Project: Prestige 550 S

Prestige presents the project of the 550 S, with designer Garroni following what was shown with the 500 S in a larger package.  This means that the 550 S follow a living on the main deck, with the below area dedicated to the three double cabins forward, and a single crew cabin aft.  Interesting solutions of the 550S are the separate entrance for the owners stateroom to midships from the two other guest cabins located to forward, and a sun lounger with ladder connection above the hard top.  While common in larger boats, this is quite unusual in sport yachts this size.  Another clever element which I personally like and has seen Prestige being the second one to use it after a famous Italian builder, is the astern galley by the patio door which makes cooking more of a social affair and something enjoyable for all those on board.  Power for the 550 S is from twin Cummins 600hp with ZF Zeus pods which give a top speed of 30 knots.

New Model: Princess 60

Princess presents the new 60, a model which represents the evolution of the 58 with a lot of changes.  When saying a lot, it means that the 60 offers not only a larger extended bathing platform but has been changed in many areas from the looks outside to the interior and external layout.  The new 60 does only in fact take the hull shape of the previous 58 model.  For me the most important change of the 60 is the galley up which now is more similar to that of the larger Princess's, and leaves the lower deck dedicated for the three double cabins.  Here below is impressive too, with the three cabins all having a private head, with the third head being independent and offering also a day use.  Other notable layout changes are the aft deck now with a two way exit to the bathing platform, a larger flybridge, and bigger windows in all parts main and lower deck which take looks from the latest Princess models. Power is from twin Volvo 800, or optional 900, and Cats 865hp in between.  Top speeds are in the region of 30 up to 35 knots, with the bigger Volvo choice.

Project: Azimut 40 Flybridge

Azimut will present at Genoa the new 40 model.  This new project and some of its details is most of all a redevelopment of the 2009 presented 38 Flybridge.  The Stefano Righini designed 40 will obviously keep the features of the baby Azimut Flybridge but steals some ideas from the 40 S sister boat.  That is the new 40 Flybridge will have an extended larger up and down hydraulic bathing platform aft, and opening glass window on the flybridge which increases air circulation and makes the inner saloon a better fresher place to be.  As one might have noticed the rendering so far shown does not show any of the new details. So far the power remains as the 38 with twin Cummins 355hp giving a 31 knots top speed.

New Model: MJM 36z Downeast

MJM is Boston US builder who presents its latest 36z Downeast model.  MJM builds its boats in epoxy, and the 36z which is its second large model is surely no exception.  A different version for the 36z should be available later on.  The 36z Downeast is a lobster boat design and can sleep two in a classical Vee berth roomy cabin.  There is also a choice for an island berth in change to the convertible Vee shaped settee. A well sized galley, and separate shower head make part of the lower deck accommodation.  Here the US builder thinking more of offering high level of comfort than the most high number of berths.  A classical theme in many down East lobster looking cruisers. The main deck is synonymous with comfort offering two forward looking seats for helm and co-driver, two sofas, and two back looking benches.  The aft deck is left free.  Power is from twin Volvo 170hp standard, or optional 220 and 300hp engines with stern drive propulsion.  Top speed is 34 knots with twin 220hp engines.

Project: Riviera 75 Enclosed Flybridge

After delivering six 70 models, down under Riviera goes five feet bigger and presents the project for the 75 Enclosed Flybridge.  This new flagship model has started construction and should launch late Spring, early Summer 2012 for a New Zealand client.  The 75 is based on the 70 with an extension of the aft cockpit, and a larger flybridge.  It will be built fully at Riviera's Queen' island facility.  The 75 Enclosed Flybridge will feature an accommodation plan with a living on the main deck; galley, saloon, and dining area, with the sleeping quarters located below.  Here is the owners stateroom; a full beam midships offer with a VIP suite to fore, and two twin three berths cabin in between.  Smart planning comes in the 75 from the astern galley on the main deck, and internal staircase which leads to the pilot house of the enclosed flybridge.  Power is from twin Cats 1825hp, or MTU 1940hp giving approximate top speeds of 31 knots.

New Model: Itama 45

Itama starts its boat show season with the presentation of the new 45 model, a further evolution of the best selling one hundred plus delivered Forty and again a creation of Marco Casali.  Keeping in line with tradition the new 45 breaks new frontiers of this brand, thanks to the new aft sweeping stern, and large view windows for the cabins.  But the 45 is all about added features from the invisible hydraulic gangway, that is integrated into the hull, and bathing platform which can  lower in the water.  The Itama 45 will also feature a removable free standing shower aft, just as shown on other Ferretti Group models.  Inside the theme continues as was shown with the celebrating hull one hundred of the Forty with an interior finished in white lacquered wood, paying big homage to the classic Itama's.  The layout is similar to the Forty accept for a rotation of the shower head to 90 degrees this increasing space.  The lower deck offers a choice for a single cabin and a large twin L-shaped sofa saloon, with a more spacious galley, or the more popular two cabins version.  In both versions the owner room is to fore.  Power is from twin Cummins 480hp engines with traditional line shafts, which take the classic deep Vee hull shape up to a max speed of 33 knots.

Project: Absolute 43 STY

Absolute presents the project of the 43 STY, a model which is based on the hull line of the 43 Fly presented last year in Cannes.  The 43 STY is the sixth model of the Sport Yacht fleet and continues Absolute use of IPS pods and is a modern fully enclosed sport cruiser which open its sunroof, aft patio door, and parts of the view windows to become a more open boat.  She is also the third STY to be launched in the fall of 2011. Interesting details are the extended hard top which covers nearly all the cockpit, the aft sun pad, and the up and down bathing platform.  The layout of the 43 STY is based with a living and galley on the main deck saloon, with a lower area reserved for the cabins.  This can sleep six in three cabins or four in two.  Power is from twin Volvo 370 or 435hp with IPS pod drives as propulsion.

New Model: Sabre 54 Fly Bridge Sedan

Sabre presents the 54 Fly Bridge Sedan, its new flagship model.  The 54 Fly Bridge Sedan steals hull from the hard top 52 model, and gets the second helm station up top, plus a wrap around L-shaped settee.  The 52 Sedan has now also been renamed as 54. This area is also available with a hard top, and full enclosure as the above pictures shows.  Down below the 54 Fly Bridge Sedan keeps a layout of high living standards all finished in high quality veneer woods.  The standard layout offers a living saloon on the main deck, galley below, and two cabins both with en-suite heads.  A three cabin version which moves the galley up should be available. Power is from standard Cats 865hp or Volvo 700hp with IPS pods.  This last choice gives 32 knots max, and 27 cruise.
