Project: Chris-Craft 36 Corsair

Chris Craft revise what it is at the moment there largest model the 36 Corsair, although a bigger 45 feet flagship was announced a few years back by the known long standing US boat builder.  The new 36 Corsair will be offered in two versions; the Open Edition as pictured above, and European Edition.  These versions are different for the layout of the aft deck, the Open offering two L-shaped settees with central entrance patio door, and the European a walk over sunpad.  The Open being obviously the most practical and the European more sexy. But the European version does also feature a C-shaped settee front of the sunpad, to make lounging easy.  Inside the 36 Corsair will also offer some layout choice plans in the four berth area, and in the V-shaped convertible dinette also offered in a fixed double berth replacement option.  A second separate good spaced twin berth cabin is located to midships.  The 36 Corsair also features a spacious shower head located to starboard opposite the galley. Engines have not yet been announced for the new 36 Corsair but expect these to be similar as the previous version, and I hope they do feature more diesel engine options instead of the only twin Volvo D6 choice.

Project: Ranger Tugs R-31

Fluid Motion the designers and builders of the popular line of Ranger Tugs introduce the newest project model in the fleet, the new R-31. The new R-31 will debut this month at the Seattle Boat Show being held at the last week of January, with hull number 2 to make the East Coast more international presentation at the Miami International Boat Show in February.  Over one year of design making, the Ranger Tugs R-31 shares many features and qualities to her smaller sisters but notable additions to this new larger flagship model as the size suggest will make her ideal for extended cruising while still being a trailerable trawler. The R-31 is the first Ranger Tug to feature a flybridge equipped with electronic controls at both the upper and lower helm. The flybridge also retracts to allow for trailering the 31'. The builders at Ranger Tugs also equipped the foredeck with seating and a table that can be raised or lowered depending on whether the boat is under way or at anchor or dock for entertaining. In addition to the extra seating now available on the flybridge and foredeck the 31 allows for a larger cockpit area with wraparound seating and extra seating that folds out of the gunwale. When not entertaining, seats are folded leaving the cockpit unencumbered. The interior layout of the R-31 features two staterooms; one large island berth forward with en suite head and a midships berth and day head. Those who are familiar with Ranger Tugs models will recognize the galley layout and lower helm station that maximize interior space. A starboard side door provides easy access from the lower helm to the side decks so crew can get to the bow for line handling.  Like all Ranger Tugs, the new R31 comes essentially turnkey with standard features and equipment intended to make her owner's experience hassle-free and allow for ease of handling and comfort under way. Standard equipment includes bow and stern thrusters, an optional aft steering station and a Volvo 300hp engine that achieves a 16 knot cruise speed.
