Project: Sunseeker 57 Predator

Just launching its new 155 Yacht flagship Sunseeker seems to make the 2014 year one to remember for its fans, by presenting important models in various sizes. The 57 Predator is a project which should launch at the fall of this year, and evolves the brands semi custom concept in its smaller models. So choice is the word in the new Sunseeker especially to what regard the main deck. The 57 Predator will in-fact have an option to have this with an open hard top layout, or with a patio door which splits the area. In both choices the lower deck remains unchanged with two large cabins; owners stateroom amidships, VIP to fore, small bunk two berths third cabin, L-shaped galley, and a medium sized L-shaped dinette. A single berth crew cabin will be available to aft. Power for the 57 Predator will be from twin Cats 715hp, and go up the options list to MAN 800hp, and Volvo 900hp. All these engines are to be available with line shafts or optional Arneson surface drives, with a pod choice possible with twin Volvo IPS couple to twin 725hp engines.

New Model: Sunseeker 155 Yacht

A new flagship even if extending length by a foot is always big news for any boat builder. Sunseeker's new 155 Yacht extends the British builder not by a couple of feet but by an important 25 feet in length. But the most important note in this new big girl of the Sunseeker family is that unlike it's smaller sisters it is build of aluminium, features a semi displacement round bilge hull shape, and that customization is take to another level thanks to a modular type build. Commissioned by long time Sunseeker fan, Formula One famous Eddie Jordan, he launched a few flagships for them in his past, the new Poole largest build will accommodate twelve guest in three separate cabins in its first hull. Still Sunseeker say that the 155 Yacht incorporates a very modular type build which can make for any possible variations of the 155 Yachts not only the interior layout but also the exteriors, going into each owner personal taste. Power is twin MTU 2940hp which gives a max speeds of 22 knots, and a range of 4000 nautical miles at an economic cruise speed.  Full commissioning for 155 Yacht hull one will be carried out in coming Spring.

Project: Sunseeker 75 Yacht

Sunseeker presents the 75 Yacht project will make its world debut at the London Boat Show this January 2014.  The striking new yacht will be unveiled to the world at the 60th anniversary of the internationally renowned Boat Show. As the latest addition and new entry model to the Sunseeker Yacht range, the 75 is the embodiment of style that the Poole British brand is famous for.  The spacious nature of the yacht is continued in the interior thanks to its three double suites and twin bed guest arrangement. Accommodating up to eight guests, the 75 Yacht is ideal for entertaining and with each cabin featuring its own en-suite, guests have privacy guaranteed.  In addition, the main galley and dining area have been designed to maximize the spacious feel of the yacht. The main saloon area offers a sophisticated yet comfortable environment in which to relax and the careful design of the sofa encourages sociability among guests. However, the most notable feature in this area of the 75 Yacht is its Z shaped panoramic glazing and hull windows. This not only offers breathtaking views of the open waters, but also floods the main saloon with natural light and enhances the overall feeling of space. What’s more the main galley and dining area has been redesigned to provide additional space.  The interior design of the 75 Yacht has been completed to the highest standard to reflect the exclusive nature of the yacht. The attention to detail throughout features intricate details in the leather wrapped cabinetry. The outdoor entertaining areas of the 75 Yacht are just as impressive as those on the inside, as guests can take advantage of the impressive flybridge. Ideal for those who enjoy the thrill of the open air, this expansive outdoor area sports a new style wet bar area in addition to an inviting large seating area. Having increased engine room space made it possible for the 75 Yacht to feature larger Cat engines which makes it possible to to reaches top end speeds of 34 knots.

Project: Sunseeker 86 Yacht

Sunseeker presents the project for a new 86 Yacht model which should replace the 88.  As the rendering shows the 86 Yacht follows exterior styling cues of the very much praised 28 Metre larger model introduced in 2012.  That means that a predominant feature of the 86 is that of a large window areas in both the main and lower decks.  The 86 also features a nice integrated hard top which covers over half of the area of the flybridge.  Four large cabins accommodate the owner and guests in the 86 Yacht. Interesting the owners stateroom of the 86 Yacht while still located amidships is in between the VIP to fore and the two guest cabins looking aft.  The VIP suite located to fore also features a separate staircase.   A nice feature is also the bar area on the central located galley on the main deck.  Two crew cabins with a small lobby and galley are located to stern.  Power is twin engines which total 3850hp and should give max speed up to 30 knots.

Sunseeker New Web Site

Renowned British builder Sunseeker updates its world wide web showroom to a new 2013 platform. The new web-site is totally renovated to the previous version. Sunseeker was founded in 1960 by Robert Braithwaithe as Poole Powerboats Limited at first importing boats from the USA and Scandinavia, and later on in the early seventies started building its own first breed of boats from 17 to 23 feet. From 1978 Sunseeker gets the help of growing in fame British powerboat designer Don Shead, who has since then continued building larger cruisers and yachts reaching always bigger sizes. An important mile stone for Sunseeker was reached in 1995 when the company launched its first Super Yacht with the 80 Predator model. This opened a whole new era for Sunseeker which today is a big representative of the plus eighty super yacht size global order book with a 40 Meter Yacht delivered, and a 155 being in advanced building stages. Sunseeker was this year 2013 bought by Chinese company Dalian Wanda Group, now holding a majority 92% stake share in the famed boat builder. The Poole company current line up features six model ranges; Yacht, Sport Yacht, Predator, Manhattan, San Remo, and Portofino. The current entry level model is the 40 Portofino, and the largest is the still in construction 155 Yacht. The latest model for 2013 is the 55 Manhattan. Sunseeker new web site takes you around with the following buttons; Menu, Home, About Us, News and Events, plus tabs for the six ranges. Sunseeker is also featured on the social media with its dedicated pages on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, and has its Appstore all linked from the new website in the right bottom corner.

Project: Sunseeker 55 Manhattan

Sunseeker, always in a research to redevelop itself shows us this new 55 Manhattan project which will be presented live in the coming days in Cannes and then in Southampton boat shows, a flybridge motor yacht of a long coming evolution.  This latest Sunseeker, was actually born as a 50 model more or less about a decade ago, developed to a 52 in 2007, 53 in 2010 and now finds its latest development as the 55 Manhattan.  The most noticeable difference in this new entry level of the Manhattan range is definitely the large S-shape large view side windows serving the cabins below, something which the Poole builder started on the 80 Predator over a year ago, and now seems to be extended to all models. But this is not the only difference from the 53, as the 55 features a larger flybridge extended in length, and also a redesigned interior which has a free choice when ordering new of having the galley on the lower or the main deck.

New Model: Sunseeker 80 Sport Yacht

Another exciting new exclusive on PowerYachtBlog, this time coming courtesy to one of our British friends, picturing one of the novelties from Suneeker to be launched in the coming fall; the 80 Sport Yacht just as the model was launched outside of the builder premises in Poole. The Sunseeker 80 Sport Yacht is a further development of the Predator model of the same designation launched the past September 2012.  As is a standard procedure in recent times on sport yachts over twenty meters, the difference between the two models is the addition of a flybridge or as sometimes it is called a sports bridge in the 80 Sport Yacht. Still Sunseeker seem to offer a spacious offer up top with the bridge having a C-shaped settee to starboard, a central wet bar, and a two driver and co-pilot seats serving the helm to port.   For the rest this model is the same as the 80 Predator with four double guest suites, a crew cabin to aft, and a full lounging saloon main deck.  Power options start from standard twin MTU 1550hp, optional 1950hp units, and the surface drive only available 2640hp fast performing large offer.
Technical Data:
LOA - 24,9 m (81.8ft)
Beam - 6.09 m
Draft - 1.86 m inc props
Displacement - 56,000 kg half load
Fuel Capacity - 6000 l
Water Capacity - 1200l
Accommodation - 8 guest berths in 4 cabins, 2 crew berths in 1 cabin
Engines - 2 x MTU 12V 1550hp, 12V2000 M94 1950hp, 16V 2000 M94 2640hp only with surface drives
Propulsion - line shaft with props in semi tunnels, or Arneson surface drives
Speed - 46 knots max, 30 knots cruise with MTU 2640hp and Arneson surface drives option
Construction - hand laid GRP with Vinilester skin coat and powder pound mat

New Model: Sunseeker 80 Predator

It was more or less nineteen years ago that Sunseeker presented its first eighty footer the 80 Predator, considering how big its super yacht portfolio has become and the size increase of the British Poole based brand has increased, at the moment a new flagship 155 Yacht is in build that was an important move back then.  This new 80 Predator follows the name of that first Sunseeker super yacht with two generations of design difference and a confidence that today marks it as among the top semi producers in the eighty plus foot segment.  This new 80 Predator follows Sunseeker latest design stints of huge glass surfaces both above and below in the cabins area.  Her accommodation plan is a spacious traditional layout with a full beam midships owners stateroom, VIP suite to fore, and two guest cabins in between.  A galley is located below to port side in a separate conceived area, while a crew cabin with two berths is located to aft.  The living is all located on the main deck with a large lounging saloon to starboard, and a dining to port.  Power options are a varied choice from MTU which starts at 1550 and ends up to 2640hp with the large engine available only with Arneson surface drives set up.

Project: Sunseeker 80 Sport Yacht

Presented as a new line by Sunseeker at the start of year the Sport Yacht range features five models three of which still in project stages.  The 80 Sport Yacht will sit in the middle of this range and is based on the Southampton 2012 presented Predator of the same designation with the addition of a sport bridge deck on top.   A formula which seems to be working quite more in recent years.  The sport bridge of the 80 Sport Yacht will be accessed from a stair case to port side.  The layout of the bridge will feature a helm to port side, and a large C-shaped settee opposite with a wet bar in the middle.  So far Sunseeker have not listed any detailed interior plans for the 80 Sport Yacht, but in my book this should feature a similar layout to the Predator who has four double guest cabins, and a very smart single level main deck with dining and relaxing areas.  Power for the Sunseeker 80 Sport Yacht start from three MTU engine choice from 1550hp and goes up to 2640 units, these last available only with the Arneson surface drives propulsion option.

Project: Sunseeker 68 Sport Yacht

Sunseeker presents the new 68 Sport Yacht which follows on the lines and interior plans of the just presented Predator of the same designation.  So whats the difference?  The 68 Sport Yacht will feature a sport flybridge and will also be the entry level model of this five model range from Sunseeker which spans up to the 115.  The flybridge is to be accessed via a port side integrated stair case, and will be according to plans a spacious affair featuring a C-shaped settee to starboard, dual seat helm station to port, and a passengers forward looking bench. The interior offers a three double cabins with a full beam owners stateroom, and the galley located below.  The main deck is all reserved for entertainment with a relaxing loung sofa on entrance, and an L-shaped dining table to port to the other side of the interior helm.  A two berth crew cabin is located to aft. Engines are three choices from Cat or MTU starting at 1150 up to 1622hp.  The most powerful choice is available only with Arneson surface drives and should give speeds up to 40 knots.

Project: Sunseeker 101 Sport Yacht

Sunseeker presents a new line the Sport Yacht which takes over from the Predator tag in the bigger yachts line and those which feature the not much visible sport bridge feature.  Two models who previously named Predator the 115, and 130 have been renamed to this new line, but Sunseeker has already three new projects in the pipeline to launch later on this year 2013.  One of these new project models is the 101 Sport Yacht.  A double four cabins super sport yacht which adds to Sunseeker latest design trends, see large view window in hull sides, and dark coach roof which integrated seamlessly with the sport flybridge.  The main deck will be reserved for pure entertainment with a large lounge settee, and a dining table located behind the central three seat helm station. Power will be from twin MTU 2440hp engines which should give max speeds to about 30 knots.

Project: Sunseeker 68 Predator

Sunseeker show up the project of the new 68 Predator which takes a lot of cues from the Southampton boat show 2012 presented 80 model of the same range.  As is usual with recent Sunseeker the new 68 Predator abounds with window glass surfaces in all interior areas both below and above, this allowing plenty of natural light inside.  A three double cabins accommodation plan is offered with the main deck hosting the main living relaxing activities in a well laid saloon settee, and a C-shaped dining table standing to port side of the helm station.  A galley is located in the lower deck.  Crew accommodation is for two persons.  Engine choices are standard twin Cats 1150 or optional MTU 1270hp on shaft drives.  Alternative surface drives propulsion plus MTU 1625hp choice is available, this pushing top speeds up to 42 knots.

For the upcoming 2013 London boat show, Sunseeker will present two new models one of which is the 50 San Remo.  This new Sunseeker sport yacht should replace the current 48 Portofino in production since mid 2010, with hull side windows profile taking a lot from the just launched entry level 40 model.   The 50 San Remo is a further development of the outgoing 48 model, and shares many similarities with it from the hull to the interior and exterior layout plan.  Inside the 50 San Remo features a full beam owners stateroom, and VIP double berth which can become two single berths via scissor movement.  The saloon can also be specified to offer a Pullman berth.  Outside unlike the 48 Portofino which had two options, the 50 San Remo will be offered with the sunpad with underneath a garage, C-shaped settee only choice.  Power specifications have not been mentioned but I do imagine similar Volvo 435hp with IPS pod drives as the choice.

New Model: Sunseeker 40 Portofino

It's been one of the most waited new models from Sunseeker in recent times, and finally it has arrived. This is the 40 Portofino hull one launching in mid Summer and making its World premier in Cannes, France.  A return from the British Poole based boat builder to a forty feet entry level sport cruiser.  It is very interesting how the British have in recent times attacked this 35 to forty feet sport cruiser bracket.  Sunseeker has in previous years performed below expectations with its latest entry level models, 375 and 35 Portofino respectively so it will be interesting to see what the 40 will do. The new 40 Portofino follows a family feeling on the looks emulating the larger 48, and Predator 54 and 60 models, with the integrated hard top and huge side view glass surfaces being an important part of its design.  Sunseeker with the 40 Portofino go a different route to most offers in this segment for the cockpit layout, going for a small aft sun pad which can convert to double in size, C-shaped settee, wet bar to port side, and two forward looking settees the one to starboard being for the helm.  There is also the option for an extended up and down bathing platform which increases tender capacity and makes lifting and lowering easier. Down below design by renowned Ken Freivokh is a standard layout of two cabins, C-shaped saloon, galley and one guest head.  The midships guest cabin has also option to be a three berth cabin, with bed three replacing the unit on the entrance.  Standard engine power is twin Volvo 330hp give a 35 knots top speed.  A faster 40 knots max is being estimated with the larger 400hp units.

New Model: Sunseeker 28 Metre Yacht

Sunseeker definitely shows a lot of innovation pursuit in this new model which was officially presented at the start year January held London boat show.  To sum it up shorty the 28 Metre Yacht by Sunseeker makes most other modern looking yachts look old.  This new pocket sized super Sunseeker yacht is innovative in many areas, you can start by the use of Kevlar materials for the upper structure, the loads of glassed window surfaces in all areas, the settee and sun bed filled fore deck area, and active fin stabilizers for stability at anchor or slow displacement speeds.  Inside Sunseeker 28 Metre Yacht again show pursuit of innovation with a layout which has separate entrances for the forward located VIP suite and owners stateroom which are in the forward part of the lower accommodation deck, to the central midships two other guest cabins. Spaces abound in this new Sunseeker which makes them seem also larger thanks to the huge large windows everywhere which makes for all areas being all natural light filled.  Power is from twin MTU 1950hp which will give a 29 knots max.  But other smaller engine options are available, although Sunseeker does not say what they are.

Project: Sunseeker 155 Yacht

Of the well known British production builders, Sunseeker has since 1991 with the 60 Renegade always been the one pushing the envolope of always larger sizes.  Sunseeker new flagship tri-deck 155 Yacht is now in build, and the first is due to launch in 2014. With a 4500 nautical mile range, this is the first ever semi-displacement, round bilge and long keel hull from the South England, Poole located Sunseeker. The 155 Yacht takes the concept of series building with personal customisation a step further than others, the modular composite build methodology virtually allowing owners a free hand, not just in the interior but also in the design of the actual superstructure. With a top speed of up to 26 knots the 155 Yacht will accommodate up to twelve guests and ten crew members.
