New Model: BlueGame BGM75

A power catamaran with a new vision! BlueGame's BGM75 is the first model of the BGM range, a power catamaran which does not fit into an existing segment but creates a new one.  A parallel segment away from the current multihulls available on the market.  Primarily because from the first glance, the shape of this 22 meter yacht moves away from the “boxy” shape of a catamaran, thanks to the reduced width in favor of a ratio between beam and length closer to a mono-hull. This allows for the horizontal surfaces between the two hulls to connect creating a single volume, as if the BGM75 was a mono-hull, but with larger spaces and the possibility of having a full beam owner’s cabin of extraordinary dimensions. Also viewed from the stern, BGM75 is not comparable to traditional catamarans, thanks to an elegant and balanced mono-hull which ‘incidentally’ has two hulls. BGM75 was launched during the Cannes 2023 boat show after three years of meticulous studies and analysis, culminating in the construction of a full-scale prototype of the hull to validate the research data, guarantee unparalleled sailing comfort and confirm the advantages of this particular multihull setting in terms of sustainability. In this large time dedicated to design, Bernardo Zuccon and Piero Lissoni, world famous designers, have fully grasped the power of such an avant-garde project, giving respectively a contribution to the external lines that makes them today the classics of the future, and for interiors with an original approach in terms of lay-out, use of spaces and materials, resulting in maximum comfort, refinement and distinctive livability. For all these reasons, BGM75 perceives itself to be much more than a yacht, it’s the firstborn of a new concept that BlueGame will develop over different ranges, with a smaller BGM already in planning stages.

Project: Bluegame BGM75

The BGM75, the first model from Bluegame to enter the multihull segment with concept and naval architecture by Briand and design from Zuccon and Lissoni.  Bluegame and Sanlorenzo Group first multihull is different, creating from many points of view a new, parallel segment to the catamarans that have till today come on the market. Consistent with Sanlorenzo Group’s positioning, she is first and foremost a luxurious, beautiful yacht that “by chance” has not one but two hulls. Not even in this last feature, though, it can be compared to any existing catamaran on the market, primarily because from the first glance, the shape moves away from the “boxy” shape of a catamaran, thanks to the reduced width in favour of a ratio between beam and length closer to a mono-hull. This allows for the horizontal surfaces between the two hulls to connect creating a single volume as if it were a monohull; but with larger spaces and the possibility of having a full beam owner’s cabin of extraordinary dimensions. This layout is not possible on traditional catamarans, where the two hulls are too far apart to allow the aforementioned connection and are arranged separately inside the two hulls. Also viewed from the stern, thanks to the length-to-width ratio, the BGM75 is not comparable to traditional catamarans, where the two hulls are visibly separated. The aesthetic impact is of an elegant and balanced monohull and the space between the two hulls normally unused on traditional catamarans, conceals a garage for the tender, whose descent into the water is fully automated. The reduced width also allows the BGM75 to be moored between monohull boats and not between much larger superyachts, due to the disproportionate ratio between width and length. In the Unique Selling Proposition of the BGM75 there are many differentiating elements, but the most valuable one is the search for effective sustainable solutions, with particular reference to the reduction of consumption. It is precisely in this last aspect that the shipyard expresses with this model its full Research and Development capacity.  Bernardo Zuccon and Piero Lissoni the designers have been instrumental in creating many of the greatest successes of Bluegame and Sanlorenzo group, have fully grasped the power of such an avant-garde project, giving respectively a contribution to the external lines that makes them today the classics of the future and for the interiors an original approach in terms of lay-out, use of spaces and materials, resulting in maximum comfort, refinement and distinctive liveability.

New Model: Horizon PC68

During the 2023 Palm Beach boat show Horizon debuted its PC68 model.  The new, ultra-spacious Horizon PC68 model has been meticulously planned to meet and exceed the cruising needs of discerning boaters, and features multiple design innovations including of which is a four-stateroom layout with the option for an expansive open-plan salon or an on-deck master stateroom. While the On-Deck Master configuration offers a full-beam master with wraparound windows forward on the main deck, the debuting PC68 features an Open Salon layout, which offers an expansive salon area and a large seating and entertainment space on the main deck. This layout sees all four of the staterooms positioned off the salon, with two king ensuite staterooms forward in the hulls and two convertible twin-to-king ensuite cabins aft to port and starboard, respectively.  An expansive aft deck hints at the interior volume provided by the PC68 seven meters beam, and features a regal hi-gloss table with dining for ten, a wet bar and the option for a 43in TV. The lounge seating looks aft to the Hi/Lo swim platform which is flanked by large wet lockers storing diving and snorkeling equipment.  Ease of access is prioritized throughout the design, and walkaround side decks on the main deck lead to a lounging space forward. A unique and enviable Portuguese deck seating area with convertible Hi/Lo dinettes is a new feature for this model, which allows either sun beds or dining under the stars. The extended flybridge on this model allows for a variety of layout options while comfortably accommodating a five meter 100hp tender. The flybridge and boat deck comprise plentiful seating and lounging, a dayhead with shower, BBQ station, chest freezer, and a bar to port with fridge doors and a Scotsman icemaker. Forward of the helm, an innovative raised hatch and door accesses the Portuguese deck with three steps down to the foredeck.  Defined by award-winning advanced composites SCRIMP system construction that yields the most durable, lightweight hull marrying a perfect glass-to-resin ratio, with rigorous testing by the Horizon shipyard’s pioneering Non-Destructive Methods, the Horizon PC68 is fitted with twin MAN 850hp engines as standard to guarantee quiet, stable and efficient cruise of twenty knots.

Improve-it = Silent 60

Silent has launched a Front Exit version of its 60 model from its facility in Thailand. The new version provides owners with an even wider choice of layout options. The first Front Master version of the Silent 60 was launched last spring and had four guest cabins and a crew cabin. In comparison, the principle novelty of the Front Exit version is the direct access to the foredeck area with open-air lounging space for up to six people via a forward doorway in the main salon. This enhances the circulation flow for guests around the boat and improves natural ventilation by creating a through-breeze when the forward and aft doors are left open.

Project: Silent 62 3-Deck

Silent Yachts continues an exciting journey to the bright and green future, with the innovative Austrian shipyard introduced a new project based on the Silent 60 model, now with another level of space and comfort for its guests. The Silent 62 Tri-Deck is based on the 60 platform, however, it includes a third deck and adds two feet to the hull’s length.  One unit has been sold to a client in Europe and two units to clients from the US.  The Silent 62 Tri-Deck will have an extra deck instead of a flybridge which comes with the standard 60 model. This allows to add fifty square meters of useful space for guests. Three different layout options are available for the third deck: open sky lounge, closed sky lounge or an owner’s suite.  Open sky lounge version: instead of the standard flybridge, the open version offers a open fly deck with bar and galley, a dining table and bench for ten to twelve persons, several sofas and lounge areas and a fly helm.  Closed sky lounge version: provides a closed fly deck equipped with a bar, a second galley and a dining table offering an unobstructed 360° panoramic view. Aft of the sky-lounge there is a terrace with several sofas and lounge areas.  Owner’s suite version: offers a generous owner´s suite with an en-suite bathroom and an unobstructed 360° panoramic view. Aft of the owner´s suite, there is a private terrace with several sofas and lounge areas.  The Silent 62 Tri-Deck has a high-performance hull shape that has been optimized with CFD study, with longer waterline and reverse bow. Her exterior design’s signature details are the long window stripe at the sidewall of the hull and more window surface overall.   The catamaran yacht can be handled by two people with ease and offers plenty of space for families and crew. The optional hydraulic stern platform which also serves as a swimming platform, can accommodate a tender of up to four meters in length. For adventurers, additional water toys, SUP´s, kayaks and e-bikes can be stored in the bridge deck.  The powertrain used for the new model is the same as for the Silent 60, with the 62 Tri-Deck equipped with 42 powerful solar panels achieving up to 17 kWp. The self-sufficient yacht uses silent electric propulsion for unlimited range with no noise or fumes and minimal vibration. Because of that, the operational costs of the vessels are substantially lower compared to power yachts using more traditional propulsion systems. The yacht’s draft is just under one meter, which allows her to reach shallower bays which might be crucial for areas like the Caribbean and South East Asia.  The Silent 62 Tri-Deck is available in several layouts ranging from three to six staterooms on the lower deck with a maximum of six bathrooms. All staterooms offer double or twin berths, and all heads include a separate shower. There is a vast salon with wide windows on the main deck and the yacht features large outside areas in the aft and bow area in order to enjoy nature and keep guests in close contact with the sea.  The salon offers fifty square meters of space while the main deck outside offers just under seventy square meters. The living area on the lower deck occupies up to 62 m².  The Silent 62 Tri-Deck is a true ocean-going cruising yacht. She can cruise efficiently for up to 100 miles a day for weeks. At the same time, the arrangement of the components enables the yacht to power all on board systems without the need to run a generator. The generator is only used to recharge the batteries in the rare case when it is required to sustain higher speeds during longer periods of time or when the weather conditions are unfavourable for several days.
