Amer New Web Site

Amer Yachts from Sanremo Liguria region in Italy presents its new World wide web showroom. Founded by Fernando Amerio, the life of Amer yachts starts in the early sixties. In this period Fernando starts a boat service company and in 1973 this develops to the Permare Nautical Center. In 1988 Amerio makes an important step taking over the sixties founded Mediterraneo ship yard facility, located on the outskirts of San Remo yachting harbour. Amerio renews Mediterraneo completely and to it's strong facilities adds a new one hundred tons travel lift. In the nineties Permare starts to build motor yachts under contract from Antago and Raffaelli. For Raffaelli it is the AMC series of 20, 22 and 25 meter model.  Along with the Antago models Permare will build 52 units of these yachts for a total of ten models. The first Amer unit will be the 24 which was a success and is to be followed a few years later by the 86 model; designed by Profilodesign, and Andrea Bacigalupo for hull. Currently the Amer line up offers three super yacht models which start with the still in project 950, F100, and the 120 flagship, with a reported 70 Steel under construction for a European client and set for a 2026 delivery. Amer has since 2009 received 37 prizes and honours with its most important being the Nautical Pioneer handed to founder Fernando Amerio in 2012. Amer new website is available in Italian and English language and takes you around with the following buttons; About Us, New Build and Yacht Design, Refit and Repair, Used Boats, Press and Download, News and Events, and Contacts. Amer is also present in social media with button links at the bottom of the page taking you to its YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook pages.

New Model: Amer 120

Amer presents its largest build to date with the new 120 flagship, a full wide body super yacht with modern sweeping lines.  Designed by Andrea Ramasco for exterior, Stefano Tini for interior, and Massimo Verme for hull and naval architecture, the Amer 120 is conceived and build to be as ecological as possible, replacing fiberglass with easier to recycle metal and plate glass windows, cork flooring is used on the aft terrace, while in the interiors, a choice was made for natural materials, such as recycled Indonesian teak, handcrafted in Italy.. The Stefano Tini interior is filled it with brightness, the light penetrating inside from the floor to ceiling windows that characterize the living dining social area of the Amer 120 main deck, which couple with the light colours, minimal, and use of eco-leather give a neutral ambiance. The Amer 120 will offer two hot tubs one on the aft terrace of the flybridge deck which is surrounded by endless exterior living space and is covered from the elements for over half of its space by the hard-top, with a second tub located on the foredeck the second more private living exterior area.  The Amer 120 offers guest accommodation for the ten with a master master stateroom located on the forward part of the main deck, and four VIP suites all located on the central part of the hull, with the three crew cabins and lobby located forward.  The Amer 120 owners stateroom offers the perfect scenography, and features a limestone bathroom; a king size bed with a headboard characterized by sinuous movements that recall the trough of a wave, and is completed by wellness area and a walk-in closet for the wardrobe. The Amer 120 raised pilot station is full of technology, with large and transverse windows, while onboard equipment on hull number one included a unique system for the identification of cetaceans and their subsequent reporting.  Amer 120 is powered by quadruple Volvo 1000hp with IPS pod propulsion, which makes it so far the largest yacht ever built that uses the Volvo IPS pod drive power.

Project: Amer 950

Amer present the project for a new entry level 950 super yacht.  Coming from a design of Ganto studio the Amer 950 also marks Permare first fifty years of activity and ten years of IPS system installation and collaboration with Volvo. A hull that deviates from the traditional lines of Amer to favor generous internal and external spaces, following the concept of adaptability and high comfort of the wide body main deck with a suspended flybridge as introduced with the 120 flagship launched in 2021, and here repeated on a smaller scale. The Amer 950 responds to a stylistic need that favors airy and generous spaces, side and bow balconies, connected to the master on the main deck, which allow continuous ventilation of the spaces on board and views from all angles. The width of the flybridge and its versatility are an interpretation of living navigation and anchoring in the bays from a privileged point and in total privacy, giving the feeling of walking on a stage overlooking the sea. On board the Amer 950 has an integration of systems that makes it extremely simple to use: from dynamic mooring to easy connection and the setup for easy mooring. The hull has a design that foresees onboard energy efficiency and the insertion of solar panels that take advantage of the flat surfaces. The flexibility of Cantiere Permare gives space to the creativity of demanding owners to design with four or five cabins layout available. The Amer 950 was created to be powered by twin Volvo 1000hp engines with IPS pod drives, good for 26 knots max and a 24 cruise with low fuel consumption and ample autonomy.  For those who want more performance a triple 1000hp engines version is also available.

Project: Amer 120

Amer present the project for a new 120 flagship, a model which started being in the works by the Italian shipyard since 2019.  The Amer 120 is a 35 meter super yacht and is the largest build to date, extending its size by four foot from the previous 116.  The Amer 120 is a two deck and half with a full wide body main deck super yacht, designed inhouse with the interior coming from Stefano Tini.  The Amer 120 has a volume of 250 gross tonnage, and offers a guest accommodation for ten guests in five cabins, including an owners stateroom on the main deck.  The 120 continues Amer forward thinking vision of sustainability with the super yacht being build with eco friendly resins and fibres, and the use of quadruple Volvo 1000hp engines and forward looking IPS pod drives.  If I am not mistaken this is to date the largest Volvo IPS powered super yacht.

Consult ~ 28-29 meter Raised Pilot House Super Yacht 2016

INTRO
The new 28 to 29 meter Raised Pilot House Super Yacht was created by Sanlorenzo in 2011, when it replaced the long standing good selling SL88 with the SL94.  Just as the 88, the SL94 was also a raised pilot house yacht, but had an important different layout which the previous model did not offer, for a main deck with fore ship owners stateroom.  The SL94 had also the advantage which similar type and size yachts above 28 meter did not have in 2011, and that was a hull size or load line length 23.9 meters or under.  Meaning it can be helmed by owners or captains with a standard yacht master licence.  This gave the SL94 two features unheard in this size; owners room on the main deck which used to be found in yachts a couple meters bigger, and a hull size which legally classifies as a smaller yacht.
PRESENT
The Sanlorenzo SL94 was an important change and other builders reacted to this.  In the fall of 2012 Ferretti presented the project for the 960, a new flagship for the Yachts range launching in the first half of 2013.  Amer came following in 2013 with the semi wide body Cento measuring just above 29 meters.  Always in high attention Azimut followed with the new Grande 95RPH which launched in early 2014.  Seeing all this competition in 2014 Sanlorenzo tweaked its SL94, and developed it into the SL96 with some important modernization details, see large sized cabin windows below, and opening optional balconies on the main deck.  The last to join the pack is the British Sunseeker who in 2015 presented the project for its new raised pilot house 95 Yacht which the Poole based builder launched in the second quarter of 2016.
Upcoming is the Summer 2016 presented project by Canados with the 969 Coliseum, set to launch in 2017.  The Canados will be an interesting challenge to all builders listed here, with Sanlorenzo being the traditional competitor, as both builders are a representation of hand build made in Italy semi-custom yachts since the 1970's.
FUTURE
It is a growing new class with some important super yacht builders creating an interesting choice to buyers looking for a raised pilot house pocket super yacht of 28 to 29 meters overall with a hull or load line length less to 23.9 meters and an owners stateroom on the main deck.  Who is next in this class is all speculative, but expect something to come from Montecarlo Yachts, Princess, and Fipa Maiora.  I would say the next new challenge in this size coming from Montecarlo Yachts who would not surprise me to have something ready for 2017 as the company has an empty spot between its large 105 and 86 models.

New Model: Amer 100 Cento

Amer presents its new Cento, a semi wide body super yacht designed by Massimo Verne.  With hull one launched in 2013, it took three years to launch the second Amer Cento with a more official presentation in the fall boat shows of 2016.  Hull two and one have an important different propulsion feature, with the second hull powered by a quad Volvo IPS system which delivers important efficiency numbers. With this Amer follows the success it had with the 94. Still the Amer Cento is available in wide variety of engine and propulsion formats, from long range versions with twin engines just above 1000hp or faster variants as the quadruple Volvo 800hp with IPS, or twin 1900hp engines and Fortjes pod drives.  Interesting is also that the Amer Cento features a hull length just under 24 meters, as is the case for both the first two units delivered.

New Model: Amer 94

Amer 94 in an interesting new pocket size super yacht from the North Liguria boat builder. Replacing the 92 as Amer entry level model, the 94 might seem the classic contemporary Italian motor yacht outside; a sweeping super structure followed by hull lines having a shear line straight as the horizon. But go skin deep, to be exact inside the engine room and the Amer breaks convention with it's triple Volvo 900hp IPS propulsion system.  It is in fact as at today the largest IPS propelled yacht build so far in Europe.  Like all Amer's the 94 breaks convention only in this regard, as designer Stefano Tini shows the semi custom variety the builder is known for offering five different layout options.  The main difference in the layouts concerns the lower deck, offering plans which come in three large suites, traditional four double cabins, or a three cabins plus a room for a gymnasium choice.

New Model: Amer 116

Head lined as a project in the last couple years the new Amer flagship 116 model is finally launched and presented. The 116 like the previously 2007 launched 92 was fully designed by Italian firm Verme Projects, who presented Amer with a three deck super yacht, including its fully closed raised pilot house. Verme's styling bring an upper deck looking more coming from a hard top Sport Yacht then a flybridge, and the same can be said to the sweeping stern lines. Inside the 116 as all Amer yachts offers a near to total customisation with hull number one being a very owner dedicated three double cabin plan. Still the 116 can have up to six double cabins for a more charter friendly use, showing with this total flexibility in the interior plans. Speeds with the standard big twin MTU 2637hp engines is a max of 28 knots, but on option is a more economic to run smaller Cats 1925hp which give speeds up to 21 knots. Range distance is up to 750 nautical miles.

New Model: Amer 92

The new Amer 92 is the natural evolution of the Amer 86 design, inheriting and developing those features that made Amer 86 such a success. The boat’s performance, its handling qualities and its sea worthiness are an essential part of the hull’s performance. It should also be noted that the boat is fully equipped, underlying the shipyard’s flexibility in making boats that are highly personalized and custom based, paying attention to the smallest detail. The styling of Amer 92 is in harmony with the design of its popular sister yacht. This establishes a feeling of stylistic continuity, but does not prevent its features being improved, in particular by prolonging and harmonizing its surfaces. The boat’s outline has benefited from the increased length, resulting in a more attractive and streamlined design. The yacht’s larger size has favoured its standard layout – if one can speak of standards about a shipyard that has made of the custom-based approach its key to success. There have been major improvements in each area, from the boat’s stern to the bow. Changes have not only been made to the crew cabin, the VIP and the twin berth guest cabins, but above all to the master cabin. All the accommodation area space has been revised, extended and optimized. The new window design also guarantees better lighting of the day area. The main deck layout has also been redesigned to enhance its functionality: the dining area is independent from the saloon and a single staircase leads to the lower deck. Rather than enlarging the already functional galley and wheelhouse, the cockpit has been transformed into a vital living area. In defining the project’s objectives the possible options afforded by the boat’s increased dimensions have been taken into consideration, as well as the new demands of a constantly changing market. The size and dimensions of the Amer 92 have enabled the construction of an aft garage for the tender’s storage and further optimization of the space allow the shipyard to offer the customer a 5 cabin option. The space previously employed for the tender on the Amer 86 has been replaced by a wider flybridge, where a Jacuzzi and a large sun bed can now be found. The most recent market trends and new customer demands show a growing awareness of environmental factors. In terms of the boat design this has meant focusing on ever-increased efficiency. The demand for an eco-friendly product will be as important in the future as the search for increased power once was. Customers will no longer be satisfied with a more powerful horse-power, but will insist on assessing the yacht’s true efficiency. The Amer team has made of these concepts their guiding principles, deciding to concentrate on two essential features: energy conservation and respect for the environment. The boat has been made lighter and more resistant by using new materials and by adjusting the weight distribution. These arrangements together with the excellent hull qualities and an optimization of the propulsion system ensure that Amer 92 has the best consumption rates in its category. Tests on the Amer 86 have shown that in displacement navigation, using one single engine, during long voyages, the consumption rate can be compared to that of a small displaced ship. These arrangements are the basis of the new project and will enable the boat to face long voyages with very low consumption rates. The interior plan of the yacht has also been modified with a view to conserving energy: from the lighting to the electrical system to the air conditioning system and the internal insulation. The result is a boat that can, just to give one example, under the same external environmental conditions, in terms of temperature and humidity, stay at anchor employing only a part of the power needed by the generators if compared to other boats of similar classification. These modifications have reduced sound levels, thus achieving greater comfort on board. The employment of a system treating all sewage on board enable the yacht to moor in port or stay at anchor without being subject to rules which are going to be made more restrictive in the future.
