Project: Windy 29 Coho

With its handling, good looks, and versatile cockpit, Windy Boats new 29 Coho sportsboat looks to be one of the show stoppers in this size at the 2013 Düsseldorf Boat Show. The new 29 Coho reaffirms Windy’s new focus on core brand values, with a pared-down, classic profile, a rapier sharp deep-vee hull designed by Hans-Jørgen Johnsen, and a blistering top speed of over 45 knots with the large engine choice. Replacing the popular and long-serving 28 Ghibli in the shipyard’s model range, the new 29 Coho features an extended hull and lengthened bathing platform, with a new cockpit layout that emphasises outdoor living and relaxation. Large rhomboid windows in the topsides let in lots of light down below, where the upgraded accommodation centres on a large, luxuriously finished double berth forward, with a practical head and shower compartment, and a useful and well-equipped galley area by the companionway. Along with the new 26 Kharma and 31 Zonda, the 29 Coho features Windy’s ingenious new canopy design, which can be easily put up by one person in just a few minutes, and is completely hidden when stowed. Like many of its stablemates this new Windy model is named in honour of a wind in this case the cold airstream that blasts down the Columbia River valley in Oregon, which is in turn named after the legendary silver-sided Pacific salmon. The aptly-named Coho is available with single or twin, petrol or diesel sterndrive installations.  Single Volvo 400 or twin 220hp diesel engines, and single 380hp petrol gas are available.

Project: Steeler 47 Explorer

After gaining quite a following with its new modern looking NG line, the Dutch firm Steeler changes direction and present the 47 Explorer.  As the title in the model designation this new project from Steeler is an explorer cruiser.  This new Steeler also represents a fresh new look outside taking more cues from working canal boats, then from trawler US fishing boats as is usually the case in these type of craft.  Steeler has not passed much information but we know that the 47 Explorer is an all steel build and should weight at about 24 tons.
