New Launch: Jarrett Bay 64 Sportfisherman Hull #65

Jarrett Bay Boatworks has delivered the latest evolution of their popular 64’ hull to owners with deep ties to the company since its inception nearly 37 years ago. The fifth custom boat to be commissioned by a family spanning three generations, Hull 65 has taken to the water with sleek styling and peak performance worthy of her force-to-be-reckoned, titled as m/y Rebelette as a nod to the owners’ allegiance to Ole Miss. Jarrett Bay has built many sportfish convertibles in the sixty-foot range over its history, but a series of recent 64 commissions have established this size as a signature length for it's custom fleet. Similar to every hull built before her, Rebelette was designed and built to the owner’s exact specifications and requests. Although the Alexseal Cloud White hull and top sides, along with the centreline helm station built into a peninsula console on the flying bridge, may resemble other recent Jarrett Bay builds, other likenesses are few in this latest launch. Hull 65 is the first new Jarrett Bay to be splashed with Caterpillar Marine’s latest propulsion technology, which has undergone hundreds of hours of strenuous testing on the Beaufort's custom builder 70 Sportfisherman hull 48, serving as the research and demo platform for Cat. With twin turbos on each engine, hull 65’s Cat engines are rated at 2,025hp and are complimented by the Three60 Precision Control joystick system. Jarrett Bay 64 Sportfisherman Hull#65 sea trials did not disappoint with smooth rides found at both an efficient cruise of 37 knots, with wide open speeds pushing 44 knots. Additionally, these CAT powerplants were extremely responsive in manoeuvring her loaded weight of over 35 tons as nimbly as vessels a fraction of her weight.

Project: Jarrett Bay 90 Sportfisherman Hull #68

Jarrett Bay Boatworks is excited to announce the commission of hull #68 by repeat owners for an impressive upgrade to a high-tech 27 meter super sportfish yacht with a full tower and open bridge.  Hull #68 will share Jarrett Bay's flagship spot with the 90 hull #62 launched in 2017, although technically looking at details this hull #68 is a bit larger and wider.  This custom ninety feet Jarrett Bay will be added to the builder’s long list of extraordinary projects with cutting-edge infusion and advanced lamination techniques, both to the superstructure and the decks, to save weight. The cold-molded hull will be traditionally crafted to ensure Jarrett Bay’s signature legendary ride, while a massive cockpit and bridge will provide the space needed to fish and relax comfortably. The range is expanded with her ability to carry more than 15,000 litres of fuel, allowing for extended travel.  There are few compliments greater than a returning customer, and Jarrett Bay boasts many owner families who have entrusted their craftspeople to build their dream sportfishing boat or yacht more than once. Final details are currently under review, including power options and the interior arrangement. Construction is set to begin in the early part of 2023.

New Launch: Jarrett Bay 56 Open Convertible Hull #67

Since the launch of Hull #57 the 46 Sportfisherman in 2011 Jarrett Bay has taken an innovative approach in some of its custom builds which break the standard mold of the sportfish cruiser or yacht.  This recently launched fully custom Jarrett Bay 56 Open Convertible Hull #67 titled m/y Renegade is again following to that approach which I am sure comes from a challenging clients request, which the Carolina boat builder is ready to make for a happy customer.  Hull #67 for example may look your traditional sportfish convertible with flybridge, but upon closer inspection, you’ll find an additional lower helm station and convertible bulkhead that makes her a unique hybrid with the ability to transform and open its main deck.  This layout changes how the interior works with a main galley located on the lower deck, while a dinette and smaller galley is located on the main deck.  Accommodation is for four, with a master cabin forward, and a guest cabin with twin bunks to starboard.  Jarrett Bay’s ride characteristics and performance are complemented by twin MTU 1600hp which give the 56 Open Convertible top speed up to forty knots.

Project: Jarrett Bay 110

Fresh on the launching of their largest and most advanced custom build to date, Jarrett Bay never stops looking forward to what could be next. Even with a full lineup of five hulls under construction and at least one more on the immediate horizon, Jarrett Bay engineers and draftsmen have been busy dreaming up another monster build, for a 110 sportfish superyacht.  Super Sportfish Yachts are a growing trend to come and once the eighty foot barrier was broken in both production and custom builders the new challenge is the thirty meters plus of size.  Jarrett Bay new 110 design proposal strikes for its profile, perfect proportions, remarkable seaworthiness and performance the North Carolina custom boat builder is so well-known for. Fully custom build this fully custom build is both available as an enclosed bridge as picture or a more sporty open bridge.  Interesting though is that Jarrett Bay has yet to build a boat with an enclosed bridge, the yard admits it has witnessed an increased interest in them recently, especially at the larger sizes. The 110 would be the first hull by Jarrett Bay to include both an enclosed bridge and open “sky bridge.” While the 110 would feel right at home dominating the best billfish spots on the planet, she is equally equipped and designed for exploration. When exploring the far reaches of the globe, most superyacht owners and captains opt for an enclosed bridge for year-round comfort and safety in almost any climate. This yacht design has attempted to include every amenity and creature comfort an owner could ever think of. The common requests will be available, including Seakeeper Gyro stabilization, whole boat control systems, unmatched electronics, navigation and A/V systems plus seawater desalination systems. However, there are thoughtful extras including the breakfast bar and common area centrally located below with the guest cabins, plus a third generator that provides for an ultra-quiet sleep mode. At the heart of her design is Jarrett Bay’s tried and true cold-molded hull modernized with the latest techniques in advanced composites learned from the carbon fiber-rich construction of the Jarrett Bay 90. Although her proportions are staggering, weight is kept in check with the use of advanced materials and composites and her draft remains under the two meter mark thanks to the precise placement of fuel and water tanks, and vital equipment, including the powerful twin MTU 4600hp engines and the 22000 liters of fuel to feed them. There’s no question that the crew of a renowned sport-fishing team works their butts off day in and day out. And when it’s tournament time, the work doubles. The 110 is every bit a hardcore fishing machine like every Jarrett Bay built to date, but her design lends a hand to the hard-working crew. Preliminary designs for this theoretical yacht includes a tender and toy garage for storing PWC’s, SUP’s, Kayaks and even a flats boat and motorcycles for exploring remote islands, all tucked away out of the elements in the fore-deck, making for a more chamois-free maintenance program for the crew.  The first interior designs of this concept include a full professional galley with complete appliance suite, including a double wall oven and plenty of chilled and frozen storage. A huge pantry accommodates the massive range this boat can travel. There’s also a separate breakfast bar amidship in the lower layout, providing quick bites for the guests anytime. Crew quarters below the mezzanine provide berths, a galley and space for lounging. Of course, being fully-custom the owner can opt for any interior arrangement they desire.

Jarrett Bay New Web Site

Founded in 1986 and this year celebrating thirty years in business custom sportfish builder Jarrett Bay Boatworks presents a newly updated website. Located as the majority of the Custom Sportfish builders in Carolina region, Jarrett Bay founders actually started up by offering charter fishing services. Out of need in 1986 the company needed to replace its boat, and here Jarrett Bay Boatworks is founded. Two years later the launching of hull number one, the 52 feet Sensation is a reality. Over twenty years later and main engines changed m/y Sensation is still in service as a full time charter boat. In the same year to the splashing of Sensation, number two goes in the water and as at today Jarrett Bay is building its hull number 62. what is the new 90 feet flagship.  That is excluding the twenty plus deliveries of semi custom fiberglass built centre consoles, which started in 2004 with the 32 Walk-Around Express, updated to the 34 Walk-Around Express in 2008. All the Jarrett Bay custom builds, are made with the cold moulding method, and take about two years to complete. Cold moulding is frame shaping in wood covered and protected with fibreglass and resin. The custom range has seen its smaller construction with the 25 Centre Console hull 10, and the largest being the currently in build 90 feet Sportfisherman hull 62. From its humble shed beginnings, today Jarrett Bay has expanded its facility to Beaufort in North Carolina at a 708,200 square-meters facility. The new building site can build up to four custom Jarrett Bay's in one time, and has also a maximum building length of up to 120 feet in length. Jarrett Bay's new online showroom takes you around with the following buttons: New Construction, Why Jarrett Bay, Service, Facilities, Clothing, News, Boats For Sale, Employment, Our Team, and Contact Us.  Jarrett Bay is also located on social media hubs; Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram with a button link to these pages on the bottom left of the page.

Project: Jarrett Bay 90 Sportfisherman Hull #62

With specifications finalized, Jarrett Bay Boatworks announces the start of construction on their newest and largest custom sportfish. Upon a projected spring 2017 delivery, hull 62 will span 90 feet and represent the next evolution in offshore battle wagon performance and comfort, designed to tackle the remote fisheries of the world in ultimate style. Working with a customer armed with a knowledge of boats, high tech engineering, and a passion to competitively fish anywhere, the mandate was simple: to use state of the art materials, design, and electronics to create the ultimate sportfish boat. In putting together the team, Jarrett Bay has included firms from Michigan, Rhode Island, Florida, Washington and of course North Carolina. Looking to make use of the latest innovations in building techniques to maximize strength, speed and overall quality, the Jarrett Bay 90 will feature substantial use of titanium and carbon fiber composites, including a carbon fiber bridge, cabin, decks and stringer system. To ensure maximum performance and optimize the signature Jarrett Bay ride, extensive virtual tank testing, actual in-water tank testing, a detailed weight study both initial and during the build, as well as composite testing are notable aspects of this build’s design process. Thanks to substantial weight reduction and increased structural strength, the end product will boast reduced loads, making the boat easier to handle and fuel efficient, all while yielding increased range and greater shear strength. Accommodation side the Jarrett Bay 90 Sportfisherman will feature six cabins and five shower heads, with the owners room being in a full beam midships plan. Power for the new Jarrett Bay 90 feet flagship will come from tein 2600hp MTU engines.

New Launch: Jarrett Bay 43 Hardtop Express Hull #53

It's been a long construction journey for this Jarrett Bay 43 Hardtop Express which started its life back in 2009, only to be halted a year later due to the recession. Come time the 43 Hardtop Express finds a new owner who jumps into completing hull number 53, and with this come a change of plans and design, transforming itself from an Open, to a Hardtop Express, and modifying the hull to accommodate ZF Zeus pods. In many ways the 43 Hardtop Express is Jarrett Bay most innovative build to date. The Hardtop which occupies the super structure makes it also look different to the other Jarrett Bay fifty plus custom builds. Inside the layout also brings some innovation mostly thanks to the use of the ZF pod drives and the engines located further aft which allow the space for a second twin berth midships located cabin. Performance wise the Jarrett Bay 43 Hardtop Express has still some nice numbers on its side, although not high as the usual custom sportfish boat of forty knots plus. Still the 43 Hardtop Express offers interesting economic runs at a cruise of 31 knots and a fuel burn of 5.5 litres per nautical mile.
