Princess updates it's new World wide web showroom to a new version. Princess original debut comes in the fall of 1969, although the company forms its foundations in 1963 and 1965. In 1963 three ex-naval officers Cliff Viney, Brian Phillips and David King, will buy a hull and deck mould of a Senior 31 boat to fit out for a charter business. The trio will find it hard to get deposits and firm bookings in charter and decide to sell the fitted out 31 boat. Finding the sell easy to do, they found Marine Projects in 1965, and present the Project 31 foot motor cruiser, a design improved Senior 31 which debuts in that same year. It will take four years and two smaller Project's and Pilgrim model, when in 1969 Marine Projects presents the Project 31 replacement, the Princess 32. Princess has arrived with the 32, which produced till 1980 will sell in two thousand units, writing history as the Plymouth yacht builder best seller to date. In 1974 Princess hires John Bennett to design the planning V-shaped hull version of the 37. The Bennett collaboration will last till 1980 when they hire Bernard Olesinski to design the 30DS, who since then has designed all Princess models. The 30DS will also be another of Princess's best selling models, with over five hundred units sold in a ten year production which also includes the Flybridge and S versions. In 1983 Princess enters the open sport cruiser market with the Riviera line and the 286, followed by a 36 Riviera, with the larger being the 46 Riviera and smallest the 266 Riviera. Princess will make seven different Riviera models produced for thirteen years and till 1996, with line replaced by the V series line of open sport cruisers and yachts in the fall of 1995. The V series is distinctive and modern with its Italian design inspired integrated windshield radar arch and straight sheer line, and debuts with the two V39 and V52 models. Still ongoing the Princess V-series will never stop expanding entering into the hard-top design with the first generation V65 launched in 2000, and arriving to its largest size with the 2010 to 2012 produced V85-S. Currently the V-series offers four models from the V40 to the fourth generation V65. In 1996 Princess launched the M-line of flagship motor yachts, debuting the new 22M, with this followed by the 20M in that same years, and the 25M which arriving in 2001 enter Princess into the 24 meters plus super yacht size. In 2011 Princess pushes more into super yacht with the renewed M class line, first with the 32M, which is followed in 2012 by the largest Princess to date and composite boat ever build in the UK the 40M. The renewed M series had a total of four models including the 35M and 30M, this smaller M being the newer and last model in the line, was dropped in 2020. In 2020 Princess will debut the volume focused X range as designed by Pininfarina and Olesinski, and debuting with the X95 and is followed by the X80 the following year. From 1973 to 2003 Marine Projects also part-owned sailing yacht builder Moody, this founded in 1827 as a timber boat builder and repair yard, and entering fiberglass construction in 1965. In the thirty years Marine Projects owned Moody it presented 39 models and sold a total of 4233 units. Princess has had four owners since its founding, although one of the three founders, David King was it's chairman from founding till September 2014, and is still as a director today. From 1981 till 2008 Princess will be owned by Graham J. Beck, and his Renwick Group from South Africa. Interestingly in between 1996 to 2005 Renwick also owned competing British builder Fairline. Renwick will sell to Princess to L Capital 2 in May 2008, an investment group co-sponsored by Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and Groupe Arnault. In January 2016 L Capital will merge with Catterton to become L Catterton, with this selling in February 2023 to KPS Capital Partners, an American investment company. Currently Princess has five sites in Plymouth, from the original New Port street which started as a rented shed but today owns in its entirety with head office on site since 1965, to Lee Mill, Langage, Coypool, and South Yard purchased in 2012 to produce the larger yachts and previously owned by HMNB Devonport. The Princess current line up offers nineteen models in five different lines; X Class, Y Class, F Class, S Class, and V Class. The current Princess entry level model is the V40 while the flagship model is the X95 Vista. Princess latest models are the V80 and Y65, while upcoming new projects are the fourth generation V65 and X90.
