Project: Otam 65 Millennium HT

Having had a conservative past in its history, this year surely comes as a surprise seeing Otam upgrading its line of super Sport Cruisers and Yachts, with two new models in the 2009 season. First there was the beginning of the year announced 58 Millennium Open version but with a fully redesigned super structure and main deck presented in Cannes a few weeks ago, and now the company heads to Genoa with the all new 65 Millennium HT. A full new boat for the Santa Margherita shipyard renowned for its over built fast Sport Cruisers and Yachts. The standard lower deck accommodation for the 65 will be a twin double cabin plus crew quarters plan, featuring also an L-shaped galley to port side, and a C-shaped saloon to starboard. The Otam 65 main deck is also the other surprise here thanks to its fully opening patio door which hides on the top of the hardtop. This area also surprises for its unusual spaces compared to similar sized boats. Still these plans are just the standard version offered by Otam without forgetting that each new build by this Italian builder is tailor made suiting its owner needs and desires. As all Otam's the 65 Millennium HT will have super fast speeds in the best comfort with the company estimating a 52 knots cruise with twin Cats C32 1825hp.

Project: Otam 58 Millennium Open

Based on the success of the Otam 55 Millennium, which later this year was also modified as the 58 Millennium HT, the new 58 Millennium Open represents the next step for the Otam shipyard, renowned for building rock solid sport yachts with 50 knots plus performance. The 58 Millennium Open takes a new direction for the Italian, Santa Margherita builder offering a pure fast heavy open day boat, in what is a big 19 metre size. While the super fast sea keeping hull of the Otam comes from the HT sister, the boat has some important new modifications worth of noting, like the solarium for natural light on the deck, and the cockpit layout now offering two sunpads per side, and 2 settees one c-shaped to port behind the helm station and an l-shaped to starboard of which to fore lies also an l-shaped wetbar. Standard interior layout offers 2 separate cabins, a spacious galley to port, c-shaped settee to starboard and a day head. Owners cabin is to fore with a separate shower stall and head, and the guest cabin is located mid-ship. Still speaking of interiors on an Otam is always a bit superfluous as all the boats are custom made, but this is in principle the standard option. Power for the Otam 58 Millennium Open comes from twin Caterpillar 1670hp each, which the builder is very confident will give 50 knots cruising speeds in the out most comfort in various sea conditions.

Project: Otam 45 Heritage

Italian boatbuilder Otam has restyled the external lines and deck lay-out of its Heritage 45 motoryacht to optimise the cohesion between shape, functionality and technology. The new windscreen has been modified in shape and size, and complements a new dashboard and sporty-look bridge. Its tread plate is made entirely of teak with wide staves resting on an underlying fibreglass structure. In line with Otam's philosophy the 45 also has features to reflect the owner's personality: a metallic hull and deck colour can be chosen for internal lacquering as well. The interior further features black walnut woodwork, a neutral fitted carpet with a coconut style weave and leather sofa. It is subdivided into a spacious cabin for the owner with a bath and shower ensuite, a convertible dinette and stow-able kitchenette, guest cabin and a guest bathroom with shower. Powered by two Cat C12 engines of 710hp the yacht can reach a maximum speed of 45kt, but a super sport option of two Cat C18 engines with 1000hp is also available - and this will reach maximum speeds of 56kt.
