Project: Elandra 47 SY

Elandra Yachts unveiled plans for its next model, the 47 Sport Yacht, during the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.  Development is now underway at the company's yard at Arundel on the Gold Coast and scheduled launch is mid-2016. The 47 will feature similar line to the acclaimed 53 launched last year, and as the bigger sister is also to feature tried and tested shaft drive. Elandra has so far sold four 53s since the launch in September last year, surpassing its plan of making production of three boats per year.  The three-cabin Elandra 47 will include two spacious queen staterooms: a full-beam master with private en-suite and a forward guest stateroom with shared shower head on the port side. A bunk cabin is positioned to starboard. The Elandra 53 has won acclaim for its open-plan design and inviting layout that brings the outdoors into the saloon. The design of the Elandra 47 is in the same vein with expansive bi-fold doors that open up to engage the cockpit with the galley and saloon settee as a single entertainment or leisure area. The cockpit has been designed with no loss of space or features than the Elandra 53, and the aft cockpit lounge can be set up as dinette or coffee table setting at the push of a button. The aft boot accessed from the swim platform lifts up to unearth a cavernous garage lazarette for inflatables, kayaks, rods and tackle boxes, dive gear or additional freezers.  Standard power comes from twin Caterpillar  650hp. Options include Volvo 670 and Scania 675hp. The drive line is direct shaft with a low 10-degree shaft angle.

New Launch: CRN 55m hull.134

CRN, the shipyard specializing in the construction of steel and aluminium pleasure vessels between 50 and 90 meters in length, held a private ceremony this morning to launch its hull number 134 a 55 metre megayacht that stands out for her very strong, unmistakable personality. This latest CRN launch is the outcome of the outstanding job performed by design firm Nuvolari Lenard, that pencilled her outer lines, and CRN’s Engineering Department, which was in charge of naval engineering.  Nuvolari Lenardi had already successfully cooperated with CRN on other super yachts, including 43-metre 'Magnifica’, 46-metre ‘Clarena' and 'Saramour', and 72-metre 'Azteca'.  Entirely built in Ancona, this yacht can boast a purposely strong stylistic identity, which draws inspiration from some elements typical of military crafts: square shapes, sharp lines, and innovative, sophisticated design solutions that distinguish features of the Ancona-based shipyard's brand-new yacht. CRN hull number 134 is named ’Atlante’, 55 metres long and having a 10.20-metre beam, develops over 5 decks featuring strikingly original solutions.  Atlante is equipped with two 1649hp Cat engines that push her to a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. New Model: Jeanneau 36 Leader

Jeanneau 36 Leader is a replacement to the much acclaimed 10 model of the same line, and presents itself as a striking looking sport cruiser with a competitive price tag. Add to this the option of hard top or open forward facing radar arch and it can be easy to see that the Jeanneau 36 Leader has a lot going for it.  The interior layout of the 36 Leader is a bit unconventional with an open forward cabin area having a galley, L-shaped dinette and double central berth. Access the midships stateroom and one finds a double bed looking to starboard, and a small single child berth vertical berth to port.  The exterior of the 36 Leader is a spacious area of entertainment; with a layout offering an extendable sun-pad, C-shaped dinette, and chase lounge to port side and a helm with adjacent wet-bar behind it to port side.  Power for the 36 Leader comes from Volvo 260 or 300hp diesel engines or Mercruiser 300hp petrol gas units.
