New Model: Pershing 7X

The predecessor to the X range, the Pershing 70, get a make over and becomes the 7X.  A project of all time Pershing designer Fulvio de Simoni, the 7X made its debut at the German Dusseldorf boat show January 2020. The 7X is full on Pershing style from top to bottom, with an aggressive fifty knots performance reached from twin Man 1800hp engines coupled to Top System surface drives.  The Pershing 7X offers a standard three double cabins lower deck, with master stateroom at mid ships, a VIP suite forward, and a twin berth guest cabin to starboard.  Saloon and living is on the main deck while an enclosed galley is located to port side as one arrives in the lower deck.  The Pershing 7X also features an alternative lower deck layout of two cabins, with large L-shaped sofa replacing the third cabin.  A crew cabin is located to port side in between the engine room and midships owners stateroom.

Improve-it = Hatteras GT70

Hatteras give us a preview rendering of the Enclosed-Bridge GT70 Convertible presented at the 2020 Miami Yacht Show as this article is going online.  This is another take on the already legendary Hatteras GT70 with the enclosed bridge offering apart a protected central helm, an L-shaped dinette to starboard, wetbar to port, and a view mezzanine settee outside, and mini docking station. The GT70 offers a five stateroom four head lower deck arrangement.  Power comes from twin Cats 1825hp which offer a cruise range between mid thirties and up to forty knots of top end speed.  The Hatteras GT70 modified Vee hull shape offers stable speed that cuts through any wave.

Project: Windy 37 Shamal

With modern retro-styling the new Windy 37 Shamal is set to emulate the success of the legendary Khamsin.  Designed by the internationally acclaimed yacht designer Espen Øino and steeped in Windy’s core DNA, the Shamal celebrates ease of use boating in 21st century style and grand comfort. The focus of the Windy 37 Shamal is on a spacious cockpit, superb hull and excellent handling.  Inspired by the Windy models built in the Sixties and Seventies, Espen Øino and his team have developed a fantastic design language with high comfort and technology brought right up to date.  Conceived primarily as a dayboat, the Windy 37 Shamal has a spacious two cabin arrangement. There is a large forward cabin with a double bed and a roomy center cabin with twin beds. The 37 Shamal’s deep, safe cockpit is both social and versatile. New Model: Bertram 50 Hardtop

It is magic when a new Bertram model is out, and here is hull one of the first 50 making its first sea trial before being presented at the 2020 Miami boat show.  Hull one of the Bertram 50 was fitted as a cruiser version, meaning no tower and outriggers.  The 50 is a sleek machine which pays a lot of respect to the history of Bertram, see broken shear line, and important fore deck.  But the new Bertram also looks at the future with a variety of options and apart the sportfish or cruiser fittings, the 50 will also be available in an Open variant, while the Hardtop version can also be specified with a fully enclosed patio door.  The Bertram 50 features a lower deck layout with galley, saloon dinette, two cabins, and two heads; owners cabin forward with en-suite bath to starboard, guest cabin with twin bunk berths to port and private shower head.  The Bertram 50 is powered by twin Cats 1150hp and at testing hull one has peaked at a whooping 43 knots.

Project: Dynamiq G 300

Super yacht builder Dynamiq present the project of the G 300, where in this case the letter G means for Global.  The Dynamiq Global 300 is created for families looking for a modern and fast explorer yacht that allows them to go everywhere and visit as many places as possible. Although engineered to cross Atlantic, the G 300 can enter any bay thanks to her compact size and shallow draft of under two meters. With a length just over thirty meters and four crew, the G 300 is economical to operate but has a generous volume of 200 Gross Tonnage. The  Dynamiq G 300 offers a four spacious staterooms layout, including an owner’s suite located at midships. The Dynamiq G 300 has the amenities of larger explorers, including the biggest sundeck in her class and a transformable sundeck salon with a fireplace to enjoy on cooler evenings. Built on Dynamiq's Epiq platform with a fast-displacement round bilge hull, the G 300 is the epitome of a gentlemen’s explorer yacht in a user-friendly package.  The Dynamiq G 300 is powered by twin Man 1200hp which will allow her to reach top speeds up to nineteen knots, cruise at 16, and have a long range of three thousand nautical miles at ten knots.

Bertram Gets Slammed During Port Stephens Shootout

A nineteen meter Bertram sportfish yacht titled m/y Game Changer with six persons onboard ended getting heavily slammed by four meter high breaking waves in a bar crossing at Port Stephens, to the South East of Australia, on the morning of fifteen February.  A video on social media hub Facebook showed Game Changer slamming hard up to six times.  The slamming to the Bertram sportfish also released its life raft from the fore deck, and also stuck her in the sand-bar for some seconds and turning its engines off.  Game Changer though managed to return power and then make it in limp mode to the harbour, even though some reports are saying it damaged its running gear. This accident happened during the opening day of the 2020 Port Stephens Billfish Shootout which featured 162 participant boats.
Game Changer is a 2006 Bertram 630 model designed by Zuccon.  Launched in 2004 the Bertram 630 offered a four double cabins layout, with an owner room to port side midships and was powered by twin Cat or MTU 1500 to 2000hp engines, for up to forty knots speeds.  A replacement to the Dave Napier designed 60 launched in 1990, Bertram build over thirty 630s from 2004 till 10 replacing it with the 64 in 2012.

New Model: Horizon FD102

Hull One of the brand new Horizon FD102 was presented to her owners during a surprise christening ceremony on New Year’s Eve. The owners and friends traveled from France to Kaohsiung, Taiwan for the ceremony. While the guests were enjoying a New Year’s Eve dinner at the Horizon City Marina, the yacht quietly approached the dock and was a sight to behold for the new owners. The owners and their guests were welcomed aboard with champagne for the christening ceremony and the celebration continued aboard the yacht, as the party cruised south for the drone light show at the Dream Mall and New Year countdown. Completed within an impressive twelve month build period and classed to Bureau Veritas, the FD102 Hull One boasts an overall length of just over 33 meters and accommodates a voluminous interior within seven meter plus beam. Fitted with innovative amenities throughout, the Horizon FD102 is configured with double salons, an on-deck master stateroom and a spacious four-stateroom layout on the lower deck. Powered by twin MTUs of 1600hp each, the FD102 achieves a maximum speed of sixteen knots with a range of 2490nm at a  ten knot cruise. Since the model was first announced, three FD102 yachts have been sold, with Hull Two scheduled to deliver to her American owners this summer followed by Hull Three in the early fall.

Project: Westport 117 Raised Pilothouse

New Model: Cranchi Settantotto

During the Dusseldorf 2020 boat show Cranchi launched its awaited Settantotto flagship.  Coming from a design of Christian Grande this new Cranchi flagship expands the Italian boat builder size to 78 feet with its largest ever build before this being the stopped in production 66 launched in 2010.  The Settantotto sees Cranchi knock to the super yacht territory size, with a modern flybridge motor yacht featuring all the latest amenities and design features, with fore deck dinette and stylish integrated hard top on the flybridge included.  The lower deck of the Cranchi Settantotto is of a traditional full beam owners midships stateroom, VIP suite forward, and two guest cabins in between layout.  The main deck is of a traditional Italian layout with a welcoming sofa lounge on entrance, dining table for eight, an enclosed galley to starboard, a day head to port and pilot station forward.  The Cranchi Settantotto is powered by triple Volvo 1000hp engines, with forward looking dual propeller IPS pod drives.  Cranchi is the first major boat builder to follow the Azimut triple engine set up which it launched with the 55S in 2012 and today powers three models in the S range, and the 78 flybridge launched in the fall of 2019.

Project: Pardo Endurance 60

Following the worldwide success of the open walk-around cruiser and yacht range, with more than one hundred Pardo 38, 43 and 50 sold in just two years.  Pardo are ready to launch a new challenge on the market: Endurance 60, the first model of a new range which already encapsulates its concept in the name Endurance and proposes the “trawler” philosophy under a new light of style and elegance. The name Endurance was chosen because this new boat has long-range navigation in its DNA. It brings to mind resistance over time, performance connected with good safe navigation for many miles with low consumption. The concept of Endurance is also connected to a use of the boat for the longest possible time in maximum comfort, so that the owner can enjoy time in the best possible way. This new 60-footer has required maximum effort in terms of research, study and design for the Technical Department of Cantiere del Pardo, which availed of the collaboration of Davide Leone for the naval architecture and hull lines and Nauta Design for the interior design.  The Pardo 60 Endurance will offer a three double cabins layout, with full beam midships owners stateroom, VIP suite forward cabin, third guest cabin with en-suite head to port side.  A two berth crew cabin with shower head is located aft.  All living entertainment will be located on the main deck and Pardo Endurance 60 will come equipped with an astern galley layout.  The model will also feature opening side bulk-heads aft to both side, increase the outside area spaces when at anchor.  The Endurance 60 although very secluded from view features a flybridge with helm station to starboard and a lot of sun-pads.  The Pardo Endurance 60 is powered by Volvo 550hp or 700hp engines with IPS pod propulsion.  Top speeds are estimated up to 25 knots.
