Azimut Selected for Compasso D'Oro Award

Magellano 25 Metri has been included in the ADI Design Index, the coveted annual list of the world’s best products that will be candidates for the Compasso D’Oro Award.  The yacht born from the collaboration between the shipyard, Ken Freivokh and Vincenzo De Cotiis is therefore a candidate for this most prestigious of international awards, created in 1954 by Gio Ponti, together with the most fascinating projects in every sector.  Confirming the unique features of a product that has set a new benchmark for design and is the first crossover in the yachting world, Magellano 25 Metri by Azimut Yachts will compete for the upcoming Compasso d’Oro, the long-running design award whose Historical Collection has been recognised as of exceptional artistic and historical interest by the Italian Ministry of Culture and included in the national heritage. The yacht’s inclusion in the ADI Design Index, the list of the year’s best creations selected by the storied association, is the first step in competing for the award.  The ADI’s Permanent Observatory - a panel of experts, designers, critics, historians and journalists - has recognised the original feature of the project, expressed by the union of chic and timeless lines designed by Ken Freivokh, a point of reference in the yachting world and the creator of a Collection that has revolutionised the sector, and the interiors created by world famous architect and important exponent of collectible art Vincenzo De Cotiis.  The two protagonists behind Magellano 25 Metri, innovators by nature in their respective fields, have created a unique yacht, a work of seagoing art that stands out for a singular perception of spatial depth and continuous visual contact with the sea. An unusual feature of the design is the widespread use of “artistic fibreglass”, created with an elaborate artisanal process, which is given a new lease of life here and becomes an aesthetic feature, paired with materials and woods like brushed Verde Alpi marble, dark walnut wood, carpet, polished brass, and lacquered or ribbed wood.  The furnishings have flowing designs and seamless curving lines, the fabrics on board are by Loro Piana Interiors, and the hull is an original burnished petrol blue colour with a mustard beauty stripe.

Congratulations to the crew on Singularis for placing third in the Nantucket Bluefin Blast on September 19th! 590 tuna were released in the tournament, and Singularis ended the day with 31 bluefin releases to secure third place. Singularis made the most of their time fishing up north; the crew scored big with a 700 pound catch just a few days after the tournament. The bluefin tuna was 108 inches long and put up a 2.5 hour fight.

Bering Teams Up with Trasco Bremen

Bering Yachts and Trasco Bremen, the world’s leading commercial builder of armoured vehicles with over 35 years of experience, are proud to announce a collaboration for protecting specific areas aboard Bering explorer yachts. The aim of the partnership is to provide discerning owners with comfort and autonomy combined with added on-board safety so they and their families can cruise remote locations with complete peace of mind. Steel-hulled Bering yachts are already renowned for their rugged construction, but shielding the most critical areas with bullet proof materials– such as the wheelhouse or engine room, as well as vital machinery or the navigational, communication and alarm systems – offers ultimate protection against unwanted intrusion.

Evo Yachts Boat Builder Award Finalist

At the 2021 Boat Builder Awards Evo Yacht and Besenzoni make to the final thanks to an amazing teamwork. The two Italian Companies are among the finalists at the 2021 Boat Builder Awards, in the category "Collaborative Solutions between Boat or Superyacht Builder and its Supply Chain Partner".  The jury was favorably impressed by the result of this collaboration that led, on board the new Evo V8, to the development of new tailor-made solutions that are both aestetically pleasant and incredibly effective.  Starting from already existing product offered by Besenzoni, shipyard and designer Valerio Rivellini managed to create new solutions, and event customize some of the products, to adapt them to the yacht’s peculiar design.  Winners will be announced on November 17th, during the Amsterdam METS 2021, but for the two Companies this final is already an incredible recognition, celebrating the amazing results that can be achieved when two nautical excellences come together to collaborate.

Feadship Refit Services Busy Winter Ahead

In a huge milestone for the Refit and Services programme that Feadship officially began offering in 2018, at least ten yachts are arriving in the Netherlands for a winter season of refurbishments, upgrades and renovations at the four Feadship yards. To most of the yachts originally built by Feadship, it will be a homecoming, as wherever practical the yachts will return to the yards of their launch.  Some vessels are yachts from other northern European yards whose owners are also Feadship clients, according to Pier Posthuma de Boer, Refit & Services Director. These projects will bring updates to yachts as new as the well-traveled 2018 Sherpa and the hard-working Gallant Lady launched in 1996. Work booked ranges from routine service and warranty work or class-required surveys to major refits to systems and interiors, says Posthuma de Boer.

Ferretti Group Record Breaking September

Ferretti Group’s incredible 2021 continues with a record-breaking September and an order intake in the first three quarters of the year exceeding 900 million euros, of which over 220 million in September alone. Strong growth is reported in steel and aluminium superyachts, built at the Ancona Superyacht Yard, rewarding the Riva and Pershing superyacht projects and confirming CRN as one of the most active players in the segment.  Ferretti Group delivered over 160 boats from January to September 2021, including the spectacular Riva Fifty. 50 metres long, M/Y “Fifty” was developed by the Riva Superyacht Division to offer an outstanding cruising experience defined by comfort, attention to detail and an evolved vision of life at sea: values that have made Riva a legendary name in international yachting for the last 179 years.  “2021 for Ferretti Group is like one of those wonderful films that make you dream from beginning to end,” commented Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. “It got off to a great start and is continuing to deliver spectacular results, with great plot twists like this outstanding performance put in by steel and aluminium superyachts. But the excitement isn’t over yet, with a few more months of nice surprises ahead and what is bound to be a grand finale.”

Frauscher Representation in Ibiza

The Frauscher shipyard has a new partner in Ibiza. Haller Experiences specialises in rental and sale of day cruiser and water toys. From spring 2022, Haller Experiences will expand its exclusive charter fleet with a Frauscher 1212 Ghost and two Frauscher 1414 Demon Air. Johannes Haller, founder and managing director of Haller Experiences: "We offer individual and unique experiences in Ibiza and Formentera. With Frauscher boats, our portfolio takes on a new quality in terms of elegance and comfort that our customers will appreciate." Stefan Frauscher, Frauscher shipyard: "In Haller Experiences we have found a perfect partner who is, just like Frauscher, committed to innovation. Our mission is to set standards in international boat building. To achieve this, our engineers regularly fuse new technologies with contemporary design and living craftsmanship traditions." The young team around Johannes Haller turns charter trips into an experience. The cooperation with Frauscher was therefore a logical step, as unforgettable experiences are also the goal of the "engineers of emotions". With the 1414 Demon Air, they impressively prove it: on deck, the 14-metre long offshore yacht has an inviting lounge area with bar and a spacious bathing platform. Inside the yacht there is a large seating area with a kitchenette, a bathroom and a cabin in which up to four people can stay overnight.

Frauscher Comes to Denmark

The Frauscher Shipyard is pleased to announce it has an agent in Ishøj, Denmark. As of now, the experienced yacht broker Tempo Bådsalg will include the Frauscher brand in its product range. Starting next season, test drives of the 858 Fantom Air will be possible for any Danes who are interested.  Stewart Moeliker-Twigg, Tempo Bådsalg: "Our goal has always been to sell top quality products combined with fantastic performance. When the Frauscher Shipyard came knocking at our door, a collaboration was obvious to us - especially since we already have a Frauscher 1017 GT and a 1017 GT Air on site."  Stefan Frauscher, Frauscher Shipyard: "We are proud to have found a professional partner in Northern Europe with Tempo Bådsalg, who also supports our philosophy. This is an important step in the expansion of our distribution network."  Tempo Bådsalg is one of Denmark's leading yacht dealers. The dedicated service and experienced sales team working alongside managing directors Stewart Moeliker-Twigg, Gert Sørensen and Henrik Jørgensen have been fulfilling customers' nautical dreams for over thirty years. The company's infrastructure includes its own harbour with 120 berths, a crane, 2,000 m2 of exhibition space and a winter storage facility.  The addition of Frauscher to their portfolio was a logical step towards continuing to meet the highest of customer needs in the future. After all, the mission of the Frauscher Shipyard is to set standards in international boatbuilding at an international level. In order to achieve this the engineers at the family-run Austrian boat manufacturer regularly blend new technologies with contemporary design and living traditions in craftsmanship.

Horizon Next Level Construction and Testing

The Horizon Group continues to pioneer the evolution of advanced composite yacht construction as the world’s first and only yacht builder to implement a variety of Non-Destructive-Testing (NDT) methods. For two decades, Horizon has been pioneering the advancement of composite yacht construction through the efforts of its subsidiary Atech Composites. Founded in 2000, Atech specializes in advanced composites, producing not only the hull, decks and superstructure of every Horizon yacht, but also providing Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) components across multiple industries in Asia and beyond.  Atech has been behind such notable achievements as the world-record infusion of a 140ft yacht hull in a single shot and many award-winning cross-industry composite components from wind turbine blades to high-speed rail cars. In 2004, Atech developed an improved 3D resin infusion technology that transforms the original 2D resin flow on surfaces to 3D flow, which climbs up and down internal stiffeners, enabling the build of far larger structures than previously possible.

She had emigrated from Belgium only a few short years earlier.  Maritimo Production Manager, Kym Fleet, who works closely with Zoe said one of her key strengths is that nothing is too hard or difficult for her to tackle.  “We are all very proud of her.”  As for her future Zoe says she is keen to take on a leadership role at Maritimo and in the boating industry generally. She says she also wants to encourage more females into the industry.  “We have an impressive line-up of apprentices at Maritimo and the win by Zoe is really a recognition not only of her skills and work ethos, but also that of all our young people, “ said Candler.  “They are the future of our industry and I can honestly say we feel it could not be in better hands.”

Riviera Awarded Queensland Export Awards 2021

Australia’s luxury motor yacht builder Riviera has been honoured for outstanding international success in manufacturing at the Premier of Queensland Export Awards 2021, the state’s most prestigious industry awards.  Riviera was named winner of the Manufacturing and Advanced Materials Award category at a gala presentation in Brisbane this week.  The category recognises and acknowledges the growing popularity of Riviera motor yachts which are acclaimed globally for their innovative design, premium luxury, superior engineering and performance.  Riviera exports more than 60 per cent of the 120 motor yachts it builds each year from the company’s state-of-the-art Gold Coast facility. The motor yachts are designed and built by a specialist team of more than 850 master craftspeople on site at the largest facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere.  This latest government award exemplifies what has been a year of stellar achievements for Riviera, including the company’s largest shipment ever to the United States which is currently under way. The shipment, comprising seven luxury motor yachts valued at more than $20 million, will land in the US on October 20 with five of the motor yachts destined for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Riviera will present its largest international showcase of 2021 at Fort Lauderdale with 10 yachts on display.  “On behalf of our exceptional team at Riviera, we are delighted to have been honoured in this year’s Queensland Exporter of the Year Awards,” said Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst.  “We are fiercely proud to be an Australian company, creating motor yachts that are today truly world-class in terms of their design, technology, performance and luxury finishes.  “2021 has been a year of challenges and achievement for Riviera and this award is recognition of the magnificent work by our team to create and deliver the outstanding Riviera motor yachts of today, the best we have ever built.”  Riviera has a 38-year history of exporting motor yachts to the world, starting with the first shipment to the United States in 1983 and followed by the first shipment to Europe a year later.  The company, which was founded in 1980, has built more than 5,750 motor yachts over the past 41 years with many of these motor yachts now cruising the Mediterranean, Pacific, Caribbean and the Great Lakes and coastal waters of North and South America.  The Riviera range spans 39 to 78 feet with 24 models from six distinctive Riviera model collections. This year, Riviera announced a new flagship of the fleet, the 78 Motor Yacht, the first of which is currently being built in preparation for her world premiere in early 2022.  Riviera was among 36 Queensland companies selected as a finalist from 160 entries received for this year’s Premier of Queensland Export Awards.  As a winner of one of 13 award categories, Riviera is now a finalist for the Australian Export and Investment Awards, held by Austrade on November 25.

The marina is located within an enclave of two premium residential islands in the heart of Panama City.  “We are delighted to be joining the global Riviera network and to be caring for current and new Riviera owners in the best marina location in Panama City,” said Mr Gomez.  “The marina is home to some of the most luxurious motor yachts in the country, offering beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the Panama City skyline – the perfect location to showcase Riviera’s luxury motor yachts.” AlphaBlue Marine will draw on Mr Gomez’s extensive experience in Panama working with a broad range of luxury marques.  “Our vision is to become a leader in the luxury business and lifestyle sector for premium quality automobiles, motorbikes, yachting and aviation, and we are thrilled to be appointed to the Riviera motor yachts partnership.”  “A partnership combining the excellence of Riviera motor yachts with our knowledge and focus on the luxury market in Panama through AlphaBlue Marine will provide a boating experience with a new level of care and support.”  Since 2016, Mr Gomez has successfully launched and represented Maserati in Panama and is the authorised importer for Lamborghini and McLaren. He also represents Italian furniture icons B&B Italia and Maxalto. Mr Gomez says Riviera aligns perfectly with this vision.  “Riviera is a company that is in constant evolution, continually refining and launching new models, all with a clear vision and objective to be the best in the world,” said Mr Gomez. “Our existing clients appreciate everything that Riviera has to offer and they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first new motor yacht into Panama.”  The AlphaBlue team is supported by Mr Gomez’s wealth of personal experience gained through a 37-year career with Procter & Gamble, most recently as Senior Regional Vice President of Latin America.  AlphaBlue Marine clients will be supported by a service team supervised by an AlphaBlue technical director. Further support will be provided by the group’s existing team and systems.  Panama, a country that straddles the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, offers some of the best leisure boating and fishing destinations in Central America, making it perfectly suited to Riviera’s expansive range of 24 models in six individual collections, from the 39 Open Flybridge to the new 78 Motor Yacht.  “From Panama, you are within easy reach of many beautiful boating destinations, including island resorts, where you can enjoy pleasure boating, fishing or simply entertaining aboard, and that’s where Riviera really excels,” said Mr Gomez.  “You can cruise to so many places and, with Costa Rica and other parts of Central America so close, more people are now starting to enjoy this kind of extended boating. Panama is increasingly becoming more like Puerto Rico, and we will see that evolve considerably in the coming years.”  The opening of the new AlphaBlue office has been set to meet the Panamanian summer season which lasts from November through to May. “We are opening at the best time for the Panama boating season,” said Mr Gomez.  AlphaBlue plans to host exclusive high-end events for Riviera owners throughout the year.  “We look forward to meeting current Riviera owners,” said Mr Gomez. “Events are very popular here, and after the lockdowns and restrictions we have been experiencing, there will be many people looking forward to getting out and boating.”  Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst welcomed Mr Gomez and the AlphaBlue team to Riviera’s global representative network.  “We look forward to working with AlphaBlue to bring the Riviera luxury motor yacht experience to Panama,” said Mr Longhurst.  “Gerald brings a passion to our network that aligns with our desire to provide superior service and support and create the ultimate boating experience for Riviera owners around the world.  “With more Riviera motor yachts now cruising the Americas, AlphaBlue will further strengthen the support for our current owners while welcoming new yacht owners to the Riviera family.”

Either way, we will be ready to present the Sirena superyacht range in Monaco next year!”  Based in Istanbul, Sirena Marine produces award-winning sailboats under the Azuree and Euphoria brands, and luxury motoryachts under the Sirena Yachts brand. Viking at Second Annual Mongo Offshore Challenge

A combination of Vikings dominated the 2nd Annual Mongo Offshore Challenge with 1st Place finishes in the Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna and Mahi divisions. It Just Takes Time weighed the heaviest blue marlin with a 793-pound fish cranked in by Nick Pratt on his Viking 72. The Viking 92 High Cotton took 3rd Place Blue with a 681-pounder. Fleur de Lis, a Viking 80, won the Swordfish category with Zac Taylor’s 271.9-pound sword during a three-day fun fishing trip focused on white marlin – which switched over to swords at night. The 3rd Place Swordfish was awarded to the Viking 64 Titan Up with their 254.1-pound target. A 231.1-pound yellowfin won the Viking 70 Quick Time 1st Place Tuna. C-Student, a Viking 66, claimed 1st Place Mahi with a 44.6-pound fish. The 132-boat fleet represented all five Gulf Coast states with more than 2,000 anglers. Teams competed as often as desired for five months with weights collected from 20 official weigh stations and approved big game tournaments throughout the Gulf. This event is challenging because the minimum size limits are set high. For example, a blue marlin must be a minimum of 118”, this makes the weighed fish huMONGOus.

Can you improve perfection?  Definitely yes, and this is what Pershing has done with the new 6X, the fifth model to come of the X-series which arrived in 2016, and fourth generation of a hull which is over fifteen years old.  Yes the Pershing 6X, is an evolution of what was born as the 56 in 2005, then evolving in the 58 in 2011, becoming the 62 in 2013 and now in this new 2021 version becomes the 6X.  Designed by Fulvio de Simoni, the Pershing 6X is the least X of the fives, missing the wings which characterize all other four models.  She is in fact a soft design evolution of the 62, with changes coming in the hard-top design now extended further aft, and the top sides windows having a tad different and larger profile.  Other improvements happen in both the sun-pad and social areas, with the fore deck now extended to use more space, including the edition of two chaise lounges further forward.  Other aesthetic changes is the edition of large glaze windows on hull sides now larger and same to the other X-models design.  For the remaining the 6X keeps the same interior layout as the 62 with the choice of two or three cabins in the lower deck, with changes in details and colours.  Performance as is Pershing since over thirty years is fast, with the 6X reaching top speeds up to 48 knots with twin Man 1550hp engines couple to Top System surface drives.

Victor B Porter 1931 - 2021

Victor B. Porter, Chairman Emeritus of Formula Boats/Thunderbird Products, Decatur, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021. He was born February 3, 1931, and on June 1, 1950, he married Kristine Striker, his bride of 71 years. Vic Porter spent over sixty years in the boating industry. From small-town beginnings to larger-than-life reality, Vic’s story is truly the American dream.  Vic Porter’s early career ventures included mobile homes sales, real estate, and his own business, Vic’s Frozen Food Center and Center Ice Cream. An entrepreneur at heart, Vic felt the urge to start down a new path, and in 1958, that decision led him to his place in the marine industry today. Interesting developments followed each move Vic made throughout the past 60-plus years.  In 1958, Vic started a boat company, Duo, Inc., to manufacture fiberglass boats in his converted ice cream plant with three employees. His first model, the Volare, was a catamaran equipped with two outboard motors. In 1959, the hundredth boat was built, and the Hepcat, a trimaran, was introduced. Vic was president, and also doubled as sales manager. The following three years, Vic developed the Catfish and monohull runabout design X-Series and F-Series boats. By 1962, Duo Inc. was booming. Vic now had 30 employees who built 20 boats per week. Business continued to expand in a new 18,000-square-foot facility with plans to double capacity. In 1962, Vic developed a V-hull boat series for a better ride. 1964 marked Vic’s first million-dollar year, and in 1965 the plant grew to 100,000 square feet and employed 185 people. 1966 was a whirlwind year and Vic travelled nonstop for a month, visiting 21 cities and numerous dealers to promote and sell his product. Duo, Inc. caught the eye of Starcraft Corporation, a larger, regional boat company, and in 1966 Vic sold Duo, remaining for a time as president. Vic’s entrepreneurial urge surfaced again, and he decided to captain a new ship in 1970.  Signa Corporation was the next step in Vic’s developing career. Manufacturing tri-hull boats in a 20,000-square-foot facility with 50 employees, it wasn’t long before Vic’s second successful boat company attracted the attention of investors. In 1973, Fuqua Industries purchased Signa Corporation. Fuqua had previously purchased Thunderbird Products and Formula Boats in 1969. Vic was named chairman of the small boat group, with $3 million in sales reported that year. Fuqua Industries manufactured the three small boat lines, including both Signa tri-hulls and Formula deep-V hull boats, through 1975.  Once again, Vic felt the need to head up a company all his own, and took advantage of the opportunity created by an energy crisis. In 1976, Vic purchased the small boat group from Fuqua Industries. Vic continued the company as Thunderbird Products, manufacturing the Signa and Formula boat lines. In 1979, Signa tri-hull production was ended, as market advancement indicated heavy preference for the deep-V hull Formula boats. The same year marked Thunderbird Products’ introduction of the Formula 302, a special edition offshore performance boat. In every direction, Vic led the company, creativity prevailed and successful innovation followed.  Vic made it a point during his boating career to be involved in the best interests of the industry. He was active in the BIA when it merged with the NAEBM to become the NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association) in 1979. During his years at Signa and at Thunderbird/Formula, Vic served both the BIA and the NMMA in various board positions.  In 1980, integrated, continuous cockpit liners improved both structure and design flow. 1982 marked Formula’s first use of Imron® hull graphics. In 1984, as an industry first, Thunderbird Products innovated and installed curved, tempered glass windshields. Also that year, the Silent Thunder exhaust system was introduced. In 1988, a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility was completed — 345,000 square feet to manufacture the highest quality powerboats possible with a dedicated workforce of 600 employees. From facility additions to the development of new boat lines – Sun Sports in 1994, FAS³Techs in 1997, Super Sports in 1999, Yachts in 2002, Crossovers in 2012, and the Flagship of the Formula lineup, the 500 Super Sport Crossover in 2021 Vic led the company with imagination and integrity into a model business manufacturing today’s prestigious Formula Boats. Vic was often seen in the manufacturing area and in the office. Vic’s entrepreneurial spirit took him, his family and his business to places he only imagined.  Vic remained happily married to his wife of 71 years, Kristine. Together they have six children, five of whom are actively involved in the Formula Boats business. Vic and Kris have 17 grandchildren, and over the years have seen interest in the company flow into the third generation; six grandchildren full time and a fourth generation employed as summer help. Vic and Kris have also been blessed with 19 great-grandchildren.  Vic appreciated the support of his community, family and employees throughout his life, and responded with personal involvement. Over the years he served with a number of organizations in various capacities such as the local Chamber of Commerce, including serving as president, in many areas with his church, area Boy Scouts, and helping spearhead the development and funding of Decatur’s Industrial Park. Vic was Adams County’s Republican Party chairman from 1973-1975, and was on the board of directors of the county hospital. In earlier years he was a volunteer fireman and helped coordinate a high school drug awareness program. He also served on the board of directors of Indiana Central College, the Cole Foundation Board and on various committees of the National Marine Manufacturers Association. The Porter Family Foundation provides philanthropic funding to local schools, churches and charities and provided the seed money for the formation of Woodcrest, a local not-for-profit retirement community. The Foundation donated the land for the new hospital in Decatur, as well as aiding substantially in funding an oncology center. He and Kristine also established an ongoing fund through the Adams County Community Foundation to benefit community projects. Over the years, Vic Porter’s service and entrepreneurial spirit gained recognition. In 1964, Vic received the Outstanding Young Businessman Award from the Decatur Chamber of Commerce, and in 1990, Vic was a finalist for the Indiana Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was that year’s recipient of the Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award, recognizing his outstanding involvement and contributions in his community and state. In 1994, the board of directors of Woodcrest chose the Porter name for the auditorium there, and in 1997, Vic was awarded the Stephen Decatur Community Service Award. In 2000, Thunderbird earned the Large Business of the Year Award. In 2012, Vic was inducted into Junior Achievement's Greater Fort Wayne Business Hall of Fame.  2016 marked the celebration of Indiana's 200th birthday. Vic was honored for his community involvement and contributions and was asked to participate in the monumental event. He was chosen to be a torchbearer for the Indiana Bicentenial Torch Relay, was held from September 9 through October 15. 2,200 torchbearers represented all 92 Indiana counties. Vic carried the torch by boat for 1/3 mile through Decatur.  October 16, 2016 marked Vic's induction to the NMMA Hall of Fame. The National Marine Manufacturers Association Hall of Fame was established in 1988 to recognize and honor individuals who have made or continue to make substantial contributions towards the advancement of the marine Industry. One has to be nominated and meet criteria that take many decades of dedication, effort and passion for the industry. Vic had clearly demonstrated a lifetime love for boating and striving to advance the industry.  As gratifying as all this is, his greatest satisfaction surely was that his family is carrying on in full accord with his example of living and giving, as well as continuing the business with the same values and goals he established.   His goal was to build a viable, Decatur-based, boat manufacturing company, and from the looks of it, mission accomplished. From small-town beginnings to the personally fulfilling present, Vic spent his time well, as proven by his business success and family following.

Project: Absolute 56 Fly

The result of engineering innovation, Italian design and a passion for details, enters the latest project by Absolute the Piacenza-based shipyard is called 56 Fly.  Featuring a strong, confident personality, 56 Fly was created to be noticed and to fascinate boat owners with a proven mix of comfort and fine design, but also innovation, functionality and on-board convenience.  “Charisma” encapsulates the essence of Absolute’s new craft, which brings together and builds on the most successful features of previous boats. With 56 Fly, Absolute has undertaken intense Research and Design work to enhance those hallmarks, including the revolution of the Flybridge Generation 2022 that began with the 60 Fly launched in 2021, which introduced a new construction approach developed to ensure freedom of movement, ultimate versatility and liveability.  Along with a relaxing bow area with sun loungers and sofa, the outer aft areas are free of fixed elements, so they can be easily furnished as desired. To meet all needs, Absolute provides modular, versatile décor solutions for the entire range.  The visual boundaries between the boat and the sea vanish thanks to a transparent parapet in the cockpit, the open gunwales and the large windows with electric winder in the lounge area.  The magnetic personality of 56 FLY is also expressed in its interiors, featuring comfortable, modern spaces, inspired by Absolute’s signature focus on ease of use.  Liveability culminates in a full beam owner’s cabin at the bow, designed to provide ultimate privacy and comfort, but also an outstanding view through panoramic windows; its interiors are embellished with sophisticated design, transparent details between cabin and bathroom and textural contrasts. As spacious as a second owner’s cabin, the VIP cabin is also full beam. The sleeping area is completed by a third full-feature cabin with single beds, complete with every comfort and with the same ceiling height as the other cabins.  Freedom of movement is the common thread throughout the interiors, connected by sliding doors and enhanced by surprisingly large windows for breath-taking morning views, with plenty of natural light flooding into the cabins.  There are numerous stowage areas to improve comfort in the sleeping area as in the living area, which also features a contemporary kitchen.  No power details are given for the Absolute 56 Fly as yet.
