New Model: Greenline 58 Fly

Greenline 58 Fly is here, so says the website of the Slovenian motor cruiser and yacht builder who raised into fame following the launch of its 32 model in 2008.  With this new flagship Greenline is celebrating fifteen years in business and over a thousand deliveries, a celebration which have seen the builder always pushing on its clean hybrid energy beliefs, and today has arrived in its fifth version of the H-drive electric-diesel-solar propulsion system.  Designed by Marco Casali the Greenline 58 Fly is a spacious eighteen meter motor yacht offering the latest design trends, from open view veranda aft decks, hard-top up top which can be optioned with more solar panels, and an astern galley main deck layout.  Down below the Italian designer and Slovenian builder present a spacious three double cabins three heads layout with a midships full beam owners stateroom.  A choice exists here to have a two head layout, and replace the third en-suite with a walk-in ward robe for the VIP suite, with an option for the third cabin to modify as an office room.  The new Greenline 58 Fly is standard powered by twin Cummins 610hp as standard with optional engines going up to 1000hp by Cats or Volvo for top speeds around thirty knots.  As in any Greenline the 58 Fly follows the Slovenian green energy offer with a 1.32kw solar power system which is optionable up to 3.63 kw if you add the extra panels in the hard-top, and a twin 25 or 100kw electric motors option.  Greenline cruising is here and with the smaller 25kw electric motors alone the 58 Fly is able to reach six knots top speed and cruise for 25 nautical miles at five knots, while with the larger 100kw top speed goes up to twelve knots and at seven knots cruises for 25 nm in electric mode only, and up to 500 nm with diesel generators.

New Model: Absolute 52 Fly

For 2023 Absolute presents its new 52 Fly model, a sixteen meter flybridge motor yacht full of comfort, and class leading accommodation .  The second generation 52 Fly follows the design theme as Absolute Design and Research Lab outlined with the 60 Fly in 2021 and followed with the 56 Fly last year, with this sixteen meter flybridge motor yacht doing the third act of this future looking design.  The new Absolute 52 Fly is a modern flybridge motor yacht, which features an unusual layout of an owners stateroom forward, and the VIP room at midships.  A third cabin with twin berths is located to starboard, with a guest shower head serving the two guest cabins located to port side.  An optional crew cabin is also available in the Absolute 52 Fly, which if you option does not affect the glazed stern parapet open gunwale design.  The Absolute 52 Fly has a living main deck with an astern galley layout, a lounging which becomes dining C-shaped dinette forward, and a side door equipped helm station featuring a direct access to the open gunwale for easy side mooring.  Of note in the Absolute 52 Fly are the flybridge which again is one of the most spacious in this size and is optionable with a hard-top, and the fore deck spaces which is another class leading act.  Falling short somewhere, I would say the performance of the Absolute 52 Fly is not really breath taking, with a top speed of 28 knots and a cruise of twenty, and a 190 nautical miles range.

Super Yacht Australia Aground in Singapore

A 56 meter Benetti super yacht titled m/y Australia and registered under Malta flag hit a reef off the Buran Channel, just one nautical mile of Sentosa Resort, Singapore on 16:25 of Monday sixteen October.  Australia was just exiting the Sentosa resort and at about one nautical mile from the harbour entrance she was seen listing to its port side.  Some unconfirmed reports said the yacht had a pilot onboard, and other news said it developed a mechanical damage and deviating from its course outside the channel leading it to go into the shallower area and ultimately run partly aground.  Singapore Maritime and Port Authority advised that there was no disruption to port channel traffic, no pollution happened in the grounding, and no injuries are being reported.  Six hours after the grounding Australia was re-floated and resting at anchor to East of Sentosa assessing its damage, with a tug boat nearby ready for assistance.  Some reports are saying that Australia had a hull breach during the grounding and will be dry-docked for repairs.
Since 2021 m/y Australia is owned by down under billionaire mining magnate Clive Palmer, who purchased the 56 meter Benetti in December 2020, at the time asking a price of just under thirty million US dollars.
M/y Australia, previously named Bash and launched as Ulysses is a 2012 Benetti 56M series as designed by Stefano Natucci and delivered in four build to order units from 2005 to 2012, with Australia being the last of these builds. The 56M was a following of Benetti's successful Golden Age 50M steel build semi custom series which debuted in 1997 and sold in seven units up to 2008.

Project: Fiart P48

Fiart Patrovich collaboration enters the second chapter, and present the P48 project set to launch in 2024.  With the smaller fourteen meter P48 designer Patrovich follows what he did with the sixteen meter P54 which debuted in 2022, for a fore to deck sport cruiser with a large central T-Top covering the main living deck area, and two fore and aft sunbathing zones.  The Fiart Patrovich series are near unbeatable for exterior spaces, offering fore to aft spaces, in a wide-body cockpit format which also thanks to a higher freeboard does not sacrifice interior cabin spaces. Differences between the larger P54 and P48 are at the stern, with the P48 offering a fixed bathing platform with optional transformer, unlike the flip platform which when closed closes the stern as in the larger sixteen meter. The Fiart P48 as to what we know is to offer a standard two cabins layout, with a VIP suite to fore and a master room at midships.  Fiart has not communicated power options for the P48, but expect Volvo power with IPS pod propulsion.

Project: Ferretti Custom Line Navetta 38

During the Monaco yacht show, Ferretti Group presented the project for the new Custom Line Navetta 38.  A replacement for the Navetta 37 which debuted in 2016 and has sold in fifteen units, the Custom Line Navetta 38 is the latest made-to-measure yacht in the brand’s displacement line, with the first unit under construction at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, for a 2024 launch. The Ferretti Custom Line Navetta 38 will featured a volume displacement under 300 GT, and comes from a design of Filippo Salvetti for exterior and interior by ACPV Architects of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, with the Piero Ferrari led Ferretti Group Engineering Department managing the naval architecture and product development. Extraordinary combinations of elegance and liveability, timeless classicism and harmony with the marine environment, direct contact with the sea and seamless continuity between interiors and exteriors are the features that present the Custom Line Navetta 38. This superyacht was in fact designed to maximise the usage of all available space on the four decks, with a large master suite of over forty squared meters on the main deck and completely separated crew and guest flows to ensure maximum privacy. The stern area is an innovative feature on board Custom Line Navetta 38 and a completely new take on the full-beam beach deck concept. The beach club and main deck cockpit, together covering over 70 squared meters are totally open and furnished with a system of freestanding modular units, thus creating a more extensive, generous and multi-functional area at the water’s edge that embodies the flush deck concept. The new beach club is a versatile space with the sea-facing couch enjoying  panoramic views, while the spacious swim platform provides direct access to the water which extends with two opening gunwales to extend the space. The beach club’s rational and functional layout means that this space is extremely practical and easy to use, a further accent on the concept of continuity and openness between yacht and open sea is the all-glass construction of the parapets in the main deck cockpit and the forward part of the sundeck. With a total surface area of 70 square metres and 15 metres in length, the extended sun deck becomes an extraordinary space in which to socialise and relax, complete with a spectacular sea-view jacuzzi aft with sun cushions, a sun lounge area forward and an open-air dining area under the shelter of a painted hard top. The entire area is surrounded by expansive glazing that offers a magnificent 180-degree view. The exteriors are characterised by a timelessly classic design language that features simple, harmonious lines expressing absolute luxury with elegance and refinement.  The key word for the Custom Line Navetta 38 is flexibility designed to enhance the experience offered by its interior spaces. The interior design is focused on maximum use of space through optimum control of all the volumes and functional exploitation of the entire available surface area. Another strong focus was on natural light, with extensive full-height windows creating powerful continuity between external and internal spaces and a feeling of harmony with the marine environment. The interior design is developed around a concept based on refined detailing and the use of fine materials with natural textures, including various types of leather and also linen and parchment, chosen both for the finishing's and the upholstery and coverings. The custom-designed furnishings are skilfully handcrafted by the shipyard’s expert personnel, a triumph of style made possible by the collaboration with ACPV Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, who have revisited the stylistic features of maritime tradition, from the concept to the colour palette through a contemporary lens, highlighting the union between the yacht and the furnishings, the later custom designed and made to measure from natural leather and wood using sophisticated handcrafting techniques. The two architects has created an exclusive décor solutions based on two different moods: the more contemporary “cold mood” that plays with the cool hues of sky and navy blue, and the more classic and timeless “warm mood”, which features a warmer and cosier palette. Underscoring the possibility for owners to customise the yacht’s interiors, one of the brand’s signature features, the first Custom Line Navetta 38 will have a more neutral mood that further emphasises the bond with nature through natural, muted and neutral colours such as beige and ivory. In addition to the master suite, Custom Line Navetta 38 has four guest cabins on the lower deck, accommodating a total of ten people and seven crew members in four cabins, including the captain. Ideal for covering long distances with low fuel consumption and to enjoy category- beating performance, the  Custom Line Navetta 38 is standard powered by twin Man 1400hp for a top speed up to fifteen knots, with a range of about 2,800 nautical miles at an economy cruising speed of ten knots. Custom Live Navetta is also be Selective Catalytic Reduction ready and installing the system brings a 70% reduction in NOx emissions and IMO3 compatible.

A 28 meter super yacht titled m/y Self Made burned in flames while berthed in Yacht Haven Marina, near West State Road 84, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on about 22:30 hours of Thursday twelfth October.  Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and Fire Fighters responded to the blaze which engulfed Self Made, with the flames controlled in about two hours.  After the fire the 28 meter yacht had over half of its main deck and flybridge badly burned down by the fire.  The yacht was reported unattended at the time of the fire, with no injuries and damage to other vessels being reported.

New Model: Sanlorenzo SX100

Sanlorenzo has during the Cannes Yachting Festival debuted its new SX100, the fourth and second in size model of its successful SX range which debuted in 2017 with the SX88.  Since then the Sanlorenzo SX model has been on a spiralling unstoppable success, and is surely one of the best selling in the four semi-production lines from the Italian yacht builder.  Designed by Zuccon who is responsible for all Sanlorenzo yacht models since some years, the SX100 is a smaller sized near copy of the SX112 flagship which debuted in the fall of 2020, and since then has sold thirteen units.  Like the four meters bigger sister the SX100 features opening side bulkheads terraces aft increasing the deck space and extending the beach area, while also integrating this with the low level lounge. Inside the Sanlorenzo SX100 offers a four double cabins arrangement, with an owners stateroom located on the forward part of the main deck.  There is also an option where the low level saloon can be specified as a master stateroom with direct connection to the beach club area.  Probably with this option one can also specify five cabins in the SX100 if one had to also opt the fore deck suite.  The Sanlorenzo SX100 is powered by quadruple Volvo 800hp with IPS pod drives for top speeds up to 23 knots, a cruise of twenty, and a ten knots long range which give a 1600 nautical miles range.

Liveaboard Sports Cruiser Ends Beached in Treasure Island Florida

A twelve meter Chris Craft sport cruiser ended beached in Treasure Island, Florida, when it broke it's swing anchored mooring in the Gulf near Caddy's, during a storm on the night of Wednesday eleven October.  The sport cruiser is a liveaboard for one person, who was not onboard when it all happened, but did see it from a distance and tried to paddle back onboard with no success, due to the strong current of the night.  The owner as the picture above has started digging in order to remove the vessel, before a notice of enforcement arrives.  After just over a month the Chris Craft sport cruiser was put on a trailer and towed away by the authorities on the sixteen November.
This Chris Craft in this beaching is a 412 Amerosport as produced from 1987 to 1990.  The 412 Amerosport evolved into the 400 Express Cruiser in its last 1990 production year, same model but with more consevrative graphics.  The Amerosport line from Chris Craft was introduced in 1987 with four 28 to 41 foot models, to compete with the Sea Ray Sundancer's who dominated the sales of the North American boating market in those years.

Project: Pardo 75

After the presentation of the GT75 at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2022, Pardo present the project for a 75 with T-Top version which joins the hot selling Walkaround range.  This Cantiere del Pardo 75 concept features naval architecture by Zuccheri Yacht Design and exterior and interior design by Nauta Design. The Pardo Yachts Walkaround range welcomes its new flagship, the Pardo 75 T-Top, designed for owners who want to expand after appreciating the Pardo 50 and who want more space in the sleeping area and outdoors, while maintaining the specific characteristics of the Walkaround range. This line is well-known for its performance and its practical and comfortable layout; it includes yachts that are easily manoeuvrable and designed to navigate in total safety thanks to their configuration. Having all of the above does not mean cutting back on functionality and great attention to design with the Pardo 75 offering a three double cabins lower deck, with the choice to have a large saloon area and two cabins, or a galley down with two double cabins.  A crew cabin is located forward.  The Pardo 75 is powered by triple Volvo 800hp engines with IPS pod drives, with options that go up to 1000hp and the same propulsion set up.
