New Model: Dutch Craft 56

Dutch Craft is a new brand founded by Zeelander, who present with this 56 its first model.  The Dutch Craft 56 is versatility made into a yacht, and you can add utilities in the name as in plural for the various task this sport yacht is able to do.  Available in Cabin or Open version, all this centering around the main deck.  In open version the main  deck is open as pictured above, while in cabin this will be enclosed making it a fully glassed but cozy deck space.  The Dutch Craft 56 offers a three cabins lower deck interior with an owners cabin forward, a twin guest berth to starboard, and a single berth to port side.  A crew cabin is located aft in between the cabin area and the engine room.  The Dutch Craft is standard powered with Volvo 435hp engines and IPS pod drives.  Options exist for larger 725hp Volvo engines, and John Deere 1300hp with Jet drives.  The versatility of the Dutch Craft 56 is also seen in the option to upgrade fuel capacity from the standard three thousand liters to 4500, this increasing range by another 250 nautical miles and up to 750 nautical miles with a fast cruise of about 25 knots.

Project: Sessa FX5

Sessa present this project, code named FX5 to what so far seems to be a project dedicated for the Brazilian market, and requested by the South American dealership. Is not this a lost occasion to what really looks a World boat, and a replacement to the long standing Fly 54 updated recently but produced since 2009. Designed by Davide Cipriani design firm and the Lombardy boat builder, the pair with the FX5 have designed a model created to satisfy the specific needs of a growing Brazilian American market, the main characteristics of this new flybridge yacht fitted with Volvo Penta engines are maximum live-ability and comfort, natural light and open spaces created for a convivial lifestyle.  Beauty, attention to detail, style and cutting-edge technology are the key drivers of this project, which should launch in around 2020. Designed specifically with Brazilians in mind, the layout features three cabins plus the crew cabin, sleeping a total of seven. The day zone is dominated by a vast living room with huge windows that offer some striking views. The coatings and finishes are those typically found on Sessa yachts, with their reputation for quality. The excellent distribution of space on board is designed to offer maximum comfort and unparalleled opportunities to socialize: the living room, for example, has enough sofas and armchairs to seat twelve people, while the Flybridge with its carbon fiber T-Top is furnished as an open air living room, offering an L-shaped sofa, a low table, a cabinet, a sink and a grill or, optionally, a cooking top, as well as a solarium area around the helm station. The exterior spaces are both spacious and welcoming, reflecting how Brazilian owners typically use their boats, with various cooking units and classic sun lounging areas allowing the outdoor areas to be exploited to the full throughout the day. The main materials used for the interiors are nubuck, mirrored surfaces, lacquer and a mixture of grey oak wood varieties.  The engines will be two Volvo with IPS pod drive propulsion with a possiblity to fit the FX5 also hybrid engine currently being in the works.

New Model: Fjord 44 Coupe

The Fjord 44 Coupe complements the stylish puristic open layout characteristic with a luxurious and streamlined glassed deck house. The arc-saloon as Fjord calls it is a multi-functional structure, built with genuine glass, stainless steel and high quality composites. It incorporates a stylish arc design and enhances the use case of this Fjord. Two side doors at the front, two electric windows at the sides, an electric sunroof and a majestic twin sliding door at the back make the arc-saloon as versatile as possible.  The interior accommodation of the Fjord 44 Coupe is offered in two layouts, with the option offering a second two berth L-shaped cabin at midships.  In standard form this area is a free luggage space.  Fjord 44 Coupe is powered by standard Volvo 370hp or optional 480hp engines, with IPS pod drives.  Standard engines offer speeds up to thirty knots while option goes up to 36.

Project: Alia 55m

Alia is delighted to announce the signing of the contract for the construction of Project Al Waab II, a 55 meter sub-500 GT super yacht with exterior and interior design, as well as naval architecture and Class engineering, from the creative desk of Dutch firm Vripack.  The project is the result of great teamwork between Alia Yachts, Vripack and SF Yachts, who played a key role as coordinator between the designers, the builders and the owner’s guidelines. With delivery scheduled for Summer 2021, Alia 55m will have a more detailed press presentation during the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show featuring further details and visuals.

Bilgin Super Yacht Fire in Mallorca

Super Yacht D'Angleterre caught fire on 24th August around 1500 hours in Mallorca near Es Trenc beach in the Southern tip of the Balearic island.  Fifteen people where rescued from this accident by two coast guard boats, with the captain and two crew members trying there best to stop the fire up until 1700 hours.  A fire fighting plane was later brought in to stop the blaze.  
D'Angleterre is a Bilgin 110 Sky build in Turkey in 2008 of wood in the cold molded method to a Mahir Bestas design.  This Bilgin super yacht sleeps twelve guests in six cabins, with crew accommodation for five in three cabins.  D'Angleterrre can reach speeds up to seventeen knots and was last refitted in 2019. 

Improve-it = Hatteras 100RPH

In July 2019 Hatteras delivered the fifth and last of the 100RPH series.  The fifth hull was named M/Y Optimus and is the most customized build of this semi custom thirty meter super yacht.  The most apparent of the customization are the hull extension of over two meters for an extra aft cockpit lowered deck usable also for fishing, and the electric blue custom paint for the flybridge top, radar arch, and side supports.  The Hatteras 100RPH comes from a collaboration with Italian designer Enrico Gobbi, and featured interior choices for five or four double cabins.  Power for the 100RPH is from standard twin Cats 1900hp or optional MTU 2600hp engines.  The 100 is to be replaced by the 105RPH of which the first hull is currently under construction.

New Model: Monte Carlo MCY 76

Monte Carlo has completed what it is calling its new Vision act with the launch of its MCY 76 at a private event in the Gulf of Trieste on 7 July 2019.  The Vision is the second act of Monte Carlo Yachts which was started in 2009, and in 2010 launched its first MCY 76 model.  The Vision series of three models was announced during the January 2019 Dusseldorf boat show with the presentation of the MCY 70.  The Monte Carlo Yachts Vision is an evolution of the species and see Italian design team of Nuvolari Lenard stream line the details.  The new MCY 76 Vision represents an important change as it represents the first Monte Carlo model, and also ten years of the head lining motor yacht brand of the Beneteau Group.  The new MCY 76 is recognizable from the previous model for the large window serving the forward VIP stateroom, and the radar arch on the flybridge replacing the central mast of the previous model.  Dimensions are more or less the same of the models, but the new 76 is six tons heavier and takes one thousand more of fuel capacity.  Engines are also bigger, with the previous bigger choice of twin 1400hp Man now being the standard, and a 1550hp added as option.

Motor Yacht Crashes Into Tourist Ferry in Salina

On twentieth August in the morning at about 11:30 hours a tourist ferry of the Sicily Tour company departing from Capo D'Orlando with some 350 passengers crashed into a motor yacht, in the vicinity of Salina island in the Eolian islands archipelago.  The accident left five persons injured of which one in grievous condition, who was helicoptered to a hospital in Messina.  The motor yacht passengers suffered no injuries, besides a shock for the crash which left a signature hole damage in the port side of the bow.  The passenger ferry suffered also important damage to its starboard side The motor yacht was later transferred to Lipari harbor, while the passenger ferry was directed to the Santa Marina harbor in Salina.  At the base of investigation is a right of way which according to initial data was not given to the motor yacht.
The motor yacht looks a wooden construction possibly a Canados or similar of about eighteen meters in length build in around the 1980's.  If someone knows more we can report accordingly.

Project: Horizon FD70

Horizon announces the project for a new FD70, entry level of its Fast Displacement line.  So far we have little details about this project set to launch in 2020, which the company is describing as game changer in its size.  Game changer for offering the choice of a five cabin layout, and a master stateroom on the forward part of the main deck.  Horizon Fast Displacement series was launched in 2015 with the FD85 designed by Cor D.Rover, and since then the range has expanded to six models, three of which in the water, and three in project stages including this upcoming FD70 model.

Princess Fire in Port Adriano

An eight meter Princess sport cruiser caught fire on August 20 at around 1100 hours in Port Adriano Mallorca.  Two persons where on-board, one of which the fifty year old was rushed to a hospital via helicopter suffering burns to 70% of his body.  His father of seventy was taken to a nearby medical clinic suffering from a heart shock.  The small Princess was totally lost to the fire.  Port Adriano is one of the most famous marinas in Mallorca and is located in the South West of the Balearic island.
The Princess 266 Riviera was produced from 1987 to 1990 and was the entry level model for the British boat builder in that period.  The 266 Riviera offered a four berth interior accommodation in a two plus two layout, and was powered from twin Volvo 151 to 205hp petrol gas, or 130hp diesel engines.
