Project: Monte Carlo MC6

This should be one of the most awaited unveiling to come in the coming year as Monte Carlo shows the design of its forthcoming yacht, the MC6, due to be launched at the end of 2014. A 58 feet flybridge motor yacht the MC6 confirms the development of the revolutionary range in the luxury segment, as desired by Beneteau Group and top designers Nuvalari Lenard validating all the strong points of the Monte Carlo Yachts brand, in particular the solutions and attention to detail, which set Italian made yachts apart from the others.  This model is the last link to join both MCY and the smaller MC models, offering quality living space and combining quality materials, it is indeed a final step before going into the 65 model, entry level of the yacht range. In perfect harmony with the philosophy of the range, the flybridge is home to a large terrace, spacious sunbathing platforms, a roomy saloon with up to ten people capacity, comfortable seating to enjoy time on the water and total protection thanks to the carbon T-top.  The main, entirely open deck allows fluent communication between the kitchen, located at the heart of the living space, the vast saloon and the central cockpit. With its strong, timeless design, the MC6 offers original solutions in its class: three suites cabins all with en-suite bathroom, choice of beds configuration in both VIP and guest cabin, and, most of all, an owner suite at the rear with open plan en-suite bathroom.

Project: Monte Carlo MC4

Really nice lines in this Monte Carlo MC4 project, fresh from what most of the competition is offering outside.  Fair to say this has been the line followed by Monte Carlo Yachts, guided by Carla Demaria who has presented interesting looking and original craft in the high end motor yacht line from Beneteau Group since its inception more or less for over five years now. But lets also say it to the designers, Nuvolari and Lenard from Venice who have again over done themselves, something they do very well since the nineties.  I have a couple of projects in my mind from Nuvolari Lenard which are classics not only for me but for the motor yachting community in general.  This new MC4 which those of you who have been in Cannes or Genoa might have seen for real is the smaller sister to the MC5 presented earlier on in 2013.  It brings the same features of a nice flybridge motor cruiser, looking sports, classic see the bow, and at the same time handsome.  Practical features are packed all over from a full opening three part patio door joining the living of the main deck with the aft cockpit.  Interesting is also the flybridge, nearly invisible in the above rendering if it was not for the forward wind-shield, reached from a steel stair case to starboard it offers a spacious environment from a C-shaped dinette, forward looking settee plus a small sun lounge to port, and helm with a wet-bar behind it opposite.  Down below the MC4 offers two large cabins; full beam owners amidships, and VIP to fore.  Fair to say this layout is not a friendly one for a family, something which seems to be common in most Beneteau Group models of this size.  A scissor movement in the forward cabin bringing the double to two singles would definitely improve this.  Power comes from twin Volvo 300 or 370hp with IPS pod propulsion.

Project: Monte Carlo Yachts MCY86

Flagship motorboat line of the Beneteau Group, the announcement was made since the founding of the company back in 2009, that Monte Carlo Yachts will venture into super yacht size over 24 meters with this line and finally the project doing this comes from the fourth model, its upcoming MCY 86.  The Monte Carlo MCY86 flagship follows the family feeling Italians from Venice designers Nuvolari Lenard created with the previous 76, 65, and 70 models. An original design which sets a lot of hybrid from other genres creating a unique fresh look outside which gets more imposing and sporty in this new flagship.  That is at least what the above rendering transmits, thanks to a longer then usual fore deck, and a flybridge which looks lower due to the bigger size.  Inside although no layouts seem to be shown as yet Monte Carlo will take a flexible semi custom approach; with choices for a three, four or five cabin versions being available.  That is definitely very super yachts standard. The finishing of the interior will also come from highly regarded design firms with choices coming from Armani, Frau, Hermes, and Pierre Frey, this being added with the use of exquisite details as Venetian mosaics, cedar stone marbles, and Moka cream limestone.  But other super larger yachts technical elements also are part of the MCY86 some coming as optional others as standard; like the Jacuzzi spa on the flybridge, the must have carbon made T-top with opening soft top, to the main deck large venetian doors, opening side bathing platforms, and the Portuguese bridge.  Power is twin MAN 1800hp engines with estimated top speeds being at about 29 knots.

New Model: Monte Carlo MC5

It was without a doubt one of Dusseldorf most awaited World premiers, this is in short the Monte Carlo MC5.  This new MC5 aims to create a shorter bridge from current Beneteau motorboat owners, especially those in the Flyer line into the larger sized Monte Carlo range which spans currently up to 76 feet.  Designed as all the Monte Carlo brand series by Nuvolari Lenard the MC5 is characterized by latest trends in the interior and accommodation plan and hybrid exterior looks which put it them three styles; classic for the bow, sports for its low profile flybridge, and motor yacht.  A three double cabins plan, with a full beam owners stateroom characterize the lower deck.  A single berth crew cabin is located to aft.  The main deck is characterized by an astern galley as its main feature, and a saloon which can work as a relaxing lounge or dining area to port side of the helm.  Outside is all made in a well proportioned but one of the most innovative features is the wet bar and grill on the bathing platform.  Yes it is not the first time we see this but I think the MC5 manages to give it a new twist where we will see a couple of builders opting for this solution in the very near future.  Power is from twin Volvo 370 or optional 435hp with IPS pod drives.

Project: Monte Carlo MC5

The MC 5 Monte Carlo project announced by Beneteau at the eve of the Cannes show surprised me, in an intriguing aspect.  This was the return of the Monte Carlo signature used within the Beneteau sphere, something which I thought the brand wanted to separate three years ago when the first top end MCY line was launched and the sport cruiser range with this name then renamed to Flyer.  Designed as the innovative and luxurious Monte Carlo Yachts by Nuvolari Lenard, the looks of the MC 5 surprises for its mix, of ultra modern with classic futures as the bow or its flash deck. The MC5 Monte Carlo being a flybridge motor yacht still does look very sports, as an enclosed hard top sport cruiser.  Interior the MC 5 Monte Carlo designed by Andreani impresses for its abundant space thanks to the use of Volvo IPS pods; here offering a three double guest cabins lower deck, and a main deck with astern galley. Owners cabin is a full beam owners suite, VIP to fore, and a third cabin with bunk berths.  A single berth crew cabin is available aft.  Another area which surprises for spaces on layout seems to be the flybridge, offering a large C-shaped settee, and a settee plus sun pad to port side.  Power is twin Volvo 370 or 435hp with IPS pods units with an estimated top speed of 30 knots coming from the larger choice.

New Model: Monte Carlo Yachts MCY70

Beneteau Group flagship motor yacht brand presents its third chapter with the new bronze colored Monte Carlo MCY70.  Again as the smaller 65, and bigger 76 sisters the new MCY70 features design by the renowned Venice team of Nuvolari Lenard. The renowned design firm has again presented an imposing exterior which looks sports, and at the same time offers impressive spaces and a modern layout.  For the below cabin deck is an option of a three or four double cabins with three heads layouts.  In the three double cabins choice, this area is taken by a large walk-in wardrobe, replacing the twin bunk berths cabin.  Another impressive feature is also the flash main deck from aft to the helm which makes the continuity of this area a comfortable feature.  Power is a choice of MAN 1000 or 1200hp engine with Vee drive shafts, or ZF pods propulsion.  Speeds are a max of 33 knots.

New Model: Monte Carlo Yachts MCY65

A year after launching its first model Monte Carlo yachts the head lining motor yacht brand of Beneteau Group, presents the second of the range with MCY65.  Designed again by Italian firm from Venice Nuvolari and Lenard, the MCY65 continues the family feeling both inside and outside presented with the first Monte Carlo Yachts model the MCY76.  Again the Italian designers presented very hybrid external looks with what is a bit explorer, traditional, and ends its result as one of the most contemporary yachts in the market today.  A spacious three cabins lower deck, plus double crew cabin aft serves the MCY65.  The living deck is a split level saloon, with the MCY65 also featuring the much appreciated astern galley which also serves the cockpit and becomes a convivial area.  There is also an innovative office desk behind the helm to starboard side.  The flybridge continues the feel of space and a light weight carbon made hard top covered area which is practicable, and most of all looks stylish.  Impressive the performance not for its speed but for the not so big power 1000hp MAN engines which give a 31 knots max.
Technical Data:
LOA - 19.68 m (64.5ft)
Hull Length - 18.28 m

Project: Monte Carlo Yachts MCY65

Beneteau Group's Monte Carlo Yachts gets into second gear and presents its model number two by appearance with the project of the MCY65.  This new Monte Carlo is again a design of Nuvolari Lenard and is set to be presented in Cannes, and features the same innovative elements as found on the first model of the range the MCY76.  The MCY65 is a three cabins motor yacht, with an owners stateroom to midships, VIP suite to fore, and two single berths guest cabin also with private shower head to starboard.  A crew cabin for two is located to aft, with entrance on the bathing platform and from here another access to the engine room. The living main deck is a split level area with latest design elements as an astern galley and fully opening patio door, which makes it become a single part with the aft cockpit.  The flybridge is a cozy place, and is covered for most part by the carbon made opening T-top and features a C-shaped dinette, lounger to port side by the helm station located to port.  Impressive for the MCY65 is the weight of only 33 tons loaded which is among the lightest for a boat measuring over all 64 feet.  Power is from latest generation twin MAN 1000hp which should give a top speed of 31 knots, and a cruise of 27.  Propulsion has so far not been advised, so I am curious if it will have ZF pods as the MCY76 or traditional shafts.

Monte Carlo Yachts New Web Site

Monte Carlo Yachts is the new brand of Group Beneteau specialized in large motor yachts, and further to the first MCY 76 model launch it presents its online virtual showroom. Founded in 2008 Monte Carlo Yachts is the next step from the 1884 born Beneteau Group, and indeed it is a bold one considering the investment being done to ensure this is a top of the line product. Facilities for the construction of Monte Carlo are in fact new and based in Italy East part in Monfalcone, and design as is specialized stuff are Italian too. So far Monte Carlo Yachts has only launched one model, the future classic fused Nuvolari Lenard designed MCY76 presented in the middle of this Summer in Venice. But rest assured more is to come as good sales news are coming in, following the important shows in Europe. This first model wants also to be testimony of high standard from Monte Carlo thanks to a CE A class certification, construction process of lamination in infusion, and the use of Kevlar, Carbon materials for added strength. New Model: Monte Carlo Yachts MCY76

So much have been the talk about Beneteau Group going into the large motor yacht market. The official news was in 2007 and the fall of 2008 marked the creation of the Monte Carlo Yachts brand. But I think the bells where ringing much before this, when the Prestige models started making success with the 34 and 46 models back in the early part of the second millennium decade. The Monte Carlo MCY76 which launched at the end of July, just a month after showing some rendering details is a challenge to the market not only from a brand perspective, but also from a design point of view. It also represents a huge effort from Beneteau Group who for the new Monte Carlo brand moved everything to Italy where logistics to build this kind of yacht seems to be easier. The Monte Carlo MCY76 is a step forward both from its builders and Venetian designers Nuvolari Lenard and may be here lies the script of its success. For those that did not read the project preview PowerYacht did a month ago, here is a summary. The MCY76 is a three cabin or four cabin motor yacht, with a total of seven choices between lower, main and upper deck. Innovation comes in many forms from the solar powered hard top option, to the layout of the main deck, exterior looks which are a good hybrid mix of explorer and a modern fast yacht, and in the construction method. Power is from twin MAN 1200hp standard or 1400hp optional with ZF pods propulsion which delivers a top speed of 31 knots.
Technical Data:

Project: Monte Carlo Yachts MCY76

Monte Carlo Yachts MCY76 is the largest project to ever come from Beneteau Group to what concerns a motor boat. This new brand will focus in challenging the bigger boat market from Beneteau. While the capital for this venture is French, it is worth to note that all the management as is the premises of the yard will be Italian. The yard will be located in Monfalcone on the North East part of Italy just above Trieste, management trusted to Carla Demaria, design to Venetian firm Nuvolari Lenard, and Slovenian company Seaway taking care of engineering and naval architecture. The MCY76 is a bit different on the exterior looks, with its most distinct feature being the longer to today standard fore deck. From a certain point of view you can think it is one of the modern explorer yachts coming from Europe, but once you see the engines, MAN 1200 or 1400hp and estimated speeds of 31 knots max you can rest assured this is a planning motor yacht. The MCY76 will also have six version choices in flybridge, main and lower deck. You can go from a standard radar arch, to a T-top which is equipped with solar panels, three galley choices, and three or four cabins lower deck. Looking different to the competition is the fore peak with two C-shaped dinette to the sides converting to two sun pads, and an aft located dining table in the saloon. Construction is also very high tech what is a Vinilester resin, carbon fibre, Kevlar build with structural reinforcements being self supporting sandwich plating with longitudinal structures which have no floor plates.
