Three Yachts Destroyed by Fire in Sunny Isles, Florida

A fourteen meter flybridge cruiser and two yachts of 21 and 26 meters in size were destroyed by fire at Sunny Isles Beach Marina, Florida, for a blaze which started just after 05:00 morning time of Friday sixth June.  The fire reportedly started on the smaller flybridge cruiser, and then jumped to a seventy foot Azimut, and another yacht of 26 meters in size.  Miami Dade Fire Rescue and US Coast Guard responded to the fire from both land and water, as they also towed one of the yachts away, the first which seems to went ablaze and broke its mooring, this was made in order to reduce damage to nearby boats and property as this boat was drifting ablaze near the marina.  Fast Response Marine Towing and Salvage also helped in the operation, as he towed away and saved an eleven meter Beneteau sport cruiser which was next in the fire line and the wind going right to left in the picture.  No injuries are reported from the fire, with boats and yachts being unattended, as the cause of the blaze is being investigated, with the flybridge cruiser and the two yachts becoming a total wreck.  A couple of jet-skis and a rib also burned in the fire.
The boat which seems to have started this fire is a Sessa F48, this then jumped right to left in the picture above to an Azimut 70, and then to a Falcon 86.  The Fast Response saved sport cruiser is a Beneteau Gran Turismo 40.

Project: Extra Yachts X106 Fast

Extra Yachts present the project for the X106 Fast. A replacement to the Extra X99 Fast, the Extra X106 Fast comes from a design Lorenzo Berselli Agon studio who presented a streamlined look thanks to the superstructure being shifted towards the bow, which allows for a highly liveable stern space. The exterior design is characterized by soft shapes, taut lines and sophisticated details. All technical and functional elements have been scrupulously integrated into the general volumes. Furthermore, the vertical bow and the vertical windshield make everything more harmonious. The Extra X106 fast is build for both hull and superstructure are in composite material with carbon reinforcements; while the planning hull with spray rails will have a draft of less to one meter and a half thanks also to the use of jet propulsion. The X106 Fast stern spreads over a whole surface, and is the most liveable and entertaining area of the super sport yacht. Arranged on three levels sloping down towards the sea, and includes: a beach club equipped with a large sunbathing area and a transformer; a lounge with face-to-face sofas and foldable bulwarks which extend maximum beam to nine metres; and finally the dining area with a large table adjacent to the open kitchen with the unique Extra Fast models feature of up/down glass partition. The lower deck accommodation of the Extra X106 Fast will feature an eight berths layout in four suites, with a master stateroom at midships. Crew accommodation is for four persons located at midships, with this area also featuring a small lobby with lounge and mini kitchen. Extra X106 Fast features a side tender garage located to starboard midships. Pilot Boat Collides Into Super Yacht in Venice

A pilot boat collided into a moored super yacht of about fifty meters of length in the Venice lagoon, just before mid-day of Wednesday June four.  No one was injured in the collision with the pilot boat actually reported to be taking the pilot for the super yacht, so it navigates out of the Venice channel and into open sea.  The yacht was seen leaving following the accident, and the damage if any was not reported.  Looks like the pilot boat had its throttle stuck forward, just enough to have momentum and collide into the yacht stern and finish partly for a few seconds atop its bathing platform, before it went astern and fully back in the water.
The super yacht of about fifty meters in length of this collision was not reported and is not identified.
