New Model: Paul Mann Eighty-One

The biggest model ever to come out of North Carolina's Paul Mann, the 81 feet named Georgia Girl.  Build in the more modern jig method of the cold molding technique, reminding here that Paul Mann is one of the few who also constructs if desired in the more traditional frame and plank.  The new Eighty-One is the proud new flagship of Paul Mann founded in 1988, and beats the not so long ago launched 76 Ann Warwick by five feet.  A first for this model will be the use of Naiad Stabilizers, which on test did little to affect performance.  Her interior will offer five double guest cabins layout all with private heads.  On the main deck is the usual sport fish layout with galley to fore, here ordered in greater size by the owner, and also a day head.  Interiors are finished in sliced cherry veneer which also gave her the price for Cabinetry Awards in Prestigious Design Competition. Power is from twin MTU 2400hp engines which give a top speed of 40 knots.

Project: Sunseeker 28 Metre Yacht

Sunseeker presents the project for the 28 Metre Yacht, a model which will be launched in 2012 and represents a design revolution for this well known British builder.  The 28 Metre Yacht offers surely the higher percentage of window surfaces more then any other Sunseeker in the range, but even though it is a full flybridge yacht her profile is distinctively sports, thanks to the flybridge and longer feel to the fore deck.  Sunseeker also says the 28 Metre Yacht will also have a very high free board, this being used to offer more space.  Inside a four guest cabins layout is show with two separate entrances.  The VIP and owner rooms are located to fore are, with the two guest cabins located to midships.  Crew quarters are aft with two cabins sleeping four on bunks, lobby with L-shaped saloon, small galley, and shower head.  A three part split level saloon offers the usual feature of a yacht this size, saloon and dining, galley, and pilot house to fore.  Power will be from engines up to a combined horsepower of 3900, which give 29 knots estimated max speeds.

New Model: Austin Parker AP54 Fly

Austin Parker presented the 54 Fly in the fall of this year.  This model of this Italian company continues the renovation as started in 2008 with the 42 Open and comes again as all the range from designer Fulvio De Simoni, who presents down East lobster boat looks with a hint of Italian in its looks.  See higher free board, semi extended flybridge, and more modern finished interiors.  None the less the 54 Fly what is the flybridge version of the 2010 presented Austin Parker 52 Open, is in my books very pleasant to the eye.  The flybidge is accessed from a  comfortable stainless steel stair case from the large aft deck, and features a helm station to port side, and a C-shaped settee with aft sun pad to starboard.  Below is the same layout as the 52 with three double cabins located below, with a galley in between in the lower accommodation deck.  A single person crew cabin is located to aft.  There is also a medium sized tender garage which with the bathing platform can carry two not so big personal water craft.  Power is from twin MAN 900hp engines which give a top speed of 33 knots, and a cruise of 28 delivering a range of three hundred nautical miles.

News: Nord West December 2011

POSITIVE FALL 2011
Nord West had a very positive sales period here at the yard since this summer. Our sales figures of both new and second hand boats are in line with the numbers from last year. Apart from keeping up the numbers Nord West has also acquired the Najad yard and the goal since the takeover in middle of October was to quickly introduce the brand at the boat shows, meet with the owners directly and potential clients. It started directly with participation of two important shows, the “Hanseboot” in Hamburg and the Stockholm Boat Show – with both Nord West motorboats and Najad sailboats. An overwhelming interest came in for both Nord West and Najad where the latter was met with an incredible relief to see it back on track. At the yard, incredible enough it started the production of the very first Najad boats sold after only six weeks that will be delivered in the spring as the first “in-house” built, to the very happy new owners.  Nord West and Najad now look forward towards the New Year and will start it off with many exciting boat shows where it hopes to meet with you and your family. If you would like to know more about the models or perhaps would like  to specify a boat after your wishes, please contact Nord West or Najad preferably even before the shows to enable your visit to be as rewarding as possible.
