Project: Sealine C330 Cruiser

Sealine present the project for a new C330 model, based on the same hull as the S330 launched in September 2014.  The C330 is a fast, family cruising boat with two generous sized cabins and a fixed electrically operated sliding coach roof. With the hallmarks and characteristics of a Sealine, the new C330 combines innovative design features with outstanding versatility.  The unique design of the hull and deck offers ample space below, with the large hull windows and hatches letting lots of light and air into the luxurious interior. Future owners can choose between a huge number of equipment, material and color options to enable them to personalize their C330. The C330 will set new standards both with regard to headroom and the size of the berths, saloon and cockpit. The electrically operated sliding fixed roof lets the sun and air into the boat on warm days and provides cover when needed. A side door provides easy access to the deck. Astern, the saloon is separated from the cockpit with a glass door, with one side sliding to the side and the other side folding upwards on the starboard side. This facilitates the creation of a large, open and stylish social space between the coach roof and the cockpit. The large cockpit is a further highlight of the new Sealine C330: generously sized lounging areas perfect for relaxing in comfort or for long sunbathing sessions and can be shielded by a manual bimini roof system. An optional refrigerator can also be added in the passage to the coach roof.  The C330 can be powered by Volvo 330hp up to twin 220hp. Speed range is from 26 knots with the standard single engine up to 31 knots from the twin units.

Project: Galeon 305 Open

Galeon continue to upgrade its 300 entry level series choice with the third installment coming from the 305 Open version.  Surely by the looks coming from the rendering this is to be the most aggressive of the trio, thanks also to the enticing forward facing radar arch.  For its layout both above and below deck the 305 Open will base itself on the layout as featured of the fall 2014 launched 305 HTC.  The main deck layout remains one of the most interesting in this size thanks to a sun-pad aft, C-shaped settee, helmsman chair to starboard, and entrance corridor, wet-bar, and a sun lounge to port side.  Below will be a four berths layout with a classic two plus two configuration presented in a U-shaped dinette forward which converts to a double berth, and double bed cabin at midships. In between the cabins is a galley to port-side, with opposite to this being a shower head.

New Model: Sunseeker 57 Predator

A waited model from Sunseeker, the 57 Predator will be the entry level of the renowned range which today starts with the 53.  The 57 Predator indeed shares hull shape albeit a bit extended with the previous 52 and the replacing 53, but contrary to the previous models features a totally new upper structure different from the Manhattan range. This is a striking difference since the 52 and 53 Predator did always appear to be a bit structure heavy versus the sleekness associated with the range. For this reason alone the 57 Predator will feature a smaller interior portion of main deck, with the plus of a larger exterior area aft. The 57 Predator will also be offered just like the 60 model with two main deck options, enclosed hard top with patio door, or fully open hard top for the Summer cruisers. Lower deck accommodation will feature three double cabins; this including an owners full beam stateroom, VIP suite forward, and a double bunk berth guest cabin to starboard.  A C-shape galley is located to port side below deck in between cabins, with an option crew cabin aft with separate entrance.  The 57 Predator also features two tender spaces, bathing platform and a garage aft.  Power are twin Volvo 800hp on shafts, with IPS propulsion being a possible alternative option.

New Model: Sea Ray L650

Sea Ray continue to expand its ever important L for Luxury fifty plus feet line, with the addition of more models. This new L650 also dubbed as the Express version will be the non flybridge sister of the impressive Fly model launched in the first part of 2014. Basically as the photo above says this is more sports looking hard top option for L650, with its main selling point being a hard top, which opens the main deck to sunshine and natural light from the skies. It will be interesting how the market reacts to this model, considering that after the four double cabins below with no bunks, the second feature which stands out in the L650 Fly was also its massive fly-bridge deck.

Best of 2014

The Show Boats order books always displays the market vision of super yacht 24 meters plus in size industry.  Even though the top three positions have not changed, with the Italian dominance continuing unchallenged in the sub fifty meter sizes, with these now also pushing into the bigger sizes of fifty meters plus and over one hundred meters.  The World has currently 734 yachts under construction, one less then 2014, but sizes are increasing. Sales have increased in 79 to 89 feet, and the over 250 feet sizes, receiving ten more orders each then in 2014.  The second increase came in the 100 to 119 feet, with the largest decrease coming at 120 to 149 feet.  United Kingdom has gained a spot thanks to the increase in size of its production brands in motor and sailing yachts. This position gain comes at the expense of the US who falls in fifth.  But in my opinion USA can regain ground over its Atlantic Ocean divided neighbour, if demand of plus eighty feet sportfish yachts continues to increase. An area which is an American specialization.

PowerYacht best of 2014 is the Viking 75 Motor Yacht. Its been thirteen years since the dominating force of sportfish yachts build a motor yacht, and nineteen since it presented a new model in the segment.  The 75 Motor Yacht changes this, challenging European elite production builders in lines and looks, with a design that one would think came from Europe's or Italy's best designer.  But no the 75 Motor Yacht is fully designed inhouse at New Jersey, with Viking giving skin deep engineering as in its Sportfish yachts.  Welcome back to Motor Yachting Viking, who made 2014 a special year by two, launching its largest ever new 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible flagship which was also short listed for this year best of list.

The others.

Absolute 58 Navetta. The always growing and moving forward Absolute present its first explorer yacht with the first Navetta range model.  A more Mediterranean explorer yacht giving liveaboard comfort and medium-distance-range.

Gamefisherman 42 Walk-Around Sportfisherman. Custom sportfish builds are mostly believed available only at fifty feet plus.  Gamefisherman from Florida is an exception to this, and the 42 Walk-Around is proving to be a custom-production success already sold in four units.

Ocean Yachts 64 Makaira. Its been six years for this modern looking sportfish yacht to make it from paper to fibreglass.  The current second large Ocean Yachts is also a first to bring a custom specialized designer enter that of a production builder.  A rare bond.

Pershing 70. Fulvio de Simoni adds buttress wings to create an updated visual to Pershing's unique design identity.  An unedited superstructure and hull design integration, from the name which pioneered integrated windshield design in 1991.

Riva 122 Mythos. The largest Riva in 172 years of history, and also the first to be build in aluminium. Called the Rolls Royce of the sea, for the beauty and elegance the wooden seven to nine meters runabouts represented.  The story moves on.

Sarnico 60 GTV. A clients custom request for a single floor aft deck gives life to the third and newest GTV version of the 2005 presented Sarnico 60.  One element marks a big change.

Sea Ray L650 Fly. The largest volume production boat name presents a new flagship and line to stop the European wave which has gained aplenty market success in North America in recent years.  The design is in line to take the competition.

Sunseeker 155 Yacht. The Poole builders aim of going larger never stopped since in 1987 it launched its at the time 47 Malibu flagship.  This new biggest ever model though takes the stakes higher as it is Sunseeker first aluminium build yacht.

Flat Floor. Steeler Panorama FF46. The Dutch are usually associated with super yachts above 100 feet, but in recent years they are emerging as a force in custom and semi-custom builds sub 24 meters.  To semi-custom Steeler adds innovation with the Panorama FF for Flat Floor designed by Vripack, which reinterprets a liveaboard with living and cabin all located on the single floor of the main deck.  It is a unique and different offer and for living aboard purposes works aplenty, adding comfort, that once aboard becomes unbelievable to think this is an explorer cruiser measuring just fourteen meters.

PowerYacht wishes to all its followers, friends, readers, and visitors a Healthy and Prosperous 2015 year.
