Improve-it = Horizon E88

A new Horizon E88 was recently delivered by the renowned Taiwan builder.  This model included the optional skylounge.  This E88 is powered by twin MTU 1920hp which gave her a top speed of 23 knots. This particular Horizon E88 included new work from the design team at Taiwan, in keeping with the owner's layout requirements, the galley was moved to aft on the main deck, allowing it to come together with the deck and as one large entertaining space. Forward of the galley lies a dinette, which is separated from the main salon by a beautiful custom-designed partition that can be hidden when desired. Completely forward on the main deck is the owner's office that takes advantage of the expansive windshield windows to offer an amazing view. Below deck are four en-suite staterooms, and crew quarters are found aft of the engines.  Another customer feature of this new Horizon E88 are its height and weight conscious build.  For example, Horizon designed and implemented a folding radar mast that will fold down at the touch of a button, allowing the yacht to travel without "overhead" worry. Project: Horizon RP102

Innovative design and new technology, at the talented hands of Dutch designer Cor D. Rover, has paved the way for Horizon to develop an exceptional Raised Pilothouse concept: the RP102. The Horizon RP102 project features a combination of fluid lines and modern proportions, large glass windows allow natural light to flow into the interior spaces, and her layout offers a symbiosis of owner, guest and service areas, creating the feeling of a much larger yacht. A full beam master stateroom is located on the forward main deck, complete with an en-suite bath. Equally impressive are the RP102's exterior areas; at the touch of a button, the RP102's Sky Terrace, a patented design by Rover, can increase the flybridge deck area by 20% without compromising the yacht's fluid design. A beach club forward of the swim platform offers a space ideal for enjoying the ocean view that is also protected from the sun.  Horizon utilized Computational Fluid Dynamics and scaled model tests to successfully develop the RP102 hull form, which provides 25% less fuel consumption at a 20-knot cruise speed than a conventional planning hull. Horizon RP102 concept design is answer to consumer demand, emphasizing luxury, safety and interior volume within a dual purpose, performance-oriented hull.

Improve-it = Horizon E56

Horizon recently completed a new E56 motoryacht for an Australian client that features a customized layout ideally suited more for the down under continent market.  Important changes have been featured to this model to the galley, master stateroom and exterior areas. This new E56 layout has been added to the collection of flexible layouts offered for this recent addition to the Horizon line.  On this E56's main deck, a large built-in storage cabinet starboard side in the galley has replaced a dinette, as dining will take place mainly on the aft deck; however if a quick bite is all that's needed, a breakfast bar with two seats is incorporated in the galley. Below deck, the master stateroom includes both port and starboard cabinets, with an abundance of storage drawers in each cabinet, in addition to the walk-in closet space on the starboard side. All guest staterooms and interior areas offer carefully-designed lighting and incorporate as much natural light as possible, a characteristic of the E56 model.  On the flybridge, the Volvo joystick has been moved to the starboard side for an improved view when maneuvering, and the BBQ resides on the starboard aft deck, housed within a custom cabinet.  The Horizon E56 is a three double flybridge motor yacht with a full beam owners cabins.  Power is from twin Volvo 700hp engines with IPS pod drives.

Project: Horizon PC58

Horizon from Taiwan seems to be one of the few builders who is putting a lot of projects and models with catamaran, i.e. dual hull shape.  The PC58 project is indeed the fourth power catamaran coming from Horizon of which two are innovative solar powered models.  Currently under construction with the Scrimp infusion method and set to launch by the fall the PC58 is a design by Winchester from Florida for lines and interior, and Lavranos from New Zealand to what concerns the under water shape.  So far Horizon has not given any details but the flybridge and aft deck do look large in the renderings for a boat measuring seventeen meters in length.  Power is to be from twin 600hp Cummins to what is an asymmetrical displacement shape.

Project: Horizon 46 SC

Horizon presents the project of the 46 SunCat. A very interesting proposal for the fact that this is a one hundred per cent clean energy moving craft, which follows what Horizon showcased in the small 23SC about a year ago. But being fair to Horizon here the Sun Cat project is much complicated for the larger size, and more weight which totals 21 tons. The 46 SC is also supported with efficient batteries which totals 48 kWh these being used for propulsion, mooring, and other boating activities. Accommodation is also interesting having a very spacious main deck layout with a saloon having two sofas, an L-shaped galley, and a central helm station. Down below is space for the owners spacious room located in the middle and two shower heads. One of which is for the guests and has a separate entrance.

Project: Horizon 80 AquaCat

Taiwan boat builder Horizon continues to present new range and style of boats which go out of the usual thinking like that of its successful Mediterranean looking Elegance series. This time is turn for a Power Catamaran with the 80 AquaCat which knocks a mini Super Yacht size, thanks to its overall length of eighty one feet. As expected the 80 AquaCat benefits of the usual catamaran advantages of better stability, and less water resistance especially at medium speeds. This last equals to better fuel economy. Horizon also says minimum draft but there data state 1.50 metres which seems a standard and similar to a planning mono hull of this size. Accommodation for this two deck and a half will be for three guest cabins with owners stateroom on the main deck, and two identical VIP suites on the lower deck. Two other twin bunk cabins what look to be for the crew or kids on plan are located to fore peak of the hulls. The two deck and a half 80 AquaCat was designed by Australian architect Mark Ellis who has quite a resume of power catamarans to his name and here presents a twin bulbous hull shape.

Project: Horizon 106 Elegance RP

Horizon introduces the project of the 106 Elegance RP. The new 106 design order is to enrich this specific model line, as customers become more aware of Horizon’s new line of Raised Pilothouse models. Designer, J.C. In order to meet the high-speed requirement, Horizon collaborated with Donald L. Blount and Associates, an internationally recognized naval architecture marine engineering firm, which specializes in fast hull designs, structure calculations and stability evaluation. The goal was to create a comfortable, efficient, and innovative double chine hull providing great performance in both low and high speed ranges.
