Three Saved as Cranchi Cruiser Ends Aground in Ibiza

Two adults and one child were saved as a Cranchi sport cruiser of eleven meters in length ended on the rocks in Escull de ses Punxes, Cala Comte, to the West of Ibiza some minutes after 22:00 of Friday 29 August.  Salvamento Maritimo Palma section responded to the emergency, which was difficult due to the wind and waves of the night.  Ultimately the boaters rescue operation was a success, as they were rescued by Helimer 222 and taken to Ibiza about thirty minutes after midnight.  According to Salvamento the Cranchi cruiser ended on the rocks after it had some mechanical issue.  None of the three boaters were injured.

The Cranchi in this accident is a 39 Endurance model as designed by Andreani and produced from 1998 to 2003.  The 39 Endurance was a replacement to the 35 Endurance, and was replaced by the Cranchi 41 Endurance.
