Explorer Cruiser Ends Aground and Capsizes in Balmoral Sydney

A thirteen meter explorer cruiser ended beached and then capsized in the Beach of Balmoral, to the North East of Sydney on the morning of Sunday ninth February 2020.  The thirteen meter explorer cruiser broke its swing mooring, with reports saying its anchor sheered the lines, with the boat ending beached and then capsized.  Unfortunately after the beaching the boat was also looted.  An operation to lift the explorer cruiser from its spot was carried out the following Thursday.
The explorer cruiser in this beaching is a 2012 Halvorsen 44 Coastal Cruiser which is still in production today.  The Halvorsen 44 Coastal Cruiser was an evolution of the 42 Coastal Cruiser arriving in 2012.  Halvorsen was founded in Sydney, Australia in 1925 with the family having boat building roots which trace back to 1887 in Arendal, Norway.
