Project: Marex 310 Sun Cruiser

Marex continue to upgrade its smart looking hard top sport cruiser range and presents the project for a new 310 Sun Cruiser.  This new project has very similar looks to Marex current 375 model flagship with the main difference being that it is not a fully enclosed hard top model, meaning that it is open at the back.  The 310 Sun Cruiser also features a galley down layout in between the two cabins.  With the 310 Sun Cruiser Marex return to a single engine installation a philosophy it has embraced on most of its models minus the new 375 flagship.  The hard-top of the 310 is of a fully extended design covering most of the cockpit deck, with built in integrated solar panels.  Standard power is Volvo 300hp single engine unit with V-drive line shaft propulsion and estimated max speeds of 31 knots.

New Model: Nimbus 405 Flybridge

Nimbus from Sweden have always been about presenting practical and utilitarian style cruisers, and the 405 Flybridge does not escape this important rule.  Based on the Coupe with the same designation, the 405 Flybridge is Nimbus current largest model and impresses for its low profile and ninble looks. The 405 Flybridge is also a comfortable cruiser offering three spacious cabins and two heads below.  All the living of the 405 Flybridge is centered on the main deck, with a galley to starboard side located behind the interior helm station and opposite the C-shaped dinette to port. Flybridge access is from a ladder to port side.  The flybridge offers a moving dual seat helm station to port, C-shaped dinette and a sun-pad.  Power is twin Volvo 300hp or optional 370hp units with reliable and traditional line shaft propulsion.

Project: Sunseeker 68 Predator Mk.II

Sunseeker presents the project for a new Predator 68 Mk.II, or should be Mk.III if we include the 2000s 68?  Anyways Sunseeker is calling the new 68 Predator Mk.II so we go on with that name. The 68 Predator includes a re-styled interior and modified exterior lines looking as much similar as Sunseeker current best selling 57 Predator model on steroids. Yes including in the new 68 Predator Mk.II are the never ending hull side windows which get bigger the more you move aft.  The 68 Predator Mk.II will also feature other details from the 57 as the disappearing lower patio door which turns the cockpit into a fully enclosed deck into one fully open. Below deck the new 68 Predator Mk.II features three spacious en-suite cabins, comprising of a midships master room, starboard twin and forward VIP, all equipped with individually controllable entertainment systems.  Behind the 68 Predator Mk.II transom below the sun pad is a tender garage providing the space to house a tender or jet ski with a hydraulic lifting platform to make launching effortless.  Sunseeker 68 Predator Mk.II is powered by standard Man 1200hp engines giving cruise speed of 24 knots and a range of 300 nautical miles. Alternatively is the Man 1550hp engines option, available with shaft or Arneson surface drives with this last choice giving speeds up to 43 knots.

New Model: Steeler Panorama FF48 Offshore

Steeler's new Panorama FF48 is the planning version of the FF46. The FF48 is made of aluminium and has a planing underwater hull with and an extended swimming platform. Cruising speeds of over twenty knots are combined with extremely efficient fuel consumption.  The Panorama Flat Floor concept is characterized by the spacious nature of the yacht, with an accommodation area of about twice that of conventional motor yachts. MAN presents its latest generation of six-cylinder engine designed to be used in yachts and trawlers up to seventeen meters in length, as well as in sport fishing boats. The basic six-cylinder engine has been tried and tested many hundreds of thousands of times in a wide range of on and off-road machinery since it was first introduced in 2007. Modified especially for the use in pleasure craft, the six-cylinder in-line engine 800hp i6-800 has a cylinder capacity of 12.4 l available for light duty operations.  The future-proof i6-800 yacht engine is based on the D2676 model, also have a modern common rail system offering up to 1800 bar for high mean pressures and optimized combustion. This enables MAN engineers to achieve lower vibrations and noise emissions along with reduced fuel consumption. To ensure compliance with strict emissions legislation, MAN shares information and data on a regular basis with institutions including the US Environmental Protection Agency and the International Maritime Organization.  The new yacht engines also offer the broad torque plateau that is characteristic for MAN marine engines generating 2700 Nm at between 1200 and 2100 rpm. This provides maximum torque over a broad engine speed range at the lowest specific fuel consumption, achieving consistent acceleration and a fast and efficient planing.  MAN’s design engineers came up with an optional design cover for the six-cylinder engine, ensuring to fulfil the criteria of elegance and high performance. The sophisticated and timeless design of the perfectly shaped engine stays within the style of modern luxury yachts.  For naval architects the new six-cylinder inline engines come in MAN’s typically compact 1800 x 922 x 1103 mm design and have an even more streamlined oil pan design. With a dry weight of 1200 kg, the new generation of engines also has an improved power to weight ratio.  The the MAN marine diesel engines i6-800 is based on the D2676 and is set to replace the predecessor model R6-800 based on the D2876 in the medium term.

New Model: Sanlorenzo SL78

Sanlorenzo replaces the mythical nearly two decades produced 72 with the new entry level SL78 born as project SL76 in 2015.  Just as the new SL86 launched last year in Cannes the new SL78 is designed by the studio of Mauro Mucheli's Officina Italiana, a collaboration which should bring a new era from the highly esteemed Italian motor and super yacht builder.  Micheli the man behind the new Riva's from the 1990's onward till today, brings a fresh approach to Sanlorenzo conservative style, from larger window profiles to the sheer line which in both these new models features a soft cut in order to allow for full visibility from the saloon windows.  Some Sanlorenzo traits are still kept, as the split level saloon, separate galley area, and the hardtop which now comes from the larger models into the smaller ones.  Another appreciated solution of the new SL78 will be a free space on the flybridge with tender located in a garage aft.  Just before the fall 2016 boat show season kicked off in Cannes, Sanlorenzo had three further SL78 being built.

Project: Canados 88 Evolution

Since coming into new ownership at the end of 2015 Canados has been coming with a host of new projects.  Now the Rome builder of Ostia presents the project for the new 88 Evolution, a renewed model for its 86 which sold in 46 units in a production span of just over ten years. This makes the Canados 86 its best selling model to date. Apart a more modem look the Canados 88 versus the 86 will offer larger window surfaces especially to what concerns the main deck, and an option for a hard top on the flybridge.  What should not change in the 88 versus the 86 is surely the customization of the yacht, and also the good balanced sea keeping.  Performance wise the Canados 88 has estimated top speeds of 32 knots with 1900hp Man or 1925hp Cat engines.

New Model: Benetti 116 Mediterraneo

At the end of August Benetti launched hull number one of the 116 Mediterraneo, a new model for its semi custom Class Displacement line, which starts with the 93 Delfino and goes up to the 145 Vision model.  Standing at over 35 meters in length the 116 Mediterraneo is a design of Italy's new hot designer Giorgio Maria Cassetta, who went for the classic Benetti looks as evoked since the nineties by the famous Italian super yacht builder. The new 116 Mediterraneo features a lot of intelligent solutions made to extend space, and have no interrupted views from the living areas.  Power comes from twin Man 1400hp engines which give max speeds up to 15 knots.  Three further hulls are already in construction as before the fall boat show season started.

Project: Galeon 460 Fly

After the high reviews of the 500 Fly and its opening side bulk heads, Galeon is showing it is one of the most innovative builders of the moment with the project for a 460 Fly designed by the Polish builders long standing British designer Tony Castro.  Indeed like the 500 series the 460 Fly will also have opening side bulk heads, showing that for Galeon this concept is here to stay. The 460 will also feature a clever fore deck settee where by the port side bench can slide outward on the side deck in order to increase room.  The 460 Fly will feature a three cabin lower deck layout with full beam owners room, forward double and third bunk cabin to starboard.  Living is all concentrated on the main deck with an astern galley layout.  Power options is a variety of Volvo options starting from twin 435hp up to 650hp and IPS pod or line shaft U-drive propulsion.  The large Volvo 650hp choice is only available with IPS.

New Model: Gulf Craft 55 Nomad

Gulf Craft continue to expand its Nomad explorer yacht range with the introduction for a new 55 feet entry level model.  The new 55 Nomad impresses for the spaces it offers in all areas, for a yacht which measures just seventeen meters in over all length.  A prime example in this is its four cabin lower deck layout, an unusual feat for a yacht with this size.  But also other impressive best in size spacious areas like the flybridge and fore-deck area.  The 55 Nomad as the picture above shows also features opening side balconies to aft.  Power is twin 690hp or optional 800hp units.
