Project: Prestige 420 S

The combined experience of Prestige design office; Jernej Jakopin, JP Concepts, and Garroni helped to design the project of the new 420 S. As all Prestige the 420 S combines large internal volumes, and integrate IPS pod drives for offering easy low speed harbor maneuvering. The Prestige 420 S strikes for original plan details in this size but something the French builder has already shown in its bigger models as the 450 series. The astern galley, and the separate entrance for the two cabins to fore and midships, are unique interesting details in this size range. Prestige with the 420 S follows a winning formula with an open and bright living main deck, and a lower floor fully dedicated to the two cabins. Power will be standard Volvo 300hp or twin 370hp units with propulsion being the Volvo forward looking dual propeller IPS pod drives. Max speeds estimates are 33 knots with the large engine option.

New Model: Horizon PC52

Horizon Group is pleased to announce the successful launch of the first PC52 luxury power catamaran; she is scheduled to make her U.S. debut at the 2014 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in end October. Born out of the success of the Horizon PC60, the PC52 retains the signature modern lines, large interior volume, high-quality finish, and sea-keeping abilities of the PC series. She is specifically designed as a blue water cruiser, featuring a highly-refined hull design that was developed from extensive tank testing completed during the PC60’s development, with optimum hull slenderness ratio, waterline to beam, and a generous flybridge clearance. Power is twin Cummins 550hp engines as standard, which offer a slow cruise of 8 knots, cruise of 17 knots and top speed of 22 knots. The owners of the first PC52 worked closely together with Horizon during the build to ensure the power cat suited their cruising lifestyle and needs, a process that took less than a year and a half including tooling time.  PC52 features a wide short of seven meters beam that allows for an expansive main deck area, complete with a fully-equipped galley, salon, storage cabinetry, and bar seating. Three staterooms are found below deck: the master suite in the starboard hull, and the VIP stateroom and twin guest, with a jack-and-jill head, in the port hull. The PC52’s exterior areas are designed for entertaining, with a spacious aft deck and a large flybridge with a full bar plus seating, dinette, bench seat, and helm.

Project: Pearl 65 Flybridge

Pearl presents the project for a 65 Flybridge yacht which will be making its world debut alongside the award-winning 75 at the 2014 Cannes Boat Show.  Just as the Pearl flagship, the 65 follows again the footsteps of the ten feet larger model in a collaboration with award-winning naval architect Bill Dixon and celebrated interior designer, Kelly Hoppen MBE. Since making its debut towards the end of 2012, the flagship, Pearl 75 has been awarded the Best Motor Yacht under 25 meters at the International Yacht and Aviation awards, and received outstanding test reports thanks to its performance, styling and high levels of comfort. For the Pearl 65 Kelly Hoppen continues it's well known effortless, calm and elegant interior style, complete with four luxuriously appointed staterooms. Sleeping quarters for an additional two crew members are located at midships in between the aft located engine room, and the owners stateroom.  The main deck offers an open plan, inside outside saloon allowing for easy, every-day use and alfresco dining. For the 65, Pearl and Bill Dixon opted for a three different propulsion ZF Zeus pods, Volvo IPS, and line shafts. New Model: Pershing 70

Pershing and its always standing designer Fulvio De Simoni has always been a brand which makes subtle forward movements in its careful but yet future looking designs. Yet this just launched 70 seems to bring a novelty at Pershing, coming from the buttresses which integrate into the aft deck from the hard top. It's an interesting design elements which reminds me of the Pershing 88 and 76 models. Two things will be worth to note. Will this be copied as when Pershing introduced the rounded integrated wind screen back in the early nineties, and will we see this in other models. I think it all depends how much this model will sell. On the inside the Pershing 70 continues the evolution design of the brand with a main living on the main deck and three double cabins below in the standard deck plan. A two double cabin plan with only the forward VIP suite, and the owners midships stateroom is also available. In this layout the third cabin is replaced by an L-shaped saloon. The galley is located below, while a crew cabin is located at midships in between the engine room and the owners cabins. Power is twin 1623hp MTU engines with surface drives. Top speed estimates are wide open throttle of 44 knots and a cruise of 39, which give a range of 265 nautical miles.
