Project: CRN 62m Dislopen Sport

CRN, the Ferretti Group shipyard and brand, presents a unique megayacht concept which is destined to establish new standards in the international luxury yachting industry.   Dislopen, a range of innovative steel and aluminum boats, which marry the shape and style of a high-performance open boat with the volume and the comfort of a large displacement yacht.  CRN intends for the Dislopen line to develop a new range in leisure boats, that offer a unique way to experience sailing and cruising, offering constant direct contact with the sea through its outdoor areas whilst having even greater onboard comfort and space. This original concept developed from a combination of ideas garnered from CRN’s many years of experience in bespoke Megayachts, as well as the architects Gianni and Paola Zuccon of Studio Zuccon International Project, long-standing partners of the brand and the Ferretti Group. The Dislopen line is born from a combination lines and looks with the 62 Sport project being the first of the models to be shown in rendering.  A further two models of 46 and 52 meters will follow.  The Dislopen range has a sporty look, similar to that of small and medium yachts, but is also able to make longer trips, even across the ocean, and still have the typical comfort of a displacement mega yacht. The Dislopen CRN 62m Sport will have five decks, owner’s, main deck, lower deck, sub deck, the latter is reserved for technical spaces and the galley), on which open areas prevail.  The interior and the exterior layout has been redesigned to obtain simple and functional solutions that exploit each area on board in an original manner.  The Dislopen 62m Sport is powered by twin Caterpillar engines that can reach a cruising speed of 14 knots and a max 15. The ships are classified by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and are MCA compliant.

New Launch: Feadship 77.70m Hull. 802

Hull. 802 is the latest Feadship of 77.70 meters to touch the water.  Titled M/Y Tango, hull. 802 has a very characteristic exterior styling, showcasing a unique and contemporary combination of a white hull with a metallic grey and blue superstructure. Designed by Eisgaard she presents muscular looks combined with signature lines that bring additional elegance to the overall profile. Despite its significant size her four engines enable the yacht to reach a very impressive speed of 22 knots. The benefits of extensive model tests and CFD program development are very apparent in engineering such a performance.  The Feadship 77.70 meters also has a creative and innovative interior style and layout. The accommodations for twelve guests are located on the lower deck, while there is a private owners deck with its own aft seating area, full-beam stateroom and separate study. A contra-flow swimming pool, a massage beauty saloon and a spacious sun deck with outdoor cinema are among the many other first class facilities. Space for crew is for twenty members.

Hinckley New Web Site

Hinckley located at the Southwest Harbor, Maine USA is considered a legend among the boat builders, and now this famous name presents its new World wide web virtual showroom.  Founded in 1928 by the family Hinckley, the company while being mostly appreciated for its classic lines was also among the first in building fiberglass boats, putting a rolling furling main sail, and hot and cold water system on a sailboat in 1948.  Hinckley is also a pioneer and today its boats are built what is patented and called the Dual Core system, which is fiberglass composite building technique with Kevlar on the outer skin, and Carbon fiber used in the inside shell.  In 1996 apart signalling a return to power boat building Hinckley was again an innovator when it launched it Jetboats range designed by Bruce King who redefined the Down East lobster boats, with its jet drive propulsion and the patented JetStick.  Today Hinckley offers two range of boats the power Jetboats, and Sailboats which offer a total of eighteen models.  The small entry level model is the T29C in the Jetboats range, and the largest Hinckley is the 70 Sou'wester of the Sailboats range.  Recent upcoming models in the power range is the T48 Mk.II MY and FB models.  Hinckley new web site takes you around with the following buttons; The Hinckley Experience, Jetboats, Sailboats, Service, and Contacts.

Project: Riviera 53 Open Flybridge

After launching the Enclosed Flybridge version during the Sanctuary Cove boat show, Riviera presents the project for the 53 Open Flybridge model.  So far no launching date is given for this model, but seeing the success of the enclosed flybridge version I would not think this to be a long wait. The 53 Open Flybridge will feature many of the elements of the enclosed bridge version with some distinctive differences and most of all a more sportfish dedicated layout.  This is shown especially on the flybridge with the helm located to stern for supervising the game fisherman during combat times.  Other differences for this new 53 Open Flybridge are also to be found in the staircase located outside instead of inside as for the enclosed bridge version.  A stylish fixed hardtop covering all the fly is also to be found up top which also features a C-shaped dinette, and wet bar.  Down below the layout continues the spacious plan of the new 53 with a full beam owners stateroom with en-suite head and walkin wardrobe, VIP suite, and twin bunk guest cabin. A crew cabin to midships is also available.  The main deck interior continues the practical layout with an astern galley, and two settees located to fore.  Power is from triple standard Volvo 435hp, and optional twin 900hp, or Cats 1015hp engines.  Propulsion is always coming from pods drives in a triple first generation IPS600, to other options as IPS1200 or ZF aft looking versions coming with the larger engine choices.

Powerboat OGP - Netherlands Grand Prix Cancelled

Due to a decision coming from Council of State of the West Frisian Islands, Ocean Gran Prix has been forced to cancel the Netherlands, Den Helder Gran Prix set to be held between the 4 and 7 August.  The Province of North Holland which signed an agreement to dispute for five consecutive years the Powerboat Endurance Grand Prix at Den Helder in Marsiep, has made an appeal to the Regulations Department and while the 2011 race is cancelled accepts to renew its appointment for next year.  Ocean Grand Prix responsible for the promotion of the Powerboat Endurance races has now decided to find a replacement venue with a date to be confirmed on the 30 September and 02 October.

New Model: Bavaria 43 Sport

Bavaria continues to renew its range of motor boats and the 43 Sport represents its second large in size model replacing the 42.  Again the new Bavaria is a design by BMW Group Designworks USA, a collaboration which started with the current 46 Deep Blue flagship and now covers all the motor boat range. Large exterior spaces are the standard of the latest Bavaria and the 43 Sport does not disappoint in this regard offering also a lower deck choice for a two or three cabins plan.  In both cases the owners room is located to fore, with the three cabin version offering a separate shower and head rooms to the master cabin.  In the three cabin version you also get a smaller saloon in L-shaped form versus the larger C-shape found for the standard two cabin version. Power is from twin Mercruiser gas of 430hp or Volvo diesel of 370 or 435hp.  This last optional choice being available in IPS pod propulsion only.

Improve-it = Cigarette 50 Marauder

In the first half of 2011 Cigarette showed an improved version for its 50 Marauder flagship model.  The first boat showing this modification was a Poker Run Edition named Lipschutz.  This boat featured a new deck design which enhance more the aesthetics and style of the current Cigarette flagship.  With this Cigarette shows again how it is always tweaking and elaborating its boats improving them by time.  The 50 Marauder 'Lipshutz' also was the first Cigarette to be power by twin Mercury racing gas petrol SVC4v engines which deliver 1350hp each.

New Model: Sunseeker 73 Manhattan

Sunseeker launched the new 73 Manhattan at the January London show.  The 73 Manhattan should be a replacement of the 70 model launched in 2007, and is a bit longer and offers five centimeters more to the beam.  The exterior follows Sunseeker Yacht range heritage with a very large radar arch, and windows characterizing all parts of the interior from the lower cabin area, to the main deck.  Modern amenities complement this model from a fore deck bench settee to a very large all entertainment dedicated flybridge. Below is a four stateroom plan, which surprises for having two VIP cabins to fore and to starboard.  Many choices are available inside from having a more Italian style separate galley on the main deck or open plan version, to a fourth head or utility room.  Another option is that of a three cabin plan which moves the galley to the lower deck.  A two person crew cabin is located aft.  Tender stowage is on an up and down bathing platform with Sunseeker being among the first European builders to offer this back in the days on the 56 Predator. Power is twin MAN 1550hp which can reach top speeds up to 34 knots, and 25 of cruise.  A joystick option for easy manoeuvring is also available.

Project: Jet Tern 30 Serena

After making good market success with its Selene range of trawlers, and following up with the planning Mediterranean looking Artemis range presented in 2009 Jet Tern from China present a new range for a Sport Cruiser boat with the new 30 Serena.  The Serena range was already presented with an open outboard of 22 feet.  But this new 30 Serena project takes things to another level for the Chinese boat builder with a host of Mediterranean looks and concepts.  Accommodation plan for the 30 Serena is for a four berth interior, with galley and separate head.  But interesting is the cockpit deck which features a dinette with two opposite bench seats, L-shaped settee, helm station, and a small wet bar.  Not bad for a boat which measures over all just thirty feet included an extended tender stowing bathing platform.  Standard power is from twin Mercruiser 220hp gas engines which should give a 30 knots top speed.

New Model: Mustang 50 Sport Cruiser

Since being taken over by Maritimo, Mustang presents its second model the 50 Sport Cruiser.  Not an entirely new model as the 50 Sport Cruiser is a redefined Maritimo C50 Sports Cabriolet, but features one important difference, with the current Mustang flagship being powered by Volvo IPS pods.  Since then Maritimo have presented a new Maritimo C50 IPS Sports Cabriolet available only for the US market which is same in all areas as the Mustang 50 Sport Cruiser, but it will be interesting for the future if we will see more re badged Maritimo's entering into the Mustang brand. The IPS propulsion choice of the Mustang 50 Sport Cruiser allows a new lower deck layout with a larger midships located owners stateroom.  The other cabins are located fore for the VIP, and a single guest berth to starboard side.  The main deck has also been redefined now offering a more socialising living area with an astern galley.  Power is from twin Volvo 435hp engines which are propelled with IPS forward looking dual propeller pods
