Oddivio Giusti founder and still owner of Intermare started his boat building experience by presenting models in the market ideally suited for fishing but also featuring an accommodating cruiser interior with highly praised underwater sections which overtime got a well praised name for demanding sea conditions. As time passed the Tuscany builder fleet become more luxurious and modern, but still keeping the sea keeping heritage that made this family owned boat builder among the most respected medium sized boat builders in Italy. Intermare currently produces a seven model line up of cruisers and yachts which start from the entry level 30 Cruise, and goes up to the much appreciated and modern 50 flagship introduced in 2007. Intermare new website takes you around with seven tabs: Intermare, Fleet, Services, Contacts, Events Media, In-shopping, and Used Boats Selection. The new version is so far available only in Italian language, and we hope for it to be soon available in English and other languages too.

Boat Review: Intermare 36 Fly
Presentation So after some critics from some friends that PowerYacht is too much of the bigger boats, although that is not the case as it is mostly the market which is pushing in that direction, I decided this month to have a better view of a medium sized flybridge cruiser the Intermare 36 Fly. Presented in the 2006 Genova boat show this new Intermare is an interesting entry medium level boat with an overall length of 38 feet. For interested parties Intermare also offers a hard top version named the 36 Cruise, obviously missing the flybridge and second helm station up top.
Accommodation
Medium sized family cruisers of 30 feet plus have been the building foundation of the Intermare brand in the last decade and the 36 Fly is all about being a comfortable family cruiser. It offers 2 cabins both with double berth, with the master stateroom located forward. A separate single shower head is located to port. The saloon located on the main deck features an L-shaped settee with a hidden counter top galley located opposite to the settee to port. The interior helm station with a single seat is situated forward of the L-shaped settee in the saloon area to starboard.
Being a Med based producer the exterior space is pretty good considering the small dimensions of the 36 Fly, offering a very spacious aft deck cockpit, a big bathing platform which can hold a tender and a comfortable fly bridge up top. The fly area is very smart offering a small c-shaped settee, sun pad and a single seated helm station.
Performance Intermare is renowned for seaworthy boats, and the fact that this model uses tradition shaft driven engines confirms this. The Intermare is also very economical to run with the Yanmar engines which deliver among the best power to weight but also a very good power to consumption levels.

As I said in my introduction this size of boat is very much pretty much abandoned by most of the builders, or to be precise by the companies who build a solid reputation around this size of craft in the eighties and nineties. Still if one looks closely at the market there is a handful of new comers but also some old builders who consider this size of utmost importance to there production. Here is what you have to look for:

Jeanneau 36 Prestige - more space, similar in size and style

New Model: Intermare 50
Intermare 50 is the new flagship motor yacht from this Tuscanian company, builder of high quality detail motor yachts. Intermare flagship model offers a new generation flybridge motor yacht, dedicated to a young and sporty clientele and what is refereed to by Intermare as an open fly yacht. Open for exterior spaces, cockpit function and design. Fly for upper bridge, second helm station and interior comfort. The design for the new Intermare 50 is a low flybridge design with a low superstructure in order to give the navigation performance of an open boat but without giving up the comforts of a flybridge boat. Interior accommodation is for a 3 cabin 2 head interior and a crew cabin is available aft. The master cabin is a very spacious full beam space with an en-suite shower head and full view large side windows. Tehcnical Data:

Project: Intermare 50
The young and dynamic Intermare situated in Pisa famous for quality construction with a mind always to the family cruiser presents this project for it's future flagship the Intermare 50. This motor yacht which will be the jewel of the builder is a spacious three cabin 15 metre motor yacht, with full beam mid-ship master cabin, VIP cabin forward and third guest cabin with bunk beds. A single crew cabin aft is also available. Also worth to note is a spacious flybridge area that complements the package with an L-shaped dinette and a spacious sun pad for 2 to 3 people to port next to the helm station. The exterior design theme focuses for the usual all round design of Intermare but with big side windows for the VIP and master cabin. Engine power in order to push this 19 Ton displacement 15 metre motor yacht is a pair of 575hp Volvo shaft driven diesels.
