Boater Rescued in Hit and Run at Grand Traverse Bay, Michigan

One boater was rescued as he was hit and run on his eight meter sport cruiser in West Traverse Bay, Michigan on the early 01:22 time of Sunday 31 August.  After the collision which did important damage to the stern port side of his cruiser, the boater put his life jacket and called 911, and was later assisted by Grand Traverse County Sheriff office marina division.  The sheriff office marine division deputies assisted the man, and towed the sport cruiser to shore.  The man later reported that he was hit by a pontoon boat which had no lights on and was travelling North.  The County Sheriff and US Coast Guard are currently searching for the pontoon boat.
The sport cruiser in this collision is a Rinker 266 Fiesta Vee as produced from 1996 to 1999.  The 266 Fiesta Vee was a replacement to the 265 Fiesta Vee, and was replaced by the Rinker 270 Express Cruiser.
