New Model: Cranchi Z35

Always requested since the stop production of the 34 Zaffiro, and not so well received 36, Cranchi presents the new Z35.  A model which on paper has all the credentials to be a success for the well known Italian boat builder.  The Z35 unlike the 36 does one simple important detail, to do not reinvent the wheel. Still the Z35 improves in important features, we see a flash single floor main deck, and the most wanted today hull side windows, and a large bathing platform aft.  The interior of  the Z35 is again a simple but very workable layout in this size with the usual forward owners cabin, twin berths at midships, and saloon, head and galley in between.  Power will come from twin Volvo 260hp stern drive engines.

New Model: Cranchi Sixty Fly

In the middle of Summer Cranchi launched its new Sixty Fly model.  As we advised in our project article the Sixty is an evolution of the 58, with changes occurring in all areas of the boat including main and lower deck.  Outside the visible difference is the large side glass window to the hull side of the 60 Fly.  Inside the most distinctive change is that of the galley, now located to port side of the central main deck helm station. The galley is larger to that of the 58, but also goes against recent trends of putting it astern.  Power will come from twin Volvo 625hp or optional larger 725hp twin engines.

Project: Cranchi 50 Fly

2015 is the year of change at Cranchi, and the 50 Fly is another model representative of this important round of events for the well known Italian builder.  The 50 Fly will be a model which replaces the 50 Atlantique what was a long produced best seller for Cranchi.  Designed in-house and in-family by Aldo Cranchi the 50 Fly features modern and sporty exterior looks.  A low profile flybridge, and the fore deck are two important design elements outside for the 50 Fly.  Most interesting is the fore deck which appears flush when seen horizontally from the outside, but has the must have forward settee and sun-pad.  Inside the main deck of the 50 Fly offers an astern galley layout, with a dinette to port and helm and sofa to starboard.  Power for the Cranchi 50 Fly will come from the Volvo 550hp engine with IPS pod propulsion.

Project: Cranchi Z35

After the success of the 34 Zaffiro, which might just be the most sold model in its size ever made, and the not so good sales of the 36 Zaffiro, Cranchi is targeting to bounce back with the interesting project of the Z35.  The Z35 is a complete new model and does not take anything from the 36 Zaffiro and the now evolved M 38 HT.  She is in fact a slimmer boat less 38 centimeters, and the interior is a standard yet very functional offer.  The central located berth forward, a more spacious galley located to starboard, and what also looks a well laid out cockpit layout all say back to basics.  In simple words the Z35 does not try to change to wheel but embraces it and improves in those details that make a difference.  The Z35 is to be powered by twin Volvo 260hp in stern drive propulsion. If priced competitive Cranchi might have a winner in hand.

Project: Cranchi 60 Fly

Cranchi is preparing itself for the closing of the 2015 season with a couple of important novelties.  The 60 Fly was presented as a project to clients and dealers of the Italian company in Spring and is a further evolution of the 58 model, with important changes both outside and inside.  The most distinct visible change outside is the large side glass surface on the hull, and the settee on the fore deck. Inside the 60 Fly also features important layout changes some being more surprising then others. The  most surprising is the galley on the main deck which in the new 60 Fly has been moved to port side of the central helm station from astern.  Below decks we have two important changes from the owners midships cabin which has been redesigned with the bed now looking to aft, and a third guest head being added to port-side.

Project: Cranchi 40 Eco Trawler Long Distance

Cranchi presents the third model in its Trawler range. This time around the 1870 founded boat builder, preesnts the entry model; the 40 Eco Trawler Long Distance.  The 40 is in reality a more bare, economic version of the 43. Smaller over-all length due cause of no bathing platform, more empty no radar arch flybrdige, and smaller glass surfaces on the ship side. The 40 just as the 43 will features three options for the lower deck; two or three cabins. In the two cabins options one has a choice of a full beam midships owners room, or a guest room and an utility storage room to port side. New Model: Cranchi 27 Endurance

Cranchi has always been very attentive to the small size entry level segment under nine meters, a dimension which has been an important success for the Italian production boat builder. The 27 Endurance is an interesting hybrid day boat overnight cruiser which makes maximum use of exterior and interior spaces. The exterior of Cranchi's 27 Endurance follows a walk around plan and impresses and sometimes over-does it in its accommodating areas from bow to stern; two sun-pads fore and aft, C-shaped dinette, central helm console, and a fully equipped galley under the pilot seat. Below the accommodation again impresses with two sleeping areas fore and midships sleeping four, shower head to starboard, and a ward-robe plus unit to port side. Project: Cranchi 43 Eco Trawler Long Distance

Cranchi shows off a rendering of what will be a very important novelty for the fall boat shows of 2014, the new 40/43 Eco Trawler LD. To be presented in Cannes this 40/43 project is the second model of Cranchi Trawler range and follows on what the 53 LD brought in looks and technical details. That equals to space in all areas, and good range and handling at moderate slow speeds.  As the above rendering tells us the 40/43 is to be powered by Volvo IPS pod drives, and will feature a semi planning hull. This new smaller Eco Trawler will feature full view windows below, covering all the cabins, and by the looks of this rendering makes best use of space in the lower deck. For example see how far aft that window is. No layout information yet, but watch this space for more.

New Model: Cranchi 54 HT

Looking at this Cranchi 54 HT model it certainly impresses for having on appearance the largest hull view window ever seen on a boat.  But do not be impressed as the window size on the 54 HT is the same as that of the Fly version, a vertical box shape serving the owners cabin amidships.  The black painting on hull one make you think it is a full glass area.  This new Cranchi 54 HT is a model based on the Fly model presented in 2012, with everything being the same minus the flybridge up top.  Still for those looking for a private sunpad, the 54 HT does offer one up top reachable from a ladder in the aft deck to starboard.  Can we call this a sun-bridge?  Just to refresh the layout of the 54, this HT offers a lower deck dedicated to three large double cabins, and a main deck featuring a convivial area joining saloon and galley.  The owners room is a full beam amidships layouts with private en-suite head and a double queen sized berth looking to starboard side.  Power is twin Volvo 625hp engines with IPS pods propulsion.

New Model: Cranchi 53 Eco Trawler LD

It's definitely one of Cranchi's most announced and awaited novelties, and also an unedited new direction for the World famous North Italian family run boat builder.  The 53 Eco Trawler LD is Cranchi's answer to a segment of the market which have seen a high renewed interest from boaters since fuel costs have started to increase more or less about a decade ago.  What's interesting about Cranchi new Explorer yacht is that in it come a lot of the ideas featured in the latest planning yachts; astern galley, full beam owner midships stateroom are here, fore deck settee, as well as IPS pod propulsion to help improve economy, giving more buck to the mile are all features of this entry in the long distance segment.  An interesting part of the 53 Eco Trawler LD layout is also the four option choice to the third cabin below.  You can have have this third cabin space in various utilities; twin berths, dinette with no bulk head, storage and two bunk berths, and last as a separate office.

Project: Cranchi 53 Eco Trawler Long Distance

As those who follow us here, or the adventures of the very well known Cranchi know this model was actually presented as a 50 project back in the fall of last year 2012.  Come early this year and this model becomes a 51, and now just before the boat shows it is renamed as 53 Eco Trawler Long Distance.  In my book the 53 Eco Trawler is a big project from Cranchi and this for sure is nothing new for the North East located Italian builder, who always takes challenges with a very mature attitude. I was definitely impressed when for example they started there new Yacht building facility which lasted five years in the making until the first 64 model was launched.  The 53 Eco Trawler Long Distance is on the other hand a different challenge, for a growing side of the motor boat market; that of medium range and more of a living attitude use cruisers and yachts.  Yachts which to be fair are not slow, but not even fast but can make between five hundred and one thousand nautical miles, if you make some calculations in how you cruise and what the engines are drinking.  The 53 Eco Trawler Long Distance has some interesting details from its Volvo IPS pod power propulsion and hull design for them, to solar panels in the flybridge to power electrics, four choices options to the third cabin, and last but important an on-board comfort dedicated to long periods.

Project: Cranchi 27 Endurance

Cranchi showcases the project of the 27 Endurance, a stern drive sports boat sports with overnight accommodation for four persons below. As all Cranchi Endurance models the 27 is boat which is made to enjoy life in the open, yet without forgetting over night accommodation for persons in two different areas.  The 27 Endurance also has a unique detail coming from the aft sun pad which ends close to the tip of the bathing platform, using main deck space to the maximum. This results in the 27 Endurance have a large cockpit sundeck, which features a comfortable L-shaped sofa, teak table, wet bar cabinet with central wet bar small galley housed under the driver's double helm seat double.  Below accommodation offers two double berths one located to fore in a Vee berth configuration, and double amidships, with a shower head in between.  Not bad considering all the space one has outside in a sports boat cruiser measuring around eight meters!

Project: Cranchi 54 HT

Cranchi goes into the fall of 2013 with four important new models from 29 up to 54 feet in size.  This project coming in the Hard Top line will introduce a 54 feet, new model for 2014, and is born on the hull of the 54 Fly model introduced in 2012.  The 54 HT project leverages the layout of the interior and all the mechanics on the Fly version, with an attractive Hard Top designed by Cranchi Design Centre suiting the lines of a sport yacht of this size should have.  To remind you the interior of the 54 offers a three double cabins lower deck, with a full beam owners stateroom, and a saloon with a forward galley arrangement adjacent to the helm station this located to starboard.  A new concept for the 54 HT is the sunbathing deck above the saloon with stairs leading being electrical and disappearing in the extended hard top covering the aft deck when not in use. Power engines are the same as those proposed for the Fly version: twin Volvo 600 or optional larger 700hp units both powered with IPS pods.  Top speeds should be a max of 32 knots with standard engines, and 34 knots with the twin 700hp units.

New Model: Cranchi 54 Fly

Cranchi has made a very visible important effort to expand its over fifty feet yacht range in the recent years, and this new 54 Fly is another model in that direction from the known Italian brand.  The new 54 Fly comes again from the in house and family design team of Aldo Cranchi and the companies Research Development Lab, and welcomes itself with good looks and a mix of sports solutions and nice lines.  Interesting features will be the aft sun pad, something more likely to be found on a sport yacht then a flybridge one, the up and down bathing platform, and the low profile flybridge.  The aft sun pad also features a tender garage underneath increasing tender space for two units.  The saloon of the 54 Fly is also innovative for the fact it is a single level plan and features a dining area at the farthest fore part under the internal windshield, and making the lower deck staircase leading to the cabins in the middle of the saloon area behind the helmsman seat.  The galley is located in the middle of the saloon.  Down below Cranchi makes among the best use of the Volvo IPS pods and creates space for three double cabins with the more modern layout of a full beam midships owner suite with walk-in wardrobe, VIP to fore, double cabin, and a guest head to port.  A single berth crew cabin is located to fore peak with entrance from outside.  Standard power is Volvo 600hp with an option of a 700hp, both units powered by Volvo forward looking dual propeller pods.  Top speeds are a max of 31 knots plus peaks of 33 with the standard 600hp units.  Cruise is a 24 knots which at it the 54 Fly consumes just a little under 150 liters per hours and gives a range of over 300 nautical miles.

Project: Cranchi Fifty8 HT

Cranchi presents a project for the Fifty8 HT, another new member of its ever important Yacht Class range which by the end of 2012 will feature six models from 54 to 66 feet.  As is usual to Cranchi a lot of Research and Design goes in each model release, and even tough the Fifty8 HT is the sleek sports version of last year released Fly model of the same designation I am sure this is again the case.  Cranchi Fifty8 HT follows recent trends of a sports yacht with accommodation and comfort which competes to that of a flybridge boat.  The interior layout of the Fifty8 HT follows that of the Fly version with a living on the main deck, and a lower deck dedicated to three double cabins and two heads, of which one en-suite for the master room.  The owner stateroom located to midships has a bed which looks to port side, and having a breakfast table opposite. The main deck which is in a split level shape surprises for its central helm which is accompanied by a dinette to port side, and astern galley located by the patio door.  Power options are twin Volvo engine choices, a 600 or 700hp with the second generation IPS800 or 900 choice.  Speed estimates are not as yet given, but imagine a max of 32 knots possible with the big engine choice similar to that of the Fifty8 Fly model.

Project: Cranchi 54 Fly

Cranchi starts to show its new projects which will be the hallmark of the important fall 2012 boat show season.  The Italian builder will show four new models in this period, of which among them is also a new outboard line up called Panama of which Cranchi will present a 24 and a 32 feet model. Here today PowerYacht gives the first exclusive rendering of the 54 Fly model, a news which expands the Yacht Class range.  I am so excited about this new Cranchi 54 Fly that without full details I still decided to show it up for you PowerYacht readers! Definitely to like is the very sport looks for a flybribdge motor yacht.  As many would think, but it is not the 54 Fly will feature a new hull, which is ten centimeters less beam to the Fifty 6 Soft Top.  As the rendering shows, Cranchi design team led by Aldo Cranchi presents a very sports flybridge shape.  The flybridge by the looks of it and its extension aft, looks also to be of a large size at least in length.  The saloon should also offer the same feature, notice the not so long fore deck.  Lower deck is also not yet announced but again the large central windows to midships indicate a full beam owners cabin, which is also more aft then usual, definitely benefiting from the stern location of the engines with IPS pod drives.  Power which is one detail given to me is twin Volvo 600 or 700hp units, with the IPS 2; 800 or 900 drives.

New Model: Cranchi 30 Endurance

An important new Cranchi the 30 Endurance, which presents itself as the second small, following the 29 Zaffiro of an eighteen model range which goes up to 66 feet.  The 30 is the baby of the Endurance fleet by Cranchi, the other models being the 35 and long standing 41.  With the 30 Endurance, in house designer Aldo Cranchi, and the research studies developed this model to a semi walk around sport cruiser with huge spaces outside, and a center console set up.  This has paid up for Cranchi and the 30 Endurance which recently won European Powerboat of the Year 2012.   Inside the 30 Endurance offers overnight accommodation sleeping four in a convertible Vee shaped settee, and double berth to midships.  There is also a separate shower head, with a small galley located outside. The pocket cruiser capabilities are featured in the 30 Endurance, although the fuel capacity of only 320 liters does not help much to cover some extra miles. Five engine choices are offered petrol gas or diesel and start from a single 270hp up to two twin 225.  Speeds are 32 knots max, and 26 of cruise with a single 320hp petrol gas set up.
