New Model: Horizon RP120

With exterior from US designer JC Espinosa and featuring the latest in a low-resistance hull for superior performance the new Horizon RP120 surprises for its contemporary looks.  For the inteior Horizon worked with famed Italian designer Luca Dini to create a contemporary and elegant atmosphere. While there is a strong European influence in the RP120, her styling also emphasizes comfort and usability, and the customized design details aim to complement the open layout. Dini chose to utilize Breeze Oak as the main wood, the light, neutral gray wood brings to mind a modern beach house surrounded by sand and sea, inspiring a feeling of tranquility throughout.  Focusing on contemporary luxury, the Horizon RP120 features a five en suite stateroom layout and numerous indoor spaces that are suited for entertaining guests either day or night. The main salon incorporates a custom bar and the formal dining easily accommodates ten guests, while a fully-equipped galley and large storage area ensure cruising trips will be well-provisioned. Forward on the main deck, the Master stateroom includes a King-sized bed, walk-in closet, and a full-beam Master head just a few steps down from the stateroom. Below deck, four guest staterooms are split between two mirrored VIP staterooms and two twin guest staterooms.  The Horizon RP120’s exterior concentrates on providing multiple areas for lounging. From the boat deck sunbed, sofa and Jacuzzi to the bow dinette and sun-pads, there is no shortage of space to relax and take in the view. While underway, the RP120 can be piloted from a helm on the fly-bridge or from within the raised pilothouse, which provides a protected spot away from the elements.

Project: Codecasa 50 mt

Codecasa presents a new 50 meter concept for a three deck super yacht. Similar in lines to the Codecasa 51, the new 50 meter will feature looks associated with the family owned and managed Viareggio boat builder, with a very muscular hull and high bow being recognizable signatures of the household name since the 1990's.  The rendering above shows other sporty signature as shown in the very well criticized 51 as the grey super structure and smoked windows.  The Codecasa 50 mt is to be built with a steel hull, and an alloy super structure and is a fully custom project.

New Model: Riviera 57 Enclosed Flybridge

I like to call some of the recent motor yachts coming from down under as World boats, due to them of being able to unite the sport-fishing American and European yachting style ways.  Riviera has led the way in this style in the last decade, and its new 52 and 57 Enclosed Flybridge continue to step up into this direction.  The 57 just as the smaller 52 offers a versatile accommodation plan; from a very living sport-fishing inspired aft deck, the Europe must have astern galley, and the enclosed bridge which is a must for long term cruising heavy sun or rain.  A three cabin lower deck has a lot of interesting amenities, including a spacious full beam midships owner room, a VIP fore cabin, and a bunk third cabin.  This last considering the dimensions might be a bit of a let down in this size for some.  Still Riviera does this due to the central position of the engines, with a lot of thought being made for centre of gravity at low planning speed, see near identical range at 31 or 16-21 knots.  The engine position indeed does not change much, whether you choose IPS pod drives or the classic reliability of the line shaft.

Projects: Tecnomar Evo 55 HT, Tecnomar Evo 55 Open

Tecnomar looks back in returning to offering a 55 feet sport yacht.  While the Massa boat builder made the turn of the century making name above the eighty feet size, in the nineties its was much or more about the TB58 model.  Designed by architect Gian Marco Campanino the Tecnomar Evo 55 has the looks of a modern runabout, see axe bow and will be offered in HT for hardtop or Open versions.  The Evo 55 will also have three different interior options; which differ from a big lounge layout, to a single cabin, and the option of one crew cabin at midships with a separate dinette.  Power comes from Volvo 725hp, or 900hp units with IPS pods with speeds going up to 40 knots with the large engine option.

New Model: Baglietto 46m Fast

On Saturday May 7 Baglietto lanched the 46 m, hull #10221, marking the birth of the La Spezia-based boat builder’s new Fast line. This super yacht is an evolution of previous models, but also ensuring great continuity with the brand’s tradition, the result of Baglietto’s cooperation with Francesco Paszkowski Design.  The launch ceremony took place at sunset at the Baglietto shipyard at the presence of the Baglietto top management and workforce as well as local authorities as the Major of La Spezia Massimo Federici, the President of Confindustria La Spezia Francesca Cozzani, the President of the Port Authority Lorenzo Forceri.  Following in the wake of the sleek aluminium planing yachts that have made the brand’s success all over the world, the new 46 m Fast stands out for its streamlined bow and rakish lines expressing a strong personality, but can also boasting an imposing stern, thereby maintaining the family feeling with previous Baglietto yachts. The trapeze-shaped windows in the hull alternate with rectangular ones arranged on two different levels, enhancing the slender shape of the hull and giving a more contemporary touch to the yacht’s highly charming outer profile. Another new element characterizing the exterior lines is the compact shape of the superstructure, which is not too high to enhance aerodynamic penetration.  When designing this new Fast, great care was also devoted to maximizing the outdoor areas, so as to allow passengers to be in closer contact with the sea when both cruising and at anchor, and to enjoy conviviality in the open air. The aft area of the upper deck is indeed like a huge open terrace overlooking the sea: featuring teak floors, it can be furnished with a large table and a spacious sunbathing area.  Fitting-out operations are now about to be completed in the interiors, which have once more been penciled by Design firm Paszkowski and architect Margherita Casprini and stand out for incredibly spacious volumes for a planing super yacht of this size.  The warm shades of rosewood alternate with the colder white lacquered ceiling and side panels, resulting in very refined, contemporary, stylish interiors. The traditional layout offers four en-suite guest cabins on the lower deck, and the master suite featuring an office, a dressing room, and the bathroom located on the main deck. The upper deck is large enough to host a comfortable salon with lounge area, the captain’s cabin, and the helm station, while the crew quarters, on the lower deck, include four twin cabins plus a single cabin and the dinette.  The yacht, entirely built in aluminium, will be pushed to a maximum speed of approximately 28 knots by twin MTU 4615hp engines. It is classified with Lloyd’s Register of Shipping and compliant to MCA standards. During the evening guests could visit the 43m Pachamama and the latest launch of 54m M/Y Unicorn. The Baglietto 46m Fast will be a worldwide premier at the next Cannes and Monaco Boat Shows.

Project: Steeler NG75

Steeler from the Netherlands is a builder which has been making a lot of headlines in recent months due to its super innovative Panorama Flatfloor line, so far launched in 46 displacement and 48 planning units.  In view of this success Steeler has in recent months expanded its offer and with the NG75 presents a project for a new flagship.  The NG75 expands Steeler offer by ten feet, from the also still in project NG65.  The NG75 is a two deck plus raised pilot house type yacht.  Its straight classic ship bow suggests a displacement hull, but the Dutch builder which builds to order and to full customization has been known to offer semi-planning and planning versions with an alloy construction to its customers.

Arcadia the innovative eco-friendly Italian shipyard has the pleasure to announce the delivery of hull #1 of Arcadia 85S, an all-new "special" edition with sky-lounge, dedicated to American customers.  Arcadia 85S is designed to be a family yacht, which combines different exterior functions over two decks, giving guests more possibility to spend time together. While interiors profit by the advanced aesthetic sensation of open space and closer contact with nature thanks to the the full floor-to-ceiling windows.
