Project: Azimut Magellano 66

With the recent debut of the 25Metri, followed by the announcement of the arrival of the 30Metri, the Magellano collection is enjoying a moment in the spotlight. They say good things come in threes, and indeed, the first unit of the new Magellano 66 will touch the water in Spring, and happily, that is just around the corner.  Like its bigger siblings, the new Magellano 66 manages to combine timelessness with modernity, and belongs to the carbon tech generation, but just what is it that makes this Navetta so special? If we had to choose just one element, it would most definitely be the internal layout, which, thanks to the boat’s generous dimensions, offers an extraordinary level of comfort and versatility.  The spacious day zone is designed to optimise onboard living, distributed over a single level, with vast windows creating an airy, light-filled environment.  Owners wanting to clearly delineate crew and guest areas can do so, no mean feat in a 66-footer. A sliding door separates the pilot station and galley from the salon, while access from the Main Deck to owner and guest accommodation is via a decentralised stairway, ensuring total independence and privacy.  On the lower deck, in addition to the owner’s suite and two guest cabins, there is a fourth cabin which can be fitted out as a storage area or with bunk beds.  Outside, there is also no shortage of space, and there is no better example of this than the impressively large flybridge, with a stern lounge area that can also incorporate an American bar.  Versatility is again to the fore with the cockpit, where the dining zone can be transformed into a spacious relaxation zone where the owner and guests can stretch out in the shade, just a few tantalising metres above the water.  The second-generation Dual Mode hulls delivers smooth cruising even in moderate seas, and outstanding stability whether you’re in displacement mode or steaming along at the maximum speed of 23 knots.  The Magellano 66 is powered by a pair of Man 850hp engines, is EC category class A and comes with an HTS declaration, attesting that it was designed to and meets rigorous High Technical Standards.

Project: Azimut 53 Fly

Azimut announced the 53, a sixteen meter motor yacht which will be the second smallest offer in its popular top selling Flybridge Collection.  The 53 Fly was presented during Azimut's annual press conference at what is usually the start of the fall boat show season.  The Azimut 53 Flybridge sees Alberto Mancini enter into the smaller sizes of Azimut range, after designing the 78 Flybridge, S8, and Grande S10.  For the Azimut 53 the Italian designer will follow somewhat similar lines to that of the 78 model, in a racy sporty profile which the builder says hide the real volumes of this sixteen meter flybridge motor yacht.  Azimut has in the past presented racy looking flybridge motor yachts from the popular 98/100 Leonardo, to the 62/64 models. The details of the 53 are still mostly under wraps, but thanks to the series of videos which launched with part one on November 27 we do know that it will have an astern galley layout.  Power and propulsion details are still unknown, though considering that the 78 is with IPS pod drives I would not be surprised to see the switch in this model and then a revamp in all the flybridge series up to the 78.

New Model: Azimut Magellano 25 Metri

Azimut launches the new Magellano 25 Metri, which after eleven years enters the modern explorer line from the famous Italian yacht builder into super yacht territory, and for a period will be the lines flagship.  Time runs and it seems like a short one from 2009 that Azimut launched the first Magellano 74, which was followed by smaller models, and then an upgraded and improved 76 in 2012, which for over seven years was the line flagship.  For many it seemed, Azimut never had interest into putting the Magellano into the above 24 meter super yacht size, in the end most yachts above this size always have an important range and live aboard commodities.  Then in Spring 2018 Azimut announced this Magellano 25 Metri project, which also introduces the range into a raised pilot house design, in order to extend further living commodities on the main deck.  Designed by Ken Freivokh the Magellano 25 Metri has a classic Italian flair outside, bringing the past into the future for looks alone with some exquisite live-aboard comfort details inside.  With four double guest cabins layout located all at the lower deck, the Magellano 25 Metri is all about maximum comfort onboard for long periods.  For this one can see the larger then usual cabins, full living and dining main deck, and spacious home size galley located forward to starboard side.  The Magellano 25 Metri also brings the carbon tech technology into the explorer range with the flybridge, garage, and hard-top all being laminated in this method which Azimut introduced in the 55S in 2012.  Powered by twin Man 1400hp or optional 1550hp engines, the Magellano 25 Metri reaches speeds up to 25 knots and can fast cruise up to 22 knots.  Engineered for maximum comfort and commodities the Magellano 25 Metri also features latest sound insulation systems, the BCool system which exchanges and sanitises the air flow, and a Hotel Mode which enables full onboard facilities use for up to eight hours without the use of a generator.

New Model: Azimut Grande S10

When announced as a project in early 2018, the Azimut S10 signaled the entrance of Alberto Mancini in the famous Italian yacht builder stable.  Since then Mancini has already designed two other models for Azimut, the slightly smaller S8, and the 78 Flybridge.  The Grande S10 is the new flagship of Azimut S for sport yacht series which since presented in 2003 with the S68 has revolutionized these type of yachts.  Offering a four double cabins layout with two VIP staterooms, one forward and one to starboard, the Azimut Grande S10, presents itself as a super sport yacht with an edge in comfort.  The living dining on the S10 is all located on the main deck, while the galley and crew quarters and lobby are at midships in between the engine room and the midships owners stateroom.  The standard version of crew accommodation offers two cabins sleeping three including a double berth for the cabin, but here you have an option to add a fourth cabin to starboard side.  The Grande S10 also features a sport bridge with a central ladder entrance, the layout of the bridge is very socializing and offers three area points, a C-shaped lounge with two coffee cocktail tables to starboard, a forward sunpad, an L-shaped settee, and helm station to port side.  The Azimut Grande S10 is also full of latest tech from heavy carbon use in all super structure and bathing platform, glass cockpit helm station, intelligent LED lightning trough out, Electroglass Chromis skylight hard-top, and Humphree active trim control.  The Azimut Grande S10 is powered by twin MTU 2600hp which allow for top speeds up to 35 knots.

Project: Azimut S6 Sportfly

For the Dusseldorf boat show 2020 Azimut will present the new S6 Sportfly, an innovative version of the successful S6 which featured in the famous New York Times Square installation last spring 2019. The main novelty in this version is the addition of a flydeck to offer a spacious and comfortable extra lounge area on the pilot house roof. Access to the fly-deck is provided by folding, hideaway stairs. A specially designed cabinet in the cockpit is integrated with the stairway to enhance the perception of space on the flydeck still further.  The Azimut S6 offers a three double cabins layout with a full beam owners cabins, with a crew cabin berth located forward.  Living, galley and dining area are all on the main deck and integrate seamlessly with the aft deck.  The Azimut S6 is powered by triple Volvo 550hp engines with IPS forward looking dual propeller pod drive propulsion allowing for top speeds up to 35 knots.

New Model: Azimut 78 Flybridge

Presented as a project as an Azimut 76 during the Cannes 2018 boat show, the Azimut 78 Flybridge, had a hype launch due to a few firsts.  The new Azimut 78 Flybridge is the first to feature a triple Volvo IPS power installation as introduced for the S range with the 55S in 2012, and is number one in the Flybridge range to feature the Alberto Mancini exterior treatment.  The flybridge motor cruiser and motor yacht from twelve to thirty meters is a segment which the Italian boat builder has been leader for well over three decades, not only in sale numbers with some models selling hundreds of units, but also in design and layout innovation. Azimut has since the nineties re-modeled the flybridge boat in design features and layout.  The Azimut 78 Flybridge of the Mancini era brings with it a sporty profile outside, with the inside featuring a four double cabins layout, with the traditional midships owners stateroom at midships, VIP suite forward, and two guest cabins in between.  The Azimut 78 Flybridge thinks different in the size with the way the crew quarters with two cabins located forward is connected to the galley on the port side of the helm station on the main deck.  This is unseen in this size with most 22 to 25 meters motor yachts having crew cabins aft, while with the Azimut 78 Flybridge layout this has a seamless connection to the crew quarters which in galley management duty does not disturb guests.  The Azimut 78 Flybridge is offered in two main deck layouts choices of lounge and dining, with the distinctive feature of having a lounge table in the central part of the main deck or a dining table for eight.  The Azimut 78 Flybridge is powered by triple Volvo 900hp as standard with optional 1000hp engines with IPS pod propulsion.  Speeds are up to 33 knots with the optional large engines, and 31 knots with the standard power.

New Model: Azimut S8

2019 is an important year for Azimut as for the famous Italian marquee this represented an evolutionary process, with new head designer Alberto Mancini taking over design duties from the since 1992 Stefano Righini.  The Mancini Azimut revolution started at a fast pace presenting three new models at Cannes boat show; the Grande S10, 78 Flybridge, and the S8 announced only one week prior to the important South of France festival.  The S8 brings Mancini design sophistication, adding a new ingredient to the clean Azimut Righini lines.  With the Azimut S8 Mancini emphasizes the Italian straight horizon lines with fat bulwarks giving a distinctive fore to aft flow.  Interior the Azimut S8 continues the collaboration with Francesco Guida who mixes white, and grey colors as his usual in a unique modern style.  Accommodation the Azimut S8 offers four double guest cabins all with private en-suite shower heads.  A crew area with two cabins and a shower head is located midships in between the engine room and the owners stateroom.  The Azimut S8 is powered by triple Volvo 1000hp engines, with IPS pod propulsion.  This is the sixth Azimut to go the triple Volvo IPS propulsion route after the 55S launched with this set up paved the way from 2012 onwards.

Project: Azimut Grande 38 m Trideck

During the 2019 Cannes boat show Azimut was in high spirits showing its new course by architect Alberto Mancini in three new models, and with this presenting the way forward for the World famous Italian name following the successes of seventeen years of the now retired Stefano Righini.  The next way for Mancini is that for an Azimut Grande Trideck to measure 38 meters in length.  This will be the largest Azimut ever build superseding the 120 SL as produced from 2012 till 2016.  Though to be fair the company did in the past had projects for a 125 and 140 models which eventually evolved into the Benetti Fast Line.  The Azimut Grande Trideck will feature three decks offering a five double guest cabins accommodation layout, with owners cabin on the forward part of the main deck.  Crew space will be for seven crew in four cabins, including a captain cabin in the top deck behind the pilothouse.  The Azimut Grande Trideck is offered with twin MTU 2400hp or 2600hp engines which with the larger engines deliver top speeds up to 24 knots.

Project: Azimut S8

The Alberto Mancini era in Azimut continues moving at a very fast pace, and here comes the S8 as a surprise project announced less to a week just before the Cannes boat show.  But this is not a project for 2020, the S8 will make its debut in the upcoming Cannes boat show, joining the other 2020 novelties; S10, Azimut 78 and Atlantis 45.  Brimming with charm, the S8 adopts the new style codes expressed by Mancini for the S sport yacht and super sport yacht collection, in which he interprets drive, modernity and sportiness in their most sophisticated and intriguing sense.  The S8 replaces the successful 77S launched in 2014, and features as latest Azimut model the exclusive combination of carbon tech with a triple Volvo IPS pod propulsion system, making her a sporty yacht equipped with leading-edge technology.  The extensive use of carbon; for flybridge, deck and platform, and the triple installation IPS propulsion system; optimized with a significant investment of resources and effort by Azimut Yachts Innovation Lab, bring with them a long series of undeniable benefits that make this model unique in the panorama of Sport Yachts, something which is the blue print of all the S range excluding the new thirty meter S10 flagship.  S8 stands out first and foremost for her unprecedented maneuverability, silence and significantly lower consumption than similar size super sport yachts. With a more compact engine room, the Azimut S8 layout is one of a kind: not only does the night area accommodate four cabins and four bathrooms, but there is also a big garage with room for two water toys; a standout feature for a super sport yacht of the size,  and a closed galley on an intermediate deck between the main and lower decks. This means that the main deck is dedicated entirely to indoor and outdoor lounge and dining areas. On this deck, designed for socializing, the same design approach has been used for both interiors and exteriors, resulting in a seamless sense of continuity.  The perfection of the layout is completed by crew quarters consisting of two cabins with access through a side door aft of the superstructure.  The interiors by Francesco Guida are available in two decor versions: Platinum and Black Pearl. Both welcoming and sophisticated, they stand out for the colors and materials used. The Black Pearl version will be the one presented at Cannes.  At technical level, many of the solutions proposed by the ECS Enhanced Cruising Solutions program have been used: active trim control, which automatically adjusts the yacht’s trim and ensures the best possible consumption efficiency; joystick driving, which maintains the course set at all speeds, guarantees comfortable, safe driving with perfect control, and provides an intuitive, user-friendly interface; and, finally, an integrated on-board control and monitoring system, which also includes an interface system with the main services, including air conditioning in the yacht’s various settings.  The Azimut S8 will be be powered by triple Volvo 1000hp with IPS pods propulsion and will reach top speeds up to 34 knots, and cruise effortless at 27 knots.

Project: Azimut 78 Flybridge

Announced as a 76 in early 2019, now Azimut renames this project set to launch in the coming Summer of 2019 as the 78 Flybridge.  Along with the news of change in model name Azimut provided more solid information for the first flybridge Azimut coming from the design studio of Alberto Mancini, and the first to be powered by IPS pod drives.  As all recent Azimut the 78 Flybridge has interiors by Achille Salvagni, who has brought an edge of unique detail in all the latest models featuring his unique trademark touch.  The 78 Flybridge also follows the carbon-tech concept embraced by Azimut in most of the recent models, with the super structure, hard top, flybridge and cockpit being made of this material, while the hull deck is of a hybrid fiberglass carbon-fiber matrix.  As for power the Azimut 78 Flybridge will feature a triple engine set up of Volvo 900hp or optional 1000hp engines, which will allow for top speeds up to thirty knots.

New Model: Azimut Atlantis 45

During the recent Versilia Viareggio boat show, Azimut launched the new Atlantis 45, one of the first and the smallest of a trio of new models set to launch in 2019 by the famous Italian name.  The Azimut Atlantis 45 will replace the 43 model which has had great success in its four year production run selling over 140 units.   For the new Atlantis 45 the Neo Design team follows design cues from the 2017 launched 51 model.  We see the vertical stem and full stretching hull side windows.  Technical wise the Azimut Atlantis 45 will also feature the IPS pod drives as propulsion, and will also be a heavier displacement sport cruiser, two tons more then the outgoing 43 model.  This is a fourteen meter sport cruiser which wants to feel big in its size, which is never a bad thing especially if you want to cruise.

Project: Azimut Atlantis 45

Azimut present the Atlantis 45 project, a successor to the successful Atlantis 43, a model of enormous success with a proven sales record that surpassed every expectation, selling over 140 units in four years. The new Atlantis 45 will differ from the 43 firstly for the user-friendly Volvo IPS pod propulsion system.  The Neo Design team who has designed all Atlantis models since 2011 for this 45 carries the stylistic accents introduced by its two meter bigger sister, the 2017 introduced Atlantis 51.  The stem of the 45 just as the 51 verticals towards the deck in order to maintain a slight forward momentum, bringing the energetic dynamism expected from a sports cruiser. The hull windows run from stern to bow along the yacht’s hull in a distinctive blade shape, highlighting again the lean lines and the sporty soul of the sport cruiser. The Azimut Atlantis 45 will feature two cabins: an owner’s cabin, and another at amidship, with two beds which can be combined to create a double berth, and to which even a third can be added. The cabins within the yacht are both ample and welcoming, thanks to a beam of over four meters meters. At the stern, a garage can hold a tender of up to 2.5 meters in length.

Project: Azimut 76 Fly

The Mancini era at Azimut enters its phase and after the S10 project announced in 2018, here is the second episode the new 76 Fly.  But do not be mistaken there is a lot of innovation in the new Azimut 76 Fly not only from the change of guard for the exterior design, but also for the propulsion innovation which for the first time goes into a triple IPS configuration as has been used in the second generation S series by Azimut.  The Azimut 76 Fly will feature interiors designed by Achille Salvagni and the first unit currently under construction will be in the Lounge version, which will offer according to Azimut a unique connection between lounging and dining areas.

New Model: Azimut Grande 25 Metri

After having so much success with the Grande 27 Metri, Azimut goes a step smaller and presents the new Grande 25 Metri.  A super yacht designed by since the early nineties standing Azimut designer Stefano Righini that offers an interesting mix of sporty lines to that of a full flybridge.  This is not something new from Azimut, as the World famous boat builder has in the past offered similar machines, as the success which was the 98 Leonardo or the 68 Plus before it.  The Azimut Grande 25 Metri also presents some cool new design features as a more pronounced bow knee which reminds of the Americas Cup sailing yachts as introduced by New Zealand in year 2000, and then used up to 2007 in all the AC class.  For those that do not know that knee in those boats help add waterline up wind and at the same time increased speed and reduce the angle to the wind.  It is obvious that the Azimut bow knee is just there for aesthetic reasons since this is a motor yacht with two big engines in the engine room, to be exact twin Man 1650hp as standard or optional 1800hp units.

New Model: Azimut Grande 32 Metri

Azimut and Righini rewrite the style book again with the new Grande 32 Metri surprising for its fluent sport looks, even though this is a 32 meter two deck and half super yacht.  Influenced not little by the smaller and successful 27 Metri in looks, the new Grande 32 Metri follows its sporty exterior looks with a spacious interior, offering five spacious cabins including an owners stateroom on the forward full body main deck.  The Grande 32 Metri is also full of innovation with extensive use of carbon fiber being used for the upper structure of the yacht, aiming to reduce weight up top and keep center of gravity low.  The Grande 32 Metri also features Azimut Displacement to Planning hull shape by Pierluigi Ausonio which offers two high efficiency cruising speeds, a fast cruise at 21 knots and a long range economic cruise at 12 knots.  The Azimut Grande 32 Metri is powered by twin MTU 2200hp engines which give top speeds up to 27 knots and a fast cruise up to 21 knots.

Project: Azimut Grande 32 Metri

Avant-garde is the keyword that unlocks the meaning of the Grande 32 Metri project, which offers yet another demonstration of Azimut design creativity and will make its world debut at the Cannes boat show in early September 2018. The main aim of all avant-garde movements is to stand out from classical art. This same mission, interpreted as the desire to express an innovative vision that breaks away from the past, underpins the new Azimut Grande 32 Metri, with exteriors by Stefano Righini and interiors by Achille Salvagni. The Azimut Grande 32 Metri is forward thinking in every sense, not least because of the multiple unprecedented solutions that establish its right to a prominent position in the world of super yachts, or the advanced naval platform that is packed with technology and combines Carbon Tech with a D2P hull or, finally, the pure design excellence that characterizes Salvagni’s outstandingly distinctive work.  Stefano Righini has crafted powerful exterior lines, with stylistic features that sweep towards the stern and trick the eye in a way that hides the important interior volumes offered by the boat. The spacious stern beach club, the lateral garage that can house a five meter tender and a three meter jet ski, the huge full-height glazed surfaces on both sides of the full-beam owner’s suite, and the personality-building vertical bow are the distinctive features Righini has given to the Grande 32 Metri, making it absolutely unique in its category. Inside, the sense of sophisticated softness continues to permeate the constituent features, maintaining a family feeling with the other two Grande units designed by Salvagni the 27 and the 35 metri. His approach continues to eschew pure decoration and focuses instead on spatial composition: fluid surfaces detach from the walls to form an independent system, using spatial elements that flow seamlessly while nevertheless establishing distinct volumes. The settings are at one and the same time welcoming, simple and sophisticated, playing on the harmonious balance of detail and function. The walls embrace and expand, like a succession of negatives and positives that fix and extend space. Polished dark wood surfaces alternate with extensive areas and sections of ceiling featuring light-colored wood varieties: everything is in the contrast.  The night zone consists of five double cabins. The large owner’s cabin on the main deck is flooded with natural light, while the other four cabins are on the lower deck, two with twin beds and two with doubles.  The entire superstructure is built using Carbon Tech and epoxy resin: the combined effect of these materials and the Displacement2Planning hull with double-chine with a wave-piercing bow delivers maximum consumption efficiency levels at both slow cruising speed and higher speeds, extending the yacht’s range.  The Azimut Grande 32 Metri will be powered by twin 2200hp MTU units driving the yacht to a top speed of 26 knots.

New Model: Azimut S6

During Azimut most expected event of the year the Yachting Gala, which for 2018 was held in the suggestive location of Monopoli in the South Italy region of Puglia, the famous yacht builder presented its new latest model the S6.  The Azimut S6 is based on the 55S, see identical beam but a longer hull by seventy centimeters, which allows for bigger triple Volvo 550hp engines versus the 435hp units of the 55, and a more spacious aft deck.  The Azimut 55S introduced in 2012 was the fore bearer of the second generation S series and one of the best sellers of the Italian boat builder in the last five years, with an impressive demand also in brokerage.  The S6 is recognizable thanks to a different window design featuring latest elements as introduced by Stefano Righini and the Italian boat builder newer models.  So far complete specifications and layout are not to be found so we cannot say if there is more difference then the details mentioned.  At this stage it seems that the Azimut S6 and the 55S will co-exist, which is understandable considering the success the later has enjoyed.

Project: Azimut Grande 25 Metri

Set to launch in September 2018 at the Cannes boat show Azimut presents the project of the Grande 25 Metri, new entry level of the big super yacht range of the famous Italian motor boats builder, which with this model starts today at 25 meters in length.  The Azimut Grande 25 Metri should also be a replacement for the 80 which was launched in Summer 2013.  Designed by the usual since early nineties Azimut designer Stefano Righini, the Grande 25 Metri presents itself as a streamlined super yacht that seems sculpted in wind, with ample space for life in the open air, to keep the connection with the sea alive. As most of the latest Azimut models the 25 Metri is to be built what the Italian builder calls Carbon Tech, meaning for a super structure, roll bar, hard-top and transom build of the light and strong carbon fiber technology.  The Grande 25 Metri is created for owners who likes a sporty looking flybrdge super yacht, something which is definitely not new from Azimut with models as the 68 Plus and 98 Leonard clearly being the first inspiration for the Italian builder and Righini in the end nineties and early parts of the new second millennium for this design direction. The interior design of the Grande 25 Metri is by Achille Salvagni who presents an unprecedented mix of the elegant and the casual, large volumes, a garage for the tender and a totally separate crew circuit to offer the owner maximum privacy, without affecting the boat’s contours, which seem light, sleek and almost sensual. Another surprising aspect in the interior design, which gives an original twist to the living area: with the typical separation of sofa and dining areas making way for one big refined setting, decorated with great care and personality. So, when no one is dining inside, there’s much more space to enjoy in two comfy living areas. If needed, the table in front of the sofa can be raised to become a spacious dining table for eight. Still the Grande 25 Metri shows flexibility and for those who prefer their spaces laid out in a more traditional way another version based on the classical approach is also available. Achille Salvagni also accents the desire for informality by introducing lacquered surfaces in colors ranging from purple to sugar paper, skillfully weighed to establish new tenets of class and refinement, in a continuously developing style that never opts for the obvious.  The galley and helm station can be separated from the other settings by sliding doors and switchable frosted glass panels, allowing the crew to get on with their business without interfering with the lives of the owner and guests.  The four cabins are in the lower Deck and three of them have double beds, while the crew has a cabin for the captain, a second cabin with bunk beds, and a crew mess that can be accessed from a stairway aft of the superstructure.  The Azimut Grande 25 Metri is powered by a twin standard Man engines of 1650hp and or optional 1800hp units.

Project: Azimut Grande Magellano 25 metri

So this is some interesting news for Azimut Magellano line who has been a game changer for the Italian boat builder and nautical industry alike, and with this 25 metri project enters super yacht 24 meters plus territory and also becomes part of the Grande collection, which currently features three models from 27 to 35 meters.  The first Magellano 74 launched in 2010 was a game changer to the boating industry introducing what is called today the modern Mediterranean explorer yacht to the World.  So far Azimut for the 25 metri Magellano has only gave this rendering showing the main deck saloon and next to nothing technical details.  What we know is that Vincenzo de Cotiis from Milan will be taking care of the interior.  This will be Vincenzo de Cotiis first yacht having made twenty years of career designing boutique, hotels, private homes, and restaurants.
