New Model: Beneteau 38 Flyer Gran Turismo

Beneteau present the 38 Flyer Gran Turismo the first model of two for this new range for this world distributed brand. The 38 Flyer Gran Turismo is a hard top Sport Cruiser, which is basically a remake up of the replaced 37 Montecarlo HT model. Same hull, interior, and cockpit plan but new super structure looks, and more large windows in the mid ship located guest cabin. Just as the 37, the 38 Flyer Gran Turismo is also designed by Andreani, and also feature the patent Air Step hull by Jeantet, Tableau, and Tronquez. Beneteau launched this patent design for its Monte Carlo series about six years ago, and so far this has featured in ten models. For the 38 Flyer Gran Turismo Andreani offers a more extended hard top versus the old 37 MonteCarlo with larger side windows. Power is from twin stern drive Volvo engines from standard 260hp, or optional 300hp.

Project: Beneteau 8 Antares S

Beneteau presents the project of the 8 Antares S, the smallest in this range of motor cruisers suited for cruising and fishing of the French boat building giant. Designed by Sarrazin this baby Antares is suited for boaters who put solid navigation and medium speeds first. You can say the 8 Antares S is for the entry level, but personally I think its more for the boaters who come from the experience of smaller sizes and want something comfortable where to welcome friends and family. The interior of the 8 Antares S is no slouch too, offering a two plus two accommodation plan with a double owners berth below, and a convertible other twin berth available on the main deck. A shower head is located below, while the galley is situated on the more comfortable and fresh main deck. The compact but well planned aft deck offers an interesting C-shaped settee to port side. Power is a single shaft propelled Nanni 200hp engine.

Project: Beneteau 32 Antares

After revamping all the Antares range in the 2009 season Beneteau presents the project for a new 32 in this range. Designed by Sarrazin the 32 Antares, is based on the 30 and will be the smallest twin engined flybridge in the Beneteau range. As to everything there is two sides of every coin and while the twin engines of the 32 Antares gives easier manoeuvrability in port, better balance underway, and greater security you will be paying a price for more fuel of about 30% at the pump and a double to service and parts. Accommodation for the 32 Antares offers a two cabin interior same to the 30, minus the engine room. Sizes are all also the same to the single engined 30 Antares, although beam is surprisingly slimmer by six centimetres for the twin engined 32 Antares. www.beneteau.com

Project: Beneteau 44 Swift Trawler

Beneteau replaces the model which premiered its Explorer Cruiser range the 2004 launched 42 Swift Trawler with a new 44 feet project. The 44 Swift Trawler builds on the attributes that made the range a popular choice for couples or families who are passionate about boating. As a symbol of escapism this latest model concedes nothing of the range’s proven performance, but adds a new concept of space: with more spacious environments, and natural light. Apart the greater and leaner windows the 44 also adds more space inside, and outside with the interior now having a two cabins twin shower head lower deck. The living main deck is also distinctively more spacious with its single step split level format offering a larger C-shaped galley, and lounge. The flybridge while seemingly similar in space and format to the old 42, also offers an extra co-driver seat, as the does the aft deck now offering an L-shaped settee to port side. Power is from twin 300hp engines. www.beneteau.com

Projects: Beneteau 34 Flyer Gran Turismo, Beneteau 38 Flyer Gran Turismo

Beneteau presents a new range with the new 38 and 34 Flyer Gran Turismo projects to make there debut at the fall of 2010. Pictured above is the smallest of the two new Flyer Gran Turismo the 34. Designed by Andreani the 34 will be based on the lines of the 32 Monte Carlo which in fact it will replace, but features an extended longer hard top, large view windows, and more spacious bathing platform. The 34 Flyer Gran Turismo will also feature a large U-shaped dinette to fore versus the L-shaped settee, single berth combination of the old 32. Below the water line on the living part of the 34, will be the much acclaimed patented Air-Step hull with extended plane aft. Pictured above is the larger of the new Flyer Gran Turimo the 38, which is also further development of the 37 Monte Carlo that it replaces. Again just as the 34 the difference here is for a longer extended hard top, bigger view windows outside, and expanded platform. Below the same theme for the 37 Monte Carlo is repeated with two cabins, an L-shaped saloon, and galley composing the accommodation area. Power for the Pierangelo Andreani designed Sport Cruiser which also features the patented Air-Step and extended plane hull will be from a maximum power of twin Volvo 300hp diesels. Launching is scheduled for Cannes in September. www.beneteau.com

New Model: Beneteau 42 Monte Carlo Hard Top

Beneteau present their eight model in its sport cruiser Monte Carlo range with the new 42 model launched during the Paris Nautic show the past December. The new 42 Monte Carlo is also the biggest in the range to make use of the patented Beneteau Powerboat Air Step hull, designed by Patrick Tableau, Maud Tronquez, and Remi Laval-Jeantet. As all the other Monte Carlo's the 42 has lines designed by Italian Andreani. The new 42 Monte Carlo sits perfectly in the range between the 2009 presented 47 and smaller 37 model. Spacious and surprising in the 42 Monte Carlo Hardtop is the lower deck with a full beam owners suite which competes with that of bigger boats. Further accommodation below is the double guest cabin to fore, C-shaped saloon which converts to another additional twin berth, and L-shaped galley. New Model: Beneteau 34 Swift Trawler S

As has been from Beneteau in recent times, the 1884 founded French builder innovates and offers different versions to its models. This is the case with the 34 Swift Trawler S, which is a 34 Swift Trawler but without the second helm flybridge up top. Yes as the above pictures shows you still have ladder to go up top, but that is because the 34 Swift Trawler S has made space use above for storage space, or a sun bathing one. The 34 Swift Trawler S thanks to its lower height can also be an ideal inland water ways canal explorer cruiser. For the remaining of it the 34 Swift Trawler S is the same as the standard fall of 2009 introduced flybridge version, offering four berths in two cabins below, additional extra two berths in the saloon, and 21 knots top speed with a single engine.

New Model: Beneteau 42 Antares

French boat building giant Beneteau continue with the update of its Antares range, presenting the replacement of the 12 model, with the new 42 launched during the Paris boat show the past December. Designed by Sarazin care taking architect of all the Antares, the 42 captures the looks of previous models from this range offering a more modern curved profile with sumptuous classic looks. Measuring an over all of over 45 feet the new 42 Antares offers twin double cabins below: with owners en-suite to fore, guest cabin to starboard, and a second shower head. There is also an additional double berth in the convertible C-shaped saloon, on the single floor living main deck, which also features a galley and the lower helm station. The flybridge up top while not being the larger of the category offers intelligent use of space, with a C-shaped settee, helm station, and a sun pad looking aft. Power for the 42 Antares comes from twin Yanmar 380hp, propelled with reliable old school line shafts in tunnel drives, with the Vee shaped hull also offering a small keel for better directional stability.

Projects: Beneteau 42 Monte Carlo Hard Top, Beneteau 34 Swift Trawler S, Beneteau 30 Antares S

Beneteau go into the market with three projects, one is completely new, and two are a further development or different versions of recently released models. The completely new model is the 42 Monte Carlo Hard Top shown in rendering above. Sitting in between the 47 launched exactly a year ago in Paris, and the 37, the new 42 fills the gap between these models and is also the eighth member in the Sport Cruiser style Monte Carlo range. With lines designed as all the Monte Carlo range by Italian designer Andreani, the 42 is targeted to combine the fantastic technology of Beneteau's unique patented Air-Step hull with an intelligent comfortable layout. What surprises in the 42 Monte Carlo Hard Top project is how it uses elements from both the 47 and 37. For example the central cockpit and helm station are a good reminder of the smaller 37, while the lower deck takes a lot from the 47 with full beam mid ship owners suite, and VIP cabin to fore. Power for the 42 Monte Carlo Hard Top will be from twin Volvo D6 370hp which combined with the Air Step designed by Beneteau Powerboat team of Patrick Tableau, Maud Tronquez, and Remi Laval from Jeantet and an extended plane underwater should provide a good performance. For easy marina manoeuvring the 42 Monte Carlo Hard Top is also available with the new Volvo stern drive joystick system which makes the difficult moves to the inexperienced owner much easier. The second project presented by Beneteau is the 34 Swift Trawler S what is a new version of the 34 Swift Trawler without a driving position on the flybridge. This new S for Sedan version retains all the characteristics of the Swift Trawler 34 and brings a very different functionality to the flybridge level providing stowage for the tender or any other space consuming objects such as bicycles, windsurfers, etc. This space can also be converted into a magnificent king size sunbathing area. Taking away this change the new 34 Swift Trawler S keeps all the other distinct characteristics of a single engine semi planning Explorer Cruiser with two cabins below, an extra convertible saloon berth, separate shower head, and a galley on the main deck. The third project follows the launch of the Beneteau 30 Antares presented in flybridge version at the autumn boat shows. Now Beneteau attention to clients requests prompts its designers to the project of the 30 Antares S, which will be launched in Düsseldorf on January 2010. Designed for cruising, the boat retains all the advantages of the twin cabin 30 Antares, but gets more lively looks thanks to a sleeker super structure without a flybridge. Sarrazin design group have given the Beneteau 30 Antares S modern, sporty lines, and worked with precision to provide this version with a new roof, including two sliding opening panels. This gives the boat a dynamic look, which endows it with a sporty character.

New Model: Beneteau 30 Antares

For the fall of this year French builder Beneteau decided to change the Antares range with all models over nine meters having there designation change in feet size. For the 30 Antares the French builder decided for a full replacement to the nine series, upgrading and renovating it to a new model. The 30 Antares is an innovative motor cruiser, challenging a size and style of the market, that of an entry level flybridge abandoned today by most European motor boat builders. Designed by Sarazin the new small Antares has modern looks to it with an extended flybridge covering the cockpit and an elegant looking windshield. The new small Antares is also about options giving choice to the buyer of a second central helm station up top with L-shaped settee, or replaced by a fully dedicated entertainment area, with sun pad and settee table. A further S hardtop version with patio door is also in the works, and should be launched before the end of the year. Watch PowerYachtBlog for more information on this project. Inside the 30 Antares is also a comfortable cruiser offering four berths in two cabins plus a convertible extra double bed. The main deck welcomes you in the comfort zone with the C-shaped settee which converts to an additional double berth, galley, and lower main helm station. Below is dedicated to the sleeping quarters with the owners cabin to fore featuring a queen size berth, double bunk guest cabin, and a shower head. Power is by a single Yanmar 380hp, the French Group in recent times taking this more economic choice for its smaller models.

New Model: Beneteau 47 Monte Carlo Fly

Beneteau introduces the new Fly version of the 47 Monte Carlo, launched in hard top version at the end of 2008. The 47 Monte Carlo Fly is now the current flagship of Beneteau's modern cruiser range and is identical to the hardtop version in all things, but adds an extended flybridge with a second helm station, and entertainment area up top. While cost cutting and tight competition may have made some builders to use the same hull and modules to offer different boats as is the case with the 47 Monte Carlo, the French builder and Italian designer Andreani came out with a nice flybridge proposition making for a good looking Motor Cruiser. Connection to the flybridge of the 47 is from an integrated stair case in the aft deck, which brings to the upper deck featuring a C-shaped settee aft, sun pad to starboard, and a dual seated helm station to port. Below the winning concepts of the 47 Monte Carlo are kept with options for a two or three cabin version. The third double cabin option replaces the lower decked L-shaped saloon settee. Power is from twin Volvo IPS600 435hp engines.

Projects: Beneteau 30 Antares, Beneteau 42 Antares, Beneteau 47 MonteCarlo Fly

From this year onwards, all Antares models over 9 metres will have their length in feet included as part of their model name. And that’s the case with this new launch, which replaces the 9 Series with 30 Flybridge/Hard Top versions. As the first Flybridge in the range, it is designed primarily for cruising, and retains all the excellent sea keeping qualities on which the Antares reputation has been built. Sarrazin Design presents a sleek elegant line, and their style is unmistakable for the Antares 30. Its grey-tinted glass makes a special contribution to the sophisticated modern looks. The hull is the work of the Beneteau design team, and is available with a single-engine configuration only. There will be three versions to choose from the 30 Antares. The S version is with hard top with two opening panels, with flybridge but no helm station featuring a large sunbathing area and settee with table up top, and with flybridge and helm station convertible to a sunbathing platform. According to Beneteau the amount of living space is unrivalled by any other boat of this size. Accommodation is a four berth lower deck with a convertible saloon to double berth. The guest cabins are an owners double to fore, and a double bunk to port. To starboard is the fully equipped head. 30 Antares will have max single engine power up to 380hp, and will be certified to CE B standards. If the above statement stands true the 42 Antares will be a replacement to the 12 Antares. Beneteau has so far given little details for this new 42 Antares model. What can be seen is that the project rendering above builds on bigger spaces to the 12, like more extended bathing platform, and a larger flybridge. The flybridge will feature a c-shaped settee to port, helm station to starboard, and a sunpad looking aft. The interior will also features a main living deck with a main saloon welcoming you inside to a c-shaped settee to starboard upon entrance, a 2 person settee to port, l-shaped galley to port, and double helm seated helm station again to starboard. The lower deck layout has not been so far confirmed although this layout lets the thinking go for three cabins below. Propulsion has also not been announced, but the 12 Antares was available with both shaft and IPS pod so accept again to have this format.
Beneteau upgraded its Sport Cruiser line in December 2008 with the launch of the 47 MonteCarlo. The range is now being extended again with the launch of the Flybridge version: a 47 MonteCarlo Fly featuring a large sunbathing terrace up top with sporty looks. The external cockpit galley unit has been cleverly converted to provide access to the flybridge. The designer of the MonteCarlo range Pierangelo Andreani has drawn a new design in true Mediterranean style. The overall layout of the 47 MonteCarlo Fly offers two living spaces: the cockpit and the flybridge. The flybridge incorporates two distinct areas: the helm station and the convertible 6-person settee. The driver's seat is on the centre, with the instrument panel featuring a full set of double navigation instruments, to the left is the co-driver’s seat, and to the right a large lounger-style sunpad with a pullout fridge beneath. Behind is the six person settee. Worth to note is the visually appealing radar arch which carries the radar and antennas is raised to not disturb the views to the owner and his guests. The large cockpit surprises for a flybridge offering an external galley unit, and has an external settee which converts into a sunpad, of which underneath is located a tender garage that can accommodate a tender with outboard. Inside the 47 MonteCarlo Fly continues what we seen in the standard hart top version presented in Paris last December with generous living spaces of which the striking feature is the full beam owner’s cabin flooded with light from two large side windows, but also the choice of layout versions for two or three cabin plans. New leather, alcantara and light oak finishes will also be introduced for the new 47 MonteCarlo Fly. The 47 MonteCarlo hull design has been developed in close co-operation with Volvo Penta to accommodate IPS pod drives. Power for the 47 MonteCarlo Fly is from twin Volvo IPS600 D6 435hp diesel engines.

New Model: Beneteau 34 Swift Trawler

The existing Swift Trawler range is growing, and is joined by the launch of the new 34 Swift Trawler 34. A much expected smaller new edition to the Beneteau explorer boats range announced at the start of this year, benefiting from a semi planing hull similar to the one on which its senior siblings have built their reputation, and a visual appeal similar to the 42 foot big bigger model. The new small Swift is a collaborative between designers Joubert - Nivelt, and Beneteau's design team. The capacious cockpit locker is big enough to store every item of seagoing equipment. A hinged gate provides access to the transom skirt and its bathing ladder. Access to the generous sunbathing platform forward of the wheelhouse is either via the starboard passageway, or the wide and ultra-safe side deck to port. The flying bridge is surprisingly spacious and extremely comfortable, offering to port a large space to house the tender, whilst further forward is the starboard helm position and saloon with a six person table. The wheelhouse interior is accessed via a 3-panel sliding glass door that creates a perfect feeling of space. The saloon converts very easily to provide a double berth to starboard. Moving forward, is the port side helm station with its double bench seat. The removable floor step is retractable for easy access to the passageway via a sliding side door. The U-shaped galley with its double sink and choice of work surfaces is to port. The companionway leads to the port guest cabin with bunk berths and the starboard head. The bow compartment houses the generous owner’s cabin with its large double berth. The 34 Swift Trawler is extremely roomy, with a saloon, galley and owner’s cabin comparable in size to the accommodation offered in the 42-foot version; in fact, the finishes and woodwork are identical. Powered by a single Cummins 425hp diesel, it reaches a max speed of 22 knots. The hull is immensely stable when moored and underway, and berthing manoeuvrability is maximised by a standard bow thruster. Beneteau also points out easy access to the engine, plumbing and electrical systems making the small Swift Trawler easy to maintain and service.

Project: Beneteau 34 Swift Trawler

Beneteau presents the project for its third model and future entry level for its explorer type boat Swift Trawler range with the 34. Announced in Dusseldorf last January and presented also as a scale model during the show, the 34 Swift Trawler continues what we have seen with the previous models from the French builder, with US trawler looks, but also with accommodation layouts revolving an eye around European and Mediterranean usage. Looking very similar in the outside to the 42, the small Swift Trawler offers spaces associated with a bigger boat to its size. Its accommodation plan is a 2 cabin layout, with owner cabin to fore, a bunk double cabin to port side, and a complete shower head to starboard. On the main deck we have the main living area for the small Swift Trawler offering a saloon galley with a settee for 5 persons, c-shaped galley, and the interior all weather helm station to starboard. The extended flybridge as seen on the plan is the main surprise for its dimension, offering along the second helm station, and l-shaped settee also a tender stowage area. This is something unusual for a 34 feet cruiser. Engine choices has so far not been announced, but Beneteau did say that the choice is for a single engine with direct in line shaft propulsion, which according to the French builder will give the best economy but also the most stable ride to the 34 Swift Trawler.

Projects: Beneteau 47 Monte Carlo Hard Top, Beneteau 11 Antares

The new 47 Monte Carlo Hard Top, designed by P.Andreani, takes the modern sport cruiser range of Beneteau to a wider more important audience. It will offer a host of novelties to the Monte Carlos, not only for it's extra 3 metres in length to the 37 model which will make her the new flagship of the range, but thanks to an innovative interior and cockpit layout. The new 47 will have a complete enclosed hard top with patio door, closing half part of the cockpit when the weather is not sweet. On the lower deck the big Monte Carlo really impresses, shaking the and challenging the competition with a smart and spacious layout, featuring the ever demanding full beam owners cabin but also the bonus of offering 2 different options, with a 3 or a 2 cabin version, the last giving an L-shaped settee in the lower deck in replacement to the third cabin. In the plans viewed so far the striking feature seem to be the spacious galley, but also the third cabin with in line berths. Engine options and performance have not announced, but imagine speeds over 30 knots as the smaller Monte Carlos.
It will officially be introduced next September, but we cannot resist the pleasure of announcing the birth of a new generation of Antares. With its abounding space, new levels of comfort and efficient hull the Antares 11 is bound to hold the attention of those who enjoy thrills and long breaks as well as anglers. Designed by Beneteau with P. Sarazin the new 11 Antares will have accommodation for 4 in 2 separate cabins, plus extra 2 berths available in the convertible saloon. Power will be provided by twin Volvo 260hp engines, driving trough shafts.

The entry level Monte Carlo is a smart little boat featuring a well planned cockpit layout, with a c-shaped settee to starboard and a wet bar with grill, wash basin to port. Inside it features 2 sperate sleeping areas, with a v-shaped double berth forward, a double mid cabin and a separate head to starboard. New Model: Beneteau 32 Monte Carlo Hard Top

Beneteau continues to upgrade its Monte Carlo range of fast modern sports cruisers and in this case enriching the model to a more alternative customer base.
