Improve-it = Hatteras 100RPH

In July 2019 Hatteras delivered the fifth and last of the 100RPH series.  The fifth hull was named M/Y Optimus and is the most customized build of this semi custom thirty meter super yacht.  The most apparent of the customization are the hull extension of over two meters for an extra aft cockpit lowered deck usable also for fishing, and the electric blue custom paint for the flybridge top, radar arch, and side supports.  The Hatteras 100RPH comes from a collaboration with Italian designer Enrico Gobbi, and featured interior choices for five or four double cabins.  Power for the 100RPH is from standard twin Cats 1900hp or optional MTU 2600hp engines.  The 100 is to be replaced by the 105RPH of which the first hull is currently under construction.

Project: Baglietto 43m Explorer

Baglietto present the project for a 43m Explorer designed by the Italian firm Santa Maria Magnolfi, who conceived a view to creating a real Explorer Yacht capable of ensuring maximum seaworthiness, comfort and safety in all sea conditions. The yacht was therefore designed after a painstaking analysis of all the features and functions required to use the super yacht all year round, in any possible climate, building on the stylistic heritage of different sectors: that of work boats, that of warships and, obviously, the world of yachting.  The watchword for this model is flexibility; the shipyard presenting the project including a landing pad for helicopter, this version is thought for an owner who likes to enjoy fishing or sailing with a small boat. Thus, new ideas have been worked out to satisfy different requests.  The 58 sq. m upper deck is entirely reserved for the owner. Depending on the needs, access to the entrance salon may be open to everyone or, alternatively, be limited, to obtain an entirely private deck. The size of the master cabin is truly unrivaled for a yacht in this class. The glazed surfaces on three sides offer an impressive open view forward. This version hosts outside on this deck, besides the enlarged dining area for 12 people, a 28 sport fisherman boat as well as a 6 meter rescue tender. The area is extremely versatile, as it can be fitted out to host glamorous parties or, conversely, be furnished with very simple, functional furniture when the dinghies are in the water.  A panoramic area with sofa and table has been placed in the bow area.  On the main deck, the large full-beam salon features an almost square layout and has ceiling-high windows on the bulwarks. The aft part has been completely redesigned in this version; moving the tenders up has given the possibility to open the back space and get a cozy conversation area under the shadow with a panoramic view and easy access to the sea thanks to a transformer system.  A winter garden, an area that is considered as “outdoor” but is in fact enclosed by glazed surfaces and air conditioned, works as a filter between the salon and the aft area. Being in a low center of gravity position, the winter garden can also be used as a salon when cruising in bad weather conditions or as a TV room.  The lower deck offers four guest cabins. Aft there is a wine cellar with controlled temperature and humidity and a cold room fully dedicated to the fish storage.  The interiors are characterized by large glazed surfaces letting in plenty of natural light and ensuring a constant interaction with the outside environment and landscape. Vertical elements with metal finishes convey a sense of safety and sturdiness indoors too and, alternating with the pleasant shades of natural materials, create the perfect backdrop for objects coming from far-away countries and telling compelling stories of remote lands, just like a Captain’s logbook. It is like an uninterrupted tale, where different experiences blend to breathe life into a harmonious atmosphere. Italian marbles and exotic woods are combined with ancient Moroccan straw mats and Indian silk fabrics; the large display cabinets and the wide shelves have been specifically designed to showcase precious objects gathered from seas across the globe. The utmost care has been devoted to the tiniest details throughout the yacht, so as to take guests on long, wonderful voyages in a variety of climate and sea conditions, making no compromises while always ensuring maximum on-board comfort.  The exteriors are often modular and can therefore be adapted to different needs: the outdoor dining area on the upper deck can be closed on the sides by means of sliding glazed doors.  An external staircase allows to reach the sundeck, which is a real observation area, furnished with a sunbed area but featuring a much more minimal style, with teak having been replaced by polished flooring, typical of ice breakers and work boats. On this deck stands a bridge house that has been designed using tubular elements drawing inspiration from the military world but featuring an elegant restyling and sophisticated finishes. The bridge house now works as a lifting platform, resulting in an observation point from which the Owner and his guests can catch sight of whales or simply enjoy the view.  On-board, there are separate, dedicated routes and staircases for the guests and the crew across all decks. The crew can use three direct exits, one on a bulwark on the main deck, one forward in the anchor area, and one on the navigation bridge. On the latter, the spacious 36 square meters deck house with indoor wings and a walk-around console is ideal for long-range cruises, also thanks to the glazed finish ensuring unmatched visibility and breathtaking views. The crew quarters develop over two decks and feature several areas, such as a laundry, storage areas and cold rooms, allowing to cover long stretches at sea without intermediate calls.

New Launch: Benetti 108 meter FB275

The final installment of Benetti’s Giga Season kicks off as the yard announces the successful delivery of the 108 meter flagship Giga yacht FB275, the longest yacht ever built by Benetti. Featuring exterior design and decor by RWD and interiors by Benetti’s in-house design team. Onboard amenities such as her large swimming pool, on board cinema, fire pit and treasure trove of water toys make her live up to her Giga yacht status.  FB275 is the longest of three hundred plus meter super yachts built simultaneously by Benetti at its Italian facilities.  The 108-metre flagship departed Benetti’s yard in Livorno on July 26.  The departure of FB275 marks a significant milestone for the leading Italian shipyard. With a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and a naval architecture by Pierluigi Ausonio, the 108-metre FB275 is the longest Giga yacht ever to be delivered by Benetti. She features 14.5 meters beam, a draft of 4.4 meters and a gross tonnage of 3,367 tonnes. After four sea trials she is now accredited with Lloyd Certification.  With a fuel tank capacity of 345,000 liters and powerful twin MTU 3862hp engines, she has a maximum speed of 18.5 knots and an autonomous range of 6500 nm at 14 knots. Benetti’s new flagship Giga yacht also boasts an electric Schottel stern SPJ pump jet to enable the yacht to travel distances powered entirely by electric propulsion.  From the large heated swimming pool on the Main Deck to her treasure trove of yacht toys and tenders accommodated on board, the FB275 is a Giga yacht built for embracing the very best of the yacht life. In addition to her two fourteen meter tenders together with a  ten meter custom tender and a total of eight jet skis, she boasts more than 1000 square meters entirely devoted to outdoor living spaces. The Observation Deck is a highlight on board, providing breathtaking evenings under the stars, while on the Bridge Deck a 1.5-metre fire pit sets the scene for cosy nights at sea. The Owner’s Deck features its own private al fresco dining and relaxation areas, while on the Main Deck a vast dining table provides the perfect setting for an evening of al fresco fine dining. FB275 accommodates up to 22 guests on board in absolute comfort and luxury, tended to by a yacht crew of 29.  The Benetti’s Giga Season officially kicked off with the builds of three 100+ metre Giga yachts at the Benetti facilities in Italy. To rise to the enormous challenge of building three luxury Giga yachts of this size concurrently, Benetti heavily invested in their company processes, as well as their Livorno facilities. A fully ENAC – Italian Civil Aviation Authority – compliant helipad was installed for the comfort and convenience of clients and their staff, while two new 58.5 x 137-metre sheds enabled Benetti to massively increase its productivity. Both sheds are equipped with two gantry cranes with a maximum capacity of 40 tonnes.  The development by Benetti of the three Giga yachts construction program has also required the creation of an exceptional team of experts specialized in large yacht construction. Benetti is one of the very few shipyards in the world with the capabilities to build yachts exceeding 100-meters in length. This is part of a long-term plan for Benetti, and it is, indeed, the dawn of the Giga yacht in Italy. For the first time, an Italian private yard will be a serious competitor in the international 100+ meter luxury yacht market. With FB275 now delivered to her owners, the handover of the 107-metre FB277 will follow shortly, followed by the delivery of FB272 in the second half of the year.
