Project: Feadship 36.5 m Bahamas

Here at PowerYacht we love it when some of the famous names in yachting go out of there comfort zone, and present something different to what they usually are doing in recent times.  This new 36 meter Feadship project Bahamas is just about that, as today the Dutch builder is very rarely seen going in under the forty meter mark. Last build under forty meters was launched in 2017, and before that it was 2008.  Project Bahamas was presented by Feadship during the Palm Beach boat show in March 2023, with some rendering shared on its social media platforms.  She comes from a design of Dutch firm De Voogt and Italian FM Nautica who do the interior.  To be built of aluminium Feadship project Bahamas is one of the modern takes from the renowned Dutch super yacht builder with seamless main and lower decks, creating a clean and minimal yet sporty profile, thanks to the use of clean lines without curves.  Feadship project Bahamas will also feature an extendable beach club aft, with a splash pool and side lowering bulk heads.  Accommodation will be for four double guest cabins, including of which is an owners stateroom forward of the main deck.  Feadship project Bahamas is also a very ecological concept in terms of materials used for its construction, with a proposal to make the floor made with a stone-marble-resin matrix replacing teak.

New Model: Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition

Presented in the fall of 2022, the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition comes as a replacement to the 4800 after five years in production.  Even though called the 4600 she is in reality a bit longer and wider to the outgoing model.  The new 4600 Sport Yacht comes straight out with the luxurious refinement of the Platinum Edition, a feature Rivera introduced in 2019 for the Sport Yacht range which today features three models.  The 4600 Sport Yacht welcomes you aboard the generous hydraulic swim platform, which is followed by a garage, designed to store a range of water sports equipment under the cockpit and can be accessed through an electrically operated door.  A new entertainer's cockpit has been created with a wrap-around lounge across the transom and port side with a timber dining table, and a wet-bar with barbecue located to starboard.  The airy saloon flows to the cockpit through a sliding glass door and awning window. A fully equipped U-shape galley is located on the port side of the saloon space, immediately aft of the helm. A servery and bar unit are opposite. The plush dining space is forward on the starboard side, featuring a large timber table surrounded by a luxurious U-shape lounge that will seat up to six people.  The Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht provides three staterooms and two bathrooms on the light-filled accommodation deck including a full-beam master amidships featuring full head height, a central king size bed and large hull windows that fill the space with natural light.  A two cabin version is also available, replacing the bunk third cabins with a L-shaped lounging sofa.  The Rivera 4600 Sport Yacht is powered by twin Volvo 600hp, with IPS pod drives.  At launch she was offered with the smaller 480hp Volvos and IPS combo but Riviera has since then removed these engines as standard, and with the dry weight of nineteen tons this was a correct call.

Super Yacht Vandalized in Ancora Marina Germany

A 32 meter super yacht titled m/y Lady M III was spray painted as a protest by green activists on the nineteen June in Ancora Marina, Neustadt, located in the North of Germany on the Baltic sea to the East of Hamburg.  The activists Letze Generation which translates to Last Generation filmed the activity on social media platforms and wrote a post for policy change against excess in consumption by the super rich.
While everyone has a right to protest in liberal democracies, this is a total wrong way of passing a message.  Probably the emissions generated by all yachts all around the World is less to point zero one per cent, and this is just a stupid way to make a show out of nothing.
M/y Lady M III is a Moonen 105 launched in 1994 and designed by Mulder, with a six guests three cabin, and four crew accommodation layout.  She is powered by twin Deutz engines with speeds up to thirty knots.  While only one Moonen 105 was made, she had a similar design as the Moonen 83 which sold in five units, and the 80 and 89.

Motorboat and Sailing Boat Collision in Croatia

A collision between a thirteen meter Prestige flybridge motor cruiser and a sailing boat occurred in Croatia on Sunday eighteen June. The dynamics are not reported with the motor boat receiving the most extensive damage to its port side, fiberglass and hull windows damaged, and the sailing boat having damage on its bow.
The flybridge motor cruiser in this collision is a Prestige 460 Flybridge.  Released in 2017 replacing the 450, the Prestige 460 Flybridge is still in production and as all Prestige is designed by Garroni.  The Prestige 460 has a two cabins interior with an optional crew cabin, powered by twin Volvo 370 or 440hp engines with IPS pod drives, and is also available as S hard-top version without flybridge.

Princess Aground in Rorvig Denmark

A fifteen meter Princess flybridge motor yacht with three persons onboard ran aground on the Eastern break water of Rorvig Lystbadehavn marina, Sjaelland area to the North of Denmark on Sunday eighteen June.  The Princess yacht was on a delivery trip to its home port.  The cause of the grounding are not reported though an error during navigation seems to be the most likely cause, as weather condition where reported good and there was no tide to speak off according to reports.  Damage from the photos which show the forward bow sections seemed repairable, though the IPS pod drives and propellers sheared off on the impact with the break water.
The Princess yacht in this grounding is the F50 model.  Released in 2019 as a replacement to the 49 produced from 2016 to 18, the F50 comes from a design of Bernard Olesinski and Pininfarina updating the exterior design. In 2022 the F50 was updated with the addition of larger glazing on the hull sides.

Classic Alfamarine Bronte Sinks in Ravenna Beach

A twelve meter Alfamarine sport cruiser with five persons onboard semi-sank in the early hours of Sunday eighteen June in Lido di Dante, Ravenna.  The sport cruiser is reported to have hit one of the artificial man made reefs created for protecting the beach and sand from rough seas and storms.  The five passengers onboard the sport cruiser used the life raft to drop off the sport cruiser and go on the beach for safety. On Sunday morning the fire fighting diving squad inspected the sport cruiser for fuel or any pollution leaks, with none being reported.  An operation to remove and salvage the Sport Cruiser was being organized.
The Alfamarine in this sinking is the 40 Bronte S model designed by Franco Harrauer and Renato Sonny Levi and produced from 1976 to 88.  Alfamarine first model was also offered in two other versions; Motoryacht with flybridge, and Fisherman with a lowered stern, and two propulsion choices of Levi surface drives and line shafts.  The Alfamarine 40 Bronte will sell in 146 units in an eleven year production run, with a shorter hulled 35 released in 1985.  Alfamarine will take six years to replace the Bronte, when in 1994 it releases the Fabio Buzzi designed 43 model.
