Project: Sanlorenzo SD90

Sanlorenzo present the project of the SD90, a new entry level model in its traditional ship looking semi displacement range which was announced during the Venice boat show in May 2022. Sanlorenzo SD range launched in 2007 with the SD92, and since then it has never looked back, a success from the start with the first model selling 24 units.  Designed by Zuccon, with Phillipe Briand doing hull engineering, the SD90 will offer an accommodation layout sleeping eight in four cabins, with an owners stateroom located on the main deck.  The Sanlorenzo SD90 will offer a full beam wide body forward area for an owners stateroom on the main deck, which integrates well into the design of the yacht.  There is a certain equilibrium with the SD90 all looking very traditional and yet when one puts all together it all comes down to a modern yacht.  There is also a huge research in recyclable materials used in hull number one, which along with a hybrid electric propulsion by Siemens, this optional version marked /s makes it as one of the most ecological yachts in its size.  The Sanlorenzo SD90 is standard powered by twin Man 800hp or optional Cats 1150hp engines with speeds expected to reach seventeen knots.  The SD90/s Siemens hybrid version will cruise at six knots in electric only mode, and ten knots in hybrid.

New Model: Galeon 800 Fly

Galeon present its largest build to date with the launch of its new 800 Fly model.  Designed by Tony Castro both outside and inside and measuring 25 meters over all, the new Galeon 800 Fly flagship replaces and surpasses the 780 Crystal launched in 2011 as the largest build to date by the Polish builder.  Once looking at the details one would also notice that the 800 Fly is an evolution of the previous 780 flagship.  Going against Galeon recent trends the 800 Fly sees the Polish builder and Castro taking a conservative approach, opening side bulkheads as the smaller models are not featured in the 800, and no central passageway from the interior to the fore deck of the main deck as in the 640 model.  As layouts go the 800 Fly offers a traditional four double cabins layout with a master stateroom at midships.  Two crew cabins with a small lobby and entrance from the bathing platform is located aft.  The Galeon 800 Fly is standard powered by twin Man 1650hp engines and or optional 1920hp MTU and anything in between.  The Galeon 800 Fly is selling already well with five units reported under construction and next delivery date for 2024, against only two 780 Crystal reported build in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

Classic American Cruiser Ends Aground in Port Angeles

A fourteen meter flybridge cruiser named m/y Eudora washed aground in the North side of Ediz Hook, Port Angeles, Washington on 1730 of Wednesday fifteen September.  The classic explorer cruiser was recently bought in auction from a 51 year old, and three hours into its delivery ended without fuel, which ultimately washed her ashore. The following morning m/y Eudora was inspected by the Coast Guard for environmental damage, with the fuel tanks empty, and remaining oil drained by the officers, this hazard was removed.  At some point the Port Angeles Coast Guard did try to tow out the flybridge cruiser, with no success the situation returning into the hands of the owner.  Ultimately m/y Eudora ended up being destroyed into pieces and becoming a wreck.
M/y Eudora is a Trojan 42 FBMY model produced from 1965 up to 1972.  The Trojan 42 FBMY was build of wood and offered a two double cabins layout, with an owners cabin located aft and raised saloon living area in between the cabins.  The Trojan 42 was also offered as MY without a flybridge, and evolved into the F-44, fiberglass construction and a lightly different upper structure look in 1974.

Project: Azimut S7

Azimut present the project for a new S7, which has now received the Alberto Mancini exterior looks treatment looking more a sibling albeit smaller to the larger S8 and S10 models.  Launched in 2017 the original S7 was designed by 1992-2018 Azimut lead designer Stefano Righini to huge success.  The mark II or Mancini version builds on the same Ausonio designed hull form, with some little changes to the layout plan.  The changes is in some details; the fore deck lounge area for example has minor design tweaks which is now more rounded and open, while the master stateroom queen berth is looking to port side bulkhead instead of an angle as it was before, and now features a large sofa to starboard opposite.  Other detail changes are the garage which is now that bit larger with the same length, not shorter to the jet-bike side.  These changes have added an extra weight of about 2500 kilograms in loaded mode, now weighing 46 ton versus the 43.5 of the Righini version but performance has not changed according to Azimut with the three Volvo 800hp and IPS pod drives still giving a declared 35 knots of top speed.
