New Model: Cranchi M44 ST

Cranchi showed good spirit in the fall of last year presenting four new models in all sizes aiming to upgrade its range to clients new demands.  The M40 ST has been one of the most awaited new models from Cranchi for its size, and comfort.  The M40 ST fills an important hole in Cranchi's sport cruiser range left empty since the demise of the 41 Mediterranee stopped in production in 2002.  The M40 ST impresses for its comfort which is also helped by an overall length which measures 44 feet.  But spaces in the M which stands in fact for Mediterranee and ST for Soft Top abound everywhere; outside and inside.  The interior is spacious in this size and style of sport cruiser offering sleeping for five in two cabins, with an owners room to fore plus two extra berths in the convertible C-shaped saloon.  Cranchi did not follow trends of offering a midships owner room but took the route to offer a three berth cabin here.  Below is also space for a spacious L-shaped galley, plus two heads one of which en-suite for the owner. Standard power is from twin Volvo 330hp with stern dual propeller propulsion which gives a 33 knots max speed.

New Model: Cranchi M35 ST

Cranchi presents the M35 ST, a medium sized hard top sport cruiser based on the hull lines of the 36 Zaffiro.  The M35 ST has been a much waited model from Cranchi, and in fact a hard top 36 Zaffiro was announced a few months after the standard open radar arch model was launched in 2008.  Considering how the demand for this size with hard top has increased Cranchi is late in this regard.  The Cranchi design team while in the works of this new model, also presented a new cockpit design to this model which improves the layout from the 36 Zaffiro.  The entrance to the aft deck on the M35 ST is now moved to port side, and the C-shaped settee is to the opposite and larger. Inside the layout is a copy of the 36 sleeping four plus two in two cabins plus a convertible saloon, with a galley and shower head in the middle.  New large view windows have also been added to the hull side serving the guest cabin to midships.  Power is from twin Volvo 300hp which give a max speed of 34 knots.

Project: Cranchi 58 Fly

The fourth upcoming project to come for 2011 from the Cranchi stable is the 58 Fly, which is also model number four to join the Yacht Class line since this was presented officially two years ago with the Sixty 4 HT.  Just as other Cranchi's the 58 Fly shares hull lines with another model, in this case the fall 2010 launched Fifty 6 Soft Top, but a total different use of space is to be found, especially to what regards the lower deck.  For a boat this size and with IPS pods the 58 Fly accommodation plan is surely one of the most spacious, and which has made the best use of the 2005 launched propulsion system.  Not just because of the three cabins but what each of these offer.  For example both the owners stateroom to midships, and VIP suite located to fore offer a walk in ward robe solution, and this is done without sacrificing any space from the third cabin which still has two single parallel beds.  Surely unheard for a boat this size especially considering the space the owners room to mid ship with breakfast dinette to port by the view window offers. An optional crew cabin located to port side with a separate entrance from the aft deck is also available.  The main deck is also modern in its solution with an astern galley, L-shaped sofa, raised L-shaped dinette, and central single seat helm station.  The flybridge is also well sized offering the today much used layout of C-shaped settee to aft, wet bar with grill, sun pad to fore, and helm station to starboard.  Tender stowage is to be on an up and down hydraulic bathing platform.  Power is from twin Volvo 600 or optional 700hp with IPS pod drive.  Estimated speeds are a max of 34 and a cruise of 26 knots with the bigger 700hp choice.

Projects: Cranchi M 40, Cracnhi M 35, Cranchi 30 Endurance

After making the last two years concentrating on its new Yacht Class line which today features three models and goes up to 66 feet, Cranchi goes into the fall of 2011 in full attack to the sport cruiser market between the thirty and forty feet mark with three upcoming new projects set to launch in Cannes and Genoa.  This is a size which without a doubt showed Cranchi build a strong reputation for quality and reliable boats since the early nineties.  The first of the projects shown above is the M 40, which takes a lot from its exterior looks from the latest new model coming from Cranchi what is the 56 Soft Top. But the M 40 is a huge challenge which represents a size which have given a lot of growth to Cranchi, think models as the 40/41 Mediterranee, or 39 and 41 Endurance.  The M 40 has a lot of strong features from a very spacious aft cockpit deck with sun pad, C-shaped settee, a couple loungers, and dual seat helm station, to a spacious cabin area below.  This sleeps a total of six or seven, in two cabins plus a convertible dinette.  It also features two heads, and a very so far on plan spacious looking galley.  Power for what is an over all sport cruiser of 44 feet in length is from twin Volvo 300 or 330hp engines with dual prop stern drive propulsion.  Speed estimates for a boat weighing close to ten tons dry are of 33 knots max with the twin 330hp engines.
The M 35 is again a hard soft top sport cruiser from Cranchi.  In my thinking this model is the hard top version of the 36 Zaffiro, and  should replace the highly successful and still wanted over one thousand units delivered 34 Zaffiro.  The M 35 does in fact share hull shape from the 36 Zaffiro with an identical length and beam, with the same sleeping six in two cabins including the convertible dinette lower deck layout.  The main deck aft cockpit is still a split level area but has been redesigned with the entrance now moved to port instead of starboard as is the 36, and features an extra lounger and new style wet bar.  Power choices are the same to what the 36 Zaffiro offers from twin 260 to optional 300hp Volvo engines.  Top speed is a 34 knots max with twin 300hp engines.
The Cranchi 30 Endurance continues the legacy created in the eighties by what is a classic from the North East Italian boat builder the 31 Endurance.  With the 30 Endurance Cranchi joins the other Italian builders who think walk around style outside, and a comfortable cabin area below.  This brings a good compromise for a day boat, with good cabin space for a small family to cruise.  In fact the 30 Endurance sleeps four below in a convertible dinette, double berth at midships, and a separate shower head.  The galley is located outside, and a light material sunroof on top of the center helm is also available as optional.  A total of five Volvo engine choices are available in both petrol and diesel from a single 270, to twin 225hp.  Speed estimates are for 32 knots max with a single 320hp petrol engine.

New Model: Cranchi Fifty 6 Soft Top

Cranchi present its second new model for the 2010 season with the Fifty 6 Soft Top launched in Genoa. This new model is third in Cranchi's 2009 launched upper size Yacht Class range, but also number three for using Volvo IPS drive in the family of this Italian builder. Cranchi's Fifty 6 Soft Top, follows recent sport yacht trends for a hard top with a very open feel on the main living cockpit deck. This means a fully opening soft top, and sides opened up to allow fresh air. Measuring an overall length of sixty feet this new Cranchi makes the exterior a very spacious one with the usual layout, C-shaped settee, sunpad aft and an unusal central helm station with two bucket seats. Down below is space for two large cabins, mid ship for the owner, to fore for the VIP guests, and a medium sized third L-shaped bunk for guests, which are joined here by a C-shaped saloon, and galley. Power is from twin Volvo 600 or 700hp engines propelled to the forward looking IPS pods, with both choices giving over 30 knots wide open throttle speeds.

New Model: Cranchi Sixty 6 Flybridge

Cranchi basing itself on the hull of the first model of the new Yacht Class the Sixty 4 HT presents a new flagship with the Sixty 6 Flybridge. As usual to Cranchi good engineering and well planned interior and technical areas make the difference in its models. Unusual characteristics for a flybridge but found in the Sixty 6 are the wet bar galley in the aft deck, the sunpad settee conversion to stern, and the jockey style raised helm station inside. Accommodation is a three double cabins plan plus a single berth crew cabin aft, and as the large window suggests there is a spacious full beam owners stateroom at mid ship. The galley is located below, and although the layout plan shows it being a bit enclosed I still think an option for a main deck choice should be included in this size. The interior main deck saloon looks also a bit less in size versus the competition but large windows and a lot of natural light will give the impression that it is actually bigger, although you do get a larger aft deck for this. The flybridge is again smallish for a twenty meter yacht but then again you have a free area aft which can be used how you want it. Some details also leave me confused in the new Cranchi Sixty 6 Flybridge like the stainless steel radar arch or the support pillars for the overhang of the extended fly. Nothing wrong in these but from a certain point of view they do look a bit economic, and less clean to the lines of the Sixty 6 Flybridge. Power is from twin MAN 1400hp which give wide open throttle speeds of 33 knots.
Technical Data:
LOA - 20.85 m (68.4ft)
Hull Length - 18.65 m

Project: Cranchi Fifty 6 Soft Top

Code named as project P-107, Cranchi presents its third member of the Yacht Class line with the Fify 6 Soft Top. A sport yacht of eighteen metres in length the Fifty 6 Soft Top follows recent Italian trends of offering a hard top Sport Yacht with a very open feel to it. The soft top relaized in special material in fact opens to all of the roof surface of the cockpit, and makes the 56 become a real open experience. For accommodation its lower deck layout offers a three cabins with two heads plan. The owners stateroom is full beam, with the queen sized double berth looking to the sides, a VIP room to fore, and a twin L-shaped bunk third guest cabin. A galley and L-shaped settee complete the lower deck plan. The Fifty 6 Soft Top will also be the second Cranchi hull which follows the 2006 launched 43 model to use the Volvo IPS drives in this case in the larger 800 and 900 versions with 600 and 700hp respectively. Estimated top speeds which are usually very true from Cranchi are a 31 to 33 max with the big Volvo IPS900 700hp option. The standard IPS 800 engine reduces top speed by a knot.

Project: Cranchi Sixty6 Flybridge

After making its larger size debut just a year ago with the 64 Hardtop, Cranchi presents its second project for its ambitious fifty feet plus yacht program with the 66 Flybridge. Scheduled to debut in a couple days in Genoa the Sixty6 Flybridge will be Cranchi's biggest build and continues the styling we have seen with the 64. Huge glass surfaces abound on the 66, and the flybridge space seems also very large, although seating spaces seems to be limited, with the aft area left free. An optional hard top is also available for the fly. The main deck saloon seems an extension of what we have seen on the 64, with similar spaces and larger windows, left free of the galley which is located below. Accommodation is a total of four cabins, all located below. A full beam owners stateroom to mid ship, VIP suite to fore, third two single guest cabin to port side, and a fourth crew cabin with private shower heads located to aft. The layout of the aft deck is sport yacht inspired, although the semi glass, and fibre roof on top will remind you this is a flybridge yacht. Here is a nice wet bar, and a C-shaped settee with part sunbed. Power is from twin MAN 1400hp engines which should deliver a 33 knots max speed, and a 29 knots cruise.

New Model: Cranchi Sixty 4 HT

With over two thousand deliveries of over twelve metres Cranchi from 1988 since today, it was only a matter of time, thinking and effort for the Italian builder to go over its since the year 2000 reached fifty feet limit and create the new Sixty 4 HT flagship. The official decision to go bigger was taken in 2005, and since then Cranchi built a whole new establishment, its fourth named Seventy Plant Four able to construct boats larger to fifty feet from the new Yacht Class range with extreme efficiency and productive manner. The larger size expansion plan also meant more investment to Cranchi test centre which has been updated with a new marina, and bigger 100 ton travel lift. Cranchi 64 HT over four years in the making has a lot to say in the way it was come up to be. But also in itself has much to tell offering an all inclusive fully over equipped Sport Yacht. This Sport Yacht has more to what a normal yachtsman would ask as standard, and comes complete with more then one would desire like hydraulic bow stern thrusters, water maker, night vision, and aft winches. Then there is the technical unique details to mention with the hardtop made in collaboration with Webasto taking first attention, followed by the fully opening patio to the aft deck, side door by the helm to the side deck, opening side windows in the interior saloon, shower on the fore deck, and up down bathing platform. Worth to note that the main central patio door and side door, have electric opening with a back up manual system for emergency. Spaciousness is also found in this three double guest cabin Sport Yacht, but it is not only measured in centimeters in that or this area, but most notably in compartments which open up everywhere onboard. Here Cranchi never abandoning its small boats heritage sure know a thing or two, and put it to very good use on its new biggest offer. Another first for Cranchi is also the choice of its engines with the 64 HT being powered by twin MAN 1400hp with standard shaft propulsion. This choice moves away from the Volvo marriage the Italian builder has on its smaller models since I can remember. Speeds are for a 35 knots max, with a 32 knots cruise, these being obtained with prototype hull number one which was powered by smaller MAN 1360hp engines. Aldo Cranchi and the yard research and technical department opted for a construction in traditional fiberglass ways with hand laid solid single skin bottom, and sandwich core hull for the sides, and some parts of the topsides.

Project: Cranchi Sixty 4 HT

News of Cranchi projecting a bigger boat has been surfacing a lot in recent years. The Italian company bigger size was stopped at fifty foot with the introduction of the 50 Mediterranee back in 2000. Now finally the Sixty 4 HT has arrived and here PowerYachtBlog shows the project rendering. Named first as Project C-96 the new flagship will be an open hard top boat, projected entirely by Cranchi's own Research Studies and Style Centre. The North Italian builder also constructed a special factory totalling 30.000 square metres all catered for the production of its new big flagship. Like many recent hard top sport yachts the Sixty 4 HT, will have its living on the main deck, which is separated from the aft deck thanks to the patio door. Down below accommodation is for three en-suited cabins, with a full beam owners cabin offering also the much desired large view windows. The galley is also located on the lower deck, and aft there is a fully equipped single person crew cabin. Propulsion will be for traditional in line shafts.

New Model: Cranchi 32 Zaffiro HT

Cranchi new Master Cruiser HT line starts with the introduction of the new 32 Zaffiro HT model. The HT version is based on the standard 32 Zaffiro and similar in all, but with the addition of rigid protection in the central cockpit, under the helm station. A 36 Zaffiro HT with a similar concept is also on the works, and will be the second in this new line by the Italian builder. Still from a renowned firm as Cranchi, I would have been of the idea that this new line could be the input of more modern hard top looks, then this actual design which looks more like a sport fisher then a modern hard top boat, with the thinking going that the Pelican models already do a similar job to this.

New Model: Cranchi 29 Zaffiro

Another new model from the fleet of novelties that famous Italian builder Cranchi has unveiled during 2008. Cranchi 29 Zaffiro is the new small entry level in the Master Cruiser range, which starts from the baby 28 and goes up to the 36 Zaffiro. The new 29 Zaffiro is an interesting entry level model from Cranchi, aimed at those new boaters who want comfort in not so big dimensions, but also for those owners coming from a day boat experience wanting to own a cabin boat. Sober contemporary classic modern looking 29 Zaffiro has some bonuses on its side not found on boats this size, like a very spacious exterior cockpit giving the feeling of a much bigger boat, the modern touch of the big view windows for each of the sleeping cabins, and last but very important especially for trading up owners from smaller boats the twin engine option. Inside the 29 Zaffiro has the classic layout for this size, that of a 2 + 2 berth interior, coming from a convertible v-shaped settee forward and a spacious cabin mid ship. Speed is a max of 32 knots with the twin diesel engine option of D3 Volvo of 190 hp each. Range with the same engines is for 165 nautical miles or about 7 hours at a cruising speed of about 24 knots.

New Model: Cranchi 43 Atlantique

A much waited new model, from well known Italian builder Cranchi is the 43 Atlantique, fitting in the Flybridge Yacht range, between hard standing 40 and 50 Atlantique models. The hull lines of the new Cranchi motor cruiser are based on the 43 Mediterranee, with a similar planned lower deck, offering 2 cabins and 2 heads with master cabin to fore, but with the mid guest cabin offering a more family orientated 2 single berths. As the 43 Mediterranee, the new 43 Atlantique uses IPS propulsion, the successful Pod drive from Volvo, which has seen great use on express open or hard top cruisers and yachts, but so far the flybridge boats with this system are very limited. 43 Atlantique will surely gain on better consumption and performace with the use of IPS, compared to similar flybridge cruisers who still use conventional shafts. As all recent Cranchis, this new model continues the family design by Aldo Cranchi, who presents a modern flybridge motor cruiser with a Mediterranean feel. 43 Atlantique is powered by twin Volvo IPS 500 or 600 of 435 hp, with the later option topping speeds of 35 knots max, and a 30 knots cruising which give an economical consumption of 53 litres per hour engine.
Technical Data:
LOA - 13.8 m (45.2ft)

Projects: Cranchi 43 Atlantique, Cranchi 36 Zaffiro HT, Cranchi 33 Endurance, Cranchi 29 Zaffiro

Four new projects from World renowned Italian builder Cranchi, scheduled for debut in 2009 with two being of completely new concept, and the remaining based on existing models. The 43 Atlantique project is semi new, having hull and propulsion taken from the 43 Mediterranee model. Designed as all recent Cranchi models by Aldo Cranchi, this 13 metre flybridge cruiser project fills the gap between the long standing 40 and 50 Atlantique models. Accommodation is a 4 berths 2 cabins, 2 heads layout, with galley down. The main saloon has an l-shaped settee, which if desired can transform to an extra double berth. Furnishings and fittings are in a modern minimal style detail. 43 Atlantique uses Volvo modern and much marketed IPS pod propulsion, a rare choice so far from most of the main stream builders, as what regards flybridge boats. The option is for IPS 500 or 600, with the later giving estimated top speeds of 35 knots. Consumption, the main IPS advantage is a low of 106 litres per hour at 30 knots cruising. New version for the Zaffiro 36, presented a year ago by Cranchi, adding the much requested hard top over the helm area. The hard top although similar to the 36 Pelican is different, having the new 36 Zaffiro HT a more sporty design profile. Still with so much competition lately, mostly offering integrated designs, our thought is that Cranchi could have done something better then putting a GRP mould supported with a metal frame for the new 36 Zaffiro HT version.
A new Endurance is always good news from Cranchi, being this range of Sportier Cruisers, with big exterior areas having a huge following. The 33 Endurance project looks a nice aggressive looking boat, with big central windows allowing for maximum light inside. The deck of the boat is well planned with a big sun lounger aft, l-shaped settee dinette, double helm station to starboard and another passenger seat to port. Inside we have a transformable vee berth to fore, surprisingly spacious head with separate shower stall to port, galley to starboard and double mid ship cabin. Performance is a 37 knots max with the smaller diesel option of twin D4 300 hp each. A more powerful twin D6 of 330 hp each will be available as optional for higher thrill seekers. Entry level Sport Cruiser project for Cranchi Master Cruiser line, is this new 29 Zaffiro. This new 29 Zaffiro surprises thanks to the new modern big side windows located to fore, a rare design for this size giving loads of natural light inside. A spacious boat inside and outside, the 29 Zaffiro redesigns and recaptures space. It's outside cockpit looks spacious with a big c-shaped settee reminiscent of bigger boats, a wet bar and a sun lounger next to the helm area.
