Cantieri di Pisa New Web Site

Cantieri di Pisa presents its new World wide web showroom.  Founded by Gino Bini and Antonio Sostegni unofficially in 1945, and officially in 1956 Cantieri di Pisa started life in the commercial harbour of Pisa, and will move in 1959 on the limits of the Arno river, a place which as at today is still home.  The first yachts are wooden sailing yachts; the 20mt Tyrsa in 1945 and the 30mt Kerilos will follow in 1950.  In 1961 the 10 meters Jupiter is launched, starting the motor boat semi-series which interestingly are always named to celestial bodies, constellations, and planets from our solar system; Akhir, Kaitos, Kitapha, Pegasus, Polaris, and Saturno the names being used.  Pierluigi Spadolini will be the architect of all the Pisa motor boats up till the early noughties with Carlo Galeazzi taking design duties in 2008 with the Akhir 108 model. Cantieri di Pisa had various owners onwards from 2001 when German fund investor Dresdner Kleiwort Capital takes 51% of ownership, with Bini and Sostegni keeping the remaining.  In 2004 Camuzzi Group takes 91% of ownership and follows a year later with a total buyout.  Onward from 2010 Cantieri di Pisa enters in crisis with various owners being rumoured of buying out the company every season, eventually Alessandro Falcai buys the yard in 2015 and sells to Sea Finance in 2018.  Since 2021 Cantieri di Pisa is owned by current owner Enrico Gennasio from Alfagomma Group, a fittings firm from Lombardy in Italy who branches out in all industrial sectors.  Over its half a century plus of history Cantieri di Pisa has build over 600 yachts, in semi-custom or custom made to order builds, at first its construction was strictly in wood, but in the nineties the yacht builder made a switch to fiberglass, first as a choice and then totally switching to the material.  The Akhir series which launched with the wooden 16 motor yacht in 1972 proved a successful line which expanded over the years in always bigger sizes and updating styling with the S update to 22 model in 1986 proving a popular one.  Another timeless looking classic Cantieri di Pisa is the seventies introduced Kitaplha 15 which still gets admiring views whenever one gets to see a well conditioned unit.  Cantieri di Pisa largest ever build is the Carlo Galeazzi designed Akhir 153 which launched in 2012 and built in only one unit.  Currently Cantieri di Pisa offers five models in three lines, starting with the Tender 50 of the Chase Boat line, going to the 80 GT and 80 Veloce of the Fast Commuter, and the Akhir 110, 122, and 140 of the Flybridge series.  Cantieri di Pisa new web site takes you around with the following buttons; Home, The Fleet, Custom Division, Services, History, and Contact.  Cantieri di Pisa is also on social media with bottom page links taking you to its Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin pages.

New Model: Cantieri di Pisa Tender 50

Cantieri di Pisa is back, with the Tender 50, the first model of the new ownership and route of Enrico Gennasio which took over the Italian name in 2021, and has a project for five further models from 24 to 42 meters in size.  Cantieri di Pisa first new model presents itself in a small size which the yacht builder had not since produced possibly since the 1970's, and who in the past two decades has been associated mostly with super yachts from 25 to forty meters in size, with the small stint for the two Kaitos open sport yachts of twenty and 23 meters in the early noughties. The Cantieri di Pisa Tender 50, is the entry level and only model of the Chase Boat range, and is a fifteen meter walk around centre console sport yacht mostly dedicated to days use, with interior accommodation for two persons.  The Tender  50 exterior space is concentrated from midships to aft with a galley behind the centre console, followed by a dinette for four to six persons, and an aft sun-pad.  There is also a large central sun-pad forward which located on top of the rather high coach roof.  Down below the the Pisa Tender 50 offers accommodation for a V-shaped dinette which transforms to a double berth, a shower head to port side with a small settee and galley opposite.  The Cantieri di Pisa Tender 50 is powered by twin FNM 350hp diesel engines with stern drives propulsion which give a top speed up to 27 knots and a cruise of 22.

Project: Cantieri di Pisa 37 Akhir Classic

Cantieri di Pisa and designer Luca Dini show the project for a new addition to the Akhir series of motor yachts.  With a 42S Akhir currently in construction this Akhir 37 Classic is the latest addition and follows the stream lined and aggressive design which has characterized one of the most iconic motor and super yacht series since the seventies.  In the concept designer Luca Dini follows features which are part of the DNA of the Akhir range as outlined by designer Pier Luigi Spadolini in the 1970 and eighties when the S range was introduced.

Project: Cantieri di Pisa 42S Akhir

Taken over by Mondomarine in 2015 a new journey is awaiting one of the most important custom yacht and super yachts builder from Italy, the legendary Cantieri di Pisa.  The new owners have been fast going into buisness of things and after presenting the project of the 22 Kitalpha went a few months later to announce a new Akir 42 S.  For this three deck and half super yacht Cantieri di Pisa will use designer Luca Dini.  Previously the yard has been working with Galeazzi and before that it was the architect that was Pier Luigi Spadolini who gave the new direction with the Akhir series. Hull one of the Akhir 42S is under construction and will be build with light alloy to the best Classification standards.  Power for the Cantieri di Pisa 42S Akhir will come from twin MTU 2600hp engines giving estimated top speeds up to 23 knots.

Project: Cantieri di Pisa 22 Kitalpha

What a superb looking project the new Cantieri di Pisa 22 Kitalpha is.  Luca Dini really out did himself and presented one of the most elegant looking traditional explorer yachts in the market. The only small let down is that possibly the 22 Kitalpha could have looked a bit more like the never ending elegance the early seventies wood build 15 Kitalpha had. To be built of a full alloy or steel construction option and feature a semi displacement hull, the 22 Kitalpha also reinvents the wheel in its layout, pilot house, raised saloon which looks coming from a sailing boat, and an important aft beach house which opens on the water when at anchor.  Cantieri di Pisa new 22 Kitapha will be powered by twin Volvo 700hp engines with line shafts propulsion.  Speeds are 19 knots max for the lighter alloy version with the steel hull giving 14 nautical miles per hour.

Projects: Cantieri di Pisa 90 Akhir, Cantieri di Pisa 153 Akhir

Cantieri di Pisa, the renowned yacht builder presents the last two projects of the new line. Undertaken by Camuzzi Group, also owners of the Baglietto shipyard, the new Pisa bosses handed the job to architect Galeazzi who presented a future update to the timeless Akhir lines of the past. The Galeazzi line has five models with the new 90 Akhir above also being the entry level Super Yacht of the Camuzzi Group, who is a unique cooperation specialized in Italian flared super yachts starting from 27 metres and going up to the recently launched Baglietto 58 metre, which is so far the biggest built to date. Inside the 90 Akhir will offer a conventional four cabin layout all on the lower deck, with owners suite mid ship, VIP cabin to fore, and two double cabins in between. Crew cabins are located aft, with a further extra berth available to fore. Speed is a thirty knots max with twin MTUs 1800hp, with a cruise of 25 knots which deliver a range of 450 nautical miles. The Akhir 90 will be constructed as all other Cantieri di Pisa models in fiberglass, to strict RINA C Hull Mach Y standards. The project above of the 153 Akhir will have an important novelty for Cantieri di Pisa, as it will be the biggest ever build by the status symbol Italian Tuscan yard. It will be a three decked Super Yacht, plus a flybridge for the sun worshippers. The standard internal layout will offer six double guest cabins, with owner suite on the main deck, and a full beam VIP cabin on the lower deck. Speeds are an estimated max of 27 knots with twin 4670hp MTUs. Range is a 3360 nautical miles at an economical 12 knots.

New Model: Cantieri di Pisa 118 Akhir

Cantieri di Pisa launches the first example of its new 118 Akhir model. Named Nena the new 118 Akhir is also the first Cantieri di Pisa to ever to feature a metalized grey hull. Launched in Pisa on Saturday 21st February this third model of the generation Akhir is built of fibreglass, and is 36 metres long and has a beam of 7.5 metres. Her dynamic, sleek lines reflect the great Akhir tradition, and are accentuated by two short strip openings above and below the dark hull length band, allowing the creation of nine windows for the owner’s suite. Her interior styling, by Cantieri di Pisa own interior designers, is clean yet traditional with a decorative concept based on the elegance of sanded teak with a wax effect, included in a modern scheme of boiserie that has been given a new interpretation. Here precious fabrics on the wall panels create a warm and hospitable environment, which is blended with a rigorous aesthetic. The furniture is mostly in black pear wood, with large sections upholstered in leather. All the pieces are expertly made using seventeenth century techniques by the yard’s team of skilled craftsmen. Special attention has been paid to on-board lighting with natural daylight filtering through sliding fabric panels, a feature used throughout the yacht in place of more classic curtains. Indirect artificial light is provided by cove lighting, accompanied by direct light points in the shape of designer lamps forming part of the overall furnishing plan. The interior layout also reflects the yard’s skills and creativity with the lower deck configuration including the owner’s suite, a twin guest cabin and two matching VIP suites. The main deck is dominated by the salon that is split into two sections, an area for socialising and a TV lounge. Two symmetrical corridors lead to stairs accessing the bridge and full-beam dining room. Further forward is the crew galley with dinette and a stairway down to the three crew cabins. On the flying bridge, behind the two piloting seats lie a pair of large sunpads, a spacious open area and a kitchen unit aft with a huge C-shaped divan and two large tables that can be joined together. In the cockpit a table, divan and four chairs together with a divan and large sunpad forward complete the range of furnishings. Delivered last March the new 118 Akhir is the third yacht in the new Cantieri di Pisa range, launched in the space of less than nine months and all designed and renewed by architict Carlo Galeazzi.

Project: Cantieri di Pisa 135 Akhir

Taken over by the Camuzzi Group in 2004, the new Cantieri Di Pisa 135 Akhir is the first project by the new management in order to put the World famous yacht builder and its range of motor and super yachts back on track. Showing up in the market 30 years ago, the Akhir range of motor yachts was instantly a success, thanks to the innovative design of Pierluigi Spadolini who created an all time classic modern line for this spectacular series of yachts. The new 135 Akhir is designed by Carlo Galeazzi who takes the difficult task of continuing the Cantieri di Pisa traditional value, but with the desire to renew this project and the rendering picture clearly shows this new cultural revision of a line that has made history in the nautical world. With an overall length of 41 metres the new 135 Akhir will boast an interior guest accommodation for 8 or 10 person and a crew service of 7 or 8 members as the owner would desire. Performance estimates show a 29 knots top speed performance, with a cruising speed of 25 knots giving a range of 600 nautical miles. A superior 2740 nautical mile range can be obtained by cruising at an economical 12 knots. The new 135 Akhir will be the first of the Cantieri Di Pisa generation of flybridge motor and super yachts which will be comprised of 5 models from 86 up to 153 feet in length.
