Propulsion: Yanmar ZT370

Yanmar is launching a full line-up of 4LV sterndrive marine diesel engine models to complete its highly-acclaimed 4LV series of ultra-refined common rail engines. The new 150 to 250hp five-engine range combines with the new Yanmar ZT370 sterndrive to offer exceptional acceleration, fuel efficiency, remarkably quiet operation, and low vibration to suit a wide variety of vessels. Complementing the Yanmar 4LV inboard engine range introduced earlier this year, the corresponding 150Z/170Z/195Z/230Z/250Z horsepower sterndrive models feature the very latest in electronically-managed CR fuel injection systems. This next generation system uses Thermo Swing Wall Insulation technology to provide maximum thermal efficiency, leading to more complete combustion, adding efficiency in fuel consumption, torque and lowered emissions. The 150 to 250hp power range marine diesel engines are all based on an identical engine block with the same dimensions and weight, making it easy for boat builders to install various options.  The new models are fitted with the Yanmar ZT370 sterndrive with hydraulic multi-disc clutch for exceptionally smooth and quiet gear engagement, plus standard Exo hard-anodization coating to provide exceptional protection against corrosion. Ensuring optimal performance for a range of boats for recreational and light duty commercial applications, the ZT370 sterndrive is available in various gear ratios. Other features include precision-forged gears with extra-long service life, the choice of electrical or mechanical shift models, and an integrated exhaust system.

Mulder New Web Site

Dutch yacht builder Mulder presents its new virtual showroom aimed at presenting its unique range of steel builds to the global community. Founded in 1938 by Dirk Mulder Senior this Dutch leading boating family of designers and builders has grown itself into a rather unique company offering also a diverse product range. When Dirk Mulder Senior founded the company at the still actual premises he was only 27 years old. The first builds at Mulder where of wood and sailing craft type, but the company also started to construct yachts with steel a few years after its founding. With steel always becoming more predominant in the builds in 1953 Mulder launched its first complete motor powered boat with the 7.50 Baby Favorite, followed in 1955 by a complete three models range of power boats. In the sixties the company extended the range with the success of the Super Favorite, building for a good period at least one every month of the new bigger three model range. In the seventies Mulder delivered its last sailing yacht at twelve meters in size, and started dedicating full concentration to motor powered boats. At the period Dirk Mulder also started to take it more easy and gave yard operations to an outside manager until 1984, when 22 year old Dirk Robert Mulder Junior took over the leading position, which he baptized with the launch of the three different sized Favorite Super range, marking also the return to a classic flared bow. The nineties began the expansion of bigger sizes, but also the use of new construction methods for the Mulder yachts upper structure now build of steel or alloy. In the end of the nineties a new Futura range designed by the A1 team and consisting of more modern looks was launched. The company has after this seen an expansion in sizes which culminated with the delivery of the Mulder 88 in 2001. In April 2013 Mulder new building facility was opened. Today Mulder offers seven ranges of models: Bellagio, Convertible, Custom Build, Favorite, Flybridge, Futura, and Voyager, which start at fifteen meter and go up to the custom Thirty Six launched in 2017. New Launch: Benetti 107 meter FB277

On December 18th 2018, in Livorno Benetti successfully launched FB277, a 107 meters motor yacht, the biggest ever built in Italy by a private shipyard. Powered by a diesel electric propulsion system, the yacht’s interiors and exterior have been designed entirely in house by Benetti and managed by Imperial, acting as Owner’s Representative, Build Supervisor and Yacht Manager of the vessel. The giga yacht has a hull constructed in steel and a superstructure of aluminium. She features a large swimming pool on the Sun Deck, a grand piano, a Spa, massage room and gym and a touch and go helipad. Her maximum beam is 15.2 meters and she has a full load displacement of 3,300t.  The giga yacht FB277 is a stunning creation of epic proportions. From the exterior, her elongated and linear profile, emphasized by balanced ribbons of glazing, speak to the admirer of contemporary and minimal design. Her strong plumb bow is businesslike and rooted in the practical need to tackle swelling seas with ease and comfort. Here also, a vast helicopter pad makes for uncomplicated landings. To the stern each gently staggered deck ends in graceful sweep downwards.  In terms of guest facilities FB277 covers all the bases, adding delights guests might not have even thought to indulge in during their seafaring adventures. On the wheelhouse deck the master cabin is a sumptuous full beam size, flanked by identical port and starboard balconies leading on to vast dressing rooms and an interconnected bathroom. The upper deck saloon, aft of this suite, is perfect for unwinding at the end of a long day, listening to the grand piano or watching a movie on the private sofa. On the main deck, seven huge VIP cabins, each with a large bathroom, are placed forward of the spacious main dining and saloon area. A mesmerizing spiral staircase with a full height inner atrium intersects each deck. Half of the lower deck and some space on the under lower deck has been set aside for generous amounts of crew accommodation.  A spacious beach club has access to the sea on both sides of the beam, as well as to stern, creating a huge connection with nature. The ship’s connecting spa area is equipped with a gym and a massage room. Large areas of deck satisfy the sun lovers: the top deck features seating and sun pads for those who favour a view, whilst the sun deck accommodates dining areas, more sun pads and a huge pool that can hold about 21,000 liters. More outdoor seating is found on the wheelhouse deck and aft on the main deck.  Finally delivery of the yacht is expected to take place in Summer 2019. Benetti’s Giga yacht construction program, which includes two other giga yachts in build and due to be launched in the next few months, has been the subject of major investment at the shipyard. An ambitious business plan has prompted financial input of more than fifteen million euros in infrastructure, organisation, safety and security, to overcome the challenges presented by building such giga yachts. The development by Benetti of the Giga yacht construction program has also required the creation of a special team of experts in this specific type of project. Expansion at the Livorno shipyard, in the form of two new generation steel structure sheds, have enabled Benetti to massively increase its productivity.
