New Model: Pearl 72

Pearl Yachts presented the new 72 to the public for the first time at the 2022 Fort Lauderdale boat show at the end of October, approximately a year after the announcement of the project in Cannes 2021.  The 72 offer to the market is still unique in her class with Pearl design of exteriors from Dixon and interior from Kelly Hoppen CBE now doing all the four model line-up from the 62 to the 95 flagship super yacht. In terms of layout the Pearl 72 makes a unique introduction in this size-class with two master staterooms; one forward with a private entrance as typically seen on larger yachts, and the second for a full beam amidships. In addition to providing an ideal solution for co-owners who enjoy the yacht together, the innovative layout allows owners to enjoy a beautiful view even when moored stern-to in a marina. There are two further en-suite double cabins plus accommodation for the crew, in addition to an exceptional garage with space for a three meter and a half plus tender or jet ski. Fold down balconies at water level also create a beach club for those who enjoy spending time on or close to the water.  The Kelly Hoppen interior show her ever-evolving style, defined by a subtle fusion of clean lines and neutral tones, intuitively balanced with an opulent warmth, honoured with numerous prestigious awards.  The Pearl 72 carries another premiere on board: Kelly’s new “Indulgence” interior design theme. The design intent of this yacht is to capture New York City urban living on water, while enhancing and working with the incredible mechanical features that have been achieved. An array of materials including timber veneers, stone and contrasting metal detailing used and layered throughout to set up enchanting reflections and luxurious tones that fuse the ocean and interiors together.  The Pearl 72 is powered by twin Man 1400hp as standard with optional 1600hp MTU available.  With the later big engines the Pearl 72 has a 32 knots top speed and a cruise of 25 knots.

Project: Invictus TT420

Invictus completes its range with the project of TT420, filling the gap between the TT460 flagship and GT370 models, and currently under going finishing touches and preparing itself to make its world début at the upcoming Dusseldorf 2023 boat show, set to be held in Düsseldorf January 2023.  Designed as the other Invictus by Christian Grande the essential lines of this new twelve meter are distinctive of Invictus hulls, combining style and attention to performance, with the profile incorporating the stylistic features of its bigger TT460 sister a winner of the Design Innovation Award in 2020, and characterised by the elegant features of the windshield, which blend seamlessly into the carbon hardtop and further streamline the powerful mass of this model. The integral glass windshield with wipers, in particular, represents an unusual solution on this size of boat and protects during navigation. At the same time, a front opening system ensures an effective air circulation when at anchor.  The deck, characterised along its entire length by a comfortable perimeter walkway protected by high bulwarks, has a large bow sundeck that can be converted into a chaise longue, transforming it into a romantic and enchanting corner ideal for comfortably enjoying the cruise or sipping a quiet aperitif. Amidships, thanks to the folding tables, the spacious dinette can be converted into a large space for relaxation, sheltered by the hard top. At the same height, the sides can be equipped, optionally, with two collapsible side terraces, thus increasing the living space on board, but, above all, offering a perception of openness towards the outside that is best appreciated during lunch and when relaxing: a solution that breaks down the ideal barrier dividing the boat from the surrounding environment.  The aft swim platform is teak-covered, as is the whole deck. The shipyard offers the option of equipping it with a hydraulic handling device to facilitate boarding and managing the tender plus a garage large enough to accommodate a 2.10-metre tender, are features rarely found on this category of sport cruisers.  Internally, Christian Grande has opted for an open space solution. Upon entering, the spacious living area is in full display, with U-shaped rotating sofas, which can surprisingly transform into a comfortable double bed. Aft is a cabin with separate beds. The generous bulwarks have made it possible to obtain remarkable internal heights, which have been used for a large bathroom with separate shower.  The first unit of the new TT420 will be in the shipyard's identifying Personal White colour. But this new TT420, like its larger TT460, will later be available in the special Vogue White colour, which represents the ability of Invictus to always deliver a unique interpretation of even a “simple” colour as white. The Invictus TT420 is to be powered by twin Volvo 320hp or 440hp with stern drive propulsion.

Project: Cayman 540WA

Following the success Cayman is having with its 400WA model, the Italian builder is presenting a new bigger seventeen meter 540WA.  Like all recent Cayman the 540WA is a project of Ferragni, who presented a sleek looking exterior and useable deck from fore to aft.  The central dinette and galley are spacious as you can get in this size, with a maximum beam of five meters, and all this can be expanded aft with the opening bulkheads which increase this area space by about twenty percent.  Below deck the Cayman 540WA presents itself as a cruising yacht, with three double cabins, master stateroom forward, two shower heads layout.  In between the cabins is an L-shaped saloon.  A crew cabin is located midships in between the cabins and engine room.  The Cayman 540WA is to be powered by twin Volvo 480hp, or optional 610hp both with IPS pod drives.  An outboard option of triple 600hp Mercury with hidden outboards under the aft sun-pad will also be available.

New Model: Posillipo Technema 90

During the Cannes 2022 boat show Rizzardi returned the Posillipo brand to the scene with the new second generation Technema 90 model.  Designed by Galeazzi the second generation Technema 90 is based on the previous 2009 launched first series hull sold in two units.  This new Technema 90 gets updates coming everywhere making and bridging difference ten years plus of yacht design have made.  The most noticeable differences are the windows, both in hull and topside, the radar arch hard-top which now is forward looking, revised stern layout, and the open bulwarks which give undisturbed views from inside the saloon area.  There is also substantial technical differences in the new Technema 90 hull, modified to be fitted with active stabilizers and designed to run economically and comfortably at slow cruise speeds. Its good to see Posillipo back as technically speaking this name founded in 1942 reached near Riva status, especially with the fiberglass build Martinica and Tobago models of the end seventies, and the Technema series which re-invented yacht design in the eighties.

Project: Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Inboard

Sea Ray present the project for a new Inboard version for its Sundancer 370 model, which debuted in early 2021.  The Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Inboard differentiates from the Outboard version aft, with a free uncluttered stern and extended bathing platform.  The new Sundancer 370 is an innovative hard top sport cruiser with a fully usable deck from fore to aft, offering exterior spaces associated to those of a centre console thanks to its exterior asymmetric design, which with its port passageway leads you forward to a relaxing fore deck area with sun-pad and opposite settee.  Down below the Sea Ray Sundancer 370 offers a two plus two accommodation with a galley to port side, and shower head to starboard in between the berths.  So far Sea Ray is not advising what type of engines the inboard stern drive version will have, with the 2021 Outboard version powered by twin or triple Mercury 300hp.

New Model: Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi 470 Regina

Fabbrica Italiana Motosafi has launched its new 470 Regina at the end of Summer, presenting subsequently the product at the Cannes and Genova 2022 boat shows, which awarded the model as Best Revelation 2022, and four more orders.  Following on the foot steps of the 340 Regina, the 470 comes also from a design of Ferragni, and like the smaller sister is a mix of walk around features mixed to those of a cabin cruiser.  For this reason she is a bit unique in the market, but the 470 Regina does not stop there with modular layouts to both its aft and fore decks.  For example the foredeck of the 470 Regina transforms in three uses; sun-pad, two chaise lounge, and can also come with a small spa pool in between.  Below the Fabbrica Italiana Motoscafi 470 Regina shows again its flexible nature being available in two or three cabin versions, with both layouts offering a large full beam midships owners cabin.  The 470 Regina is powered by twin Volvo 480hp as standard or optional 600hp engines with IPS pod propulsion, with an outboard option of triple or quadruple Yamaha 425hp.  Hull one was powered by twin Volvo 600hp IPS combo reaching top speeds up to 39 knots.

New Model: Princess Y95

Princess are doing the final touches for its new Y95, largest Y for yacht range and sharing flagship spot with the X95 model launched in 2020.  The Princess Y95 replaces the 30M launched in 2015 and delivered in fifteen units, and although a meter smaller, and six GT of volume less, the new Y range flagship does fit in under 24 m load-line-length rules making it possible to be helmed by a standard yacht master licence.  Designed by Pininfarina with naval architecture by Olesinski the Y95 features a planning hull with wave piercer, a characteristic it shares with the X95 but Princess so far not using in any of its smaller models.  The Y95 also breaks Princess record for the largest amount of glazing ever used in a Yacht build in Plymouth.  The standard layout of the Y95 offers five guest cabins, including an owners stateroom on the forward main full body part of the main deck.  Hull one of the Princess Y95 is powered by twin Man 2000hp giving a top speed up to 24 knots.  Currently Princess has three more Y95 inbuilds.

New Model: Viking 54 Open

The largest express-style yacht Viking has ever built, the 54 Open series consists of three models; the 54 Open, 54 Sport Coupe and 54 Sport Tower. The Open Series made its world premiere at last year’s 2021 Fort Lauderdale boat show with the Sport Coupe version featuring a custom radar mast atop a three-sided fiberglass deckhouse. A few months later, Viking showcased the 54 Sport Tower for the first time with the gorgeous FarNiente at the Miami boat show.  At the Fort Lauderdale 2022 in end October Viking completed the circle presenting the 54 Open which featured a custom Palm Beach tuna tower, and unlike the Sport Tower and Sport Coupe, this model has a three-sided wraparound windshield with space between it at the hardtop, allowing a more open-air environment on the command deck. The 54 O can also be delivered without a tuna tower as a sleek express yacht.  The 54 Open’s fiberglass windshield frame is designed and fabricated in-house at Viking adhering to strict tolerances, what is a single-piece fiberglass part perfect windshield.  Above is a shot of the show-bound first 54 Open in its final stages of construction, with a tower designed and fabricated at PBT in Riviera Beach, Florida. Atlantic Marine Electronics, another Viking subsidiary, has pre-installed the wiring for the tower electronics. The first Viking 54 Open also received a teak cockpit sole.  Back in New Jersey, the next 54 Open which will also be fitted with a PBT tower, is in the mechanical department ready for its powerplant of twin Man 1550hp and gyroscopic stabilizer Seakeeper 16 installations.

Project: Cranchi SessantaSette Corsa

Cranchi and its lead designer Christian Grande are working on the project for the SessantaSette Corsa.  A hard-top sport yacht version of the SessantaSette, so far Cranchi is being tight on information for the Corsa project.  Translated to Race, Corsa is set to be a more sporty version with more streamlined upper structure and a mini flybridge up top with low profile furniture versus that of the 67.  For the interior I would not be surprised for it to have the exact same layout, which is offered in three or four cabins in the SessantaSette.  One information Cranchi reported is that the SessantaSette Corsa is to be powered by Volvo 1000hp with IPS propulsion as the standard 67, with this reaching speeds up to 29 knots and a cruise of 24.

Project: Centouno Navi 16.5m Vespro

Following on from its 28m Forza and 39m Eterea projects, Italian sport and super sport yacht builder Centouno Navi, founded by designer and entrepreneur Manuela Lucchesi and naval architect Marco Arnaboldi, presents the 16.5m Vespro project, whose name translates into dusk or twilight in English.  Vespro is a fast sixteen meter sport yacht ideal for day excursions, or as a weekender for two or four persons.  The design and engineering of Vespro is all very high tech from the hull fully dedicated to jet propulsion efficiency, high-end lightweight sandwich construction with Carbon fibers and PVC foam core, and an exterior styling following the classic Open sport yacht but with a cool and contemporary edge. The sides and rear of the deckhouse are unglazed and the windscreen can retract into the coach roof for a full Open en plein air experience. The layout of the exterior aft deck is simple yet functional and flexible, with a large walkaround sun-pad and the fold-down panels in the bulwarks serve to increase the size of the aft deck and swim platform.  The foredeck is easily accessed by walkways on both sides and features another Vee-shaped sun-pad forward.  Under the hardtop is an L-shaped divan with accompanying dining table, facing sofa, bar unit, and central port side offset helm station.  A clever design solution is the the engine room air intakes integrated into the sweeping pillars which support the hardtop.  The accommodation below deck provides for a comfortable ensuite double-berth cabin forward, and a spacious lounge space with galley. There is also the option of another guest cabin behind the stairs leading below deck.  Fitted with twin Man 1200hp engines coupled to MJP waterjets, the 16.5 meter Vespro will have wide open throttle speeds up to 56 knots and a cruise of fifty knots which give a range of 350nm. The first unit of the Centouno Navi Vespro will launch in Summer 2023.

New Model: Fiart P54

During the Genoa boat show 2022 Fiart presented its new P54, a new second in size model following the 60 Cetera it launched in 2019.  Just as the Cetera, the Fiart P for Stefano Pastrovich 54 wants to be different to everything that the market is offering here in the sport yacht segment of sixteen meters it represents, yet at the some time competing with the latest modern looking open day sport yachts currently in the market.  For example unlike most of the competition who try to make the exterior as one big open space, the P54 offers three distinct area, a sun-chaise-lounge aft, a dinette with galley wet-bar in the middle, and a fore deck sun-pad solarium which can transform to a second forward dinette. Also unlike the latest competition the connection to the sea in the Fiart P54 comes from a transformable stern with a hydraulic opening bathing platform which shows a tender garage, and also goes up and down.  The Fiart P54 will also be versatile in the cabin layout offering the choice of two large cabins, or a three cabins version layout.  In both layouts the master stateroom remains at midships, with a third bunk cabin taking space from the forward VIP suite in the two cabin version.  The Fiart P54 also stands out in its size for offering a third day head, which can be ordered as en-suite to the third cabin in the three cabins version.  The Fiart P54 is standard powered by twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives propulsion, which give a top speed up to 34 knots.  Engine choices go up to twin Volvo 900hp and IPS propulsion with the large engine giving an extra five knots of top speed.

Project: Dominator Ilumen Performance P66

Dominator returns where it started in building planning flybridge motor yachts and presents the project for the Ilumen Performance P66.  Dominator was founded in 1999 on the remains of the original Mochi-Craft yard founded in 1960, and becoming a symbol of flybridge cruisers in eighties.  This new Ilumen Performance P66 looks to based on the Dominator 620, which is one of the Austrian owned Italian builder best sellers and based on the Mochi 19 Sonic designed by Nuvolari Lenard.  Dominator is saying P66 hull one will have a trendy dark grey metallic paint with seductive orange design elements complementing the exterior furniture.  This theme continues inside by pairing shades of grey in different textures with modern orange tones to achieve an impression of timeless chic. Exquisite grey marbles with artistic orange veins transform the bar into the center of attention in the salon while the grey oak gives a touch of classic yet contemporary look and feel.  Dominator advises that the Ilumen Performance is a new range of motor yachts blending the best of both worlds with futuristic features like full carbon hard-top, full length hull windows for light filled interior spaces, and a flybridge that can convert into a private sunbathing area, all with planning hull advantages of speed and smooth performance in any kind of sea.  Based on this I think we will see some of the previous Dominator flybridge models redesigned, rebadged, and returned into production as is the case with 620-P66.

New Model: Grand Banks Eastbay 60

Grand Banks presents the new Eastbay 60, the largest boat to date in its EB down East lobster boat line here pictured in its first sea trials.  The Eastbay 60 was announced as a project in 2021, and going against recent trends will measure over twenty meters in over-all length, a whooping two meters more to its model designation of sixty feet.  The Eastbay 60 follows what the down East lobster boat inspired range from Grand Banks has done since 1993 after the first 38 Ex and nineteen models later; traditional lines, excellent seakeeping, and interiors valuing comfort over cabin numbers.  An evolution of a classic the Eastbay 60 flagship sets new high standards for its bigger size, and adds the efficiency of the Vee warped hull as evolved by Mark Richards.  After 29 years of C. Raymond Hunt hull design the 60 is the first Eastbay with Mark Richards trademark hull design, following the Grand Banks 60, 54, and 85 of the explorer yachts range.  In the accommodation the Eastbay 60 offers a living on the main deck with an astern galley layout, with three double cabins having an owners stateroom located to port side at midships, a VIP forward, and guest third cabin with an L-shaped layout offering two singe berths below deck.  Grand Banks also offers a lower deck galley two cabin layout with opposite saloon, and owners stateroom moving forward. The Grand Banks Eastbay 60 is powered by twin Volvo 725hp as standard, with optional 900hp or 1000hp with IPS pod drives or shaft line propulsion.  Because of the performance of the standard engine of just thirty knots it is believed that this is only offered with IPS pod drives, while the optional larger engines can be offered with line shaft propulsion.  Hull one is fitted with twin Volvo 900hp and IPS pod drives and has reached 33 knots of top speeds and a 27 of fast cruise.
