Project: Austin Parker 38 Ibiza WA

Austin Parker present the project for the 38 Ibiza WA designed by Fulvio de Simoni. A sport cruiser of just over eleven meters in length, the 38 Ibiza WA, these letters standing for walk-around offers outside space usable from aft to fore, with the living area; sun-pad, dining table and galley located at the centre console helm station. This area is also available in a different version with short sun-pad. Accommodation below is for four berths with master double berth forward, separate twin berth cabin at midships and shower head to port side. The Austin Parker 38 Ibiza WA is powered by twin Volvo 300hp with stern drive propulsion, with top speeds up to 35 knots and a cruise of 28.

New Model: Cheoy Lee CLB88

Choey Lee CL Yachts introduces the CLB88, created in collaboration with Milan based designer Jozeph Forakis.  For the CLB88 Forakis went for a traditional styled pocket size super yacht, with a four double cabins interior layout.  The main deck offers a living dining area divided by one step from the open galley and pilot house.  Featuring a planning hull the CLB88 is powered by twin Cats 1600hp with line shaft propulsion offering a top speed of 25 knots.  CL Yachts which is how Cheoy Lee has rebranded its fully production fiberglass line, which the Chinese boat builder has introduced in the last decade starting the sporty72 series.

Project: Moonen 110

The latest design from Dutch superyacht builder Moonen Yachts has been revealed. Having carefully listened to the market, coupled with the trends and desires of both current and prospective owners, Moonen have developed and designed the 110 in collaboration with exterior designer RenĂ© van der Velden, and naval architects Diana Yacht Design. Moonen 110 takes into consideration the success of the 84 and 97 builds, both of which continued to be sold successfully between 2000 and 2011. At the time of initial development, the design of these classic superyachts was spot on and to this day continues to be admired and loved by many. With successful incorporation of exceptional performance at sea, comfort, style and the appeal of a true superyacht, Moonen 84 and 97 proved themselves to be the perfect starting point for the creation of the superyacht builder’s newest endeavour. Moonen have set out to build on this success by delivering a yacht that meets the needs and requirements of those who both love and enjoy the superyacht lifestyle, whilst maintaining the style and quality of yacht that the Moonen Yachts brand has become well known for. A Gentleman’s Yacht, Moonen 110 will be unrivalled in performance and comfort. Spread over three decks; lower deck, main deck and a combined bridge and sun deck, she has a contemporary design whilst reflecting the elegant and timeless lines of her predecessors. The Moonen 110 is to be powered by twin Cat 1000hp which will give a top speed of thirteen knots and a cruise of 10.

Filipetti Yacht Burns Down in Gulf of Corinth

A 23 meter Filipetti motor yacht titled Just Mine with Jersey flag burned down in flames in the Gulf of Corinth, one nautical mile away from Bouka, Aigio in the morning of Friday November 13.  The Filipetti  motor yacht was in route to her home berth in Italy,  in return from a refit job in Turkey.  The two crew on board Just Mine where rescued and evacuated.  The motor yacht eventually sank and is a total loss.
Just Mine is a Filipetti Flybridge 76 model from 2013.  She is possibly the first of the Flybridge 76 series which was an evolution of the Evo 23 model build in between 2006 up to 2009 and became popular for its clean sleek design but also for being the first motor yacht in this size to have a fore deck dinette. Both the Evo 23 and Flybridge 76 come from a design of Fulvio de Simoni, who presented her with a four double cabins interior, and was powered by twin 1500-1650hp engines reaching top speeds up to 30 knots and a cruise of around 25 with the largest engine option.

Ocean Alexander introduces the 27E the first in the anticipated new Explorer Series. Improve-It = Maritimo M70

After success Maritimo’s mighty flagship flybridge motoryacht the M70 gets presented with a new dress for 2020 and beyond. The latest 2020 edition M70 flybridge motor yacht come with a range of design refinements including integrated hull side panoramic windows with ports and an optional targa design.  Up until September 2020 the Maritimo M70 together with the same hull but shorter M64 sibling has sold in thirty units in a five year production run starting the fall of 2015.  The success of the M70 comes down to an efficient and trouble free line shaft hull design, along with modest power which starts from 900hp and goes up to 1200hp engines.  The Maritimo offers a four double cabins thee head interior layout with a full beam master cabin located at midships.

Following the success of the 48 WallyTender, Wally follow it fast by presenting the new slightly smaller  43 WallyTender.  Fast, robust and practical this 13 meter sport cruiser slash runabout perfectly balances form with multifunction, introducing the innovative centre cockpit design to provide protection to the cockpit with the practicality and access of a walkaround. Project: Bluegame BG72

Bluegame present the project for a new BG72 flagship.  Designed by Giovanni Zuccon, Luca Santella, and naval architecture by Lou Codega, Bluegame declares the BG72 as the first open sport yacht in the market that rivals flybridge yachts, having interior areas equally comfortable.  Possibly this declaration is true but at 22 meters in length most flybridge motor yacht do offer a four cabins four head layouts, which the BG72 does have not.  Saying all this the Bluegame BG72 offers incredible outside space, thanks to its fore to aft walkaround deck and a unique mix of protected exterior open areas.  Zuccon and Santella for the BG72 have been also clever to bring the design influence of the aft deck with connected saloon on the lower deck of the BGX series, presented in 2019 with the 70 and repeated in the 2020 60 model novelty.  The Bluegame BG72 is standard powered by Volvo 900hp and or optional 1000hp engines with IPS pod drives.  Top speeds are estimated at thirty knots max.

Giancarlo Ragnetti 1946 - 2020

Giancarlo Ragnetti former Perini Navi CEO and founder left to the better World on November 8 in Viareggio, Italy.  Born in the Marche region on the Adriatic East Coast of Italy in 1946 Giancarlo Ragnetti entered in the maritime industry, first working in 1960 with Cantiere Navale Mario Morini in Ancona which build commercial ships.  In seventies Giancarlo Ragnetti started to work with RINA, and in the mid seventies he returned to boat building, joining Ortona Navi.  While at RINA and Ortona Navi, Giancarlo met Fabio Perini in 1978, and from there on the two went on to open Perini Navi in 1983, with Ragnetti as managing director.  Perini Navi eventually grew without limits from there onwards, becoming possibly the most important sailing superyacht builder of the past three decades.  Along with various prizes for Perini Navi, Giancarlo Ragnetti won himself the Leadership Award in 2013 bestowed to him by the International Superyacht Society.  Other hallmarks for Giancarlo Ragnetti was him overseeing the launch of Picchiotti in 2007 which Perini acquired previously.  Retiring from Perini in 2014, but keeping his post as Director Giancarlo Ragnetti latest duty was as director for UCINA from 2011 to 2015.  Giancarlo Ragentti leaves behind his wife Raffaella, daughter Francesca and son Simone.

New Model: Prestige X70

Prestige present the new X70, an innovative different thinking wide body motor yacht of 21 meters in length.  Designed by Garroni since always responsible of the Prestige line, the Italian designer for the X70 took different design choices, which thanks to them presented the motor yacht with the largest aft deck in the category, and a floating located forward in between the lower and main deck master stateroom. The extra wide body space has been use to increase the space in the aft deck.  The Prestige X70 also gives choice to the owner from three or four cabins option, and a dining area located inside to starboard or outside.  The Prestige X70 is powered by twin Volvo 900hp and or optional 1000hp engines with IPS pod drives.
