Project: Marex 390
Marex present the project for an upcoming 390 model as designed by VOM Creations and Alpha Engineering. The Marex is designed as an addition to the 330 and 440 Scandinavian range, offering a perfect balance of open and enclosed spaces. To ensure Marex 390 meets the real needs of boaters, all feedback from the previous Marex owners was collected, and thoughtful details were incorporated. The Marex team worked closely with VOM Creations and Alpha Engineering, taking care to create a more open and comfortable space, in the 390 which will feature a warped variable V-shaped hull, and an innovative structure that ensures superior stability, efficiency, and performance on the water. Long, sleek windows run along the hull, giving the profile a fresh and elegant look. Marex has always prioritised functional design, and this is seen on the 390 in the details like the swim platform benches that serve a dual purpose: from seats next to the water to expansive stowage for fenders, lines, and toys. The new cockpit transparent door lets in more light and makes docking in harbours easier, while also keeping a connection to the sea. The foredeck’s hatch has a hidden bow sprit to be easily flipped out, making access to land from the bow easy. The sun-pad also serves as a floating toy, a feature that is very popular among families. The adjustable backrest of the mattress allows it to be used as a chaise lounge. The Marex signature enclosure, the Smart Canopy System, remains a highlight repeated in th390. The side curtains can be deployed in seconds, and together with two sliding roofs, the boat can be adapted to various weather conditions. The Marex 390 offers two generous dining areas; one in the open cockpit and another in the enclosed salon. In the cockpit, a U-shaped sofa extends to accommodate an additional starboard-side seat, comfortably seating up to eight guests around the table. Inside, the salon features a more spacious layout, resulting in a more open and social atmosphere. A reversible backrest transforms the seating into a U-shaped dining area around the table. When the backrest is positioned at the rear, it creates a co-pilot seat. A foldable office table completes the setup, offering a practical workspace. A large sliding door combined with a retractable window allows the salon and cockpit to open up into one continuous space, perfect for socialising with family and friends. The galley is compact but cleverly designed. It includes an induction Miele hob (with generator installed) or a gas hob, a sink with a cover, a double fridge and freezer, an optional oven, and plenty of storage, including new upper cabinets on both sides of the salon. The solar panel system, installed on the roof, provides constant power for the fridge and lights, allowing for boating away from shore power. The accommodation on the Marex 390 is designed to deliver true home comfort on the water. Both the forward and midship cabins feature enlarged double beds with premium mattresses that improve sleeping quality. Spacious wardrobes and generous standing height add to the overall sense of comfort. In the midship cabin, a sofa serves as a cosy seating area or an additional sleeping space for children. A separate shower contributes to the home-like atmosphere, while large windows on the lower deck fill the space with natural light, creating a bright and airy ambiance. The Marex 390 is to be powered by twin Volvo 320hp or 380hp with sterndrive propulsion, or a single 480hp on V-drive line shaft.

New Model: Bellini Astor 36
Not much time passes that a new offer in the walk around sport cruiser segment appears. This time around we have Bellini, who founded in 1960 return to boat and yacht production after 51 years. This is not to say that Bellini has stopped since then, as the company including it's home on Lake Iseo has today five boat storage facilities, located in Liguria and the Adriatic side of Italy. Bellini is back with this new Astor 36 a sport cruiser walk around designed by Brunello Acampora of Victory design and project guidance from Norberto Ferretti. The Astor 36 is the first part of Bellini's industrial plan to re-enter boat production, which is to feature a three model line up with two other Astor's of 58 and 68 arriving in the near future. The Astor 36 enters the competitive walk around segment, with a few distinct shining features versus similar competition. It stand out feature is surely its drop down balconies, which are among the largest to size being about a third to the Astor 36 length. These apart extending space, give also a sensation of being literally with the water rather then just on it even when for example sitting on the dinette. Another feature of the Astor 36 is that it has a hull registration length of under ten meters able to be registered as a small Natante boat on the Italian registry. Like similar walk around's the Bellini Astor 36 brings the usual layout of an aft sun-pad, dinette with opposing settee's, dual seat center console, with two steps up leading to the fore deck which has a forward bench settee in-front of the console, and a fore-peak sun-pad. Down below the Bellini Astor 36 offers a four berth accommodation layout, with a double berth forward, a shower head to starboard, a cabin galley to port side, and a second double berth at midships. The Bellini Astor 36 is powered by twin Volvo 350hp gas engines, and or 300hp diesel's with stern drive propulsion with these giving top speeds up to 32 knots.

New Model: Ora Yacht 48
I was walking at the 2024 Genoa boat show, when I saw a recognizable hull line, is that it, is this a re-invented Baia 48 Flash. It was, but actually it was not, as it this was the new Ora Yacht 48. My suspicion though was actually half correct as the Ora Yacht 48 is very much based on the successful 48 Flash hull, re-designed by Forma who presented an updated super structure, featuring a single-piece windshield with no barriers to visibility while navigating and a completely new cockpit and cabin layouts. Ora Yacht from Naples is a new brand who starts with this 48 model, with its bases coming from a family who has been doing boat yacht charter business since the Amalfi coast and nearby islands became a thing. The Ora Yacht 48 comes minimal looking, a sort of classic open yacht launched into the future, which wants to bring the same outside spaces that the current crop of walk-around boats offer. For doing this the Ora Yacht 48 first unit came with a nearly free cockpit deck, with L-shaped wet bar galley forward to port, under the extended windshield, and two opposite settees which can transform to a dinette or sun-pad, or be removed to make the cockpit area a totally free party space. The fore deck has also the option to be equipped with floating cushions that can be used as sunbeds and a sofa. The Ora Yacht 48 also features a Mastervolt Lithium-Ion system, the first for a boat of fourteen meters giving 220 volt AC systems without the need of a generator. The system in the Ora 48 features a steel case that is five times stronger to isolate the batteries, this made to ensure safety and exceed upcoming regulations. The Ora 48 is also well studied in the technical side, where for example removing the engine and or other technical equipment is easy to do. The Ora 48 unlike its forbearer the 48 Flash which always featured surface drive propulsion, is powered by twin Volvo 600hp with IPS pod drives for top speeds up to forty knots.

New Model: Maxim Yachts Max43 Comfort
Maxim Yachts is a new Spanish brand founded on solid bases with its Barcelona parent company started in 1971 as boat yacht repair facility, which enters boat production with the Max43 Comfort. Initially announced as the Neo 43 project, this walk around center console sport cruiser debuted at the 2024 Genoa boat show, entering into the always growing competitive walk-around segment with performance and high end modern design by Alex Cherigny as its main attributes. It is an endless competitive segment but yet the Max43 brings a fresh offer, designed not only as a high end performance but also a comfortable stay on board cruiser. The Max43 bow to stern outdoor spaces expand in space thanks to drop down side balconies, and while this is not new in the category the size of the opening bulkheads are the largest in the segment. The exterior spaces though are not the winning card, it is the lower deck cabin which sleeps four, in a forward and midships double berth, with a shower head to starboard, which makes the first Maxim interesting especially considering its very sporty characteristics. The Maxim Max43 Comfort interior is finished in a minimalist clean style, creating a spacious and refined environment. The Maxim Max43 Comfort is powered by twin Volvo 380hp as standard and or optional 440hp with duo-prop stern drive propulsion with the large engines giving a top speed up to 42 knots and a cruise of thirty. Performance are announcing a new era as they present the first and smallest of three new projects the 90X, to be designed by iYacht and sets the tone for its next evolution. The 90X is labelled by Performance of more than a new start, with the this nine meter sport boat-cruiser being a tribute to the previous Italian now fully German boat builder next step into the future. Like any Performance the 90X combines the thrill of a high-performance sports boat and the elegance of a luxurious retreat, coupled with the iconic design meets cutting-edge technology, sophisticated ergonomics and the highest level of craftsmanship. The Performance 90X cockpit leaves nothing to be desired: ergonomics meets technology, owners will have a choice between digital dual screens and analogue instruments all intuitively positioned in the perfect field of vision. The digitally connected lever gearshifts guarantee precise control, while the adjustable, suspended seats for the driver and passenger offer maximum comfort even at high speeds. The cabin of the 90X will set new standards for a very sporty fast boat, with an impressive standing height of 1.75 meters, a king-size bed and a well-designed wet room that redefines comfort, it offers you space and luxury without compromise. The Performance 90X is to be standard powered by twin Mercruiser 250hp gas engines with options going up to twin Mercury Racing 565hp for speeds up seventy knots. So far the Performance 90X seems not to be offered with a diesel option, which I think is a bit of losing a bit to the market. Performance look to be back, stronger, faster and more precise than ever before.
