New Model: Heysea 76 Zoom

Heysea Yachts from China delivered the first Zoom 76, an update of the Zoom 72 presented in 2015 with a larger bathing platform.  The Zoom series is completely designed by the Heysea in-house team and the 72 model was awarded the 2015 China Best Yacht Design. The Heysea Zoom series is inspired and a competition to the Azimut Magellano series, which has received a lot of positive critique when it was presented to the general public in 2010.  Featuring a semi displacement hull the Heysea 76 Zoom has a plumb bow, which not only delivers design value but also provides more space below deck. The Zoom 76 offers a four double cabin lower deck layout, with the option to have a three cabins choice and the large midships cabin converted to a huge entertainment area.  The Heysea 76 Zoom is standard powered by twin Volvo 900hp which give top speeds up to 25 knots and a cruise of 25 knots.

New Model: Heesen 51m YN 18151

Heesen has recently delivered YN 18151 the new 51 meter title M/Y Irisha.  This unique yacht was sold by SuperYachtsMonaco who represented the commercial interest of the owner throughout the build.  Heesen YN18151 unique exterior lines and interior are by Harrison Eidsgaard. This full-custom yacht incorporates elements of Heesen’s DNA: she is a full-aluminium, semi-displacement motor yacht below the 500 gross tonnage threshold that allows for fast cruising.  The owner’s brief called for a yacht that had to be unique in its looks. The proven engineering platform of the 5000 Aluminium class offered the perfect opportunity to give the designers ability to create a radical profile and to deliver the safety of a proven and efficient hard-chine hull.  Powered by two MTU 4613hp diesel engines exceeded expectations during the sea trials by achieving a top speed of 26.1 knots and a transatlantic range of over 3,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 11 knots.  The Harrison Eidsgaard team devised innovative exterior lines enhanced by the extensive use of double curved glazed glass that gives the yacht the appearance of a fighter jet. The unique color scheme enriches the beauty of the profile. The top is Snow White, the main deck is Midnight Blue by Awlgrip, and the hull is metallic Pacific Blue custom paint by Alexseal. In sunlight, the hull color changes from metallic blue to dark olive-green hues.  Heesen YN 18151 profile looks as cool at night as in the daylight. Concealed LED strips trace the lines of her profile, flooding the glass surfaces with light, and emphasizing the clean design.  The interior design is inviting and relaxing with a neutral palette of beige, grey and blue. Walls and surfaces are covered with textured materials that catch and reflect the light in different ways creating a sense of warm luxury throughout the yacht. The architecture of the interior is emphasized by the accurate light design. Four different settings are conceived to draw the eye to the architectural and design elements, harmonizing the design of each room, and creating different atmospheres at the touch of a button.

Project: Palm Beach PB70 Flybridge

Palm Beach Motor Yacht is continuing to add to its series of impeccably built, performance oriented yachts with the introduction of the new 70. Construction is well underway on the company’s new flagship for a scheduled completion at the end of 2018, with the first two hulls sold. The Palm Beach 70 builds on the highly popular 65, while offering additional volume in the amidships master stateroom and spacious crew accommodations.  Like all Palm Beach models, the Palm Beach 70 is built on a semi-displacement warped-hull design that produces less resistance to achieve planing mode due to the warped shape keeping the bow in the water.  This eliminates any “hump” in the speed curve that is typically associated with deep or modified-V hull shapes. Instead, a Palm Beach is designed to go through the water and avoid wasting energy to get up on top of the water.  This design also affords a shallow draft and additional buoyancy aft. With a draft of just over one meter with Volvo IPS pods, and of 1.5 meter  with straight shafts, this 21 meter traditional yacht is ready to explore off the beaten path. The vessel is estimated to cruise at 33 knots when paired with the standard twin Volvo 1000hp engines, and a top speed of 38 knots. The Palm Beach 70 is available as either an express model or with an optional flybridge. The tender is easily stowed and deployed from the garage underneath the cockpit. From here, access to the teak swim platform for docking and various water activities is seamless through the port and starboard transom doors. The Palm Beach 70’s layout features entertainment spaces in both the expansive cockpit and salon, with enhanced continuity between them due to the large electric windows in the aft bulkhead. Dual cockpit settees are designed for comfortable seating underway or at rest. The transom settee provides the perfect spot for an early breakfast before the day’s adventures. Although the best seat on the 70 to enjoy your surroundings may just be the bow cockpit. This special feature was conceived as a place to thrust yourself into escape and enjoy the peace and solitude of boating while underway or on the hook.  The concept of the Palm Beach 70 Flybridge is centered around allowing for customization of the interior layout, with one of the first hulls featuring four staterooms and four heads.

Okean is a new boat builder emerging from Brazil who starts life with this new 50 project from Paolo Ferragni from Italy.  Two other projects are available from Okean for a 55 and 80 footer.  The Okean 50 and other models seem to want to challenge the likes of Azimut Magellano, and Absolute Navetta series models.  That means the Okean 50 is an explorer inspired design with modern amenities. The Okean 50 versus the Italian competition adds versatility being available with both Volvo IPS pod drives, or V-drive line shaft propulsion, and also present the aft balcony system extending the space use of this area.  Power options for the Okean 50 will be from 300 to 600hp twin diesel engines.  The Okean 50 offers a three cabins lower deck interior, with a living dining and astern galley all located on the main deck.
