Project: Pearl 100 Hybrid

Unveiled during the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival press conference, Pearl present the project a new 100 Hybrid, its new largest and most advanced model to date, and the first to feature hybrid propulsion.  At thirty metres length over-all, the 100 Hybrid is a raised pilothouse superyacht combining silent, sustainable cruising with the power and performance expected of the Pearl name.  Designed by Dixon Yacht Design with interiors by Kelly Hoppen, the 100 Hybrid is a replacement to the 2018 launched Pearl 95, embodying the next generation of elegant innovation; blending unique style, advanced technology, and responsible engineering. With five beautifully appointed cabins, including a main-deck owner’s stateroom with private forepeak terrace and a second full-beam master below, the Pearl 100 Hybrid is designed for both adventure and serenity. The Peal 100 Hybrid is to be powered by twin MAN 2000hp couple to the E-Motion hybrid system offering multiple cruising modes, from zero-emission silent operation to high-speed performance up to 24 knots, ensuring a refined and responsible experience at sea.

Flybridge Yacht Wrecked by Fire in Club Arenal Mallorca

A not attended 23 meter flybridge yacht went ablaze in Club Nautico del Arenal in Llucmajor, Mallorca with the fire reported just before 02:00 early morning hours of Thursday 22 January.  Guardia Civil and multiple fire crews from Bombers de Mallorca tended to the fire taking three hours to control, with big efforts going and succeeding to keeping the fire to this one yacht.  Ultimately the yacht was wrecked by the blaze, with an investigation on the cause of the fire being opened.
The yacht in this fire is an Antago 76 as designed by Fulvio de Simoni and produced from 1999 to the early noughties.  Antago from Viareggio, Italy was founded in 1991 by Sebastian Gravagno and will close its doors in 2006, with the company returning in 2025 as a US holding.

New Model: Ferretti 720

Ferretti Yachts updates the 720, with the first unit bound for the American market.  Launched in November at the Ferretti Group shipyard in Ravenna, this third generation 720 marks a production milestone being the first model in the flybridge range to be built at the new production facility opened in June 2024. Building on the success achieved in recent years, Ferretti Yachts 720 has been updated redesigned in detail, retaining distinctive features of the previous generation, but introducing aesthetic enhancements and technical features that confirm the brand’s evolutionary journey, driven by collaboration with architect Filippo Salvetti for the exteriors and Ideaeitalia for the interiors. With a length over 22 metres the new third generation Ferretti Yachts 720 is the result of collaboration between the Product Strategy Committee, chaired by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. New features include an even sharper focus on on-board comfort, on optimised spaces to close the gap with larger models, and a significant increase in the storage areas. From an exterior design perspective, Ferretti Yachts 720 features a lightly redefined profile with more extensive glazing in both the lounge and the master cabin. The new hard top on the flybridge is new also larger increasing the shade provided, while the redesigned gunwale accentuates the connection between interior and exterior. The Ideaeitalia team also worked to evolve the volumes and spatial connections, strengthening the visual relationship with the exteriors and the perception of the interiors, which are designed for use in a convivial and informal way. The materials chosen instil a sense of welcome and elegance, achieving a balance between warmth and refinement. Starting from the main deck, there are three different ways to access the lounge. The unit launched has a hinged door on the port side and two sliding doors to starboard, designed to point up the dialogue between interior and exterior. When they enter the lounge, owners and guests are welcomed by two large sofas with cushions, inspired by those found on larger yachts, which elevate the level of comfort in the living area. The Contemporary mood chosen for the first unit features a fresh and modern colour palette, with pale yet bold tones reminiscent of the sea. Continuing along the main deck, the most important new feature is clear separation between the dining/living area and the galley/wheelhouse, made possible by the introduction of a sliding glass door and the optional hi-lo window with an electronic opening mechanism. The result is a semi-enclosed setting that guarantees greater privacy and improves the overall quality of the experience. Other new features in the wheelhouse area include the windscreen with no central pillar, now one of the brand’s distinctive features, and the new armchairs designed by Frau. On this first unit, the flooring on the main deck and stairs is parquet. The new layout of the lower deck features four comfortable cabins: a master suite and a VIP cabin. plus two twin cabins with the cabin to port side on the first unit is fitted with sliding beds. The master cabin has a desk with a chair on the port side, while opposite there’s a comfy sofa next to the walk-in wardrobe, which is located behind the wall containing the bed, separated from the other areas by a sliding door, and next to the private bathroom. Overall, there are significantly more storage spaces. The double crew cabin, entered directly from the cockpit, has a private bathroom, a laundry station and direct access to the engine room, combining functionality and practicality with a view to optimising operational management on board. The storage space has been upgraded on the flybridge as well, resulting in a large compartment behind the pilot chairs. The hard top on this first unit features a system of slats that can be adjusted as needed. The ergonomics of the seating in both the bow and stern has also been improved for even greater comfort. The unit also has an awning for the bow area, providing shade when the sun is at its hottest. The first Ferretti Yachts 720 unit is equipped with a pair of MAN 1400hp for speeds up to 32 knots and a cruise of 28.

Project: Fiart SX5

Fiart present the project for the SX5, a hard top sport yacht as designed by Massimo Simeone which recaptures the cabin yacht spirit the Italian yacht builder build it's name on.  The SX5 is a replacement to the since 2016 produced Fiart 52 of which she is based on.  The SX5 features a redesign of the hard-top, new cockpit layout, and a two cabin interior layout option which was previously not available.  Simeone brings a sleeker looking hard-top while the cockpit has been re-imagined with a central sun-pad followed by a U-shaped dinette, an L-shaped lounger forward to port side with wet-bar and helm station opposite.  The interior layout of the Fiart SX5 is identical to that of the 52; three double cabins with master stateroom at midships, forward VIP, third cabin with double berth to starboard and L-shaped galley in between the cabins.  The novelty in the lower cabin is that Fiart now offers the SX5 with a new option for a two cabin layout; which move the galley to port, and offers an L-shaped sofa to starboard.  The Fiart SX5 is to be powered by twin Volvo 550hp or 600hp with IPS pod drives.  Top speeds are not announced from Fiart, but the 52 had a 35 knots performance with the twin 600hp choice.

New Model: Albemarle 45 Carolinian Fisharound

Announced in the beginning of 2024 the Albemarle 45 Carolinian Fisharound debuted in a private event in June 2025.  The 45 Carolinian Fisharound sees Albemarle follow again to detail a Carolina custom look like its 53 Albe/Spencer Edition flagship it launched in 2023.  Look at it from every angle, and its hard to tell this is not a custom design and build, until you look at the sticker at the side.  The custom look becomes production in the 45 Carolinian Fisharound, which is also Albemarle largest outboard powered boat to date, five meters larger to the 31 Dual Console.  The 45 Carolinian Fisharound is also a full walk-around deck center console cruiser, offering interesting cruising spaces.  A free aft cockpit dedicated to fishing with mezzanine settee welcomes you aboard, to fore-deck is two opposite opposite settees, two steps up take you to the triple seat helm station, with a bench settee located in-front of the helm.  The interior accessed from a door forward of the raised console area is functional and immensely comfortable considering what the 45 Carolinian Fisharound is about. Finished with black walnut cabinetry, solid surface countertops, Ultraleather fabrics, tracked Majilite headliner and wall panels, the cabin offers a forward dinette which converts to a double berth, and filler cushions that transform the U-shaped aft lounge into a queen berth, sleeping four.  The port side galley features refrigerator and freezer drawers, recessed single burner stove top, microwave and stainless steel sink.  An enclosed shower stall, sink, and marine head round out the list of necessities for comfortable overnights aboard.  The Albemarle 45 Carolinian Fisharound is powered by triple Mercury 600hp for speeds up to 47 knots and a cruise of 35.

Projects: Marcopolo Adventure Yachts MP10, Marcopolo Adventure Yachts MP12

If the segment of European modern style of boats sports cruisers which some call explorer was not hot enough, here comes Marcopolo Adventure Yachts from Sicilia who unveils its first two models: the MP10 picture above, and MP12 pictured below. The new Marcopolo Adventure Yachts comes from the Island of Sicily in Messina, shaped by the experience of Rosario Alcaro and the design expertise of the Roberto Delfanti Design Lab, and introduces a range that combines contemporary aesthetics, advanced technology and a strong spirit of exploration. Both models are available in day boat and more enclosed cruiser configurations. They could have been almost identical, given that they differ by only two metres in length, but the two Macropolo models display fundamentally different characteristics, further emphasised by the configurations selected for the Düsseldorf debut. The MP10 is an asymmetrical walkaround open model, favouring the port-side passageway and featuring a substantial hardtop that shelters both the helm station and the galley module. The MP12, presented in a cruiser layout, offers an interior arrangement including a second lounge, a galley module and the helm station. Both sport cruisers are powered by outboard engines, chosen specifically to boost performance, agility, and ease of handling. The MP12 can be fitted with up to three 450hp engines, while the MP10 can carry a maximum of twin 450hp outboards. Both MP10 and MP12 feature fold-down bulwarks that expand the aft deck, together with a distinctive and practical structure surrounding the outboard area, topped by a robust rollbar with integrated safety gates protecting the swim platforms. The MP12’s larger twelve meters dimensions allow for a configurable aft open space, featuring a generous sun-pad whose foldable backrest can be positioned facing the welcoming dinette, where two extendable tables allow for a substantial number of guests. Below deck, the MP12 offers a versatile layout with a configurable dinette area, a forward double berth with two large wardrobes, a bathroom with separate shower, and two aft single berths. Two comfortable side decks provide easy access to the MP12’s foredeck, thoughtfully laid out with a large sun-pad and two seats that convert it into a welcoming relaxation area. The more compact MP10 offers an aft deck with dinette sofa whose backrest can both tilt and fold down, serving either as seating for the table or convertible into a sun-pad. The MP10 also offers excellent interior accommodation for its size, with a forward dinette optionally fitted with a sofa-bed, an aft double berth, all complemented by a spacious bathroom with shower. The MP10 features a generous forward sunpad. Both Marcopolo Adventure Yachts are characterized, from a color and décor perspective, by light, airy tones below deck, while the hull and deck are finished in Steel Grey, highlighted by a wide black band along the hull. The yachts’ upholstery uses Space Shell, an innovative material from aerospace and motorsport. Its ability to limit heat transfer makes it ideal for high-contact areas like sunpads and seating. Interiors are trimmed in Dinamica, a technical, automotive-derived fabric valued for its lightness, durability, and soft touch. The hulls, developed using advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics ensure stability and balance even at high speeds: the MP10 features a hull with two steps, while the MP12 incorporates three. Construction at 3AF Shipyard uses high-quality fiberglass layers to ensure structural and mechanical strength without compromising overall lightness. On the MP12, carbon fibre is also used in the uprights and hardtop, further optimizing the balance between weight and strength. Both models reflect the brand’s focus on sustainability and efficiency, replacing traditional materials with next-generation composites. The hull structures are built from recycled PET, a thermoplastic that combines lightness, strength and reduced environmental impact. Bulkheads and selected furniture components use honeycomb polypropylene, a high-tech material derived from aerospace and automotive sectors. Its cellular structure provides both rigidity and flexibility, enhancing comfort and reducing overall weight. Every detail, from materials to hull geometry, results from precise 3D analysis of weight distribution and structural loads, with a goal to achieve the perfect balance of strength, efficiency and lightness, at the core of Marcopolo Adventure Yachts.

Azimut Cruiser Ends Aground in Jervis Bay, Australia

A twelve meter Azimut sport cruiser ended aground and on the rocks following a storm in Huskisson, Jervis Bay, New South Wales, Australia on the night between seventeen and eighteen January.  The story was documented by delivery captain Ocean X Facebook page, who advised that the swing moored Azimut cruiser tore its bow cleats during the storm and ended aground.  No injuries are reported from the accident, as the vessel had no persons onboard.  The Azimut sport cruiser was salvaged by Marine Safety Services and Nowra Cranes on Tuesday twenty January, and taken for repairs.  
The sport cruiser in this accident is an Azimut 40S as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 2010 to 2015.  The 40S was a replacement to the 43S and was replaced by the more open Azimut Atlantis 43.

Santasevera Yacht New Web Site

Santasevera Yacht presents its new web site.  Located in Monte Porzio in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, Santasevera was founded in December 2023, announcing a line of modern sport cruisers and yachts inspired to a down East lobster boat from the future as designed by Francesco Guida.  In Spring 2024 it announced its three projects, and in January 2025 it debuted its first 52 model.  Currently Santasevera offers eight models offered into the three; 36, 42, and 52 platforms.  Santasevera new website takes you around with the following tabs; Heritage, Shipyard, Fleet, Dealer, Press, and Contact.  Santasevera is also on social media with bottom links taking you to its Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin pages.

Project: Amer 42 Custom Explorer

Announced a year or so ago Amer finally present more detailed information of the 42 Custom Explorer.  A one off 42 meter explorer work-boat inspired super yacht as designed by Luiz de Basto for both interior and exterior with naval architecture by Optima and currently in construction in Italy, the 42 Custom Explorer sees also Amer enter into steel and aluminium builds, having been a specialized composite fiberglass yacht builder till today.  The 42 Custom Explorer is a triple deck yacht plus bridge deck, with an unusual fore deck dedicated for water toys, able to store what look like two eight meter ribs or private water craft.  Guest accommodation is all on the lower deck, with five guest suites, including a master stateroom at midships.  Crew cabins are four cabins located forward, with this entered by the cabin area located forward and a lobby with saloon and galley for the crew.  The Amer 42 Custom Explorer is to be powered by twin Volvo 1000hp per IPS pod propulsion, that means it will feature four 1000hp engines coupled to the two new IPS drives.

Marquis Yacht Runs Aground in Jewfish Key, Florida

A sixteen meter Marquis flybridge yacht with four persons onboard ended aground on a sandbar in Jewfish Key, Monroe County, in the upper Florida Keys on a story shared on Thursday fifteen January.  The Marquis flybridge yacht was assisted by Florida Gulf Coast Marine Services of TowBoatU.S who shared the story on his YouTube channel and towed the yacht from the stern in deep water, although this operation was a bit harder then it looked as the tide was pushing the yacht more into the sand-bar.  The yacht departed with it's own power, which suggests little damage, although it ended back in the sand-bar but managed to free itself with it's own power, avoiding a second tow-out.  
The yacht in this accident is a Marquis 55 LS as designed by Nuvolari-Lenard and produced from 2007 to 2009.  Marquis was Genmar flybridge yacht line created in 2003 and lasting till 2021 when it stopped operating.
