Project: Astondoa 130 GLX

Astondoa has made recent years expanding its super yacht portfolio, and this new 130 GLX project is an interesting offer presenting itself as the flagship in its Motoryacht range which starts with the 65 GLX model.  A three deck super yacht, and born on paper as a 126 the 130 GLX is a full fiberglass construction and is to be built to Germanisher Lloyd class standards. The layout plan will offer five guest cabins with an owners stateroom located on the top deck, and four guest cabins below.  Three crew cabins including a lobby and a galley are located forward of the lower deck.  Featuring a planning hull with power coming from twin large MTU 3138hp engines, the 130 GLX will reach top speeds of 24 knots and a cruise of 20, this last giving a range of about 900 nautical miles.

New Model: Astondoa 72 GLX

Astondoa follows in its footsteps by making its 72 a turn around model. The 72 GLX from Astondoa heralds a new departure in the looks of its Motoryacht line with an innovative design element going into its fore deck. The bow of the 72 GLX features a very full shape with a triangle point, this adding more space to the fore deck and below.  The 72 GLX also surprises for being among the few flybridge motor yachts with a tender garage space. Lower deck accommodation offers a four double cabins plan with the standard layout of full beam owners room amidships. A crew cabin with a single berth is located to port side aft.  The main deck with the saloon on entrance, a full opening patio door which joins the cockpit, and bulkhead separated galley make for a nice living area.  Power is standard MAN engines 1224hp or optional 1360.

New Model: Astondoa 63 Top Deck

If you are looking for a yacht purely dedicated to entertainment in outdoor spaces may be this one is for you. Presented in Cannes the Astondoa 63 Top Deck is clearly trying to bring a fresh unedited approach to the sport yacht sector.  Here at PowerYacht when seeing the renderings of this new Astondoa which is a project from Luiz de Basto back past Spring, we did say the Spanish builder are up to something different.  The main characteristic of the 63 Top Deck is definitely the amount of space it has dedicated for outdoor space, that is a full floor from bow to stern.  This Top Deck, is a single level area offering diverse spots; from a large fore sun-pad, a bar lounge style behind the helm under the hard top amidships, and last a small jacuzzi pool to stern.  The exterior floor space on the 63 Top Deck also increases by about 20% size thanks to opening balconies, and expendable bathing platform aft.  Below the Astondoa 63 Top Deck also offers an interesting layout with two en-suite served guest cabins amidships, and a galley with a relaxed entertainment area to fore.  There is also a crew cabin with a shower head located in the side of the beach garage, which also features a nice day head to starboard.  This last is surely an unedited feature for a yacht measuring nineteen meters in size.  But in the end the Astondoa 63 Top Deck is an unedited yacht.
Technical Data:
LOA - 19.12 m (62.7ft)
Hull Length - 18.9 m

Project: Astondoa 86 GLX

Astondoa continues its extension of its Motoryacht line, which started in recent months seeing a host of new projects and model being presented.  Designed by Italian architect Christian Gatto the 86 GLX is the Spanish builder future offer in an interesting super yacht dimension size in over all length and just under it to what regards regulations.  The design is modern but Astondoa with Gatto in the 86 GLX follow more conservative looks unlike the new 65, 72, and 80 GLX models. The layout also offers an interesting diverse plan with the semi raised pilot house creating aggressive looks outside made to put the galley in a location to fore.  Unusual in this size I might add. Four double guest cabins are located below, with the owners stateroom to midships, and VIP to fore.  Two crew cabins sleeping four in bunks but supplied with two shower heads are located also to fore peak, and these are cleverly connected to the galley.  Power is standard MAN 1550hp, or optional 1800 and Cats 1885 units.

Project: Astondoa 72 GLX

Astondoa is showing innovative spirit in some of its recent designs from the recently presented Top Deck, but also in its Motoryacht line.  This is shown in the new 65 and 72 projects who show modern integrated hardtops and a reinvention of the foredeck area making this more a living place especially at anchor or in rest position.  The 72 GLX is named identical as one of the best selling models in this size from Astondoa produced from the 1998 till 2007 with that success being designed by the Nuvolari Lenard studio.   The new 72 GLX features a four guest cabins layout with the owners stateroom located to midships, and a crew cabin to aft. Other nice features are a huge tender garage to aft, and a saloon with an open galley plan.  Engines are twin MAN 1224 standard or optional 1360hp.  Speed is a max of 28 knots with the standard engines.

Project: Astondoa 65 GLX

Astondoa presents the project of the 65 GLX a model which replaces the 66, also as entry level of the Motor Yacht line from the Spanich builder. Italian Christian Gatto again is the designer, and in this model he seems to want to form a bridge between that of a cruiser feel to that of a larger yacht.  Without a doubt the line presented is sports and is less conservative to that of the 66 which was designed by other Italians Nuvolari Lenard.  Interesting notes in the looks of the 65 is the astetic reverse shear line in the middle, and the fore deck area with two sunbads and a middle passageway. Three huge owners and guest cabins plus a crew room to aft are present in the lower deck plan interior.  The main deck offers an interesting layout with an astern galley, an opposite L-shaped relaxing sofa, and a dining area to port of the lower main pilot station.  Standard power is twin MAN 1000hp with high hoping top speeds estimated of 33 knots with a 30% load.

Project: Astondoa 63 Top Deck

Some projects come which try to re-invent the wheel of how a boat should look, many go while some are perceived well by the market and create a new segment.  The Astondoa 63 Top Deck designed by Luiz de Basto is a very innovative concept for its layout, looks, and what it brings on the table.  From a certain point of view the 63 Top Deck can look as it is one of those crusing boats which take tourists around in popular coast line areas, investigate close and you notice this is not the case.  Surely looking at the renderings it brings a lot of fresh design in a nineteen meter sport yacht.  Obviously the most interesting part is the main deck and its full use of space from fore to aft.  This creates an unusual spacious area for entairtainment, with bar areas, lounges, sunpad, and a jacuzzi spa bath.  Below the standard layout offers two cabins sleeping five, plus a saloon galley lounge area to fore.  Power is twin Volvo 700hp with IPS pod propulsion with estimated top speeds of 36 knots and a cruise of 25.

New Model: Astondoa 80 GLX

Astondoa presents the new 80 GLX, a project by Christian Gatto who renews his collaboration with the largest Spanish production motor boat builder.  The 80 GLX is the entry level super yacht and replaces the 82, with the first unit of this series launched in the past Spring.  The 80 GLX is offered in four different layouts; two choices for the main and lower deck.  A layout on the main deck is on a traditional plan with a separate galley to port side and a dining table with a welcoming saloon. Alternatively an astern galley layout is also available, which makes the saloon plan looks more like to that of smaller boats and becoming a more convivial area.  Below is four double cabins.  A choice actually here changes some small details with the most important coming from the full beam owners stateroom head and walk-in wardrobe.  Engines are twin MAN 1360 or 1550hp units.

New Model: Astondoa 50 Fly

Astondoa launches its new 50 Fly model, a flybridge motor yacht of just fifteen metres which features incredible spaces for its size. May be the only sin for the Christian Gatto designed 50 Fly just as the smaller 44 sister is just for copying too much the triangle bow of a certain Italian builder, but for the rest the 50 Fly breaks new ground in this size for its space which is over whelming. The 50 Fly has also to be appreciated because it does this without looking too heavy on the lines. The most important area of the 50 Fly is its lower deck, this place having three double cabins, and two heads. Nothing new here, sure but the owners stateroom is full beam, and the third cabin is no bunk. So that is also an improvement on the Astondoa 55. You can also get an extra crew cabin which stands behind the master room as optional. The main deck is the other thing to like, and versus recent designs goes a bit backwards having a split level saloon with dining and helm in the raised part, and saloon with C-shaped sofa and entertainment desk on the lower welcome area. Power is from standard twin Cummins 600hp in a shaft propulsion configuration, although to get these spaces I am sure the ZF Integral vee drive units are used. None the less nothing wrong here, but according to some dealers web site an IPS option just as the smaller 44 should be available here with IPS800 choice.
Technical Data:
LOA - 15.22 m (49.9ft)

New Model: Astondoa 150 Steel

The Astonoda 150 Steel, is the Spanish builder biggest build to date. A three decker super yacht, the 150 Steel takes a lot of forms and shapes from the smaller Astondoa models, creating a nice family feeling and recognition to the brand. Sure using designer Christian Gatto, who did the latest releases from the biggest Spanish builders did help, but none the less this was a wise choice which gives a nice identity to the product. The 150 Steel was previously born as the A138GLX, before being extended and included in the new Astondoa Mega Yacht range. The 150 Steel is the first to be launched in this new range from Astondoa which will follow up with a smaller 120 Steel and a bigger 183 Steel. Accommodation of the first 150 Steel, has four guest cabins in the lower deck, with the owners stateroom on the main floor. Crew berths are four or six in the lower deck, with a further double cabin for the captain on the upper deck by the pilot house. Power is from twin MTU of 2010hp each, which give a max speed of 16 knots and a cruise of 12 knots at 70% power.

Project: Astondoa 50 Fly

Astondoa presents the project of the new 50 Fly. The 50 Fly will replace the 46 model, presented in the end of the nineties and being one of the successful models built by Spain's largest motor boat builder. With this project Astondoa seems set to present one of the most spacious boats for its size and type, with large cabins shown on the so far presented plans. The 50 Fly seems to challenge the competition in all areas, offering the right mix in all parts of the fifteen metre motor yacht. Flybridge space is abundant with a c-shaped settee on the aft part. Main deck follows the theme with a c-shaped saloon settee to starboard upon entrance, and the much missing in most of today's offers off a dining table for four persons to port. The lower deck impresses the most, with three double cabins, three heads, and a galley situated upon descending the stairs. Don't be mistaken but in all this Astondoa also found space for the much requested full beam owners cabin. There is also the availability of an optional crew cabin with own shower head aft. Performance and engine options has so far not been communicated, although I imagine the use of pod drives or an integrated vee drive solution, moving the engines as much as possible aft, in order to gain more space for the cabins. A similar solution to what Astondoa used on its also very spacious 44 Fly model presented in the fall of 2007.

New Model: Astondoa 55 Open Cruiser

Astondoa presents the 55 Open Cruiser, a new model based on the development of the 53 Open. The noticeable difference for the new 55 Open Cruiser from the 53 Open are the patio door aft separating inside from outside, and the aft deck, now featuring a settee versus the sunbed. The 55 Open Cruiser also features an expendable hardtop sun shield to protect the aft deck, and the saloon view windows are now made of an integrated glue window with one vertical port hole to open up for the air. Opening the three piece patio door one also finds the most major difference with the upper saloon now fitted in more luxury with oak and wenge wood, and a leather saloon. Inside the three double cabins layout is kept with the owners cabin to fore, spacious VIP cabin to starboard, and a third bunk cabin to port. New Model: Astondoa AS 42 Fly

Presented during the 2007 Barcelona Boat Show the new Astondoa AS 42 Fly comes to the market with a few innovative well taught ideas. Designed by Italian Christian Gatto, this biggest and prestigious Spanish builder continues to offer extremely spacious and innovative forward looking boats. The interior is a spacious unusual three cabin offer, with all cabins of spacious and important size with no bunk or squeezed third cabin. Considering the dimension of a 12 metre flybridge motor cruiser this is a huge feat. The upper saloon area also enjoys a small dining area to port side of the interior helm station and that is something you also don't see much in boats of this size. The interior furnishing takes a minimal squarish approach with finishing in light colored oak woods with dark wood Wenge colors. From the engineering point, this new Astondoa flybridge will also be offered with an IPS engine option something not seen much on flybridge boats, but for the traditionalists the shaft powered version is the standard offer.

Astondoa presents a host of new projects showing its strong position in today's nautical offer. Continuing with the latest models offered by the Spanish builder the new AS 40 Fly is designed outside and inside by Christian Gatto, offering a modern and spacious interior flybridge cruiser. But innovation for this new model does not stop in its design as it is among the first flybridge cruiser engineered around Volvo's IPS drives and its interior accommodation shows all this, offering three spacious double cabins with none of them being a bunk. Spacious inside when one thinks of the 12 metres length. Astondoa continues also it's upgrade in it's open hard top sport yacht offer. The new AS 67 Open will be the new flagship for the open hardtop range of the manufacturer and as all recent new models is designed by Italian Christian Gatto. Inside the new Astondoa offers 3 separate cabins with a spacious mid-ship full beam owners suite and 2 crew cabins forward. This will be a hard contender in the ever increasing 20 - 21 metre hard top sport yacht competition. A successful market segment for the Spanish builder the new A 76 GLX follows the success of the classic yet timeless 72 of a modern yet functional motor yacht. This new mid-sized motor yacht follows the trend of huge view windows not only on the upper deck but also on the lower deck in the owner and VIP cabins. The brand new and latest Christian Gatto design for the Spanish builder, is the A 90 GLX following the trend shown by the soon to be launched 76. The extra 3 metres of length will give the extra for clients requesting a more spacious motor yacht which should also be available in a 5 cabin option. Flagship of the Spanish builder the new Astondoa A 138 GLX continues where the A 122.3 GLX left in presenting a real masterpiece of design and luxury spaces. The new Astondoa mega yacht will have a semi displacement hull giving top speeds of 21 knots and cruising of 18 with 2 x MTU 4000 V12 giving 2773 HP each.
