New Model: Nordhavn 60

The Nordhavn 60, is the newest yacht in this renowned long range explorer yachts builder fleet, and is ready to meet owners’ demands for increased space, comfort and luxury. The Nordhavn 60 is based on the proven 55 platform, which is one of the best selling yachts in the fleet. The 60 gives owners an additional 5 feet of space in the cockpit and lazarette, allowing more room for activities like diving, fishing and dockside parties with family and friends. The longer cockpit also allows the boat deck to be extended for a larger tender and more room for sea kayaks, jet skis and other toys. An additional benefit is a speed gain of about a third of a knot and an improvement in range thanks to the longer waterline. Like the popular 55, the 60 is available in single or twin-engine configurations along with an optional additional fuel tank for additional range. New Model: Italian Yachts 80 Jaguar Sport

The new Italian Yachts 80 Jaguar Sport is a super sport yacht bearing the signature of emerging designer naval architect Roberto Angel, who conjugates a sporting soul and comfort in a masterly measured blend. Exterior lines are clearcut and essential, scanned by arched lengthy side windows that make a slender, lighter superstructure. This new Italian Yachts features new forward living spaces with sun lounge, redesigned sidewalks that facilitate onboard circulation, a livable cockpit that has central seating transforming into a sun lounge, and a large helm station aft protected at the sides by sloping bulwarks. A new style and layout were also central to the focus for redesigning interior spaces based on two guest staterooms plus two crew accommodation, forward VIP stateroom and central full-width master stateroom. Each room has private facilities. There is access to the aft galley from the upper living room. Separate crew quarters protect the privacy of owner and guests. Large superstructure windows enable exceptional luminosity of the upper deck salon, that is ideally partitioned into distinct midship convivial space and forward helm station. Interior design style for Jaguar 80 Sport is marked by a contemporary, sophisticated minimalism, consistent with exterior lines and is individualizable to reflect client desires. Jaguar 80 Sport has summer and winter air conditioning that maximizes the comfort of interior spaces, also featuring television and Hi-fi systems. Hull, deck and superstructure are of fiberglass-reinforced polyester and vinylester resin, single-skin plating and vacuum sealed sandwich composite. Outer walkways, cockpit, helm station and external steps are teak covered. Hull shape is a modified vee with a deadrise angle of 15 degrees aft ensuring performance and excellent sea keeping in adverse sea conditions. Engines are twin MTU engines that deliver 1,800 hp each and are surface driven that enables considerable performance relative to the yacht’s size and displacement. A garage is built aft, accessed via an electrohydraulically operated door, to house a 3.50 m hydrojet tender. Also aft forming an integral part of the hull is a teak swim platform which also protects the transmissions below. Electrohydraulically operated, a retractable swim ladder serves the platform.

Project: Pantera 41

Pantera presents the project and rendering for a new bigger flagship model the 41. When launched this model will be Pantera biggest built to date taking over from the 36 as the flagship of the range. As usual from the US Miami Florida based builder, this will be a racing designed and ready powerboat with a fast sea kindly attitude. Hull shape is a deep vee with two steps and 24 degrees deadrise aft, all this aimed at reducing drag and increasing performance to the max. Pantera hulls are renowned for being fast but also very seaworthy. Interior accommodation as any respected powerboat will be classy and spartan, I would accept a saloon with a vee shape here but details have not been announced. Same goes for the twin engines with no numbers being given, but i would accept various twin petrol options with the smallest of these giving like 50 plus knots. Propulsion is twin stern drive. What would be surely nice is to see this Pantera compete in the World renowned PowerboatP1 series, hope that I encouraged someone from here.

The generous areas fitted with sun cushions on the fore deck and the aft provide the perfect venue for entertaining large groups comfortably. Improve-it = Sabre 42 Express

The advantages of azipod drives have been discussed in many news articles and on the boat show docks as well. Sabre Yachts presents an optional pod propulsion on the Sabre 42 Express and the results as the shipyard says were truly impressive. This shows a superior performance and handling with less horse power thanks to the ZF Zeus 3500 Pods coupled with twin Cummins QSB5.9M 425hp engines. The data by Sabre showed a wide open throttle top speed of 34.2 knots at 3040 rpm, and a very economic cruising speed of 28 knots at 2800 rpm, which gives an amazing 325 nautical mile range. To better this one only a slow 9.9 knots speed at 1400 rpm would make it possible.

New Model: Menorquin MY 120

The new MY 120 is Menorquin’s proposal in the 12 metre segment for the 2009/10 season. It is a versatile, extremely habitable boat with extraordinary functionality. With a maximum capacity of 7 berths, the new MY 120 model has two cabins. The master cabin is located in the bow, is fitted with a double bed, reading lights and wardrobes. The guest cabin located to the stern, starboard side is very spacious and versatile, providing various sleeping options depending on the sailor’s preferences or requirements two single beds or one single bed and one double bed. The lower bed is extensible and converts into a double bed; this cabin is also fitted with wardrobes and reading lights. The dinette located to port side also converts into a double bed, thanks to the table’s telescopic leg, further increasing the sleeping space. Another valuable feature of the dinette is the incorporation of a hollow bench for stowage. The interior layout of the new Menorquin Yacht 120 has been designed to include every detail and is equipped to perform as a highly functional cruising yacht; the washroom located on the starboard side has an independent shower and double access, from the dinette and from the master cabin. The fully equipped galley to port side, includes a hob with two burners, fridge, bottle rack, microwave, and a wide range of cupboards provides ample storage space. The passages which divide the living areas allow each separate space to function independently, whilst incorporate enhancing features to this new model. For example, the wheelhouse and the galley are connected by an opening through which daylight enters. The doors which access the wheelhouse from the cockpit can be fully opened so that the two spaces are totally connected. The wheelhouse is extremely functional in its design; there is an ergonomic seat for two people with space at the back for storing chairs. On the outside, the bathing platform, which features a hot and cold water shower, is very practical. The wide sundeck is also a great attraction and will delight passengers wishing to lie and relax in the sun. The spacious cockpit offers the possibility of installing a collapsible table over the engine compartment hatches and can be stowed when not is use. The quality of the wood which is used very generously on the interiors highlights the exquisite classic style that distinguishes Menorquin Yachts and is continued on the MY 120, and it will undoubtedly be the fascination of those who value comfort and functionality as much as the guarantee of safe and stable sailing thanks to the smooth semi displacement hull.
