New Model: Cabo 44 Express

Following on the success of the Cabo 44 Hardtop Express, the famous production sportfish is clever to present a full open version of this the 44 Express, which replaces the long standing 45 model.  With a hull designed by famous underwater lines specialist Michael Peters the main difference between its predecessor is the removal of the hardtop. But this little detail changes the whole concept of this sportfish cruiser, also making it become a more fisherman hardcore machine.  The elevated pod helm station comes standard with two seats with an option of third.  Inside is also the same ingenious interior with a single cabin and a fisherman utility room, or a two cabins choice in between the L-shaped settee and galley.  Power is for four engine choices from twin Cats 710 up to 1150hp, with MAN 800s in between.

Project: Steeler 60 Trawler

At the last of 2012 Steeler Yacht from Holland presented two new projects which aim at more blue cruisers long range customers.  PowerYacht showed the first of these with the 47 Explorer a few days ago, and now we show you the more tug boat looking 60 Trawler.  As the builder name suggests the 60 Trawler will be a steel build featuring a deck and a half, with a raised pilot house and very well protected deep ship standard side deck.  The 60 Trawler is designed by Martin Bekebrede who went for a full displacement hull able to tackle all the seven seas of planet earth.  We have very little details of the interior but the yacht mid three vertical windows suggest the choice of a full beam owners cabin.

New Model: Sarnico 46 Spider GTS

Presented in the fall of 2011, this is the Sarnico 46 Spider GTS.  This new 46 GTS is a further development of the original Spider presented in 2006 designed by such great signatures as Nuvolari and Lenard for the lines and layouts, and Victory Brunello Acampora for the superb underwater shape.  This new larger Spider is again a design of the same renowned designers. As the signature in the name suggests the 46 Spider GTS offers creature comforts and some interesting options to make it more become a cruiser.  These optional are the hardtop as hull one was in fact delivered, and a choice for the exterior cockpit to have it with two sunbeds, or large L-shaped settees.  Inside the 46 Spider GTS is no slough offering two cabins sleeping five, and a well sized shower head.  The midships cabin sleeps three persons having a french double, and single berth to starboard.  Power options are three Cummins engines from 480 up to 700hp with the Italian made innovative Flexidrive surface drive propulsion.  Flexidrive was used by Sarnico first time on its not so long ago presented flagship, and considering this is the new model following it we should see this more in use on future releases from this well respected Italian boat builder.

Project: Sanlorenzo SL118

Sanlorenzo presents a new flagship project for its SL planning line which currently start with the builders entry level 62 model, and ends with the 108.  The SL line represents Sanlorenzo more in demand line with models as the 72 and 82 being around fifteen years in production and receiving the SL make over when ownership change happened in the middle of the past decade.  The SL 118 extends this line by ten feet and apart maintaining the usual exterior Sanlorenzo looks now renowned to any yacht connoisseur World wide it introduces the wide body in the forward part to this line.  Sanlorenzo have already used this to the much acclaimed multi prized 40 Alloy.  Semi custom as all Sanlorenzo in the SL line the 118 is offered in two interior deck layout with an accommodation guest plan situated more to midships, and crew cabin to fore or the other way round.  In both plans the owners cabins is located on the main deck, but in one plan this takes more the looks of an apartment with a saloon presented to starboard.  The SL 118 is to be powered by twin MTU 2600hp engines with traditional in line propulsion which give a max speed of 28 knots.

Web: Sciallino New Web Site

Sciallino from Italy presents its new World wide web showroom.  Founded in 1961 by Mario Sciallino in the Ligurian riviera town of Ceriale, this company started by building working boats for the fisherman of the area.  This start gave Sciallino a growing knowledge of how to build safe boats able to tackle rough seas, and in the early eighties Mario also wins the title of Nautical Pioneer for his below the waterline extension known as Pattino, which increased stability and also allowed the use of bigger engines.  After this development in the Sciallino hulls the builder has evolved in building traditional looking cruisers and yachts characterized by looks echoing the Ligurian Gozzo.  Today Sciallino builds nine models starting from the Ino 3.80 mts this being its latest model, to the much appreciated and luxurious 15.95 mt Gemy flagship.  Sciallino new web site is available in English and Italian language and takes you around with the following buttons; Home, History, The Values, Models, Sciallino Amico, Dealer, Press Release, News, and Contact.

Project: Sunseeker 68 Predator

Sunseeker show up the project of the new 68 Predator which takes a lot of cues from the Southampton boat show 2012 presented 80 model of the same range.  As is usual with recent Sunseeker the new 68 Predator abounds with window glass surfaces in all interior areas both below and above, this allowing plenty of natural light inside.  A three double cabins accommodation plan is offered with the main deck hosting the main living relaxing activities in a well laid saloon settee, and a C-shaped dining table standing to port side of the helm station.  A galley is located in the lower deck.  Crew accommodation is for two persons.  Engine choices are standard twin Cats 1150 or optional MTU 1270hp on shaft drives.  Alternative surface drives propulsion plus MTU 1625hp choice is available, this pushing top speeds up to 42 knots.

New Model: Baja 30 Outlaw GT

The first model of Baja new GT series the 30 Outlaw which is to be followed by a 35 which is currently in project stages.  The new Baja GT series is a pimped up Outlaw model with more aggressive features all around.  It also features  a more impressive standard list from a Porta-Potti with dock side discharge, digital gauges, underwater lights, and powder coater railings. The 30 Outlaw GT offers a powerboat interior with a small Vee shaped berth to fore, V-shape dinette, small galley, and a shower head.  Power is from Mercruiser 320 till 565hp with racing stern drive propulsion.

Project: Windy 29 Coho

With its handling, good looks, and versatile cockpit, Windy Boats new 29 Coho sportsboat looks to be one of the show stoppers in this size at the 2013 Düsseldorf Boat Show. The new 29 Coho reaffirms Windy’s new focus on core brand values, with a pared-down, classic profile, a rapier sharp deep-vee hull designed by Hans-Jørgen Johnsen, and a blistering top speed of over 45 knots with the large engine choice. Replacing the popular and long-serving 28 Ghibli in the shipyard’s model range, the new 29 Coho features an extended hull and lengthened bathing platform, with a new cockpit layout that emphasises outdoor living and relaxation. Large rhomboid windows in the topsides let in lots of light down below, where the upgraded accommodation centres on a large, luxuriously finished double berth forward, with a practical head and shower compartment, and a useful and well-equipped galley area by the companionway. Along with the new 26 Kharma and 31 Zonda, the 29 Coho features Windy’s ingenious new canopy design, which can be easily put up by one person in just a few minutes, and is completely hidden when stowed. Like many of its stablemates this new Windy model is named in honour of a wind in this case the cold airstream that blasts down the Columbia River valley in Oregon, which is in turn named after the legendary silver-sided Pacific salmon. The aptly-named Coho is available with single or twin, petrol or diesel sterndrive installations.  Single Volvo 400 or twin 220hp diesel engines, and single 380hp petrol gas are available.

New Model: Contest 52 MC

This is a very interesting new model, which comes from a builder Contest, who ventures into motor powered yachts going into its fiftieth anniversary.  The 52 MC is Contest first venture into engine based powered yachts.  Its looks are a bit a hybrid of modern and traditional with some parts of its looks giving a shout to the current interpretation of the down East lobster boat. The 52 MC is a design by Georg Nissen, engineered by Vripack, with interiors by Wetzel Brown Partners all in cooperation with the Contest team.  Her accommodation plan is offered in three different layouts; a three cabin versions A plan, and two twin cabins version, with C plan replacing cabin three to starboard with a galley below deck.  Standard engine power is twin 305hp Perkins, or Cummins 330 engines.

Project: Paragon 25 Ranger

This project of Paragon 25 Ranger has been announced at the start of 2012, but then delayed to the trouble this Swedish yacht builder part of the Nimbus group has encountered in the middle of the same year.  Now the new Paragon model should be premiered at this moment at the Dusseldorf boat show.  The Ranger is an open version of the standard 25 Paragon presented in early 2012.   The 25 Ranger will still feature the two berth cuddy cabin but will miss the enclosed pilot house.  A huge all around rubber protection rubber fender also makes the Paragon 25 Ranger look like a Rib to the untrained eye.  Power is single Volvo Diesel engine from 225 till 300hp.
