New Model: Kha Shing 100 Monte Fino RPH

Kha Shing has recently launched hull number one for the new 100 Monte Fino RPH. These last initials standing for raised pilot house. The 100 RPH was actually born as a 96 project and is designed as the latest 76 model of the Monte Fino range by Humphrey's Yacht design who followed Italian European looks and style with a smart, read not looking heavy on the lines integrated raised pilot house. The 100 Monte Fino RPH comes with a standard radar arch hard top integrated as the picture above, but an alternative enclosed bridge is also available. As all Monte Fino this is a semi custom build, meaning any other 100 should only be similar to the outside of any other 100 RPH. In hull one the owner decided for an an owners stateroom on the main deck, with the other guest cabins below. Crew quarters for four persons are located aft behind of the central located engine room. Power is for twin Cats 1622hp engines, which are genuinely small for this size of super yacht, but I think also reflects on the usual semi displacement hull of the Monte Fino range. Speed if for a 16 knots max, 13 knots cruise.

Project: Azimut Grande 100

Azimut presents the project rendering for the 100 of the new Grande line. This new 100 will be the entry level of this new range which starts at one hundred feet. So far Azimut has given little details, although the exterior line do suggest the usual Stefano Righini contemporary modern evoking lines. As usual with Azimut, windows seems to be getting bigger then to the previous model. I wonder if if the quote from a notable yacht architect in a 2001 Italian magazine that we will have a boat made of complete glass will ever come real. Surely Azimut is always challenging itself in this direction. This new Grande 100 of the flybridge line, adds with the other two projects announced earlier this year being the 126 expected to launch in 2012, and the 120 SL which is planned for the end of this Summer.

New Model: Galeon 350 HTC

Another PowerYacht exclusive set to debut in the coming September month Cannes show. This is Galeon's new 350 HTC, the three letters meaning for Hard Top Coupe. Based on an extended hull which comes from the successful 330 series, the new 350 HTC puts the elements we have seen on the bigger Galeon's into a smaller package. Signs of these are evident in the glass hard top similar to what you see on the 700 Raptor and quality fittings in the upholstery, and furniture. Galeon unlike other builders also opted for a complete new super structure tooling for the 350 HTC, showing bigger windows in the side, and a large windshield compared to the also new for 2010 340 Fly unveiled in January. Apart the super structure differences the 350 HTC keeps various successful elements from the 340 Fly with some of these also coming from the 330 series. I like the clever cockpit settee this like the 340, and the inside galley saloon up arrangement permitting a unique three cabin five berths plan below as found on the 330 line. Power is twin Volvo 220hp, up to a faster optional 300hp choice which gives a 35 knots top speed.
Technical Data:
LOA - 11.32 m (37.1ft)

Project: Blu Martin ST52

Blu Martin surprise the market presenting the project of the ST52, which will sit in between the last year launched ST55 and the over sixty delivered 1390 Sea Top models. Measuring at an over all length just above sixteen metres, the latest Blu Martin will offer a three cabin layout, with a full beam owners suite located to mid ship. A single berth crew cabin is located to mid ship behind the owners suite. Standard power will be from twin Volvo 435hp with IPS pods which the yard estimates will give a top speed of 32 knots and a cruise of 27. Alternative more powerful options come from Cummins 600hp engines with ZF pods, or traditional line shaft choice. Launch and completion of hull number one is forecast for the fall of 2010, just in time for an official presentation at the October Genoa show.

New Model: Monte Carlo Yachts MCY76

So much have been the talk about Beneteau Group going into the large motor yacht market. The official news was in 2007 and the fall of 2008 marked the creation of the Monte Carlo Yachts brand. But I think the bells where ringing much before this, when the Prestige models started making success with the 34 and 46 models back in the early part of the second millennium decade. The Monte Carlo MCY76 which launched at the end of July, just a month after showing some rendering details is a challenge to the market not only from a brand perspective, but also from a design point of view. It also represents a huge effort from Beneteau Group who for the new Monte Carlo brand moved everything to Italy where logistics to build this kind of yacht seems to be easier. The Monte Carlo MCY76 is a step forward both from its builders and Venetian designers Nuvolari Lenard and may be here lies the script of its success. For those that did not read the project preview PowerYacht did a month ago, here is a summary. The MCY76 is a three cabin or four cabin motor yacht, with a total of seven choices between lower, main and upper deck. Innovation comes in many forms from the solar powered hard top option, to the layout of the main deck, exterior looks which are a good hybrid mix of explorer and a modern fast yacht, and in the construction method. Power is from twin MAN 1200hp standard or 1400hp optional with ZF pods propulsion which delivers a top speed of 31 knots.
Technical Data:
LOA - 23.05 m (75.6ft)
Beam - 5.65 m
Draft - 1.65 m
Displacement - 46 t
Fuel Capacity - 4000 l
Water Capacity - 1000 l
Accommodation - 6/8 berths, 2 crew
Engines - 2 x MAN V8 1200hp, V8 1400hp
Propulsion - ZF pod drives
Speed - 31 knots max, 27 knots cruise
Construction - vinilester resin, carbon fiber, and kevlar

Project: Tornado 50

It is very unusual for someone to promote a boat upside down showing what is often called by the experts the living hull part! The Italian boat builder Tornado returns in the so called yacht size of over fifty feet with the 50 project, set to launch this year. The Tornado 50 is a step towards a bigger size from this Italian Rome builder, who wants with this project to put more spaces but keeping in line with the successful elements which its client enjoy, like a classic line and propulsion efficiency. Tornado is in fact promising a lot of features coming from the 38, which this builder so far delivered in over four hundred units. The 50 will surely offer more generous spaces, although cabin numbers or layout have so far not been called for. But what the yard is promising is a deep Vee hull typical of US powerboat derivation with a fine entry and an infamous bell shaped keel aft. Engines and propulsion will be Volvo IPS which guarantee a maximum efficiency and minimum space put to better use for the comfort onboard.

New Model: Nordic Tugs 39

Nordic Tugs has launched the May announced new 39. Successor to the popular Nordic Tug 37, the new 39 is built on the same Lynn Senour designed hull as that of its predecessor, but features a number of significant refinements, many of these in response to suggestions from current owners. The new cruiser made its first sea trials prior to its public debut at the Nordic Tugs rendezvous, on June 10th-13th, in Anacortes, Washington. Nordic Tugs President and CEO Andy Lund described the new vessel as an evolutionary advancement developed to offer a better cruising experience. Most evident among the changes are larger windows at salon and pilot house levels, designed to offer passengers a more expansive view and to improve sight lines from the helm. A look inside the salon reveals a new U-shaped settee with enhanced cushioning and a pull-out berth similar to that of the 37. Facing the settee is an optional overhead-mounted flat-screen HDTV. In the galley, a Force 10 electric cook top, Sharp convection microwave oven and top-loading freezer are now standard. To help improve ventilation, a new Dutch door and two larger sliding windows, all by Diamond Sea-Glaze, are integrated into the salon. In the pilot house, the helm console has been expanded to accommodate large chart plotter and radar display screens. A standard Llebroc captain’s chair has been specified to provide improved comfort, important for proper watch-keeping during lengthy passages. Below, the guest cabin of the new Nordic Tugs 39 offers a pull-out lower berth that serves as a settee during the day, and a wide bunk at night. The re-designed head features a new Tecma toilet, a fully molded shower stall with a bench seat, and an innovative sliding door that glides open and closed on a space-saving curved track. Like all Nordic Tugs models in the company’s 2011 line-up, the new 39 will feature LED lighting, including interior lights from Imtra, selected for their warmer tone compared to the harsher blue cast of earlier fixtures. LED lights, Lund noted, use about one-fifth the electricity required by halogen lamps and produce considerably less heat. LED navigation lights, he added, typically last ten times as long as incandescent bulbs. Other new features for 2011 Nordic Tugs 32 feet and up include a Maretron NMEA 2000 network extending from stem to stern and including the engine room, helm station and signal mast. The network offers plug-and-play installation of electronics, gauges and equipment ranging from chart plotters and rudder angle indicators to ultrasonic tank level indicators, depth sounders and the GPS. The system is compatible with the most popular electronics brands for display on the Maretron monitor at the helm. Standard power is a single 380hp Cummins diesel paired with the Vessel View helm display for continuous monitoring of engine and generator operating status.

Project: Riviera 53 Enclosed Flybridge

Aussie's Riviera announced the project for the new 53 Enclosed Flybridge on day one of down under largest Sydney boat show, the past end of July. This new project retains the distinctive Riviera enclosed flybridge style of a yacht with sportfish capability and an interior full of the latest amenities incorporating newest generation of technology and comfort. That means that the 53 Enclosed Flybridge combines contemporary thinking with traditional Riviera elements. There should be a lot of boat for its length and a great many key design features including an enclosed flybridge, internal staircase, full beam master cabin, a total of three cabins, two bathrooms aft galley and the flexibility of choice with a range of different pod drive and engine plant configurations. The 53 Enclosed Flybridge will also be among the smallest Sportfish Yacht to offer a full beam owners cabin. As many of the latest Riviera, the 53 project is being entirely designed around pods which goes a long way from the 2007 launched 4400 Sport Yacht this builder first unit with the drives and is due for release in March 2011. Today Riviera offers pods on seven of its models, most being exclusive to this type of propulsion and others an optional choice. www.riviera.com.au

New Model: Abati 58 Eastport

This new Abati 58 Eastport builds on the first model from this Ligurian builder that is the seventeen units delivered 55 Portland and adds a flybridge to its superstructure. Just as the model it is based upon the 58 Eastport keeps the very traditional lobster yacht lines, and also the unique separate entrances cabin arrangement. This means that each cabin has a separate door stairway from the main deck, a very unusual arrangement but very practical especially with guests on board. Apart offering three cabins the 58 Eastport also features a lower saloon and galley. The new flybridge of the 58 Eastport with central mast will also have a center positioned helm station, and two side benches. Not really an entertainment area but a convivial area for few during navigation. Power for the 58 Eastport will be from twin 800hp which gives a top speed of 31 knots, and a cruise of 25.
