Web: Linssen Yachts New Web Site

Netherlands's Linssen Yachts presents its new world web virtual showroom. Founded in 1949 by Jac Linssen in Maasbracht who at the time was flourishing with over two hundred war damaged vessels awaiting for repairs. Linssen Senior at the time just finished his training as a shipwright specialized in wood machining which started his first works doing prefabricated teak made wheelhouses, doors, and later to wheels. But as ship business increased, the company required a metal working department, and this line in the business which started as repair facility was the launch of the first Linssen Vletten boats being built; rowing, work, and small flat bottomed all built of steel, a material which will characterized Linssen future onwards from there. The first yacht for Linssen was based on the Vlet, added with a handsome super structure and luxurious fit out. In the seventies Jos Linssen started the second generation of the company, and this marked the registration of Linssen Yachts BV, which was followed very shortly with the launch of the St.Jozef Vletten. the model which inspired today Sturdy models. The eighties also saw the development of other models the SL, SE, and SX series, and in 1995 the first Sturdy designed with Dick Lefeber was launched. Today Linssen has two ranges the Grand Sturdy, and Range Cruiser series which total sixteen models starting from the 25.9 Grand Sturdy, and go to the current 500 Grand Sturdy Variotop Mark II flagship. Improve-it = Linssen 25.9 Grand Sturdy

Linssen Yachts takes a course of innovation introducing a 25.9 Grand Sturdy with a hybrid propulsion system. For this improved unique 25.9 Grand Sturdy Linssen adopted the new Mastervolt E Power which uses the DriveMaster 7.5 Ultra electric motor, combined with a 48 V Mass Combi, and four LI-ION batteries what becomes a particularly efficient drive system. The DriveMaster arrangement is backed up by one of Mastervolt’s proven 3kW Whisper Generators to cope with the power demands of serious cruising and longer voyages. When travelling slowly, the main arrangement will provide up to eight hours of relaxed, fully electric cruising facilitated by the lack of vibration, engine noise or exhaust fumes. At cruising speed, the range is around 3 hours without generator backup. At the end of the day on the water, manoeuvring into a berth becomes a pleasure, helped by the high torque provided at lower engine revs. Another integral part of the electric propulsion system being installed on the 25.9 Grand Sturdy hybrid version is Mastervolt’s 48 V Mass Combi combined battery charger and inverter. This intelligent power management system combines a sophisticated battery charger with a pure sine wave inverter. On the Linssen 25.9 Grand Sturdy, it will ensure smooth battery charging and drive power when the boat is using the Mastervolt Whisper Generator for extra motoring range.

Projects: Linssen 60.33 Grand Sturdy, Linssen 60.43 Grand Sturdy

Linssen presents two sensational projects which are in a nearly completed build stage to mark its sixtieth anniversary. Linssen Yachts was established by Jac. Linssen Sr. in 1949. He had gained his experience in commercial shipping. Now sixty years on, Linssen prides itself on this professional origin by building traditional cruisers and yachts with the sound construction offered by steel. As the Holland based builder says sturdy boats built using the latest technology and toughest material that is steel leave the shipyard. The Linssen family will be building two unique anniversary models for delivery in the 2010/2011 season, the 60.33 Grand Sturdy, and the 60.43 Grand Sturdy both of which are special Diamond editions. The 60.33 Grand Sturdy pictured above will offer a two cabin interior located at both ends of this Dutch traditional cruiser, a head, separate shower room, and a mid deck room with saloon and galley. Power is by a single Volvo 75hp engine, with shaft propulsion.
The Linssen 60.43 Grand Sturdy is the second sixtieth anniversary project from the Dutch builder aimed at celebrating the company founding. Steel constructed to a CE B standard, the 60.43 offers a spacious and comfortable three cabin interior. The cabins all located at the lower deck are two for the guests located to fore, and the owners suite situated aft. A mid living deck a traditional layout for Linssen, offers a galley, office deck, C-shaped settee, and dining table for six. Power is by a single Volvo of 150hp.

New Model: Linssen 25.9 Grand Sturdy Sedan

Dutch boat builder Linssen present the new 25.9 Grand Sturdy distinguished by its full hull. This creates a vast amount of space which the designers have put to good use. The separate fore cabin contains a generously proportioned French style double bed and there is also a separate head shower compartments as well as ample cupboard and storage space. The helmsman’s position and cockpit are on one level, creating a “saloon” of about eight metres squared which gives a pleasant feeling of space. It can be completely opened in fine weather and well protected when the weather is not so good (on one side when windy, if desired) using the handy open cockpit covers all around. Helmsman’s position with bench seat and “co-pilot” seat have been located centrally so that captain and partner can together enjoy a panoramic view while under way. The fully equipped galley unit behind the cockpit bench on the starboard side is positioned practically opposite the large, real leather U-bench with great book-reading position and dinette table. The interior is finished in luxury American cherry wood throughout, which creates an atmosphere of warmth and luxury when combined with the curtains and the attractive floor. Although its ease of operation and compact dimensions make it extremely suitable for short weekend trips, Linssen definitely did not develop the Grand Sturdy Sedan 25.9 as a typical day cruiser, on the contrary it is also well suited to longer stays, particularly because of good storage space availability under the cockpit floor.
