New Model: Galeon 500 Fly

Impressive is how Galeon turned around its stakes in recent years, and became one of the innovators, and this is not an accident since the Polish builder keeps on bringing important design first in each new model it launches.  The introduction summary on Galeon website say the 500 Fly has no equal in yachting today, and on this we have all to agree. Transformation of exterior spaces have been coming since some years, and if my memory is serving right the first in this regard was the 2006 launched Mediterraneo 50 Continental from Italy and its side opening bulkheads becoming bathing platforms.  Obviously Galeon takes much further steps to that, also thanks to the opening of  flybridge side doors on what usually are windows, creates an unseen single level of entertainment from mid to the aft deck.  But Galeon does not stop there and also reinvents the fore deck of its new sixteen meter motor yacht.  I am sure some questions will be asked to Galeon about the structural integrity of all this, and how the bonding of the large windows copes in couple of years of usage.  But till this moment we can just admire the Galeon 500 Fly and the innovation it brings to the World of motor yachting.

Project: Galeon 500 Fly

Galeon presents an important project for a 500 Fly model. This new Galeon will feature a totally new hull design and fills a long standing gap of the line between the 430 series of models and the 550.  The Galeon 500 Fly renderings show the profile a very modern flybridge motor yacht and a fly deck being at the fore front for its size and spaciousness.  Below will be a three double cabin plan with an owners stateroom located amidships.  Two shower heads, one of which en-suite for the owner and both to port side serve the guests. A fully equipped crew cabin is located aft.  The living is all on the main deck, and will feature an astern galley, and a C-shaped settee to port side.  Intelligent solutions on the 500 Fly will come from the integrating of the helm seat merging into the starboard settee which becomes an L-shape sofa, and the movement of a section on the fore deck to make this become a more open area. Power of the 500 Fly will come from twin diesel engines from 625 up to 725hp engines.

Project: Galeon 305 Open

Galeon continue to upgrade its 300 entry level series choice with the third installment coming from the 305 Open version.  Surely by the looks coming from the rendering this is to be the most aggressive of the trio, thanks also to the enticing forward facing radar arch.  For its layout both above and below deck the 305 Open will base itself on the layout as featured of the fall 2014 launched 305 HTC.  The main deck layout remains one of the most interesting in this size thanks to a sun-pad aft, C-shaped settee, helmsman chair to starboard, and entrance corridor, wet-bar, and a sun lounge to port side.  Below will be a four berths layout with a classic two plus two configuration presented in a U-shaped dinette forward which converts to a double berth, and double bed cabin at midships. In between the cabins is a galley to port-side, with opposite to this being a shower head.
