56 Meter Super Yacht Collides Into Famous Corinth Canal Walls

The 55 meter super yacht Blue II was filmed as it collided in the wall of the famous Corinth Canal in Greece, on the morning of Saturday eight August.  The video was filmed by Michalis Papamanolakis and shared on the YouTube channel Korinthognosia. In the clip, the 55 meters super yacht is seen passing within inches of the walls before glancing off them more than once on its starboard side.
Every year we have a yacht filmed as it collides in the banks of the Corinth Canal, in July 2025 it was a Princess 40M, while in July 2024 it was a Heesen 50 meter.
The yacht in this accident, Blue II is a 2020 custom build Turquoise Yacht 55.9 meters hull number NB72 as designed by Hock design for both exterior and naval architecture, with interiors by Vickers.

Ferretti Yacht Crash in Miami River Wall

A twenty meter Ferretti Yacht was filmed as it crashed into the river wall of the Miami river on the late morning of Saturday first August.  The story shared on the Onlyindade Instagram profile with the yacht filmed as it crashed bow port side into the wall.  In the video and following the collision one crew is seen jumping down from the bow to asses the damage.  The cause of the collision is not advised, although it does look to be a throttle command failure. 
The yacht in this accident is Ferretti 680 as designed by Zuccon and produced from 2003 to 2006.  The 680 was a replacement and evolution of the 68, and was replaced by the Ferretti 681.

Ten Boaters Saved as Sunseeker Yacht Partly Sinks in Chania, Crete

Ten boaters were saved as a seventeen meter Sunseeker sport yacht struck rocks and partly sunk at Agioi Apostoloi, west of Chania, in Crete on the afternoon of Thursday 23 July.  Hellenic Coast Guard responded to the accident by dispatching a patrol boat saving the boaters first, with eight guests transferred to Chania old harbour, while the captain and owner onboard the yacht stayed onboard to save for the recovery operation.  Chania Port Authority is investigating the accident, with this coming in moderate Force four Beaufort North winds.  No pollution is reported from the accident with the yacht towed to a boat yard later in the evening.
The yacht in this accident is a Sunseeker Predator 58  as designed by Don Shead and produced from 1996 to 1999.  The Predator 58 was a replacement to the Camargue 55, and was replaced with the first generation Predator 60.

34 Meter Super Yacht Smashes Into Pier in Fort Lauderdale

The 34 meter yacht Determination crashed into a pier while being towed along the New River, near Andrews Avenue, in downtown Fort Lauderdale on the morning of Monday twenty July. According to the tow company, someone on the yacht bridge accidentally hit the throttle as it passed Andrews Avenue, which sent the yacht off course. The tow captains below tried to counter that propulsion, but there was nothing they could do to avoid the collision. Both the dock and the yacht sustained significant damage after the accident, with a piling lodged in the yacht's bow still visible. Despite the mess left behind and the city’s storm-water pump house damaged, no injuries were reported. City officials said a structural engineer will determine how much damage the crash may have caused to the storm-water pump station and the seawall.
The yacht in this accident is a 2016 Westport 112 Raised Pilothouse, as produced from 1993 to 2020 in 68 units.  The 112 Raised Pilothouse was replaced by the Westport 117 Raised Pilothouse.

38 meter Super Yacht Ends Aground at Falmouth in Massachusetts

The 38 meter super yacht Favor with thirteen persons onboard ended aground on the rocks Southwest of Capre Cod at Falmouth in Massachusetts on 11:00 morning time of Friday seventeen July.  US Coast Guard responded first to the grounding, and were later assited by the Falmouth Fire Department and the Falmouth Harbormaster.  The first operation was to evacuate the seven persons onboard, as six crew remained onboard to assist in the recovery of the yacht.  The yacht  was floated and towed to the Great Harbor Anchorage area, where marine inspectors are currently conducting a damage assessment.  No injuries are reported with the cause of the accident not reported, but probably was an error in navigation.
The yacht in this accident is a 2000 build custom Crescent 38.7 meters as designed by Jack Sarin for exterior and interiors by Bill Scales.  Crescent was founded in 1985 by Jack Charles in Crescent Beach, a small oceanside community in British Columbia, Canada specializing in building custom super yachts from 28 to 42 meters.

Two Saved as Princess Yacht Part Sinks in Ajaccio, Corsica

A seventeen meter Princess Yacht with two persons onboard partly sank near Sanguinaires, Ajaccio to the West of Ajaccio in Corsica on 14:30 of Sunday twelfth July.  SNSM station of Ajaccio who reported the accident on its Facebook page, after saving the two boaters started an operation to save the yacht with three pumps, with this resulting not successful, as the yacht was then towed and grounded at La Parata, before initiating a second towing to the shipyard to Charles Ornano, where it was lifted and salvaged.  The yacht part sank as it struck a fishing net, which pulled out its shaft and opened a water entry.
The yacht in this accident is a Princess 57 as designed by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 2003 to 2006.  The 57 was a replacement to the 56 and was replaced by the second generation Princess 58.

Mangusta Super Yacht Ends Aground at Palmanova, Mallorca

The forty meter Mangusta super sport yacht Mrs Grey ended beached at Palmanova in Mallorca, on the dawn of Sunday twelve July.  The yacht was then assisted by its tender and other small private water craft and was then freed after about an hour at 06:41 morning time.  Following the ungrounding the yacht according to its AIS data cruised to El Toro.  The cause of the beaching is not advised, although with anchor signal and light on most probably that the yacht anchor drifted in the night.  No injuries and damage to the yacht are reported from the accident.
The yacht in this accident is a 2005 Overmarine Mangusta 130 as designed by Stefano Righini and produced from 2004 to 2014 in twelve units.  When released the Mangusta 130 was its largest build offer, and was replaced by the Overmarine Mangusta 132.

Riviera Yachts Ends Aground on Sandbar at Big Pass, Florida

A fifteen meter Riviera sport yacht with two persons onboard ended aground on a sandbar at Big Pass, Sarasota, Florida at around 17:00 of Friday ten July.  The yacht was assisted by Florida Gulf Coast Marine Services of TowboatU.S who shared the story on its Facebook page.  After a first failed attempt for ungrounding with low tide, eventually the yacht was removed at late night as the tide came up and then towed to Marina Jack for inspection and eventual repairs.
The yacht in this accident is a Riviera 505 SUV as produced since 2020 to date in nineteen units.

Classic Yacht Ends Aground in Aegina Island, Greece

A classic nineteen meter Cantieri di Pisa ended aground and partially sunk listing to its starboard side at Keri Island to the South of Aigina Island on the morning of Friday third July.  As the photo above shows the yacht was protected by a pollution protection boon.  The cause of the incident and how many passengers were onboard are not clear, with a post on the Boating in Greece Facebook page reported the yacht had fourteen persons during the accident.
The yacht in this accident is a Cantieri di Pisa Akhir 19 as designed by Spadolini and produced from 1979 to 1983.  The Akhir 19 was a replacement to the Pegaso 20m and was replaced by the Cantieri di Pisa Akhir 20.

One Injured as Yacht and Rib Collide Near Ischia Island

One person was injured as a yacht reported to be over twenty meters in length and a rib-cruiser of twelve meters collided near the Castello Aragonesi area on the island of Ischia, on the morning of Monday 29 June.   The Guardia Costiera of Ischia and Port Captaincy responded to the accident, taking the injured boater to Ischia island to be assisted by the 118 emergency crew.  Following this the coast guard also towed the rib-cruiser which seemed to be the one suffering the most from the collusion.  The cause of the accident are not fully reported, with some news reporting that the yacht crushed the rib on the collision, damaging it heavily on its port side.
The rib-cruiser in this accident is a Solemar 44 Oceanic as produced in the noughties.  We have no news of the yacht involved in the collision.

Ferretti Yacht Beaches in Magaluf, Mallorca

A sixteen meter Ferretti Yacht ended aground on the beach of Magaluf to the south west of Palma in Mallorca on the morning of Sunday 28 June.  The yacht is reported to have snapped it's chain while at anchor offshore to the beach and then drifted until ending aground.  A not successful attempt to tow the yacht was made by a boater, with a second towing by the charter boat Neptun freed the yacht and returned it to deep water.  No injuries are reported from the grounding, and the damage to the yacht is not advised.
The yacht in this accident is a Ferretti 550 second generation as designed by Zuccon and produced from 2016 to 2022.  The second generation 550 was a replacement to the 570, and was replaced by the Ferretti 580.

Fifty Meter Super Yacht Ends Aground at Bonifacio, Corsica

The fifty meter super yacht Beatrix ended aground at the Port of Bonifacio on the late morning of Saturday 27 June.  The yacht was assisted by the berth assistance of Bonifacio and was eventually put back in deep water.  Theyachtman06 reported the accident from his Instagram page with the cause of the grounding reported to be an error during manoeuvring operation.  No injuries are reported from the accident, with the damage if any to the yacht not being advised.
The yacht in this accident is a custom 2015 build Cantieri Navali di Termoli 50 meters as designed by Tommaso Spadolini for exterior and interiors by Salvagni. 

Explorer Yacht Ends Aground in Barnegat Inlet, New Jersey

A seventeen meter explorer yacht ended aground near Barnegat Light in Barnegat Inlet, New Jersey on the afternoon of Friday 26 June.  TowBoatUS Barnegat Light and Beach Haven who shared the story on its Facebook page assisted the yacht, by removing it from the grounding, and then towing it into deep water.  The yacht was then reported to have proceeded with its own power, which means it sustained little damage.  According to other boaters in the post the area is not well marked and goes from depths of eight meters to those of less to a meters in nothing.
The yacht in this accident is a DeFever 55 Offshore Custom Cruiser as designed by Arthur DeFever and produced in the early noughties.  The 55 Offshore Custom Cruiser was replaced by the DeFever 56 Pilothouse.

Prestige Yacht Ends Aground Loses Propulsion at Jewfish Key, Florida

A sixteen meter Prestige flybridge yacht with four persons onboard ended aground, and then lost both its pod-drives at New Pass, Jewfish Key Florida at 13:00 of Friday nineteen June.  Florida Gulf Coast Marine Services of TowBoatU.S who shared the story on its Youtube page, and then assisted the yacht as it towed to Dock Cortez for inspection.  An interesting part of the story that ultimately the yacht's captain found the lost pod drives the following day.  
The yacht in this accident is a Prestige 550 Flybridge as designed by Garroni and produced from 2012 to 2017 in 170 units.  The 550 Flybridge was replaced by the Prestige 560 Flybridge.

Wally Yacht Collides Into Rocky Reef in Formentera, Ibiza

A seventeen meter Wally sport yacht with two crew onboard collided into rocky reefs of the islet of S'Espalmador in Formentera, to the South of Ibiza on the night between tenth and eleventh June. Salvamento Maritimo tended to the accident with the Salvamento Naos vessel, and rescued the two crew, who sustained minor injuries. Following this a specialized firm was then instructed to remove and float back this yacht, with this then towed to a yacht yard in Ibiza. The cause of the collision is not reported.
The yacht in this accident is a WallyPower 58 as designed by Luca Bassani and produced since 2022.  The WallyPower 58 was a replacement to the WallyPower 55.

Ferretti Yacht Collides Into Tourist Boat in Miami River

A 23 meter Ferretti yacht named Destiny which was running a charter cruise was filmed as it collided into a moored tourist ferry vessel in the Miami River on the afternoon of Saturday 23 May.  The story was shared by The Qualified Captain on his Facebook and Instagram pages, who shared two short reels as the yacht collided its bow into the stern of the passenger ferry.  The cause of the collision is not reported, but is speculated to have been a problem with throttle response.
The yacht in this accident is a first generation Ferretti 780 as designed by Zuccon and produced from 2004 to 2009.  The 780 was a replacement to the 76 and was replaced by the Ferretti 800.

Fairline Yacht Sinks at Cesme in Izmir, Turkey

A seventeen meter Fairline yacht sank at Ali Bostan in Cesme, Izmir locality on the Aegean sea of Turkey on Saturday nine May.  Cesmecevirmerada broke the story on it's Instagram page as the yacht lay partly sank close to the beach.  It is reported that the yacht sank after it struck reefs close to the shore, with the reason for this not being known.  A salvage operation was immediately started on the day of the accident.  The people onboard if any at the time of the accident are not reported.
The yacht in this accident is a Fairline Squadron 59 Mk.II as designed by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 1997 to 1998.  The Squadron 59 Mk.II was a replacement to the Squadron 59 mk.I and was replaced by the Fairline Squadron 62 Mk.II.

Classic Yacht Ends Aground in Harts Landing at Sarasota, Florida

A classic twenty meter yacht with two persons and a dog onboard ended aground at Harts Landing in Sarasota, Florida at about 15:30 of Friday eight May.  The yacht was assisted by Florida Gulf Coast Yacht Services who shared this story on its YouTube page.  Florida Gulf Coast Services managed to remove the yacht from the grounding, which luckily was on sand as this area is known to be mostly rocky reefed rather then sand.  According to the video the yacht ended aground cause of engine failure and little chain on anchor, making it drift to the sandy shore.  Following the accident and a towing the yacht then anchored at Marina Jack Anchorage.

Classic Hatteras Yacht Ends Aground at North Coquina, Florida

A classic seventeen meter Hatteras yacht with four persons onboard ended aground near the North Coquina boat ramp, Florida on the afternoon of third April.  Florida Gulf Coast Marine Services who shared the story on its YouTube page assisted the classic yacht, and removed it from the sand bar which in some places was under one meter deep, for a yacht which drafts about one meter and a half.  Eventually the yacht left with its own power, which suggests it sustained little or no damage.
The yacht in this accident is a Hatteras 58 Motor Yacht Series II as designed by Jack Hargrave and produced from 1985 to 1987.  The 58 Motor Yacht Series II was a replacement to the 56 Motor Yacht, and was replaced by the Hatteras 60 Motor Yacht.

Super Yacht Collides In Miami Intercoastal Channel Marker

A 32 meter super yacht looking to be on a charter cruise was filmed as it collided into a channel marker in the Miami Intercoastal water way, for a story reel shared on social media on the Thursday second April.  Capt.Pablo82 shared the reel on all the social media platforms which showed the yacht colliding bow port side into the channel marker and damage its safety railing.  Seven guests look to be in the bow sun-pad area of the yacht and remain static as they see the yacht collide.  No one was injured with the cause of the collision not reported, with some of the social media posts saying the yacht lost its power. 
The yacht in this accident is an Arno Leopard 32 Sport as designed by Andrea Bacigalupo and  produced from 2005 to 2010 in ten units.
