New Model: Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition

Presented in the fall of 2022, the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition comes as a replacement to the 4800 after five years in production.  Even though called the 4600 she is in reality a bit longer and wider to the outgoing model.  The new 4600 Sport Yacht comes straight out with the luxurious refinement of the Platinum Edition, a feature Rivera introduced in 2019 for the Sport Yacht range which today features three models.  The 4600 Sport Yacht welcomes you aboard the generous hydraulic swim platform, which is followed by a garage, designed to store a range of water sports equipment under the cockpit and can be accessed through an electrically operated door.  A new entertainer's cockpit has been created with a wrap-around lounge across the transom and port side with a timber dining table, and a wet-bar with barbecue located to starboard.  The airy saloon flows to the cockpit through a sliding glass door and awning window. A fully equipped U-shape galley is located on the port side of the saloon space, immediately aft of the helm. A servery and bar unit are opposite. The plush dining space is forward on the starboard side, featuring a large timber table surrounded by a luxurious U-shape lounge that will seat up to six people.  The Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht provides three staterooms and two bathrooms on the light-filled accommodation deck including a full-beam master amidships featuring full head height, a central king size bed and large hull windows that fill the space with natural light.  A two cabin version is also available, replacing the bunk third cabins with a L-shaped lounging sofa.  The Rivera 4600 Sport Yacht is powered by twin Volvo 600hp, with IPS pod drives.  At launch she was offered with the smaller 480hp Volvos and IPS combo but Riviera has since then removed these engines as standard, and with the dry weight of nineteen tons this was a correct call.

Project: Riviera 645 SUV

Australia’s largest luxury motor yacht builder, Riviera, has just announced an innovative new yacht, the 645 SUV. Riviera pioneered the SUV concept in 2012 and has since continually refined this design that brings together a single-level sports yacht entertainer with the blue water pedigree and cockpit of a flybridge yacht. The 645 will have her world premiere in April 2021 and will be the largest SUV built to date, surpassing the current 575 as the flagship of this six-model collection ranging from 39 to 64 feet. She offers longer-range offshore cruising, extensive accommodation, premium comfort and luxury, while enhancing the superb indoor/outdoor lifestyle features that make the SUV models so practical and popular. The Riviera design team in collaboration with 4D Designs have created a yacht that offers the choice of three or four staterooms, three bathrooms and a utility, crew or additional accommodation aft. In addition, there is a superb alfresco deck dining and gourmet galley with island bench, a side saloon door leading to generous walk-around side decks, and a foredeck that is a separate, lavish entertainment hub. Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst says the decision to introduce the 645 SUV came after requests from current Riviera owners and the global dealer network, resulting in a number of off-the-plan orders being received. A choice of Twin Man 1300hp or optional 1550hp diesels have been selected by the Riviera engineers for the 645 SUV power options that offer exceptional power-to-weight performance. With the 1550’s, cruise speed will be around 30 knots and wide-open throttle around 34 knots. All Riviera MAN powered yachts come with a 5-year engines limited warranty, further supported by Riviera’s 7-year structural and 2-year express limited warranties. The first unit of the 645 SUV will be sold to a Melbourne resident owner, who with his new boat will be on his seventh Riviera. Hull one will be powered by the smaller 1300hp engines.

There is simply no better place to relax, enjoy a meal, take in the view or all the cockpit action.  Convenient access to the engine room is via a large hatch in the alfresco floor with a stainless-steel ladder beneath.  Joining the alfresco deck with the galley and saloon are a tinted glass sliding door and servery window set in a superior stainless-steel frame. A gourmet galley resides immediately to port, while the internal staircase to starboard, incorporating beneath a large freezer, liquor cabinet and glass storage.  As one of five luxury living zones, the saloon also offers two opposing lounge areas that can seat six to eight guests in total comfort.  4D Designs, in collaboration with the Riviera design team, has also excelled with the accommodation plan with a full-beam master suite bathed in natural light from large hull windows, a queen-sized island berth, chaise lounge, walk-in robe and ensuite. Guests are afforded a VIP stateroom with ensuite/day head forward and twin bunk cabin, all in exceptional luxury.  The three-sided enclosed flybridge offers superb all-round visibility and indulges its occupants in complete comfort. There is a supremely comfortable lounge opposite the main helm to starboard, perfect to stretch out, relax and chat to the skipper whilst underway. Among the key sports motor yacht design elements are a fore-deck that transforms from tender storage to sun-lounge, a sports cockpit, an all-weather mezzanine seating area that affords alfresco dining and entertainment, a stately three-sided glass-enclosed flybridge, and a full-beam master stateroom as centrepiece of a three-stateroom, twin-bathroom accommodation plan, all in a hull measuring just over fifteen metres in length. The exterior of the 50 Sports Motor Yacht is all about the harmonious marriage of the handsomely sweeping superstructure, unmistakably Riviera in its profile, with a sporty, large-volume hull form. The Riviera 50 Sports Motor Yacht can be powered from twin Volvo 700hp with IPS pod drive propulsion, or Man 800hp with a V-drive line shaft set up. Both engines should deliver top speeds of over 30 knots.

She will also boast equally high levels of sophistication and innovation as her larger 68 and 72 sister models which are now cruising the Mediterranean, Andaman Sea, Bay of Bengal, the Malacca Strait, Java Sea, the Caribbean, the Pacific and New Zealand and Australian waters.  Versatility and practicality are evident from the moment you step aboard the Riviera 64 Sport Motor Yacht, her wide-open cockpit can be optioned for a range of different water sports.  The cockpit leads up to the mezzanine level where to port is an L-shaped day lounge and Al fresco dining will be enjoyed in the L-shaped lounge area to starboard, which includes a drop-leaf teak table.  The mezzanine can be enclosed with optional clears and serviced by air-conditioning ducts for maximum comfort in all-weather conditions considerably extending the living area and creating another room.  The outdoor dinette is the perfect entree for the aft C-shaped galley, which is immediately to starboard inside the 64’s saloon.  Plush seating is provided on the port side of the saloon, with the lounge also storing three director’s chairs to accompany the seating at the starboard-side dinette or for use in the mezzanine dining area.  A side door gives clever and convenient access to the port side deck and fore-deck from the saloon.  The accommodation deck features four staterooms and three bathrooms. The VIP stateroom forward enjoys views from large hull side windows. The VIP en-suite bathroom is located to aft to starboard.  Additional guest accommodation is provided to port with a clever twin single berth cabin that at the press of a button, the inboard berth moves sideways to create a restful double. This cabin also has en-suite access to the port-side day head bathroom. An opulent chaise lounge drinks in views from the port-side window. Owners can alternatively specify a utility room, among other options. An aft bulkhead door in this room provides internal access to the meticulously laid out engine room.  In true Riviera Sports Motor Yacht style, the 64’s fully enclosed bridge will pamper guests like a first-class lounge. It’s the perfect spot to watch the world and the nautical miles go by.  The rear bulkhead opens out to bring the outdoors inside. There’s an additional dinette and wet bar on the rear deck, plus the option of siderail-mounted joysticks. Revealing the vessel’s blue-water pedigree, a molding at the rear of the bridge can house a life raft and safety cell.  Form and functionality combine seamlessly in the superb helm station, which has twin leather seats and central helm. There is a commanding view over the 64’s foredeck, with its versatile, innovative and easily accessed socializing area comprising a C-shaped lounge area and generous floor space. A 3.6-metre tender can then reside in this space when underway, launched by a low-profile davit. This fore-deck design has been exceptionally popular on the larger Sports Motor Yachts. From a practical viewpoint, it also provides a convenient location for storage of fenders, ropes and a home for the pressure cleaner.

New Model: Riviera 4800 Sport Yacht Series II

Riviera presents the new 4800 Sport Yacht Series II, part also of the new Platinum edition for all the three Sport Yacht models. Indeed, so significant were the model refinements that Riviera has designated it a Series II, recognizable outside by the full glazing window on the hull side.  Improving on an already very popular model, however, is no easy task. The original 4800 spent twelve months in design and development to optimize the aesthetics and space utilization. The 4800 emerged from this process as a masterpiece in every sense, as intellectual as it is functional.  First of the new features is an extended swim platform with flowing curves to the outboard ends. It is the gateway to a generous garage that accommodates a 2.7-metre RIB with the help of guide rails and Muir winch.  Next on the features list is a cockpit wet bar including bench-top, refrigerator, ice-maker, sink with folding tap and double electric BBQ, serviced by an extraction fan and fold-down lid.  Twin electric individually operated opening sunroofs fill the cockpit with light and fresh air. Slide back the stainless steel-framed glass door; open out the awning window and the cockpit flows into the saloon as one unified space. Step inside and you’re then welcomed by the walnut’s warmth and drawn in by the views.  A saloon cocktail cabinet with bottle storage drawer and drawers for glass storage is another excellent addition to the vessel’s entertainment attributes. The galley is equipped for anything from a weekend to a week on the water, with the Platinum Edition featuring new solid-surface bench tops.  Further rewards are in store in the accommodation deck as floor space has been increased in the forward mater stateroom, along with a larger starboard hanging locker, three-drawer chest and 32-inch TV.  For a perfect night’s sleep, a king-size walk-around berth with innerspring mattress and storage under berth, including drawers and gas struts for easy access. The bed base is luxuriously finished in leather and fine cabinetry. A superbly appointed private bathroom completes the master suite. While hull windows either side of the bed bring in natural light and accent the outside views.  A warm and inviting second stateroom features twin-single beds to port that slide together to create a double and a further single bed to starboard. Continuous glass hull windows to both port and starboard feature opening port holes. This is a perfect stateroom for family or guests. A second bathroom forward of the guest stateroom also serves as the day head.

New Model: Riviera 545 SUV

Riviera present the new 545 SUV replacing the 525 SUV, and powered with twin Volvo 625hp and or optional 725hp.  Very similar on the outside and nearly identical on the outside and main deck configuration the new 545 difference will come inside in the lower deck with a full-beam master suite offering an exceptional amount of space and storage, king-sized walk-around bed, L-shaped lounge to starboard, bureau and large hanging wardrobe to port, plus a generous en-suite bathroom equipped with designer fittings. Being amidships, the suite enjoys optimum stability and quietness, while topside windows to both port and starboard afford unimpeded water views.  Guests or family members are pampered with an elegantly appointed forward VIP stateroom, and a starboard twin cabin with bunk berths, plus a day head with glass shower recess and stylish vanity.  The cockpit is well configured for fishing and water sports, along with outdoor entertaining. It offers fixed transom seating as well as a three person mezzanine lounge to port. A double barbecue unit resides to starboard on the mezzanine, adjacent to the saloon entry for easy access back-and-forth to the aft-placed galley and cocktail cabinet.  U-shaped and highly functional, the aft galley is a gourmet chef’s delight with a solid surface bench top, electric cook-top, convection microwave oven and an optional drawer dishwasher within handy reach of the stainless-steel sink.  The 545 SUV’s rear bulkhead opens to the cockpit via an awning window comprising tinted, tempered glass framed in polished stainless steel. Sliding windows on both sides of the saloon and two large overhead sunroofs ensure fresh air and natural light invigorate the space.  There’s an equally stunning view for the driver and passenger through the large windscreen. Riviera’s designers have placed the wheel almost on the center-line for superb vision, separating the helm’s twin pedestal seats to allow easy access.  Guests can also immerse themselves in the driving experience from the L-shaped lounge to port, just aft of the helm. It has a hi-lo dining table, while a three-seat lounge resides to starboard. The latter has a removable center seat that becomes an ottoman for additional dining seating. A fold-out table then extends the dinner party if needed. Engine technicians need never enter the yacht’s interior as engine room access is provided through a strut-assisted hatch just aft of the saloon door.
