Project: Ferretti 690

Ferretti Yachts presents the project of the 690, a replacement model of the 660 set to launch by the middle of 2012.  As in the latest models launched by Ferretti the 690 project sees again designer Zuccon and the Ferretti AYT take an aggressive sports line for a flybridge motor yacht, with unusual window patterns, and a  innovative radar satellite placement area.  This last makes maximum use of all the flybridge for entertainment purposes. The 690 will follow the Ferretti 620 in the stern design too, which is clean and left uncluttered thanks to a hidden crane davit, and an invisible passarelle strictly used for passengers.  Down below is a choice for two layouts with three or four double cabins.  All interior finishing is in grey oak.  The main deck saloon is a single level area with the astern galley, C-shaped sofa, and dining area, and helm to port side.  The astern galley which was presented on the 630 is now here being used in its maximum size.  In the three cabin area  there is a change in the stairs which lead from the main deck, and the space is won over by a lobby, and a separate shower room for the VIP suite.  Power is from twin MAN 1000 or optional 1200hp with top speeds being of 31 knots with the large engine option.

Project: Bayliss 84 B16

Founded in 2002 custom sportfish boat builder Bayliss is at the moment building its largest ever construction with the 84 feet B16, to be named by her owner Orion.  Work for this new project, which is again a design collaboration with Robert Ullberg started in April 2011. Orion shares the hull shape featuring identical draft and beam with the four feet smaller B15 currently also in construction and scheduled for launch in 2012. Construction is in cold molded way of wood, epoxy and glass fiber in the more modern jig method. The specifications of B16 will include many firsts custom features for Bayliss, from a five stateroom with five head layout, full beam owners cabin, and a navy blue colored hull. The owners stateroom will also feature a six feet walk in closet, office desk, L‐shaped sofa, and king sized double berth.  The aft deck layout will be a modern mezzanine style with fish box, fridge, freezer, and drink box, while the flybridge is the much appreciated open center console style having a wrap around seat and dining table to fore. Project: Rodman 42 Spirit Flybridge

After presenting the Rodman Spirit range with the 31 a year ago, the Spanish builder shows up the second model of the range with the 42 Spirit Flybridge project.  The Spirit is a design from Italian designer Fulvio De Simoni, who with the 42 followed what was shown in the 31 of a hybrid modern classic looks, but in larger sizes and adding a flybridge on top. This is De Simoni second collaboration with Rodman, having created so far all the four models of the 2006 presented more luxury modern looking Muse range for them. The interior of the Rodman 42 Spirit Flybridge offers a two cabins with two shower heads, one of which en suite for the owners room to fore, and a saloon living on the main deck.  The C-shaped galley is located below, by the three steps stairs which lead from the main deck.  Power is from twin Volvo 300hp with IPS pods propulsion which give a top speed of 30 knots and a cruise of 26.

New Model: Sunseeker 53 Manhattan

Sunseeker presented the new 53 Manhattan in Cannes.  This new model is an evolution of the 52 Manhattan with larger windows on the main deck, and the full beam owners suite and a modified interior, exterior plan. The hull has also been changed in order to increase volumes inside. The modification in the interior effect all areas; the third guest cabin now is not a bunk but features two in line berths, and the VIP suite to fore also feels roomier thanks to extra height.  The owners stateroom is also now a full headroom all around, again thanks to better use of height in this model.  A crew cabin is available aft.  An option is also available for the aft with a small sun pad and C-shaped settee being standard, or a large sunbed taking full space here.  The flybridge is also roomier and features a large C-shape dinette to aft, wet bar and sun lounger to port, and a two person seat helm station.  Power is from twin diesel engines up to 800hp, which give top speeds up to 31 knots.

Project: Airon Marine 4500 T-Top

Airon Marine from Lake Come in Italy, presents the project of the new 4500 T-Top, what I imagine to be a replacement model of the successful 4300 T-Top, first of the hard top series from the North Italian builder.  So far Airon has provided this exterior rendering which features a very family feeling to the other bigger or smaller boats of the Lake Como builder, with a lot of similarities to the latest launch, the 4800 T-Top flagship.  A standard internal plan of three cabins, which sleeps six below is being offered.  But an option of two large cabins sleeping four is also available.  Various different plans are also available to what concerns the main deck as is in the end the tradition from Airon Marine, who have a very custom approach in this size, but also in its builds above the 345.  Power choice available is from twin Volvo 400 or 435hp in IPS pods or stern drive choice.  But even here I will imagine more engine options and shafts to be available.

New Model: MJM 29z Downeast

MJM presents its latest new model for the coming year with the 29z Downeast.  This latest MJM uses the same hull as the Express, Outboard versions of the same model with very sleek classic looks.  A very light and strong high technology construction, and a well studied hull contribute to top of the class fuel efficiency in this style and type of Traditional Cruiser boat.  Accommodation is a well thought out layout with the 29z Downeast sleeping two in the fore cabin, which also boasts two meters of head room.  This also features a separate shower head, and a galley.  Outside in the cockpit two forward seats for the helm and co-pilot are joined by a C-shaped settee which can seat up to ten persons.  Power is from four Volvo diesel choices, from a standard 220hp, to an economic optional 170 or faster and bigger 300hp choice.  With this last choice top speed is 40 knots with an economic cruise of 25 giving 3nm for 3.7 liters of fuel.
